Was Kunden über The Loft sagen
The Loft is a Hawaiian restaurant known for generous portions and friendly service. The Korean BBQ beef and Island Fried Chicken are highly praised. Some customers note a decline in quality since COVID and dislike the takeout-style dining.

First visit to this location. Super empty at 1145 which was odd to me. They had 4 to go orders in the works so people were ordering. Place looked clean, food was good & fresh. I'll def put this location in my rotation. Got the teriyaki plate with cabbage salad, macaroni & rice - super yummy dressing for the cabbage salad. It's similar to the Chinese chicken salad dressing (which they also have) from Rascals. Maybe I'll try that next visit.
Went to the Redondo Beach location for a family function. Had a separate room for around 25 guests. The Loft was very accommodating for our group. The food was excellent, fairly priced, and the service exceptional. Everyone enjoyed the occasion thanks to the great staff.
An old friend took me here and WOW, they have really delicious Hawaiian dishes and great food selection too. The food reminds me of the old Back Home in Lahaina in Manhattan Beach from way back when. I had kahlua pork and fried chicken, both tasted great (and huge portion). My friend also ordered the bacon fried rice, which I tried and it's delicious with real large chucks of bacon too. I highly recommend this place for those looking for comfort Hawaiian food.
The Loft is simply amazing! Josh and Laura always suggest new menu items and their recommendations have been perfect. Thank you Josh and Laura for making me and my daughter feel special every time we come to your restaurant.
One of the best places for Hawaiian food in Los Angeles. I've been going there since they had a restaurant in Gardena on Normandie in a motel. You have to experience the menu for yourself. Everything is good. But the Katsu chicken is 💣
The food is good stuff that is well seasoned and has good portions. They always find really friendly staff that knows how to take care of families and they work really hard to get larger parties in even though it isn't that big a place. The food also comes out quickly.
Great Hawaiian food in a family-centric atmosphere, with tasty gluten free options. The location has shifted over the years, but the recipes remain true. Totally outshines the other Hawaiian food places in town.
I've never, ever had a bad experience at The Loft. My personal favorite dish is the Healthy Hawaiian, sub bacon fried rice. So tasty, and cheap too. To all the haters: OHMIGAHSTAHP
Always great tasting food! New location is a bit small.
Hawaiian restaurants are typically not elegant dining experiences but when it comes to Hawaiian food this place is right up there with the best of them. Every type of food they do is either good or great. Love their Loco Moco, Lumpia and Katsu.
Awesome food. Great service. Love this place. Bbq beef and the fried chicken are my favorite. Hot mustard sauce is bomb if you like spicy.
Good basic Hawaiian food. The poke' is very tasty and fresh, their fried dishes are tasty and crisp, are not "oily". I would recommend this clean, well lit restaurant to anyone desiring Hawaiian food. Oh, and they didn't overcook my "over easy" eggs as many places do.
Food was delicious, service was fantastic; true aloha style, friendly, caring, family style restaurant. A must go if you're in the mood for some Hawaiian style yummy food.
Good food and dessert. Portions are large but they offer smaller sizes for selected plates. Check with server regarding desserts as they do run out on busy days.
The Island Fried Chicken, Bacon Fried Rice and Chinese Chicken Salad are my favorites. Staff is always friendly and wait times aren't too bad.

I was actually surprised. They have good good here, but the quality has gone down because of/since covid, but the other night, the food was delicious!! As it used to be back when the 1st opened!! We can't wait to go back. Bummer that they don't accept cash, and their dining room is not attractive at all!
The food is packaged take out style however you are able to dine indoors. Food came out hot and fast and actually pretty easy clean up since I just closed my takeout container with leftovers cleaned up and left. Customer service is very good and the cashier brought our food to our table for us still.
I went here for the first time today. I have driven by it on the way to work for years but never went in. A friend and I had lunch there and I most definitely will be back. I had Korean BBQ beef, with cabbage and rice and it was perfect. The portions are very generous so be very hungry if you go.
Been here twice and was shocked at how delicious the Korean Bff and macaroni was! I recently had a catering order for the Korean Beef, pork, and macaroni and all my guests loved it!
The best Korean BBQ. Another Hawaiian place, Back home in Lahaina no longer serves Korean BBQ.

Great service, great food! If your looking for Hawaiian style cuisine and a laid back atmosphere then look no further. Menu is reasonably priced and food is delicious. Their Kalua Pork is the best around. (unless your in Hawaii😜)
Yum, relive the Hawaiian food experience with spam mishubi, fried chicken, macaroni salad, cabbage salad. Small place yet there is outdoors seating. Cashier personnel very friendly and helpful.
We used to go to The Loft in Torrance and loved everything about it. It was so sad when they had to close. The food at the Gardena location is just like I remember. I love the Kalua Pork! The staff are fantastic. It is counter service only.
First visit in long time. The menu is Hawaiian food and based on my observation of the lunch clientele, they must be doing something right because the bulk of the customers seemed to be Hawaiian ancestry. The food was good.
This has always been a go to place. The first time in a year that we went back. Very weird experience since "covid " ... you order, they package and you can eat there or take it. We had a party of 8 and thought we would get service as normal but we didn't. It was us on our own going back and forth to finally get everything they forgot to give us like forks, napkins, sauce, another forgotten order of food, a drink.... the employees were all in the back for the most part ... unless they had a customer. Times have changed but service shouldn't. We spent about 160.00 that day.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the restaurant is taking a serious precautions. They have tables set up by the door, so you can't even go inside the restaurant. Its best to call in your order for take out. The staff wear mask and they will bring your to go order outside. Food : The menu is extensive with plenty of your island favorites. I personally like the Island Style Fried Chicken, Loco Mico, and the Chicken BBQ. Portion size is very generous.
I love the atmosphere this restaurant very laid-back. The staff is always on top of things. It's crowded sometimes at dinner time but wait times at minimal anything you order on the menu is delicious.
They have gone to a limited service. Order at the counter and get your food in Styrofoam containers. Some of the same old timey Hawaiian favorites so you can trust as good as ever.
I love this little gem in our neighborhoods! The food is soooo fresh and prepared well. Authentic Hawaiian style cuisine. I recommend eating at the LOFT anytime. It's always good.
For the price you pay, they give plenty of food and the quality is very good. I tried the beef stew curry with chicken katsu. The only negative was that the macaroni salad tasted a little bland compared to other places in the area. Also one interesting thing is that they have crumbled packet ramen in the cabbage salad, which seemed a little odd at first, but I liked it since it made the salad more crunchy. If you order a bigger place (around 13 dollars) you are basically getting two meals which is a great deal.

More of a 3.5 stars overall. Their island style fried chicken is a 5 star item for taste vs cost and it's fairly unique, but they've cut things back: several old menu items are gone, including the char sui chicken fried rice. The veggies have been tuned down to unseasoned broccoli. The bacon fried rice is also still good, but there are so many other solid Hawaiian places popping up, The Loft really shouldn't be rolling back on what they offer.
I love coming here, driving all the way down from above Pasadena. But seriously, this restaurant should go back to full service. The pandemic is over. At least they finally started bringing out the food on real plates rather than in styrofoam containers. But it's time to seat customers, have servers who take orders and bring things, check on the customers, refill drinks as needed, etc. Also, they really should bring the Char Siu Chicken back to the menu. What will keep me coming back here is the incredible macaroni salad, Hawaiian style, which is outrageously delicious!
I have always enjoyed the food from here. Even when it was in Torrance on Hawthorne years back. The Island Fried chicken is my favorite, but the Kalbi, Katsu Chicken and Charsiu Chicken are close behind. I also enjoy getting the Chinese Chicken salad for a meal every once in awhile. This place is good to eat at but I see lots of people getting the food to go. The take-out line seems to always be busy. Oh I don't get appetizers a lot from here but of course the Spam Musubi is good and I enjoyed the Kalua Pig Egg Rolls. If you have room the Jello Cheesecake is delicious and reminds me of my grandmother's dessert. Update 11/30/2020 During this shelter in place during COVID-19 I've eaten here about 2 times a month at least. Since they were doing lots of take out before this thing they do it well. Also they are really organized and are running smoothly. Note -Only taking credit/debit card. Please support them, the food is good, good portion size and the staff are nice. Update 11.10.22 Sadly it's been a few months since I've been here to get food. There are a few changes since the last post. You can now enter the restaurant. They no longer have a cashier outside. They seem to have streamlined the menu a bit. It's still pretty much to-go only but they are allowing people to eat in the restaurant. Unfortunately it's not the same as before. They moved the booths around and some are gone. I hope they are only doing this to keep the restaurant going. They are still only taking credit/debit and no cash. Please come and patronize them, they are worth it.

Used to love this place, and dined there many times. Unfortunately,I think the pandemic did a number on this place. Like everyone else, prices are up and portion sizes are getting smaller. If it was only this,I would be fine with it,but food quality is suffering also. Unfortunately,I think I've eaten there for the last time 😥
Everything else that my family ordered was good but I ordered the beef curry bowl p, it was not curry at all, it was beef in a pool of gravy, please specify that it is more like gravy that curry, because I was not expecting gravy, and there was WAY too much. Otherwise great place, and I will come back too try a new thing
Food is delicious but, I was disappointed by the fact they basically do NOT want you to dine-in. You get limited tables and they hand you food in a to-go container and plastic utensils...why have tables at all inside? I felt like I wasn't welcomed to sit and eat at my own leisure. They have also become way overpriced and their food portions are shrinking ...it seems as if they want to make money more than feed the customers the usual quality food for what they PAY for...
Place was nice and clean the service was a little slow but the food was tasty, portions were small. The boy that took our order was kinda rude for some reason from the get go. Maybe go again if he not waiting or just order take out to try the different items on the menu. I love hawaiian style plate lunch places cause I'm from Hawaii wish that boy would have had more Aloha in him.

Just a bit better than edible. It's just not very good. Some dishes too sweet, some just dry and chewy, salad was good (hurray for quality cabbage), and the spam musubi was too heavy on the sauce and the spam was too thin cut. I tried a variety of dishes from this place. These are just my opinions, but I would skip this place and never will I recommend this place to my friends.
I ordered the beef curry rice to go. When I got home, to my surprise. I was looking for the beef, there was only 3 small beef chunks and a bunch of potatoes. Who eats a big serving of rice and a big bowl of curry potatoes? What a waste of money. No wonder there was hardly anyone in your restaurant.
Nice and clean restaurant and the service is very good. However, the food is underwhelming. I am very disappointed with my Kalua pork and fried chicken combo dish. The Kalua pork is finely chopped or more like ground pork and dry not like what I had in Hawaii. The fried chicken is dry and had some after taste smell like from old frying oil. I used to like this place but not sure why the food is not as good as it used to be.
Second time trying this place and I must say… it’s alright! I’ve had better Hawaiian food. The customer service is terrible. Took forever to get my order and it was incorrect. I ordered bacon fried rice, broccoli with chicken katsu and Korean barbecued beef, broccoli and macaroni salad. I didn’t receive bacon fried rice I got white rice. The macaroni salad container was not filled which upset me because paying $40 plus dollars and not receiving a reasonable portion of food is disappointing. Another issue is this place is cashless. Being a cashless restaurant is somewhat discriminatory as some folks might not have the option of debit or credit cards available to them.
Went to the loft today to experiment with Hawaiian food! My husbands food on the left was amazing the meat had such an interesting flavor. My Hawaiian grilled chicken however was the driest and most unflavored chicken I’ve had in my entire life. Fair warning to others!!

Ordered take out (30 minutes before closing time - loco moco 1/5 (got food poisoning from it) and 3 meat combo (korean bbq beef 3/5, island fried chicken 3/5, and kalua pork 2/5). Mac salad and cabbage salad used to be better now the mac salad has too much mayo and the cabbage salad had barely any ramen noodle.
Sad to see what's happened to this once great Hawaiian place. Now it's in a run down spot that shares a space with a bar and you can smell the cigarette smoke. Take the food to go!

This place pretty much went downhills since the pandemic. Dine in are in to go utensils, menu prices on the wall don't match what's ringing up, and very limited items on the menu a lot of stuff were crossed out. On top of it dine in was really sad and depressing. Probably won't be back for a while.
The place is not set up to offer in-house table service as before. All food is placed in take out containers for in-house service and take out service. Went one cold night evening to eat and the inside seating area was cold as the outside . The food also was not up to standards that would invite a second visit. I have to assume they are cutting costs to stay in business but the owner needs to revise the methods currently used.
I'll start with the table that we sat in, it had a sign that said "this table has been sanitized for you". It was dirty & sticky so we moved tables. You have to order your food at the register before you sit NBD. Our dine in food came in a styrofoam to go container. The servings were much smaller than the normal dine in plate. We ordered the Hawaiian style fried chicken which was clearly re-refried. Each bite was super greasy. We had the cabbage salad as a side, which the ramen noodles were stale. Overall this was not the Loft that we've loved since the Normandie location.
Man, this location went down….I frequent the Cypress location and you get service there and they didn’t cut out the bowls or charge more for either small or large portions. You order at the counter now, not at the table and they act like you are bothering them by coming in. Maybe switch it to only take out or drive-through so people don’t have to engage with the staff who’s already light for a dine in place… food is still great just don’t recommend this location. Deff gone down in quality over the years.
I got my tooth fixed, but if you're not worried about foreign matter in your food, how do you have the "A" health rating? I filed my complaint with the health department yesterday, so good luck. I have still not received a reply to my complaint of a broken tooth while eating your food. It's been over 2 months and I expected a response of some kind.

I'm sad to say I will no longer dine here. I've been a customer for over 25 years. I ordered my usual 3 item combo yesterday. This plate is 22.95. I've been ordering this for 25 years. I go to pick up order and the child at the register charges 31 bucks. I ask why. She says the beef is extra 4 bucks. Huh??? I asked why. She didn't know. I explained that the menu doesn't state this and I wasn't informed of any extra charges. She had no response. I tell her I've been eating there for 25 years and this was never told to me. I was shocked at how incompetent the guy and girl were at this situation. Unreal bs. Total lack of common sense with customer service. It's a sad day. I will never return.
