Great Oak Steakhouse is generally well-regarded, especially for special occasions. Customers rave about the steak, lobster, and service, with Ken and Rika specifically mentioned. Some found certain dishes overpriced or lacking flavor, and noise levels can be an issue.

Me and my business partner were staying here at Pechanga casino and decided to have a nice dinner here at Great Oak. We sat at the bar to watch the basketball games, the service was incredible. We ordered bone marrow as an appetizer and it was perfect. The tomahawk steak for 2 was also very good. I definitely recommend trying this place out.
Sophisticated and romantic steakhouse inside the Pechanga Casino. We reserved for 6:45 but couldn't make it til 7. It was too much traffic and we had difficulty finding the parking structure. Anyhow we're late but they were nice enough to accommodate us. Service was very friendly. Good was great. We ordered the bone marrow for appetizer, that was don delicious. Their bread basket is excellent. Steak and sea bass were fantastic. Portion are not huge and just right. Very romantic place I might add. Great for a night out for dinner and have some fun gambling!!!
The Great Oak has become my favorite steakhouse so far. We discover this place because we got a comp from the casino,So since we’re gonna spend the night why not try the food and we end up went there at least 4-5 times already. Food : Quality was great! Fresh! And steak cook the exact way you want it to cook (Which some other steakhouse can’t even get that right). My husband and I had the Wagyu Flights which cooked table side and it was amazing! Pork belly appetizer was great and pretty full filling as well. The star of the show that we love was Tristan Lobster,So fresh and fluffy! Or if you like crab legs,The king crab legs here are the size of my arm! The chef already crack it,So you just twisted it and enjoy! Service : Waiters and waitresses are always excellent! Make sure we got what we want and enjoy our meal! Vibe : Cozy romantic steakhouse. This place is quite pricey but the quality is worth it! So be prepare for that. Next time we get to go to Pechanga casino.Dinner at The Great Oak will always be my first choice as always.
Absolutely amazing I have to give my compliments to the chief. The steam was cooked to perfection, the lobster was served with savory butter and mushrooms that were absolutely delectable. The wine set the tone for the evening, Creme Brielle was beyond amazing and Rika our server was amazing, we enjoyed our dinner reservation tremendously. Happy Birthday my love to my beautiful wife. ❤️
In the corner booth beneath the low hum of the chandelier, I sat with a Tristan lobster tail and a silent ache in my chest. The world outside spun too fast, too sharp, too much. But here, at the Great Oak Steakhouse, time softened—thanks to Ken. Ken wasn’t just a server. He was a gentle constant in a world of chaos. With every chilled shrimp cocktail, he offered more than food—he brought peace, a subtle kind that doesn’t announce itself but quietly settles in. He remembered my name even when I was trying to forget it myself. He smiled like someone who had found a secret worth keeping. He didn’t pry. He didn’t preach. He just brought warm plates and cool comfort, over and over again. I never learned Ken’s story in full—only pieces. That he lived simply, that he loved to read, and that he dreamed of quiet mornings with books instead of menus. But I think that’s the thing about Ken. He’s not meant to be unraveled. He’s meant to be felt. He reminded me of a villager in Minecraft—steady, kind, undisturbed. He moved with purpose, but never pushed. I don’t know what Ken was trying to teach me, or even if he knew he was teaching at all. Maybe the lesson is in how he didn’t try. He just showed up. With kindness. With shrimp. With grace. Maybe that’s all we ever really need from anyone.
Fantastic all around. Staff was so incredibly nice seating us and wishing my wife and I a happy anniversary. Food was honestly top notch. Rivals the best steakhouses in LA. Might go back again tonight!!
I recently dined at Great Oaks Steakhouse, and it was absolutely fantastic. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection—so tender and flavorful that it practically melted in my mouth. The lobster tail was incredibly juicy, and the crab legs were massive and full of sweet, succulent meat. I was also thrilled to see that they brought back the Caesar salad and lobster mac and cheese, both of which were as delicious as I remembered. To top it off, the dessert was divine. This place is a must for anyone who loves a great steakhouse experience.
Our 1st time here per a friend's recommendation. It just got a remodel & it is beautifully simplistic. The food was great! Drinks were tasty & different. Service was very personable. Definitely would come back when in Temecula again.
The food was exceptional. We ordered the “Wagyu experience” which allows you to try 9oz total of 3 different cuts. It was cooked right in front of us which was pretty cool and all the more fresh. The service was amazing. Our waitress was very attentive and was able to also answer all of our questions. This place had the perfect ambiance for our wedding anniversary. We will be coming back soon. P.S. the food here is a la carte

Our server Maria was very attentive and provided excellent service. The Great Oak has been our favorite restaurant for years and although the menu is rather pricey they never cut corners with the quality of their entrees. We look forward to returning to the Great Oak soon.
I’ve been to the top rated steak houses all over the country and can say this place is the top 2. Always an experience coming here for dinner from the service to perfect porter house steak. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to have a special dinner
Has to be one of the best ribeye steaks I've had in a long time. And the steak butter took it over the top. 10/10 would do again.
Went back for a 2nd try last Tuesday and had a great experience. The Aged Ribeye was fantastic and cooked perfectly. They also have an off the menu kids menu and my son loved their sliders and fries. Their bread is divine as well. Much better service than the 1st try and I will definitely be back again for a special occasion.
Ethan and James, our waiter and busboy were excellent. James was very personable and knowledgeable. Excellent filet mignon, one of the best I've ever had. Cheers to the chefs. Chilean sea bass was to die for! Beautifully clean and modern atmosphere, very calming.
we had a wonderful dinner served by Melanie. she is the best and always serves with a genuine smile.
Place is newly renovated. Looks elegant and modern. The food is so good! Try the different types of steakhouse. You can’t go wrong with anything you pick. The cocktails are good as well. The black gold Martini is good!
Everything was absolutely amazing! Our server, Andrew, made recommendations for the wine and appetizers and even the steak and he was spot on!!! Great atmosphere, amazing service, and superb food!!! Best steak we’ve ever had! If you visit, request Andrew as your server and you won’t be disappointed! He’s amazing!
The service is outstanding! Hats off to the chefs. The steak and Chilean sea bass were cooked to perfection. Lobster mac was good choice for our side. Oh and yes, the cocktails are good too. This is an upscale restaurant so the prices are what they are. I definitely recommend if you're celebrating with your significant other.
Excellent food! The wagyu was delicious and our server, Andrew was great.
We had the best waiter - Eaton! He was very friendly and helpful. The hostess Halina gave us the best table in the house because it was our friend’s special day. Great staff! It is as important as the food. We will definitely go back! THANK YOU!
Food, staff, drinks, ambiance were all incredible. My wife and I came for our 17 year anniversary dinner. We shared the dinner for 2 tomahawk. It was literal perfection. But the highlight of the night was meeting Chef David. He greeted us with some samples of appetizers and good conversation. He made an already awesome experience even better.
This restaurant is nestled in Pechanga Casino and is so beautiful on the inside. It is dark with beautiful table lighting. The service was top tier! The crab fritters were delicious. Shrimp cocktail was very fresh. My absolute favorite starter was the French onion soup. The onions were sweet. The broth was comforting. I had the sea bass and wow did it deliver! The outside had a slight crisp from the pan it was seared in and it was so soft and melt in your mouth. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the sides it came with but we ordered all the sides listed on the menu and so glad we did. The mushrooms side was my favorite. The Brussels sprouts with the bacon had a great balance of sweet and savory. To finish everything off we had the butter cake. Not a crumb was left behind it was so soft, buttery and divine! Highly recommend. Oh yes, everyone else had steaks and left stuff and happy!
Dinner at the Great Oak Steakhouse was satisfying. While I was a little skeptical to make reservations after reading some recent less than stellar reviews. We were pleasantly surprised by our dining experience. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and enoyed our side dishes. James, our waiter, was thorough and was attentive without being smothering. There were no complaints about the prices. If the prices didn't fit our budget, then we didn't consider purchasing it. Luckily, we were celebrating a special occasion in which we splurged a little. Our cocktails as James put it "will get the job done." He was on par about our drinks, which were perfectly balanced. No complaints from the hostess to wait staff and manager. The restaurant has recently undergone renovations with warm decor. I would recommend the Great Oak Steakhouse to anyone looking for a great dining experience in the Temecula Valley.
Steak was delicious and worth every penny! Asparagus was ok. Bread n butter was ok. But the steak makes up for that. We had 1 steak medium rare and the other well done. For being a well done steak it was still tender and juicy. I was impressed. They didn’t need any butter or anything added for flavor. It was delicious.
David our waiter and bartender was amazing. We sat at the table in the bar area and the service and professionalism was second to none. Thank you so much for an awesome experience. Everyone was so friendly from the hostess when we got there. Top Shelf. Great Oak is the best and don’t get me started on the amazing seafood platter and Wagyu Rib Eyes. Just amazing. We will be back soon
Wow! Where do I start? This place is truly immaculate. The new renovations are stunning and it really gives this place an elevated luxurious setting. The staff and service is impeccable. There are plenty of people walking around making sure you water glass is full, checking in on you from afar and ensuring your meal is to your satisfaction. Our server, Rika, was truly a gem and she was wonderful to have. Ethan was also very helpful and nice as well. The food.. I am mind blown. The food is out of this world good and I can’t wait to come back already! The Chicken entree was so succulent and it was roasted to my hearts content. The lobster bisque was very creamy and my Bostonian mother said it was the best she’s ever had. The 21 day aged bone-in rib eye with crab Oscar sauce was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The wedge salads are fun to look at and delicious to eat. The crab fritters were excellent as well! Of course, you can’t go wrong with the sides they offer. Overall, my impression is this place has got it going on. It is easily the best restaurant in the Temecula/Murrieta area, and is absolutely the spot to “wow” someone. I can’t wait to be back!
It was our first time. We ended up eating our dinner at the bar. It was excellent food and service! Thank you Mark for serving us and sharing some history on this restaurant. We will definitely be back!
The diver scallops and the lamb chops were GREAT. The espresso martini is a must if you drink."
My husband brought me here for my birthday and it has to be one of the best dinners I've ever had. The steaks were cooked deliciously and their sides were extremely good on top of their flavorful drinks. It does help that it's inside of a casino surrounded by shopping, spas, hotels and a golf course. This is a place for vacationing although we are locals, I would visit again for a weekend trip either with friends or a spouse, your guaranteed to enjoy the food and the atmosphere 100%
Celebrated my parents anniversary. The staff was awesome. The service was great. They all wished them a happy anniversary. The steaks was done to perfection. Yes, I had to sample my parents entree 😂 The 40oz porterhouse my wife and I had (yes, served as dinner for two) melted in your mouth. The sides were sides, nothing spectacular, but were good.
This is a cool place. I sat at the bar because i was by myself, but walked through the dining room a couple times and it’s a really nice place. Made some friends at the bar. The food was excellent and the staff was even better. Good time.
I had a great experience with Great Oaks' new restaurant (remodeled), with great vibes and an amicable staff. (Some measurements need to be adjusted. It’s just got reopened, so they need more time. I’ll be no picky on that.) I had a tomahawk Ribeye steak 🥩 175$. I asked the chef to do a medium well, and the chef executed it very well. It was fantastic food. I liked the dessert menu. It was so balanced chocolate with bloody orange sherbet ice cream. I’ll leave a picture for a reference.
We had an office Christmas dinner here last month. Everyone really enjoyed themselves, the food was great and the service was on point. We had several appetizers and various main courses. Everything was delicious.
The Great Oak is a must visit @pechangacasino in Temecula, CA. I had quite the experience, and they had several options to choose from. If you visit, ask for Laurence as he is well versed in providing a very detailed explanation of the dishes. He may even tell the origin of where food comes from. We started out with the Great Oak Martini. This definitely a sipping drinking. It was a smooth drink and one can definitely feel tipsy if you are a light weight. I suggest starting out with the Crudo. It is a combination of Snake River Farms Wagyu, Blue Fin tuna belly with a side of black ailoli and chili crunch placed on the tuna. This was recommended by Chef Manny. Everything we had was superb and delicious in flavor. I really enjoyed the 6 oz Kagoshima Ribeye. It had nice balance of meat and fat. It was extremely tender. My palate was rejoicing in every bite. Here is what feasted on. Absolutely new favorite restaurant! We love this steakhouse. It’s inside the Pechanga Casino. The ambience was perfect for taking my love out to dinner. Open floor with normal tables through the center that sat 4 to 6 people. The couples got to sit along the outsides in these semi-circle and semi-Private booths. Service-outstanding. Arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation and was seated immediately. Greeted quickly by a man named Cruze and got some fresh bread with truffle butter (this bread is so good! It was soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside as well as shaped like a muffin. Best bread I’ve ever had), waters, and beverage orders. Our server was Lindsay and she was outstanding. She gave us her recommendations on the fish selection and steak section. She also showed us their date night for two special. Food - wow! Worth every penny! The quality of the food is ridiculous and the attention to detail is unmatched. We order two sides, Au Gratin Potatoes and Brussel Sprouts. The Au Gratin had perfect crunchy and chard areas of the cheese on top of the potatoes. Brussel sprouts were the best we have ever had and we get them often. They are sitting in a Pomegranate Molasses which was a perfect amount of sweet and tart which matched really well with the savory Asiago Cheese sprinkled on top. So delicious! Dinner was next and Sarah got The free range chicken for $34.00, served with sweet potatoes, Tuscan Kale, and mustard jus sauce. Juicy and tender and delicious. The kale! I don’t even like Kale or at least it’s one of my least favorites and this is cooked so good and that sauce ties it all together. Another home run! I ordered the 14oz New York Strip for $58.00, med rare, with a red wine reduction sauce , and a side roasted garlic bulb sitting a top of mashed potatoes. Cooked perfectly, and paired great with the reduction sauce. Mouthwatering steak! So good. For dessert, we ordered Butter Cake, which sat on top of a good portion of Salted Caramel, Maple Pecan ice scream , and whipped cream. This was to die for and officially topped off an already amazing evening with my love! 100% top steakhouse
Amazing food and service. Special shout out to our waiters especially Anthony who went above and beyond. Recommend this steak house. Great vibes and food!
This is one of my top 5 steakhouses of all time. The service is amazing. Food is so good my mouth is watering from thinking about it. The steaks are so tender and delicious. I love the risotto and au grauten potatoes are so good i sometimes just get a order of those. I've had the Porterhouse for 2 and it was literally the biggest steak I have ever seen. Always cooked perfectly to your liking. Well worth the trip if you only come for the food.
Dessert was good atmosphere was okay service well I had to wait over 1 hr and 20mins to get a Reservation. When I came back for my reservation the people who just walk in didn't need one. Question I believe they are very selective on who they would like to have in there Restaurant. I was well dressed and in a suit and was a gentleman. But Obviously wasn't good enough... Put aside this and there dessert was okay cheesecake factory is better. Will be leaving a yelp review regarding service and how they make some people wait well others just come in..
Dined here just this past Saturday, on the way to an event at one of the local wineries. First time returning in almost 10 years and it was OUTSTANDING. The food, the service, the ambiance and the overall quality of the experience were worthy of way more than 5 stars. We will definitely be returning in the near future. Thanks to the staff for making our visit memorable.
Our waitress Melani was excellent! She was very friendly and pleasant. This was our very first time going to Great Oaks Steakhouse. Melani was very happy that we decided to go there on our 9th year wedding anniversery. We had the Filet Mignon, Salmon and Lamb. All were excellent! We have been to Hell's Kitchen Las Vegas & Old Hickory at Gaylord Resort San Diego. They were superb, but Great Oaks is better & is now our NUMBER 1 Steakhouse! And the Butter Cake was awesomely delicious.
Reservations are definitely recommended. We arrived early for our reservation and waited in the seating area until the restaurant opened for the day, and saw countless persons get turned away because they were booked solid for the night. The tables seat two and can be put together, so as long as you have the right reservation, your group can probably be as large as you want. For appetizers, we chose the bread service, crab cake fritters, and lobster bisque. The bisque does not come with bread or any pastries, but has a lot of lobster meat within the soup itself. While it wasn't the best lobster bisque I've ever had, it was very savory. The fritters were nice and crispy and also had good flavor. The cream corn left a bit to be desired, as it could have been a lot better and felt slimy. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly, and paired together well with the asparagus and the steak. Ours was cooked to perfection, and was just the right amount. The butter cake was sweet. Service was very good, as our drinks were constantly refilled and the table was constantly cleared. One big plus is that they have quite a few chairs that don't have armrests on the sides, so it's very fluffy-people friendly.

We knew this place was on the pricey side, but $38 for just very small six oysters felt a bit over the top. The food was good and the atmosphere was beautiful, no doubt about that. However, our evening was kind of overshadowed by our server’s overly fake cheerful attitude — the kind of “over-friendly” small talk she was doing at every table. It just felt unnatural and a bit exhausting to listen to. Overall, it was a nice experience to try once, but I probably wouldn’t come back.
It's excellent service and service mind staffs. The food we order is acceptable. King crab leg is salty for me but my husband like it. Salmon is good. Side dish Brussels sprouts is like in the picture it seem like it's burn but it's not burned yet. So it make the taste weird foe me.

Excellent steak, excellent potatoes. I didn't care for the asparagus very much, and the Caesar salad was just average despite previous reviews mentioning it was awesome. The waitress was very very salesy which was a bit of a turnoff, but I'm sure it's due to the location and typical guests who may have tons of money to blow. Overall, above average, but a Del Frisco's or a Ruth's Chris is a better stop.
I had not been the Great Oak since the remodel. I was pleasantly surprised that the place looks awesome. Service was good. The food was overall good but not great. I had the sea bass and it was great! My wife had the Filet Mignon asked for medium rare. It was more medium and edges were basically well done. We were hungry and my wife said it was tender enough to eat it as is. It was have been much better medium rare. The main thing I was not to happy about were the prices. It's a overpriced in my opinion and they brought a bread basket without telling us that it cost $14, which we found out by looking at the menu. It used to be complimentary. First cocktail took a bit longer than expected so I didn't like waiting about 15 min for first cocktail. It was not busy so not sure why it took so long. Overall it was enjoyable and I do plan on going back. Love Pechanga casino and entertainment afterwards.
Ordered a filet mignon and it was cooked perfectly. But there was no flavor so we asked for steak sauce. Ordered the side of lobster Mac which was supposed to be shareable but it was small. Then they charge for bread, sauce and anything else they can. Service was great and a good atmosphere but for $250 for two people I'd go somewhere else.
I’ve been here 5+ times and food quality is consistently great. The steaks (which I always order) are always cooked to a perfect medium rare just the way I like it. Considering appetisers, the baked Brie is delicious! Wine menu is 4/5 with their selection, so not bad. Service from waiters/waitresses is also pretty consistent though during busier hours you might have to ask twice to get what you want. All in all, a great steakhouse worth a visit if you’re at Pechanga.
Decided to give them another try to see if changes from 2023 were updated and I was happy to see progress! Another salad, Caesar was brought back... Soups, Onion and lobster bisque were brought back. I got the onion soup, it was VERY SALTY, I hope the chef tries it himself because I wasn't able to finish it. I normally enjoy my French onion soup. Pork chop (1) was good and def shareable. It is funny that their steak sauce is $6 for a small dipping size, why!?! They give hot sauce but charge for all other sauces? Buy A1 steak sauce and provide, taste much better! The shrimp cocktail, shrimps were dry/fishy smell, didn't finish it.. we came to visit our fav waitress, Rika, but she was off. Joe was really nice, but was very busy with bigger tables to focus on us two people.. Updated: 8/31/24 Always such a treat to come here for special occasions and getting served by my favorite waitress and staff, Rika and Jennifer, and the hostesses at the front, they are so friendly and welcoming, Roma and another sweet gal with long curls. I will come here if these gals are here, they make it so much more enjoyable. I love that they greet me and know me by name. So thank you! See you again.
Went their for my wedding anniversary. My husband had a reservation for a Sunday at 6 pm. We got seated immediately. A server came by shortly to bring us water. Water was filled up VERY often it was a bottomless cup. A different server came by shortly after thst to introduce herself and took our drink order. It took almost 20 min to get our first drink. Finished it in about 30 min. The server didn’t show up again for another 10 ish min after we finished those to see if we wanted another drink. Took exactly an hr and 13 min to get our food. The food was AMAZING! Perfect filet mignon, perfect aged ribeye. The sides were great! The Brocollini was just a little salty but still good. The drinks were also incredible. Did not feel any discrimination just a little slow service a side from the water fill up. Don’t show up super hungry, you will be waiting. This is definitely not a high end place, it’s a step above casual. Nice date, low light ambiance. Appropriately priced. Spent just about $400 for 2 people but it was a lot of food and had 3 drinks each. Had lots of steak all around the world and these were cooked perfectly. Will be back for more!
The food was great, I think the environment could be better. I also didn’t like how our silverware was just sat on the table, it didn’t even have a table cloth on it. It took forever for us to get us our food as well and the restaurant didn’t even look half full.
First time coming here: made reservations through Open Table and my table was ready when I arrived. The place is quite dark but it does add some romance to the experience. The bread they serve before the appetizer is okayish, I'm not sure what I was expecting but it was definitely lacking flavor. However, the food itself was delicious. We got the "Dinner for Two" and my filet mignon was tender and juicy and the Diane sauce tasted so good with my side of mushrooms. I also ordered a Watermelon Mojito and it tasted great! I've tried a lot of mojitos but this one was definitely on my top. Overall my experience was good, the waitress was great and all the staff that helped us had great customer service.
We stopped by Oak steakhouse for dinner me and my family. I ordered Seabass and we also ordered several steaks.. The Sea bass itself was good however, I did not really particularly like the sauce that it was drenched in. It was not very flavorful, and it had like an aftertaste that I did not enjoy. The steaks were delicious. We ordered medium steaks, and somehow they were not all medium some of them were more rare than the others but overall the steaks were flavorful juicy. The service was OK. The person that took our order was not the same person that brought our orders out so we were wondering if we had received the dishes we ordered because we ordered several dishes that were identical and I had asked for my food to be cooked differently due to my allergies, we were left wondering if I had the right dish or not. The salad and bread was good.
I would give 1 star, but the manager came over and was very nice and saved their 1 star and changed it to a 3 star. We had reservations for 7pm. Got there at 6:50. Hostess told us we are just clearing the table now and then you'll be sat. Looking around the room there were no empty tables and nobtable reserved whatsoever. She told us we could ho sit in the bar and wait. Went into the bar and there was no room and the bar top was full, so we came back and stood in the entry way. She proceeded to sit 4 different groups that came in after us like she either forgot about us or was completely ignoring us. I felt completely disrespected, ignored, and unwelcome. Her lack of professionalism was profound. I definitely would not have her working up front in my establishment or at least have her go back thru some hospitality training. She was completely clueless and not fine tuned for a fine dining establishment. Your hostess is giving a first impression. Also, the lack of the reservation was appalling. How can you not have a table reserved for someone who reserved a table? Were you just hoping people got up around 7? Don't even waste your time with a reservation because it doesn't mean anything to them and they sit you when they feel like it. This also was super disrespectful like my reservation meant absolutely nothing to them. When we got the food I didn't even receive the steak I ordered. We both ordered bone in aged ribeyes and he received a bone in while I received the larger portion, not aged, with no bone. The manager asked if our food was OK and I told him I received the wrong steak and that I had ordered the bone in aged steak. He replied with well I can go back and check and try to find you a bone? A bone? What am I, a dog? You made a mistake and sent the wrong item, not my fault. Offered a bone? Unreal. He did comp our sides of lobster mac and cheese and brussels sprouts and offered crème brûlée. This was not asked for, but completely appreciated and raised them from a 1 star to a 3 star otherwise overall experience was dreadful. Any communication whatsoever from the hostess would have been polite and helpful. Like , hey several people had reservations at 645 so I am going to go ahead and seat everyone that comes in after you in front of you or something to this effect rather than just being ignored and skipped over. Food was wonderful. Steak cooked perfect. Dessert was excellent. Cleanliness and atmosphere were great and out server was on point.

Used to be my favorite restaurant, this week though the experience was not good. First off they made us wait 30 minutes after our reservation cause the table was not ready for a party of 5, the worst part was we were skipped for a party of 6. I felt it was disrespectful and made my party and I feel less than. We were about to walk out and they finally put us on an open table. No bison no lamb and none of the wine or champagne I ordered was available. Waited another hour just to be served. Empty salt shakers took 15 minutes to get salt. I will be taking my business elsewhere for a 600 dollar dinner I would expect better and have had much better service here in the past. the quality of service has gone down. Will be taking my business elsewhere. Oh wait there is more! They have the nastiest tap water and for a place trying to be high scale they should get filtration unless it was intentional since I complained about the treatment and wait. Suspicious
We have been to quite a few high end steak houses and the remodel of the steakhouse is very nice and our servicer Victor was amazing ! But the food was not a five star experience I must admit that everything tasted like it was soaked literally in butter . The filet minion was not of a high end cut as we are used to. The sea bass was slimy and again tasted like it was soaked in butter as well as the mashed potatoes looks runny . The max and cheese was decent. I’m just so disappointed you guys can do better especially for the prices ! Again Victor was amazing
I had been there many times with my family. Today i faced discrimination??? The new resturant concept looks nicely asthetic, they came to my table many times to ask if everything was fine during dinner, and it was. BUT i asked the waiter for jalapeños and she said “we do not have any jalapeños” so i said that, that was very sad, she then sended the manager a minute later to ask if everything was fine. Honestly, Mexican people as many other respectable cultures like to eat with jalapenos or spicy stuff; any way food was good, waiter asked again if everything was fine, i replied yes but it would be better with jalapeños, and then she sent me the manager to ask if everything was fine again, with a total of three times, i suspect the manager was showing up beacuse i said jalapeños! well three diferent times the manager shows to my table “who cares you know, its his table in the end” NOW! On his last stop he said WE DO NOT CARRY JALPEÑOS BECAUSE WE ARE A VERY HIGH END RESTAURANT. That really upset me! (but i didnt argue or say anything about it to them) because thats straight up discrimination. Or maybe im wrong, and the manager has to come up to his table and give me an American lesson of how low class people that eat spicy jalapeños is!!!! are jalapeños only for poor low class citizens? Any way I dont know. I never ask for a social status class, lesson in of my family, based on how spicy I eat. Any way we pay a $400 tap plus a TIP. Tnx for the forensic exponation describing my family economic boundaries. Pechanga, i think you are a world different, than that, great to be here for 14 years gambeling everytime. 12/27/2023
Overall food was pretty good. Service was good. Main issue was we paid for the tomohawk steak for two about $170. Listed as 38oz, the actual steak we got was maybe 12oz. Very small for two people specially when spending that much for a steak. And the fact that they charge $9 for a small bread basket just seems wrong when spending that much on a meal. Food was good but portions are no where near in line with cost.0
This was one of our favorite restaurants before the remodel. Tonight was our first time visiting after they re-opened. The atmosphere was very different and much more of an open concept now somewhat loud. The menu has completely changed. My husband’s $60 New York steak was tough. I asked if I could get my salmon just grilled and the chef said no,so I ordered a salad and the salad dressing tasted bad. I took one bite and didn’t finish it. The service was excellent lots of help and attention to the customers. My only complaint is the food and I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere before the remodel.
The customer service is great however the steak is average so is the salad and the mash potatoes. The salmon I recommend they do charge you for a bread basket. Is this restaurant worth the money no I rather go to cheese cake you'll get the same results at a much lower price. The atmosphere at this restaurant is loud making it difficult to talk to friends and family at your table.
Was there on 9/21/24 with close friends for drinks at the lounge. Was actually greeted and given a table by a very nice gentleman Daniel who immediately helped us and sat all 8 of us. We ordered drinks with a nice young lady I believe Ashley.( I do not remember) As we enjoyed drinks and great music sung by a older man there I noticed a manager Francisco that came to greet us at the table a bit after we were seated, He was just walking around wesring glasses, i swear those glasses have cameras built in them, the way he was looking around, in mismatched clothing and stood making hand gestures at the man singing like telling him to lower his tone or something but really rudely something we all saw!! I felt badly!! I noticed him making other workers uncomfortable too as he just walked by made us a bit weirded out,so we finished our drinks and left. I've been there with my family and friends a few times, never felt so weird.
For an upscale restaurant the presentation leaves much to be desired. The staff needs to follow the lead at the Willows at Chumash Resort and Casino. The prices match at both restaurants but the ambiance, presentation at the Wilows is much better as is the menu. Send someone up there to check it out. My wife, myself and a friend ate there on Wednesday for my 91st birthday and won't be going back.
Having dined here many times over the years, we were looking forward to a great meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was generally excellent except for a bearnaise sauce that had the texture of cake batter. Great steaks. The service, however, was very disappointing. This is simply feedback so that they can work on improving to a high standard: 1. Arrived for our 9pm reservation to find it somewhat busy but plenty of open tables. The hostesses couldn't find their way out of a paper bag and we waited until 920 to be seated. 2. Waited 10 minutes for a server to show up and offer us drinks that we had already requested from a helper. We were brought the same drinks twice. 3. Appetizers arrived but not as we had requested and we had to ask for a spoon for our soup. (Minor details but this is in an effort to help) 4. We finished our appetizers and then waited over 30 minutes for our steaks to arrive. 5. We were then informed that this was by design as we had ordered appetizers in a tone that basically was blaming us for the slow service. 6. Even after this we still tipped the waitress $50 as we don't want to hold her accountable by herself but no one thanked us for our business as we finally left. In summary, it appears to be poorly managed and service standards are about as good as the other restaurants at Pechanga - below a 4 Star resort standard....
When we first arrived we were seated in a room in the back. Not much atmosphere in the room. There was piano music playing in another room but when they closed the door you could not hear it. The service was good when we firstbsat down. The waiter came over and took time to go over our questions regarding the food and wine list. We ordered the bread basket to hold us over. A bit disappointed in it. There were 4 of us but only 2 of each bread selection. There were a total of 6 pieces of bread and 2 flat breads. Ordered a Ceasar salad that never came out. After the meal was served and we started to eat the waiter came over with fresh silverware and steak knives. The food was good. Ordered 2 chillean sea bass and it was delicious. The texture was good and it was flakey. Also ordered the porterhouse steak for 2. It was good. Unfortunately the steak knives arrived after the food came out. If the service had been better I would have given more stars. But the service is a large part of the meal Don't know if we will be back.
Steak was delicious but everything else about the experience was a little off. We waited to be seated even though we had a reservation. The theme of the evening seemed to be “waiting”. We waited awhile for first contact from our server, then waited over 20 minutes for our drinks. Then waited for our food. By the time the food came we’d been there for an hour and fifteen minutes. We asked for a little more butter for our bread and were told yes but it never came. Then we waited to ask for a box and then waited for our check for a long time after asking for it. Maybe they were short staffed. But there were at least 3 or 4 managerial types in suits that I never saw make eye contact with customers or try to help the servers. We witnessed another tables steak being boxed up by an employee that used his bare hands to remove the steak from the plate and put it in a box, I’m sorry, that’s wild. Just let me do it myself if you’re going to use your bare hands, that’s so gross. I cut the rest of my steak into pieces so he couldn’t handle my steak with his hands when I got a box. I’m usually super forgiving of off nights at restaurants have served for many years myself and next to never write less than 5 star reviews, if I don’t have something nice to say I’m not going to say anything at all. But this is just too much money to spend at $100+ per person to not have stellar service to go along with it.

Steak was too dry. Ordered 2 steaks, one that they said had a lot of marbling and the other a little marbling. Both came in too charred and too dry, no fats at all. Only end up eating for 3-5 minutes (regarding steak only) before we decided the food was not worth it. Tasted a lot of good steakhouses, some higher priced than here and some lesser priced, but still this is a one star experience for the taste. Even the asparagus not so much. Talked to the manager about it and they took it off our bill. Lobster bisque was good though. Ambience wise its pretty.

The Great Oak Steakhouse is a beautiful restaurant, it has great ambiance that is perfect for date night. However, the food is terrible, the service is slow and our drinks took 20 minutes to come out. We went for drinks and appetizers, we decided to order food. It was a mistake. The Great Oak clearly mistook fine dinning for uppity. Ambiance is not worth the price. Sadly disappointing, i will give this place a second chance and update my review.
Went to Great Oak steakhouse last night for the first time at the recommendation of a good friend who frequents this restaurant. Unfortunately we will not be going back. We arrived for our reservation time and was asked to wait for a table to be finished which they were busy I get it. We eventually were seated and waited a long while until a gentleman came up and gave us water and bread. About 20minutes later our waitress came and took our drink order. A long while later she came back to take our order. I would say it was at least over 45minutes before order was taken from the time we sat down. Our food came out almost an hour after we ordered and it was cold. My sauteed mushroom side was rubbery and my steak was barely warm but did taste good. The food would have been amazing if it was hot. The flavors were there. The service was very poor. I've never experianced service like this especially for a $200 bill. Our entire time there was 3 hours and we only ordered a starter and an entree. I would have said something to the manager but it appeared he had his hands full managing other complaints from patrons. It could have been an off for them but seriously for this much for dinner this shouldnt be happening.
We went for dinner with a party of 6. The remodel was very nice. The menu was fairly boring and just like any old school steakhouse...cream corn, cream spinach ect...only really 3 cuts of steak...filet, ribeye or strip....unless you count a porter house. .wedge salad was a joke...portions were small and prices high...and they overcooked the steaks and they butcher them at least 2-3 ounces light. ..they server was friendly but they messed up my cocktail 2 times in a row...vodka soda is pretty simple! The manager was dry and unfriendly...this was a special occasion for my wife's birthday as well. Totally average and forgettable! Not worth the money for selection, quality or taste!
They are supposed to serve angus prime and dry aged angus prime. We ordered two ribeyes. One aged and one regular prime. Instead got a new York steak and ribeye. Both far from prime. Dry, chewy and a total waste of money besides being a wrong order. They have a limited menu, maybe two pages and half of the items are MP. So asked twice "mystery price" of the wagu beef and received different prices each time we asked. Im not saying they were just making it up but we were quoted over 200 bucks for 6 ounces of wagu steak. That's a little too much when you can't even make a ribeye taste good. Im glad we didn't try it. Went to stater bros the next day, grabbed two prime ribeyes, 22 bucks a pound, tossed them.on a hot grill just to show my wife what quality steak tastes like. Amazing. Night and day compared to the select grade they toss on a plate for 80 bucks. Very disappointed, emailed them before leaving a review and no surprise, no reply. We won't be back.
I first came here in 2022 for my college graduation and it instantly became my favorite steakhouse. I always try to come here every time I visit my mom In Temecula (I live in San Diego), there’s plenty of great steakhouses over there but I keep coming back to this one, mainly because of their Lobster Mac and cheese, I can’t find any other place with better Lobster Mac ! The service was always great as well, as of recently my last Two visits have not been the best, especially with having a reservation and waiting 30 mins plus to be seated .. and that’s after letting the Hosts know about how long we been waiting. I made a quick last min reservation today on Mother’s Day for 9 pm And was seated at least 30 mins after reservation and that’s after letting them know I been waiting, and even then we still waited at least 10 mins more. The moment we got seated, we were asked if we wanted water and bread basket and we said yes and we recieved out waters but no bread basket and we had to ask and remind we haven’t recieved our bread and it took over 15 mins plus to recieve the bread basket. We didn’t have our main meal until after an hour we sat at our table. And the main time we weren’t told any updates or anything. Highly disappointed, especially because it’s meant to be a nice restaurant. My mom and I did appreciate the complimentary dessert they brought out the end. That completely changed after our waiter no longer was attending us, and some other waiter had to give us our check and let us know. (I still tipped our waiter 20+ percent) Criticism isn’t meant to be taken offensively it’s more for improvement. Sad that I’m considering not coming back, especially because this was a special day, Mother’s Day..
Great Oak Steakhouse was a disappointment. Our server was great and was the only highlight of our evening. We had a group of 4 and everyone ordered something different. Not one person was happy with their meal. Steaks were tough and not cooked properly, soup was not warm, salad was missing ingredients and dressing. For over $100 a person I would expect fine dining quality and this was not. The room itself is wide open and makes it too loud to enjoy a relaxing evening.
My husband and I visit every anniversary and were initially excited when Great Oak Steakhouse re-opened after their remodel. I went in optimistic, but was taken aback by the new menu. The once complementary bread is now gone and they want to charge you $14 for bread. Everything was more expensive, while portions became smaller. Food was okay, but after spending over $500 it was disappointing that we left still hungry. I miss the romantic coziness of the old Great Oak.
The host staff was very friendly and accommodated our request for a reservation for later in the same day and when we arrived was great in getting us seated. The downfall of this visit is that we ordered our food pretty quickly and sat there for over 30 minutes waiting. During this time we were never acknowledged on when the food was coming or any delay in the food. We only ordered 2 steaks and 2 sides. It appears there was a manager working as well and the two of us clearly displayed signs of dissatisfaction and it was not until we decided to leave that the server was walking up with the food only saying that the food had arrived and offered no apology. It was a horrible experience. We would not have minded the wait if we were acknowledged, but they fell short in service and we decided to still leave.
This is nothing but an overpriced steakhouse calling itself a fine dining establishment. The food is way overpriced and nothing special. Trust me, we have travelled the world and this is not a high class establishment. The atmosphere was horrible when we went there. I couldn't even talk to my wife over the table full of drunks next to us yelling to each other. The establishment and waiter did nothing to quiet them down and provide a good atmosphere for the patrons!!!! It would have been more enjoyable to eat at Chuck-e-cheese! For over $300, it was definitely not worth it. Save your money and go to the Lone Star.
My wife and I have been a guest at the Great Oak Restaurant since it's opening. We eaten there on every holiday at least 30 to forty times. The food and service was excellent for years. We have witnessed the decline in each are for at lest 2 years. On Mother's day this time we were extremely disappointed. When I made my reservation. Due to my 100% disability I personally asked for a booth. I was taken to a table I refused it. did not get a booth for 10 to 15 minutes. After that We were ignored for 35 minutes after we were seated. I asked a young lady picking up dishes if she could get us a server. 5 minutes later a server arrived. I ordered my usual bottle of Pinot Noir. We ordered our favorite salad. which was terrible. It was very small. We received our shrimp cocktail. Stale. We ordered out steak. It was burnt. I do not understand how a restaurant could go from excellent to terrible in such a short time. I am a very patient man I was polite the entire time. I spent well over $390.00 as usual. I do not mind as long as we are treated well. I still tipped the server $50.00. Too bad .I am so sad.
Our first time and probably our last. Sat bar since that was quicker to get into. Bartenders were great, but waited almost an hour for food that was just meh. French onion soup was great but salmon didn’t wow me like I’d expected & lobster Mac and cheese lacked flavor.. not to mention we heard multiple people complain about their food. We’ll stick to Umi.

I want to share my disappointing experience during my anniversary dinner. We asked for a quiet spot, but instead, we were seated next to a loud group with young children, which made it hard to enjoy our evening. The food was not good at all. The chicken was tough and hard to chew, and some of the dishes seemed undercooked. To make matters worse, I ended up with food poisoning from one of their special meals, which made me feel horrible for two days. I definitely won’t be going back to this restaurant, and I can’t recommend it to anyone. There’s more I could say, but I’ll just summarize by saying that this meal ruined our anniversary, and we never received any apology or follow-up from them. Overall, it was an awful experience. To make matters worse I have to admit yes we paid for a meal that got me sick for two days.

Came in with a group of 12 at 9am looking to have a good meal. Despite women having open toed shoes I was told I couldn't be seated in my open toed shoes. Had to go back to room to change shoes to return to restaurant and point out handful of other men wearing open toed shoes to manager. Got sorry, not sorry attitude from manager. Obviously I was irritated. I stayed for the next hour and a half wait for everyone to get their food and left when it finally arrived. Wasn't going to give them my money. Can't tell you if food was any good but management and service get 1 star because I couldn't select zero stars.
Disappointing! Been one of our favorites for years. Remodel is beautiful but revamped menu sucks! Whose idea was this? They no longer offer surf & turf, lobster Mac n cheese, Cesar salad, French onion soup, crab cakes, shrimp Cocktail, and other signature dishes. The fillet was excellent but lobster was served with hummus and avocado looking sauce rather than drawn butter. Was not good! They now charge $14 for bread which we paid for and the garlic rolls were doughy in the middle. We’ve gone probably 4x’s a year for years but we’ll never go back!
These clowns had an empty restaurant with nobody there at 5p. We had no reservation and the person at the podium told us that the next available table would be 7:30p. We sad at the bar outside the restaurant for over 1 hour and only a hand full of people went in. I asked again if a table was available, and his answers was ... nothing before our 7:30p. I asked him why he couldn't seat us since very few tables were taken, and he basically ignored my question. If the restaurant had been busy I could understand his hesitation to give us a table, but there was nobody there. Even the staff was standing around conversing with one another instead of serving customers. Ouch, customers and tips lost due to bad management. We are also players at Harrah's and finally went there for their Prime Rib ... and it was awesome. They had no problem seating us without a reservation and their restaurant was a lot busier than Great Oaks. Would HIGHLY recommend Harrah's and their Prime Rib ... a great Casino with exceptional Customer Service. BTW, we had Great Oaks' Rib Eye & Fillet Mignon before ... certainly nothing to write home about. I'm glad they didn't have a table for us and we went to Harrah's instead ... a much better choice as far as I'm concerned. This casino is very willing to take your money, perhaps they should spend some of that money on training their staff in customer service ... because the idiot I encountered wouldn't be working for me. MANAGEMENT - if you are reviewing these posts, the idiot I'm referring to was at the podium (receiving customers) on Friday 1/21/22 at 5p. In this competitive environment, I highly recommend that he get some training before you lose more of your customers.
Just came in to the new Green Oak steakhouse. What a disappointment I cannot believe they changed their old menu no longer carry lobster mac & cheese. They do not have the Japanese A5 wagu that is sliced individually. They do not have A1 steak sauce they don’t even have Caesar salad or croutons. Not to mention they charge for bread …What kind of steak House is this I don’t know who came up with the idea of changing the menu with this is a big mistake. I will not be returning here.
We went a year ago, and it was amazing. Today, it was horrible. Got the filet mignon medium well. It came black and blue, got the ribeye black and blue, and it was well. The waiters tell you the sides are shareable, but the size has decreased significantly. It wasn't shareable. The bread was cold and hard. The butter cake used to be my favorite part. The texture changed, the flavor changed, and again, they said it's bigger than last years cake, and as a matter of fact, it was not. For the four of us, it was 600$, and I think we would have been better going to Mastros. I'm so disappointed!
The worse experience I have ever had at a more upscale restaurant. We waited over an hour for our meal. Mine arrived cold. The manager barely responded to our issues. The only bright spot was our waiter, Andrew, who apologized several times for all our issues. We paid over 450 dollars for a mediocre meal. Will never go back. Please don't waste your money.
It’s very disappointing to go to a high end steak house and have NO allergy info on the menu, NONE of the staff was informed on ingredients and the server was completely unwilling to make adjustments. I’ve been to plenty high end steakhouses and this was the worst experience I’ve had after dropping over $500 on a dinner. side note last time I went to Eddie V’s I got diarrhea and still had a better experience.
