My wife and I came here looking for a delicious meal and that’s exactly what we got. I had their Sunday sauce pasta and my wife got their broccoli rob and sausage, both excellent. Staff was very kind and attentive even though it was a busy night. Plan on coming again with the rest of the family

What a gem. NYC quality food. We enjoyed the steak so much I didn't even get the chance to take a photo.

Tremendous experience here last night: right off the bat you notice the casual, laid back atmosphere, a marked and welcome difference from other restaurants of similar quality. The cocktail list doesn’t stray too far from established classics, but offers surprising little twists that are perfectly balanced in the finished product. The menu is superb - absolutely brimming with fresh, seasonal ingredients in every dish. Everything tasted fresh and delicious - again, to feel so relaxed and eat so well is just a treat. The portion sizes too are extremely generous, which is another welcome difference from many other restaurants of this quality. The service was also top notch, especially when I (an idiot) left my card at the restaurant and the host chased me down on the street to return it. All in all a fantastic experience, one we will be returning to again soon.

Lovely restaurant in Tannersville that takes reservations. Watermelon salad was great as was the chicken entree. Others really enjoyed the fish.

What a special treat near the mountain and what a surprise! Was not expecting such a perfect meal after snowboarding all day. Very interesting dishes and all delicious. I had the squash soup which had the perfect hint of spice and peanuts. So unexpectedly delicious. How could I forget those crispy potatoes?! Cooked to perfection. Don’t even get me started on the ambiance! Would have loved to sit outside by the fire. Chef’s kiss all around!!

After numerous attempts to secure a reservation at Tabla, we were finally able to dine there, and the experience was nothing short of magical. The owner personally greeted us, suggesting a delightful outdoor seating area. The food was exceptional, the ambience enchanting, and the service impeccable. The owner's hospitality and the professional demeanor of the staff made our visit truly memorable. Excellent value for money. We eagerly anticipate our next visit.

Updating a year later! The entire menu has changed; Oh, what a great find and a great location/view! The food is incredible - very impressed and unexpected. There’s a creek alongside with beautiful views (outdoor seating available too) and the staff is amazing.. so welcoming and loving! Really makes you feel at home. Olivia was the waitress and she is such a LIGHT! Thank you, Tabla!!! Will definitely be back!!!

Tabla has so much potential to be a great option for dinner, honestly it could be the best place to go in the area. The service is a bit of a let down, I understand what the other reviews are saying. It basically feels like you’re not welcome and bothering the people working here since you have to ask to order, get a menu, or just to be seen. Things are a bit slow but the food was good. The vibe inside is also cozy and intimate which is perfect for a cold day. Hope the friendly vibe can come here because this would easily be an amazing place to grab a bite to eat.

Excellent food and beautiful presentations however, hostess never made eye contact and looked away as she was speaking to us and escorting us to our table. Wait staff took away appetizers and utensils, and brought our main dishes without utensils. Utensils within placed at the edge of the table rather than in front of my wife and I. At the end of the night, the check was presented to my wife rather than myself. We did have a bottle of wine, which was opened at the table however, was not offered the opportunity to taste it. While the food is delicious and presentation is excellent, it appears the staff needs to be educated on appropriate table etiquette.

The manager that seated us was quite rude - service is very slow despite lots of staff. Sat at the bar waiting for our table and the hostess didn’t ask for water or drinks. Overall very mediocre service as well as the food for the price tag. We got the beet tahini (it’s beet mashed up, no tahini or spices) and eggplant. For the mains we got vinegar chicken and smashed burger and did not taste good. They have a 10% living wage fee that says goes to the staff so didn’t know how to tip.

A group of 4 visited Tabla for dinner on a Sunday night around 5pm. We had no issues getting seated. The ambiance is nice, it's next to a nice river/creek and inside is fairly spacious. The food was ok. FOOD: We got the trio of dips (whipped feta, muhamara, and beet tahini), the fried artichokes, the cavatelli and pesto dish, and sides were the greens (collard greens) and crispy potatoes. The dips were pretty good. We'd probably get something else in place of the beet tahini. The muhammara was good. The artichokes were good and the sauces to dip them in (marinara-type and a white aioli) were good. The cavatelli dish with pesto and tomatoes was not good. Two couples got it, and neither found it tasty. It was very bland. Pesto usually has a strong profile, but this had none. I understand "bland" is subjective, but all 4 of us thought it had no "pesto" flavor. The crispy potatoes were good. This is by no means an insult to the restaurant, rather a relative description and our opinion. SERVICE: Everyone was super friendly and professional. A nice welcome, checking the heat in our area were all little details that stand out. There were a couple areas with room for improvement. We ordered a soup to come out as an entrée but it came out as a starter. We asked for several things multiple times. I will be fair and say that they did accommodate my last minute change to an entrée though, so that was definitely a plus. Overall, my recommendation would be to taste test (with others) the pesto pasta dish and let the pesto shine, it needs more flavor there. Also, just a bit more focus on what patrons are asking for.

My husband and I came here for our 10 year anniversary and thought Tabla would be the perfect spot to host our rehearsal dinner and cater our wedding. Early in the planning process, I shared a clear budget and was told, “we can work something out for you.” The week before my wedding, my catering costs increased by $7,000. One of the reasons given was staffing — something I’ll partially own. The contract did specify food only, and he mentioned the venue had historically provided staff. While I wish this had been clarified earlier (and I accept some responsibility there), this should never have been addressed a week before a wedding. We also hosted our rehearsal dinner on the second floor of his restaurant and discussed hosting a welcome party as well. He noted it was historically a slow weekend and said that if I helped drive reservations, we could avoid a full buyout. I emailed all of our guests recommending they dine there, and the restaurant was largely filled with our wedding party. Despite this, his behavior during the rehearsal dinner was shockingly rude. He told my 87-year-old grandmother to “sit down or get outside” while she was standing inside waiting for a car in snowy weather. He physically pushed a booth into my sister-in-law after we slightly rearranged seating — something we had been approved to do and were later told was suddenly not acceptable. He also claimed we failed to meet the food and beverage minimum and that “no one was ordering drinks.” This was inaccurate. My sisters-in-law ended up reviewing the point-of-sale system with him, and nearly every table in the restaurant belonged to our party, with only a handful of exceptions. Servers were slow to take drink orders and drinks came back inconsistently (multiple people got a cocktail they liked, and the second time it came back with blue curacao?). Finally, during the wedding reception, he insisted one of my bridesmaids retrieve my credit card so he could be paid. While I understand vendors need to be paid, asking the bride for a credit card during her own reception is wildly inappropriate. This should have been handled ahead of time or arranged for afterward. PROS: - I'm not sure what the final numbers were for our welcome party but we were not charged an additional F&B minimum. - Service/staff at the wedding was excellent. - I was told the food was wonderful.

We have been to tabla 3 times before tonight. Each time we enjoyed every aspect of tabla. Tonight we had a different experience. When we arrived we asked for the cozy window seat and the hostess told us it was reserved for another table. Disappointed, we sat in the center of the room and had our entire dinner while the table remained empty. After an hour and a half, the table was still empty. It def sets the wrong vibe The drinks were lukewarm. When we ordered a bottle of wine the staff could not find an opener and the bottle sat on the bar for 10 minutes while they searched for it. The food was also disappointing. The chopped salad was delicious as well as the whipped honey ricotta. Everything went downhill from there. The eggplant parm was pretty good but should have been hotter. The pizza with tomato and fresh mozz was soggy, thick and had no fresh tomatoes. Pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe was good but nothing special. Overall the experience was below average. I will hesitate to return:) Used to be great. What happened???

Food and atmosphere is fitting for the area. Service is underwhelming, never got an additional water and my empty plate sat in-front of me until I got up to leave. It is worth knowing you are paying the wait staff’s salary as a “10% living wage”, if you are in a party of 6 or more, you will be automatically charged a 20% tip. $90 bill turned into $125 before my card even processed. Take your money somewhere else. Sleezy business practice with a upscale mask…

We had a reservation at 7:30pm on a Saturday. Once we sat down we could immediately tell the staff was in the weeds. We ordered a couple cocktails and some apps at the same time. The food immediately followed the drinks which took quite a while, especially being that the downstairs dining room was very blue two thirds full. The shrimp was decent. The arancini and chopped salad was bland. The salad was only dressed in olive oil and not a lot of it. Atmosphere was definitely chaotic. Seemed they were understaffed. FOH staff power walking and stomping all over the dining room but seemed they had no choice. The rigatoni Sunday sauce was quite good and the chicken paillard was just okay. The bill was pretty shocking. $104 for 4 michters manhattans ($26 each) is criminal. Our bill ended up being around $300 after the weird “living wage” charge and a $40 tip. If you want to pay Manhattan prices for shoddy service and mediocre food, this is the spot.

It started off well with the gambas appetizer. The ambiance is nice with good lighting and windows that open. But the main courses were delayed & then after they came out we ate less than half before some glasses broke one table away from us and glass went everywhere hitting my partner on the hands and back of the head. We were in shock and didn’t know exactly what to say. Of course things like that happen, but we didn’t feel comfortable eating the food after glass had come on the table. A guy with a baseball cap (manager?) came out and said what did you want me to do? I can’t just give you another chicken dinner you already ate most of it: we said okay you’re gonna do what you’re gonna do. He came back out and said we don’t even have another chicken anyway. Ok we said. Our waitress was good overall and I don’t think she knew that the guy in a hat was so rude to us. She comped our entrees and only charged the appetizer but there was a $10 fee included for living wage so we didn’t tip on top of that. Really weird way to handle glass potentially being in a customers food. We left and had a drink at Last Chance which made the night a little less bad, but we still went to sleep hungry cause nothing else was open. Btw - the $26 pizza you see in the picture is pizza bread- it’s not pizza.

Avoid this place. We went to there for dinner on a weekday and asked for a table for eight. The restaurant was not crowded. The host rolled his eyes and said, “You should have called ahead,” in a dismissive tone. The attitude was flat-out rude. We asked why he was being so disrespectful and requested a manager. He said he was the manager and that no one else could help. The owner walked out and said maybe he was having a bad day. That was the response. We’ve been here in previous years and already had concerns about high prices and average food, but we kept coming back because options in the area are limited and it used to be acceptable. Not anymore. Service has dropped to the point where it ruins the entire experience. There is no reason to go here if you want to enjoy your vacation or even a normal dinner. Plenty of other places will treat you with basic respect. Skip this one.

I have never left anything other than a five-star review, but this was hands down the WORST restaurant experience we have ever had. We'd traveled to the Catskills for the weekend to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday, and had booked the restaurant weeks ahead of time for a party of five, letting them know it was for a birthday dinner. When we arrived, even though we had made a reservation weeks in advance and they had a nearly empty restaurant, we were seated at the worst possible table right by the door to the street: the temperature outside was well below zero with windchills, and the temperature inside the restaurant was cold enough that several of us kept our coats on throughout dinner. Tabla has cozy upstairs seating with a fireplace: with a reservation several weeks in advance, there was no reason to seat us in a drafty booth right at the door. With our winter coats still on, we tried to make the best of it, and ordered two bottles of red wine for our table, one of them costing upwards of $140. When the wine arrived, both bottles were truly ice cold. No restaurant should be serving any red wine at this temperature, but for $140 a bottle, this was unacceptable. The staff made no acknowledgement or apology. We ordered food, with one person in our party who has life-threatening food allergies asking our server to confirm whether the kitchen could accommodate simple dietary needs (allergies to nuts and fish). The server was laid back and did not respect her very simple request (did not return to confirm to us whether she'd spoken to the kitchen), so our friend was unable to feel confident that her life-threatening allergies had been taken seriously, so she was ultimately not able to eat the meal she ordered and paid for. But the worst and most disrespectful aspect of our evening centered around an order of the trout: the menu lists the item simply as "grilled trout" (along with its side of chutney, potato, and green onion). When the fish arrived, it was a whole head-on, tail-on, bone-in trout. Industry standard and best practice universally follow describing fish on menus as "whole-roasted," or "served head to tail," when serving fish in this way. When fish is listed without these descriptors, it can almost ALWAYS be safely assumed that the fish is a headless, boneless, fillet. When we expressed surprise and discomfort when the fish arrived head-on and decided to ask the manager if the kitchen might be willing to remove the head for us, he was incredibly rude, halting and saying, "Well, they don't usually do that for people," before finally VERY unpfrofessionally whipping her plate up and almost hitting her in the face with it, muttering under his breath about her as he stormed off to the kitchen. At the end of our (freezing, uncomfortable, expensive) evening while we struggled to finish our ice-cold red wine, we tried to speak to the owner about his manager's behavior, and explain that we weren't trying to be difficult but were there for a special 40th birthday celebration that we were just trying to salvage at that point, and instead of an apology, the owner defended him, saying that there was nothing wrong with how the fish was labeled, and that the place was having a busy night with difficult customers upstairs, so the manager probably didn't mean anything by it. He finally, begrudgingly, offered to take the fish off the ticket (it had not been touched by us), and even then, when the bill came, the server sighed and gave us attitude, telling us it would "take a while," to use more than one credit card. Overall, it was the most incompetent, disrespectful, disappointing, overpriced, uncomfortable dining experiences any of us have ever had, and none of us are people that EVER give service staff a hard time and, in fact, go out of our way to be accommodating and respectful. Avoid this place at all costs, and tell your friends. A nightmare on every single front.

Terrible food. Ordered two chicken parm’s which were definitely frozen then heated as they were topped with a pound of Parmesan cheese that was not even melted. Absolutely horrible showing from what seems to be the “high-end” restaurant in the area. Would rather get chicken fingers at the ski lodge. Waitress was great.

We had a dinner on a Sunday night and we are a family of four - with two kids - when we entered the restaurant - it was totally empty with 4 people at the bar - the sat us on a table at the entrance (in and out you can imagine how cold could be specially when you have the kids how easy can get sick ) - and here it starts - we asked super politely as we also work on hospitality if we can sit somewhere far from the door - the girl who was serving us say for the beginning that all the tables are reserved ( keep a note that till we let after alosmot an hour and a half they ended up only 3 tables with clients - when I kindly explained that we are asking not to be in ten entrance she said let me ask the manager who was the barman - he came very rude to us and say a strong NO - wow super “polite “ I was so impressed!!!!! my husband asked to lower the light as we had a light an us and it felt that we are being interrogated and hard to eat peacefully - we asked the light to be lowered and the manager did - and then the owner come and put the light up again !!! And he gave as a “look” another one negative wow factor !!! Anyway the food was not worthy the money - steak was cold but the appertizers were good and the drinks were good ! I understand this is a local restaurant and main training how to welcome and create a hospitality feeling in a restaurant is not a priority for the tourists - I get it but if you want to operate as a basic restaurant at a list basic hospitality ethics needs to be taught! So not worth it !!!

Cold weather, cold food and colder service. I got the chicken parm and it was cold in the middle. Nothing was done after I gave them feedback about my dish being cold. Also service was not very accommodating after we asked to change tables after being seated next to the restrooms even though the restaurant was basically empty.

Overpriced! First of all, they charge a 10% living wage fee which is ridiculous on top of the 20% tip. The tip is fine but the extra 10% is terrible. Only Italian restaurant that doesn't serve bread. The meatball appetizer was completely cold. When we told the waitress, she said she would tell the chef ....no new meatballs, no reheating the cold ones, and no taking it off the bill. Poor hospitality. They didn't accommodate a vegetarian guest, who had to pick around the crumbled sausage In her pasta. Food was not good. We paid $546.00 for mostly pasta dishes, a burger, and some chicken dishes, and a few drinks. Way overpriced. I will never ever go back. I regret going there for dinner.

the manager is so rude. The pizza was the worst I ever had. The bottom of the pizza was burned and the bread got a weird taste. The chicken parm was not good either. The price is like the restaurant in midtown manhattan which is not even worth it. I give one star just for the server. He is the only reason why we didn’t leave after the manager gave us attitude. I hope the owner can see this review and do some changes for this restaurant. The business is not gonna last long if it’s like this.

We won’t be back! Raw meatballs for appetizer, steak with terrible chimichurri sauce and extremely salty fries (like ridiculously salty), and a very dry broccoli rab with sausage pasta entree, all that I tasted was the sausage. We were beyond disappointed. Not sure if it’s under new management, new owners or a new chef…. But regardless, our bill (for 2 of us) was over $150, included their 10% cost of living fee (what!?!) and we left annoyed and hungry. Awful, def not worth it!!
