Love this place. Such a beautiful and peaceful spot in the canyon. Food is a bit pricey but it’s good and the atmosphere makes up for all of it. I always stop here when I’m in the area
This was my favorite dining experience near the LA area. The restaurant itself is built into the canyon so it looks like this immaculate treehouse, with views of the gorgeous mountains. It was a tad cold when we went, but there was heating lamps around the tables to keep us warm. All the cutlery and dishes are gorgeous and extraordinary. All of those positive things said, the food was PERFECT. My wife had the Momma's Combo, it was fantastic. For me, I had the best Egg's Benedict ever. Topped with luscious lobster and a hollandaise sauce that I could drink with a straw, it was so good. Every bite was a taste of heaven and this breakfast cannot be beat. I will think about this meal for a long time. Oh, and Mimi the cat is pretty sweet as a mascot too! *Highly recommend making reservations or you will be waiting quite awhile.
I visited Café on 27th with my family for brunch, and we had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was great, very cozy and welcoming, and perfect for spending quality time with family. Our server, Dorsa , was incredibly kind and attentive. She helped us choose dishes that matched what we were in the mood for and made the whole experience even better. I really loved the vibe and overall feeling of the place. Definitely a great spot for a relaxed family brunch.
Cafe on 27 is my new favorite brunch restaurant, earned by its phenomenal atmosphere, quality, dietary restriction accommodations and overall service! ATMOSPHERE: It is like you’re eating on the patio of an adult tree house; you are literally seated outside in the trees with phenomenal views. The patio is in multiple tiers, and you have to go in person to truly appreciate the magic. There is some free parking available on the side of the road along Topanga Canyon, but if you go when it’s busy like us, the valet is only $10 and very worth it. RESERVATIONS: I suggest making a reservation on the Toast platform through their website at least one week in advance of your plans if you want to go for a weekend brunch, as it is extremely popular. We went for Sunday brunch, arrived at 10am, and were seated at 10:40am without a reservation, which was right within the amount of time the host quoted us. DRINKS: I personally enjoyed three drinks: one for hydration (water in nice cups), one for caffeine (chai), and one for fun (fresh squeezed orange juice). We asked about their most popular breakfast drinks and they said they sell a few hundred cups of chai every day, and I can see why! I went with a hot chai latte with oat milk and two of my friends did their iced chais with oat milk and we all enjoyed it, as their chai was smooth and delicious with oat milk. Listed on the menu, their chai ($8) is made with Black Chai, Cinnamon, Clove, Cardamom, Black Pepper, Honey, Raw Vanilla, and Cane Sugar. Even though it has sugar, it wasn’t overly sweet and I cannot recommend it strongly enough. You can also get a dirty chai by adding a shot of espresso. They started roasting their own coffee beans there with a Bellwether machine inside near their coffee bar (you can go see it, it is around the size of a vending machine!) in October 2025. As a big coffee person, I asked Majeed (barista) & Yousef (part owner of Torrafina and barista) about how they decided to start roasting their own coffee, and they let me know that it was so they can have more control over the coffee, and they sell the retail bags in the shop, also listed in the menu for when you are sitting down at the restaurant. It is organic, fair trade, and under the brand Torrafina. Their espresso is roasted medium dark, and it’s a blend of Honduras, Peru, & Ethiopia. Their drip coffee is roasted medium and it is a blend of Honduras & Guatemala. For the orange juice, listed on the menu as “Just Squeezed Orange Juice” for $9, I appreciate that it was literally fresh squeezed (you can also see them making it fresh) with high-quality oranges and it’s a must-have. They were previously cutting each orange by hand, but as they serve so many fresh squeezed orange juices, they got a machine to help speed up the process for guests to enjoy their juice even faster. SERVICE: Everyone was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Our server Hedieh was spectacular, she checked in with us the perfect amount and always made sure we had enough water. She was also able to help me with accommodating for my dietary restrictions and combining two different menu items so I could enjoy them. FOOD: I couldn’t imagine a more delicious breakfast dish than what I had. They label items on their menu with a GF for gluten free, such as the Cauliflower Pizza and the Tahdig Benedict on Crispy Rice. However, the Lobster Benedict ($36) was calling my name, with 2 Poached Eggs, sauté Main lobster on English Muffin, topped with saffron Hollandaise Sauce with patatas bravas. I let our server know I am gluten free, and I was able to substitute and use the crispy rice base from the Tahdig for the English Muffin so that it was gluten free! The lobster over their house special recipe of crispy rice base was the perfect texture and flavor combination, and it also was only complimented by the 2 perfectly poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce. This is a must-order if you enjoy perfectly cooked lobster.
Cafe 27 is an absolute gem in LA. The environment is beautiful and relaxing, with an amazing view that makes the experience even more special. The service is excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. The food is delicious and clearly made with care, perfectly complementing the overall vibe of the place. Whether you’re going for a meal, a coffee, or just to enjoy the view, Cafe 27 is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend.
If you’re looking for a relaxing spot surrounded by beautiful nature, this place is truly a gem. It has a calm atmosphere that instantly slows life down, making it the perfect escape for anyone who wants to unwind and enjoy a meal in a lovely setting. The people here are warm and friendly, which makes every visit feel welcoming. The food is good and perfect for starting the day right. I love coming here for breakfast or brunch — it’s one of my favorite places to relax and recharge. Highly recommend! 🌿✨
Absolutely OBSESSED with this cafe, came here on a "rainy" day and it was still so magical, the food was delicious, the vibe felt otherworldly and the cat in the entrance was the sweetest thing! OH and their little gift shop was so unique, ended up walking away with a few gifts for the family! Cant wait to come back here for a brunch date!
I came here for brunch with friends and waited about an hour, but it was worth it. The view was beautiful, and the food was good too. We ordered pancakes and steak with eggs, and both dishes were satisfying. They do valet parking, so keep that in mind when you visit. It’s a nice place to relax and enjoy brunch with a great view :)
It was our first time here, and the experience was absolutely positive! Parking is a bit tight (I drive a full size truck), but they have a gentleman named Walid who organizes everything extremely well and efficiently. After parking, we walked to the front and were quoted a 30-minute wait for a party of four (2 adults, 2 children), but we were seated within 10 minutes! No matter where you sit, you get a beautiful and intimate view of the mountains, it’s a really nice atmosphere all around. They even had a high chair ready for our 2-year-old. We ordered the Citrus Mint Lemonade and the Raspberry Lavender Lemonade — both highly recommended! Our pasta and lobster roll came out in about 15 minutes or less and was absolutely delicious! Everything was clean, organized, and professionally run. We’ll definitely be back to try more items on the menu! 😊
Very nice place to have a meal with your significant other. The waitress was super sweet and the atmosphere was fantastic. There is a lot of one way traffic through this road because they are still fixing things from the fires earlier this year but the destination is worth it. Recommend making reservations so you can save seating overlooking the trees.
A gem in the canyon! I had breakfast here two years ago and couldn’t stop thinking about their avocado toast - it’s seriously unforgettable. Coming back after the reopening felt like such a treat, and I’m happy to say the toast is just as incredible (maybe even better!). It hits that perfect balance of sweet, sour, and umami flavors. The staff are true hosts: welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. They make you feel like more than just a customer. And a big bonus for me: this place is dog friendly! My pup and I both felt right at home. Highly recommend for anyone who loves great food, good vibes, and a peaceful Topanga atmosphere.
first of all when i found this place on instagram…. if your looking for a place where you can breath with the over looking nature …. trees and mountains … eating in the tree house by the woods green scenery’s this is the best…,, with the spectacular view i didnt expect much about the food…. but wait their food was prestigious Michelin Star like …. and staffs were beyond friendly ❤️
The staff were friendly, helpful & efficient. Not a huge menu but enough for just about all folks to choose of the many delicious options. As far as the ambiance...breathtaking!

From my understanding it was mandatory valet parking. I went on valentines day so naturally there was a long wait time. Was waiting for about an hour. There is a gift shop where you can linger as you wait. There seemed to be very limited seating due to the atmosphere. Very beautiful scenery. Service was decent. Will give them credit to say it was probably due to the holiday that they were not as attentive. Meal was very delicious but in my opinion very overpriced. The matcha was to my liking and the drinks were at very good price. The desserts were delicious but in my opinion overpriced. Would go again solely for the drinks and ambiance but would not recommend to go for a meal due to the prices. Overall had a great experience. They do have high chairs but do not have a kids menu. My son is a very picky eater. A side of bacon and some fries was the best accommodations I was able to provide for him. If you have picky kiddos beware!
The food is mid. Especially for the price. But the atmosphere and vibes are great. And that’s why you come here. Free street parking. Without a reservation, expect to wait ~1 hour. They have about 3 vegetarian options for meals. Only 1 vegan option.
It's a chill place that is surrounded by nature. There's a trail on the other side of the street and you can go and explore after your meal. I understand that everything has gone up in price but $27 for one of the most ordinary French toasts I've had is not exactly exciting. If you're paying almost thirty dollars for a meal definitely get something that will fill you up. I ordered a chai and my mom ordered coffee, which was cold and I had to ask for another one. Their lobster sandwich was good but again nothing that would make you say: "I will come back again for this". It was just the small sandwich and the chips they weren't even house made or anything like that. So yeah cool and chill place but not worth the price at all.
While the food is a bit expensive, it is certainly worth the cost. The cuisine was delicious, and the ambiance was wonderfully relaxing. The staff provided excellent service; the only minor inconvenience was the parking, unless one utilizes their valet service. Nevertheless, I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment.

Arrived early, as I usually do, to beat the rush. Parking was along the road, but they also offer valet service to fit more cars. Even though we arrived earlier than our reservation time, they still seated us right away, which I appreciated. The environment is nice, cute details throughout with a treehouse vibe and plenty of fresh air. The atmosphere was definitely one of the highlights. Unfortunately, the food didn’t stand out to me. Not many items on the menu caught my eye, and I ended up ordering the lobster roll. It was just okay. Nothing memorable, just food to get full. The staff who brought out the food and cleared tables provided great service. However, the person who checked us out took much longer than expected. I eventually had to flag him down, and we were stuck behind a server tending to a large party that completely blocked the exit. With the area so crowded, there was no way around it, and by that point, I was over it. I wanted to check out the shop before leaving, but I was already annoyed. When we left, valet parking was completely backed up as well. I can say I’ve been here, but I won’t be coming back.
The location was beautiful and the views were spectacular. The food was good but wayyyy overpriced for eggs and burnt rice (tadig). $27-32 for each plate & $6 for a small order of fries… you’re also heavily pushed to do the valet parking there which is additional $10. The staff is inattentive & treat you less than if you didn’t make a reservation too. Overall, a one time kind of experience just to say you’ve been there. -Diana Also if you’re going to valet people’s vehicles, at least lock their doors when you leave their cars unattended ESPECIALLY considering customers may have valuables like their laptops inside. On top of that DO NOT park your customers car downhill and forget to use the parking brake.. complete and utter negligence to customers property and the safety of other drivers on the highway, shame on you. - Alex
Food was absolutely amazing 👏 I got the pastrami with egg, and added sausage beef patty. The sauce was tasty, the pastrami not overcooked. And the egg was perfectly over easy. The food did not take long to arrive. The avocado toast with added salmon was also delicious and filling. The wait to be seated was about 15 mins, having arrived at 230ish on a Sunday. Not too bad. However, after we were seated, it took about 30 mins before they took our order. I understand they were busy but we didnt have water at our table, nor any drinks yet. The staff was super nice and helpful once our order was taken. Also, they accidentally put jalapeños on my pastrami burger despite requesting no jalapeños and they forgot to bring the extra beef patty I requested but were more than willing to bring it once I mentioned it. Overall, happy with the staff, and the food.

While the views were certainly unique, our party was disappointed in the food, especially considering the steep price. Upon arriving there was a pretty bad smell coming from the sewer line directly under the parking lot, which wafted into the waiting area. My friend and I ducked into the small shop outside the restaurant for some relief, and were disappointed to find the stickers and 'paintings' being sold there were AI generated. I'm talking human figures missing thumbs level of AI generated. The servers were kind, however, and got us seated as soon as our party had fully arrived and checked in. While our seats did give us a peek at the nice view, it was quickly blocked by just the sheer amount of brunch traffic! I will say the staff acted quickly to move umbrellas around to block the sun when it started to really heat up our tables, which was nice. All the staff were kind and attentive, but man... Yeah the food was just very bland. My BLT was just so so, on the dry side with a side salad that has a smattering of dressing on it. Not even the blue bread sourdough tasted sour. One of my friends said her fries felt a bit undercooked. And our drinks were also underwhelming. Overall, I think I was just startled at the low quality of food despite the really high prices. And AI art promoting your business will always give me the ick.
The location is beautiful, and we waited about 20 minutes to be seated for a party of five. The interior decor is lovely, while the outdoor deck and bar have a more casual setup — plenty of tables like a standard restaurant. However, the bar stools facing the hill are quite uncomfortable, especially for an average-sized person. Our server was extremely polite and kind, which made it easy to appreciate her service. However, the restaurant reinforces a mandatory 20% tip for parties of five, which feels a bit unusual since most places apply it to groups of six or more. We also paid an extra $10 for parking. The food was fine but nothing remarkable or gourmet. Unfortunately, our plates arrived cold — two cold eggs, pancakes, and two small strips of bacon for $27 doesn’t leave the best impression. The water served wasn’t chilled either. Overall, the value doesn’t quite match the price. One suggestion for management: please consider a designated area for guests who bring dogs. Not everyone feels comfortable dining next to animals due to allergies, fears, or phobias. This small change could make the experience more inclusive for everyone. While I appreciate the beautiful views and the outdoor ambiance, I personally find this restaurant overpriced for a casual family weekend meal.
We will never return to this place. Ever. We had a reservation. First they told us we did not and then they found it and boy were they rude. Want to park, you will be paying for valet or hiking. …
