Amazing view and atmosphere and I love the seasonal/changing menu. The manager Evan made sure we had an amazing night and despite a busy restaurant, the staff and service were fantastic, especially Christian. My favorite place to take out of town family and friends and clients and I can’t recommend enough! Definitely go to their 4th of July fireworks party too for the best view

Review of The Heights Restaurant – Toledo We had a wonderful dining experience at The Heights, made even better by the company of great friends. The food exceeded our expectations. We started with the baked gouda appetizer, which was rich and flavorful. The cheese and pepperoni pizzas were a hit with everyone at the table. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad — the chicken was perfectly cooked, and the portion was generous. One of my friends had the steak frites and absolutely loved it. The highlight, beyond the food, was the stunning view. With its panoramic overlook of the water, The Heights offers an ideal setting for a date night or an evening out with drinks. A memorable experience all around.

great drinks, especially cocktails; service is quick and precious; environment is cozy with balcony view to the city and river

The best view in Toledo, your looking for a special night look no further than the hights. the stunning night time view is breath taking take a sip of amazing drinks or grab dinner out on the patio surrounded by the great view of Maumee river and downtown Toledo, 12 floor of the Renaissance hotel.

Came to the Heights for a birthday bash in adjoining areas of this restaurant. Awesome facility with great views of downtown Toledo and the river. Some of the food we had included pork sliders and also Waygu sliders. These were tasty and let's face it, you will eat more than one. The charcuterie platter was very solid and I part liked the prime rib which was medium rare which is how I really like it. The desserts 🍪 included tiramisu cake, chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate chip cookies. The cookies in particular were soft and had great texture, just like mom's! If you want a great venue with superb outdoor views, this is your spot!

We had a great time at the Heights on February 21, 2025. The food and drinks were very well prepared and delivered quickly to our rooftop igloo overlooking the Maumee River. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs the whole night especially Courtney. She did a great job of taking our orders and bring them out to us as ordered with no delay in service. The igloo experience is a bit pricey, but very well worth it if you are looking for something different or celebrating a special occasion.

We recently celebrated our son's bday here. The food was great and service was even better. I could have gone for more variety on the menu, but I was ultimately happy with the items we chose. We ordered a spread of pizzas, sliders, and fries. The view was very much a highlight as well. I definitely recommend this place.

Love the view of the downtown skyline and the atmosphere is perfect. Did not have dinner when I was there, but I ordered a drink and relaxed inside their lounge overlooking the skyline enjoying the view. The prices are very affordable compared to similar restaurants back in LA. Wonderful rooftop bar that I plan to revisit soon.

Delightful casual eatery atop the Renaissance Hotel downtown Toledo. Wood burning pizza ovens to flame the flatbreads to perfection.

Took a friend there for his birthday (free cheesecake). Ordered hummus plate & nachos for our appetizers. Hummus & pita bread was amazing! Margarehita pizza had the perfect amount of cheese. HIGHLY recommend ordering the Creme Brule Cheesecake!!

We had an amazing dinner at The Heights the night after our wedding. The cocktails were amazing, view was spectacular. We had the pizza, Nashville hot chicken sliders and brussels sprouts. Might have been the best brussels sprouts I’ve ever had! The service was amazing as well and we had the best time. We can’t wait to visit again!

Great atmosphere and view of Toledo - especially at night. Oven baked pizzas were good , as well as burger and appetiser. They have a variety of local beers .

Avery our waiter was amazing. Both managers came up and made sure we enjoyed our visit. It was our first time at the Heights and we will definitely be back. Not a place to take kids.

The Heights is a must-visit. With a breathtaking rooftop view of the river, excellent service, and amazing wood-fired pizza, it's a winner. The pizza oven in the center of the restaurant is a great feature, while the well-crafted drinks complete the experience. Don't miss out on this atmosphere and top-notch quality.

My family and I dined at The Heights late on a Saturday night this summer. We were seated quickly and greeted twice. We sat on the outdoor patio overlooking the river and the view was spectacular. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and the Margherita Pizza. Both far exceeded my NYC expectations. The Chicken was inside a waffle wrap that had been deep fried and soaked in maple syrup and pepper flakes. The pizza was a perfect wood fired pizza with a generous portion of fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and EVOO. Would definitely recommend The Heights. Lastly, love the name because I live on Washington Heights in NYC.

Great atmosphere. When I was there, the famous comedic actress Hanna Modene, from the hilarious Barbara Corcoran TV ad was there. This is how you know it's good. The downside is that they close on a whim for months unexpectedly, which is the first sign of a coming drain circle descent.

Just stopped by for desert.Kendra was our hostess and brought us our food. She was very sweet and fun. We had both deserts and they were fabulous. The bow is amazing!

A very nice restaurant with friendly service and a very interesting interior. It has huge windows and is located on a high floor, so you can admire the beautiful panorama of the neighborhood. There are several rooms and a huge terrace with tables. It's clean and spacious, and the service is very friendly. I ordered the Caesar salad, which was very tasty, and the fries were amazing! I went with a group of friends and everyone praised the food! The prices are reasonable. I really recommend it. The only downside is that it's crowded, so I recommend making a reservation.

Best punking cheese cake, atmosphere was thriving. I only wished the igloos was set up and the fire pits should have already been working. This place has amazing views.

The drinks were great and the view was even better. We ordered the pretzel and it was amazing. I would advise you stay away from the wood fired pizza, ours was totally burnt on the bottom and tasted like char. Also the cook making the pizzas did not have the best hygiene despite the fact that we were sat right by him. Our waitress was fantastic and recommend a few fabulous drinks to us. The chocolate lava cake was the main reason for 4/5 stars. It was wonderfully cooked and the ice cream on top was perfect.

The Heights has become a staple place for a beautiful night out in Toledo. I mean, it quite literally is up in the sky overlooking our city, and it's truly a treat. Their menu and drinks are wonderful. Nothing spectacular, but definitely worth the hassle of downtown parking. We started with the dip trio (creole pimento cheese, spinach artichoke dip, white bean garlic hummus) and a giant pretzel. Both were delicious, though I preferred the dip trio. I ordered the T Gown Apple salad with salmon, and it was light and sweet. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and a generous portion. I would absolutely order this again. For my cocktail, I am a huge Lemon Drip fan, so I selected the Lemon Drop the Mic. I was actually not a fan, lemon, vanilla and blueberry wasn't mixing well for me, and it was missing the tartness I adore, so I'll pass on this next go round.

We had the Nashville sandwich and the margarita pizza. Both were absolutely delicious! The views and atmosphere of the restaurant are great! The rose was not as good. It was also advertised to be $5 on Fridays but we were charged $7. Staff was courteous. Recommend! 👍

Lovely atmosphere for date night drinks and conversation. I brought my husband here for his birthday and we loved it. We even got a room at the Renaissance so all we had to do was take an elevator down to get to our room. We can't wait to try the pizza next time. It smelled so good!

This restaurant is conveniently located at the top of the Renaissance hotel where I am staying. Great stop on the rooftop of the hotel overlooking the river and the downtown area. Restaurant has a great portion area, large dinning room and huge two sides bar. I sat at the bar twice and the bartenders are very nice and helpful. The beer selection room here is pretty good and they also make great drinks. Alexa made my bullet old fashioned. Delicious, just the way I like it. She gets full 5 stars. Food is where the restaurant looses one star, especially the mush pizza. I had high hopes seeing the pizza, wood burning oven sitting by the main entrance. Pizza came out with great looking under carriage burn but the cheese was though and lukewarm. Killed the entire pizza. The second night, I tried Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Great tasting sandwich showed up with a generous portion of fries. I do need to mentioned that the menu is priced just right. Thank you for not betting on the location and ignoring the culinary aspect of your space. If only you can work out the cheese issue on the pizza this would be all around 5 star rating.

This is a very nice place. Food, drinks, and service was good and the view is amazing! However, the cushions on the couches were a little dirty. Parking not so great.

The view here is really beautiful ,probably the best part of the experience, and honestly, it kind of makes up for the service. Our server was super friendly and clearly doing their best, but they were definitely stretched too thin. It looked like they were handling way too many tables, so we ended up waiting quite a while for even small things. Not ideal, but they stayed kind and accommodating the whole time, which I appreciated.

It has a lovely view from the 12th floor overlooking the river. The staff were friendly and answered the questions promptly. We were with our pup and we were accommodated accordingly. We had a great time, our pup really enjoyed the view and friendly hi's. The service can be improved as we had to wait over 30 minutes for our pizza. Overall well done!

Stunning Atmosphere, But Service Left Us Disappointed We visited this rooftop bar while dressed up for an evening event, eager to enjoy the lively ambiance and beautiful space. The atmosphere certainly didn’t disappoint—it's vibrant and inviting, with a view and energy that would make for an even better experience in warmer weather. However, our visit was overshadowed by the behavior of one of the bartenders. While filling a draft beer, he accidentally sprayed both my husband and me with beer. We weren’t upset—accidents happen—but what surprised us was his lack of acknowledgment. He didn’t apologize or even seem to care. When I asked for something to wipe the beer off, he tossed a bar rag at us and ignored us for the rest of the evening. Thankfully, another bartender stepped in, apologized on his behalf, and expressed genuine regret for his behavior. Her kindness was appreciated and salvaged some of our experience, but it put a damper on our evening. Despite this incident, the setting and energy of the bar were exceptional, and we’d love to return on a warmer evening to fully enjoy the outdoor space. Hopefully, next time, the service will match the quality of the atmosphere.

Food was hot and good however way over priced. I get it though, the view and the atmosphere are both great. Food came out on time and our waitress was on point. I did not enjoy the angus short rib burger and was disappointed. It tasted dry, the burger was over cooked and the cheese was not melted. The bacon wasnt spread a crossed the burger and the bun wasn't toasted. I am not a foodie, so perhaps that's how these burgers are supposed to be prepared or taste, but I did not enjoy it. The fact this burger was $17 blows my mind. The pretzel was really good and the fries were great. The atmosphere was the best part. I wish the food met the expectations for the price we paid.

The drinks were good and the view was Amazing. I ordered chicken and pizza 8/10

Long story short. The food was decent. Drinks from the main bar were great. Drinks when ordered from our table, horrible. Same old, inconvenienced attitude from certain staff. The views were through dirty windows, the bathrooms were lacking the expected cleanliness, and we showed up at 4pm.

Overall, I'm pretty disappointed. The atmosphere and drinks are definitely the reason to go. The food was just ok. And $17 for a thin crust pizza was pretty expensive.

Came here twice nights in a row- first night for drinks at the bar- atmosphere was nice- service was slow but generally positive. Second night- decided to try some food- ordered a few things and the best item was the side of fries. The service was exceptionally slow (we almost left as it took over 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us once we were seated- and it wasn’t super busy), pizza was burnt and flavorless, and the chicken wings were rubbery and the flavor was meh.

I’ve tried this place several times, and each time have sadly walked away feeling thoroughly disappointed. I really want to love it, the space is beautiful, lovely views, laid out and decorated nicely, but the experience is always less than mediocre. We booked a table for ten for happy hour. Many in our group were looking forward to the $5 draft beers on happy hour……their CO2 was out, so drafts weren’t available, and they refused to honor the $5 for bottles and cans, they would’ve made a lot more revenue from our table had they honored this. How does a restaurant/bar who advertises $5 drafts not have CO2 and we were told by our server it had been out for days?? It makes no sense. This should have been easily remedied. Next, we go to order the half priced appetizers and two of the main apps most in our group wanted to order weren’t available. It left two of us in our group having nothing but French fries for dinner. I don’t know if it’s poor management, but that’s what it appears from the outside looking in. Again, I’ve once again walked away from this place with a bad taste in my mouth, both figuratively and literally. Sad that a space that great is ran so poorly, it has the potential for greatness if it fell into the proper hands and management.

We saw many pictures of nice round pizza’s and our were these small oval ones with barely enough for one person. Did not see anything on the menu about different sizes. The portions were small and over priced. It definitely wasn’t as good as I would have expected. Would not order from here again.

Warning! Sunday's are limited menu with only wood fired oven pizza and some things. I made the reservations via Open table and it had nothing on this. Also, the restaurants website doesn't provide any info on this limited Sunday menu either so it leads you to think it's full menu. We checked out the website and menu a week prior to the trip and the day of the dinner and made a phone call about parking with no mention of limited service. Long wait getting be seated and long waits on the waiter the whole time. We asked about the wine list and the waiter said he lost the wine list. It all looks good on the website, sounds fun, and in pics but I was so underwhelmed, under-impressed and just disappointed in general. The only thing that saved the limited menu and slow service was the birthday dessert that they brought out. The pizza was good but-unfortunately I don't think I would personally try this out again. The fact that the server was nice and they brought a birthday dessert saved them from a lower review from me.

This place had potential, but unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing. Upon entering, the staff seemed disinterested and unprofessional. We had to inquire about seating, and they appeared inconvenienced by our presence. The food took over 30 minutes to arrive, and we had to request water from our server. He never bothered to check on us throughout the meal. After waiting an additional 30 minutes, we had to flag down a server for the bill and to-go boxes. Despite the presence of multiple staff members behind the bar, they were primarily engaged in their own conversations and showed little concern for customer satisfaction. Overall, a very strange and unsatisfactory dining experience.

My boyfriend and I were so excited to come here for our first time in Toledo! We made a reservation a couple weeks in advance to make sure we got a table. When we showed up it was a little confusing how to get there since the elevator was not working and the hotel staff was busy checking people in to notice we were waiting. We finally got the attention of the hotel staff and they let us up to the 12th floor where The Heights was located. The view was phenomenal and it was so cool to see! Our waitress seemed less than thrilled to be serving us and it brought our mood down. Idk if I was how we looked or what but it almost seemed like she looked down at us. On their website it said you could mix and max the sliders so we asked about that and she said they no longer do that in a snide manner. She made us feel bad about eating at the restaurant and not knowing that the menu was different online. Overall, the experience was okay I guess. The food was amazing but that waitress really brought our mood down.

Very $$, Very limited menu with nothing extraordinary on it, Very $$ drinks. Service is fine. Food is ok.. Friends of mine agreed about the short menu and $$ food. Cannot recommend.

Don’t come for brunch. The view is cool but come for a drink instead. Worst avo toast I’ve ever had and everyone in our groups food was cold by the time it finally came out. There were only 3 tables sitting down so there’s no valid reason for that issue. The server also didn’t ask how everything was until we were already done eating so if anyone needed anything like sauce etc too bad.

M
Missy

Yikes. Time has taken a toll on what used to be a good experience with good food and drinks. Their tiki experience on Tuesday should be advertised as a run down hut on the side of a no name road. The only tiki experience was it being 90 degrees in the restaurant. The Chicago egg rolls had dry beef, mayo passing as garlic aioli, and one baby pepper hiding as the gardenia spicy peppy concoction supposedly in it. Their pizzas went from being some of the best pizzas in town to id rather throw a totinos in a microwave and call it a day because it would be thicker and more crispy than whatever I just ate was. So sad, this could’ve been such a great spot.

Was there for my granddaughter’s 21st birthday party Saturday October 1st. Valet parking cancelled at the last minute. Had to find parking over downtown Toledo many were single women in our party. Very dangerous trying to get in the rude hotel. The hostess was rude after we got off the elevator at The Heights and abrupt while we waited. The wait to get our table was a hour and a half and it was not crowded. The workers are young and impatient my first and LAST time ever going there. The only highlight was our waitress COURTNEY who took care of our party of 15 with a huge smile, excellent service and great interaction and we tipped her well. I WOULD NOT recommend The Heights to anyone else. The food was so-so. Some items good like the salad and fries. I was so looking forward to my first time there and was highly disappointed in the experience as was our party.

Absolutely the most disgusting pizza I have ever had! Enough grease to keep Fonzi happy for a year. Nice atmosphere and good service. But, I could have gone to Speedway gas station and had a much better pizza. Stay away!!! There are so many great restaurants in Toledo, but unfortunately they all close at 9:00 PM. Will I return? Nope!

We called at 1130am. They had an event and spoke with GM. We can get a reservation for 6pm. No problem. Parking was horrible. I brought a group from a nursing facility. So we get there, didn't have a reservation for us, we might have well just not called, made us wait until 630. Put us at a tall table, we had wheelchairs. Couldn't even see over the top of table. People couldnt eat correctly. Not disability friendly at all. Service was terrible. Oh, they tac 20 percent gratuity regardless of service you received. Food wasn't great. I was so mad I didn't even eat. No one from management even addressed my anger. No one even tried to fix problems. I will NEVER go back. Here i thought I would wow a group of disabled folks with a nice view and decent food and instead it was a nightmare. And to boot got a 50 dollar parking ticket. Horrible horrible horrible just go to McDonald's

Initially okay, empty but fine, steak came out overcooked to the point where it was inedible and if that wasn’t enough, we had a DJ set up strobe lights directly in front of us, mind you the place was empty, it was an intimate date night for us, which they knew from the reservation details, they proceeded to blare music and leave. Would go negative stars if possible which is a shame because years ago the heights was incredible. Needs a revamp as the venue is too good to be this bad on a Friday night.

C
Claire C

Online it said they were open. Nobody was answering the phone when we tried to get reservations. I’ve gone here before and know they keep tables open for walk ins. After we get there parking far away and walking in the cold so we wouldn’t pay $32 for parking. We got in the elevator and it wouldn’t work. Went to the front desk and they told us they were closed Sundays it’s a new business practice. No eye contact just watching the computer. Extremely dissapointed that it was nowhere.

K
Keith Jones

Horrible service. Will look at you multiple times and not even offer a drink. Would never refer to friends family or enemy. They would rather act busy then actually serve customers. I wanted alone at the middle of the bar for over a hour and not a drink hello nothing. This is the worst service i have e ever had. Food was horrible and I watched it sit for 15 minutes before I ever got it. I travel alot for work and this out of all the places across the United States is the worst. Negative stars should be available.

I was a barmaid in and around Detroit for over a decade, and I know that places put cheap liquor in expensive bottles. I've been drinking Quervo straight for decades, that was not Quervo. I ENJOY Quervo and this swill was intolerable, even in a strawberry margarita. The waitress didn't want to serve us, which cost her a very large tip. She was so annoyed with our presence that my daughter assumed they were closing soon. I said, "No, they're a bar". My daughter didn't believe that this girl wasn't trying to get us to leave because we've come in at close, so she looked it up. It was still hours until close, the waitress is just a bad person. wiSh I cOuLD GiVe zERo sTArS.
