Was exactly what I needed after a long road trip, very good prices and the burger of the same name is to die for.
My family enjoyed this basil while driving through Lafayette. They had great size portions and delicious, flavorful options. We would definitely go here again! A small town gem in the middle of central New York.
Food here is delicious each time I come and no matter what I get. Menu has a broad selection of items and you can't really go wrong no matter what you pick - pizza when you want something delivered (for a great price point!) or eat-in cuisine. Can't recommend enough! Not to be confused with the Vietnamese restaurant called "Sweet Basil" on Marshall St, SU Campus.
To the men and women working the Sweet Basil tonight (especially the women working the front register tonight) you are all the best and are the real MVPs! Tonight was a busy Friday night; the restaurant was full, phones ringing off the hook and you guys were hustling. I’m sorry to say that every single person who came in before and after me had something to complain about and some of these complaints were the most ridiculous things (The order had the name Jim instead of James or we forgot one personal pan pizza on your 30 item order it will be out in a few minutes). Not once did anyone at the front lose their cool, talk down to anyone or be disrespectful in anyway. There’s a labor shortage and instead of being angry at these people who ACTUALLY SHOWED UP and are working working hard - take your attitudes elsewhere. I’m sorry for how poorly the community of Tully treated you all tonight, but fantastic food and fantastic service by all of you guys!
Recommended by a friend and it was everything they said it was. We will definitely be returning very soon.
Three of us went here for lunch. It was wonderful. I had a prime rib sandwich with melted cheese and onion rings. The sandwich was so good I had to cut it up and share it. Wife had buffalo chicken basket. Daughter had a meatball sub. Everything was cooked to perfection. Staff was attentive and nice.
Ordered take out. Very easy.
We eat here whenever we can. The food is great and service is always awesome. Special requests are handled as a matter of course. The deck is a great addition. The best kept secret in our little town. Keep up the good work!!!
This is one of our favorite local restaurants to eat at. They provide a comfortable atmosphere inside and outside(weather permitting). The food is always amazing and the service is always top notched every time we've eaten there. They also have a very good selection if you have a gluten allergy as well and a decent selection of beers for the non gluten allergy folks!
Had the brisket melt. So good! Also, at my table, the Mac and cheese with pork and the kitchen chicken Mac and cheese. Both got stellar reviews. I would go back! Give it a try!
Went with a bunch of out of town friends, it was great, as usual!
If you want a 5-star restaurant, go to a 5-star restaurant. This restaurant is a refreshing 'non-chain' find. The food is really good and the prices are reasonable. Excellent salads, soups and sandwiches. Great pizza. The servers have always tried to accommodate me when I make special requests. Located in the charming small town of Tully, NY, it must be doing something right, as it does minimal advertising and is still in business. It's refreshing to have a meal in this lovely old refurbished home.
We were passing through town and decided to stay at a airbnb. They recommended this restaurant. We were just blown away! I had a cheese calzone. The outside crust was crisp and flavorful. The inside was UNREAL! There must have been a pound of cheese oozing out. The flavor was incredible as was the tasty red sauce. The hostess made great suggestions and even came back to check on us. Shannon was our waitress and she was delightful and efficient . Everyone was friendly. The ambience reminds me of my Aunt Lena's....homey and comfortable. What a great adventure and dinner!
I had an opportunity in recent months to meet and work with the owners of this place. They're by far two of the most driven and dedicated people I've met in a long time. Their passion for food service clearly shows in the quality of their food. Ever changing lunch and dinner specials make this place a good fit for anyone wanting "something else" that isn't on the regular menu. And the BEER Selection is FANTASTIC! I didn't count but there must be at least 30 different drinks to choose from. Even through the covid pandemic and all the struggles that make food service during this time a challenge, the sweet basil still thrives. I highly recommend this place to everyone. I enjoy bringing the kids to dine in for pizza and drinks. They love the fishtank and friendly atmosphere. Eat here! Try the dessert!
What a wonderful surprise! Huge selection of delicious food, wait staff were great, plenty of room for larger parties as well as a smaller intimate few.
Food is AWESOME! Large portions and delicious, couldnt finish my calzone it was so huge and reasonable priced. Atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous, like stepping into a Victorian home.
This place is a wonderful little gem! We were driving back from a trip from Delaware and thought why not stop and eat normal food! We were not disappointed! Super garlicky yumminess! I had the Bruchetta salad, daughter had a calzone, and husband had the Buffalo Chicken salad…. Everything was so delicious, great portions. Our waitress was so sweet! I saw a few negative comments but it seems like they might need to stay home and cook their “special” needs food!! This place was amazing!
Looked for a restaurant half way between ithaca and syracuse, this came up and while it's not quite half way, it was worth the extra bit of driving. Everyone had a fantastic meal, the servers so so friendly. We will be back to try dinner. This is the Cobb salad, it was amazing. The lasagna special was mouth watering!
Great little eatery! The large salt-water fish tank is a fun way to pass the time. The burgers and steak sandwich were both very good.
I popped in without a reservation on a busy Sunday night just before the dinner rush and was seated quickly! I was served by a joyful and attentive server named Emily. My food was tasteful and well prepared and presented!
Our favorite place for date night! Fridays can be busy but any other night you can get a seat quickly. The restaurant uses a older house that has been transformed. Best part is the summer when you can sit out on the deck!! Great selection of local wines and beers.
Sweet Basil was a pleasant surprise. We were seated quickly and our drink orders were promptly taken. We were not rushed to order, so we were able to take our time drinking our wine and deciding what to order. I had the Cobb Salad and wasn't disappointed. It was fresh and flavorful. I would highly recommend Sweet Basil if you ever find yourself in Tully, NY.
Love them! Food is always delicious no matter what you get. Very good portion sizes. The only complaint is that sometimes the service is not the best. Other than that it is one of my favorites!! The owners are very friendly and welcoming.
We don’t go here very often, but it never disappoints. Great food and large servings. Highly recommend.
Always has and always will be the best in Tully
It was our first visit tonight but the food and service were really great! We spent $49 for two fried fish dinners (my husband got haddock and I got perch) and the portions of both the entree and sides were very generous. The outside seating area was refreshing and although the sun was beating down, the server offered to open a huge patio umbrella for us without us even having to ask. We will definitely be back.
Cozy small town vibe i absolutely loved. Food was delicious, and priced right for the portion size, and out server was so sweet!! If I'm ever in that area again I'll definitely stop back in for a bite to eat!!
Pizza and salad was the meal of the day. We shared a Hawaiian pizza and Caesar salad. The food portions are very generous and the food taste was better than expected, after all it's just pizza and salad right. Anyway the pizza crust was thin and crispy loaded with a ton of melted cheese. The service is always good. The atmosphere was a bit loud and difficult to hear.
They catered my husband's funeral. Food was amazing! Kim the owner was extremely accommodating. Daniella was our server ( and did everything else too!) Can't say enough good things about this place. Thank you! So hard to find top notch service food and people in one place, you'll find it here!
Pizza and wings are always on point. Everyone is really nice as well. Chicken Parm and Chicken Riggies are great and have large portion sizes. Meatballs and Alfredo sauce are great too!
Went there with my wife for out 19th Anniversary. Everything was excellent, the brushetta appetizer was exceptional! Out waitress Anna was also outstanding. Definitely will visit again soon!
Great food, cool place!
Drove right by and didn't see it. its a big old house converted over, right in town. Stopped to get gas and find food and a nice couple passing by told us about it while we were mapping out our ride. We'll definitely be back! Awesome food, at least what we had. Can't wait to try something different next time! Beautiful evening sitting on the deck!!! Ok, it's been a while and we have been back a few times. Its 90 minutes from home but well worth the drive or in our case the ride!!! When we want to go for a long ride in that direction and know that we'll have to get chow this is the first place we think of. So glad those nice folks turned us on to it!!!
Food was delicious. The service could have been better. The waitress tried but she needed help. Portions were large so leftovers were brought home. Just as good the second time.
Friendly home town service and really good food. From their excellent pizza to the variety of dishes they offer, all of their food is delicious. They also offer some good gluten free options. The fish tank in the restaurant is incredible and fun to watch at any age. Check hours around holidays... They closed on Halloween to host some trick or treating for the kids in town.
We’ve been ordering the Friday fish fry for pick up for the past several weeks. This is a delicious fish dinner with choice of fries or Mac n cheese. We order one of each and split it between 3 of us and it’s the perfect size nor my and my parents. I wish I could add pictures but we dig in to our to go order so quick that I never get to take one.
Very nice sit down restaurant. Service was good. Portions were large. Chicken parmesan was two breaded chicken breasts over pasta. Broiled fish platter was fresh. Ended the night with a slice of carrot cake and a lemon marscapone cake with berries. Delicious. Large fish tank for entertainment.
Food is very good Nice variety of American and Italian food on the menu reasonably priced... Service was quick and with a smile......
Great place! Food was fantastic and large amounts! The people are very friendly.
We ordered our food To-Go from The Sweet Basil because of the pandemic, it all traveled really well. Our order included the chicken parmesan (which comes on a bed of angel hair pasta) corn beef reuben’s and sweet potato fries. The chicken was moist and delicious as were the sandwiches. We definitely will return.
Well to start its just off the highway and is such a nice small place! the patio with a cool breeze cannot be beat! the service is great! and super friendly and homey. they do run out of ingredients BUT thats because they use local fresh foods so you can be happy knowing you are spending your money in a good place. the food wasn’t to die for, but still really good! would return just for the vibes alone!
First time here. Was a very pleasant surprise ! Menu had something for everyone. Table next to us was on 2nd visit and was traveling back again as they had loved the food. We got tater tot app was very good. Will try Italian nachos next time and wings...huge! Also had a calzone and Mediterranean pizza that was so flavored it was inexplanable! Service was great and prices right where they should be. Highly recommend stopping here on your travels. This will definitely be a new go to when traveling to Syracuse! Thank you!
Ordered a pepperoni calzone to go today 5-21-25. Was sooooo good and the staff were awesome. Those who complained about the food here probably aren't happy anywhere. I'm only 12 miles away and don't go often enough 😁
I order from sweet basil and eat in regularly. Ive never had anything I didnt like off their menu. Tables always appear sanitary, the wait staff are usually friendly and Ive never had a long wait for food. Pizza is always good!
The food was awesome and the service great. We dined outside it was a very nice day. Even outside the service was exceptional.
Good food, little pricy, but overall, it was a good dinner. Fish tank table is a great seat to have and relax
We love the food here. I only gave 4 stars because our take out orders get done incorrectly 10% of the time. It has improved GREATLY over the past year, though. The food is so good, we keep ordering! In the past year, we have had 2 mistakes (we order take out a couple times a month). Before, we would have inconsistencies in our order almost every time. We don't order crazy stuff; we usually just order wings and calzones. When we ate in last weekend, they messed up our order (gave us the incorrect number if wings) but fixed it and gave us the right amount.
It was a nice place to dine. Hubby had steak, I had seafood. Especially liked the onion rings. It was a slow and easy dining experience, not fast food. Waitress was pleasant and attentive.
Good place to get food in Tully. I got the Prime Rib sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was good. And the fries had a good texture and flavor. Others in my group got the skillet macaroni and cheese. We shared loaded fries. We'll be coming here again.
Called in the order. Pizza and wings. Told to wait 45 minutes for pick up. Showed up at the correct time, waited 10 minutes before being acknowledged. Once I was, my pizza was done and had to wait another 10 for the wings, which had a scheduled time for 6:00, actually got my order at 6:39, pick up was 6:15. Pizza was cold by the time I got my wings. The poor guy before me waited 10 minutes for no reason because the hostess tried to give his order to someone else. They need better organization for handling orders. And the pepperoni pizza had a whopping 6 pieces of pepperoni on it. Since my original post we've been back a handful of times. Overall service had gotten better. Food quality has also improved.
Very good food, they have the advantage of being the one primary option for the area. However, their service is horrible. They mix up orders, don't get your order submitted, etc all without ever offering any apology or acknowledgement. They do a good business but need to step up the service delivery or they will loose sales.
I eat here with the family often. My wife comments consistently that she has never had a meal here she did not like. Reading through the below reviews makes me think that either my family and I are not very fussy or only grumpy people post reviews. Either way, we are very pleased to eat here repeatedly for a casual meal.
Previous experience was awful. Gave it another try and was pleasantly surprised. Service has improved dramatically. Food was exceptional. Well done to the Sweet Basil!
Service was excellent; cozy atmosphere, but parking was limited on a Friday night. Food was good and prices were reasonable. However mac and cheese left much to be desired.
Increased to 4 stars (from my prior review of 3). The food has improved over the years. Pretty darn good beer selection, too. It's a REALLY cute place and they have a captured audience in a small town. Been many times and it's only getting better! Like the outdoor seating in the warmer months.
Very good food but can be cramped. I ordered the shrimp scampi and it was delicious. Our server, Emily, was polite and courteous; asked if we wanted to know the specials and provided information involving other dishes/drinks. Only downside is that the restaurant filled fast, even on their porch dining. Definitely recommend making a reservation if you’re sure you wanna eat here for a celebration.
Stopped in for lunch. Sat outside on their very nice deck, lovely setting. We both got salads, they were delicious! Even though it wasn't that busy we had to wait for food and our check. Lunch ended up being well over an hour for 2 salads. I'll try it again when time isn't a factor.
First time here. Service was very slow; however, my waitress seemed new that could have been why. Food was okay. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and it had no flavor. The fries were quite tasty though. I know plenty of people who enjoy it here and that is why I gave it four stars. Next time I go I would ask those people for recommendations of what to order. It was beautiful inside, I'll give them that.
Ordered pizza, and it was good. Service was good as well. Parking is the only thing I'm not crazy about, but there is a small lot out back with access to the restaurant from the rear.
My pecan salad was delicious,. And portion sizes were great. However, my mother was disappointed with her spaghetti and meatballs. The garlic in the sauce was too over powering for her taste. The wait could have been a little more attentive. We did enjoy sitting next to the fish tank. Very soothing after a stressful day.
The food was okay. I had the Chicksn Riggies and my wife had the Kickin Chicken. My wife liked hers but mine was super bland. It wasn't very spicy and it needed some fresh herbs or chicken thighs instead of breast meat. Just not a lot of flavor. The pasta was cooked perfectly though. It looked clean in the dining room and the service was okay. When we got there, it was about 25% full and never got super busy but we were told they didnt a have a normal table so they sat us at the tiniest little pub table I've ever seen. It was a game of Tetris trying to get our meals and drinks puzzled togther on it which was annoying. They had a huge salt water aquarium. With some beautiful fish and corals which was nice. Might go again to try another dish.
Pizza was average. I liked the beer list and great seating outside. Live music was wonderful.
The food is excellent, however - and this is more of a big HOWEVER - their service is less than desirable. The online ordering doesn't seem to sync with their system at the restaurant so occasionally my order online isn't processed. I've since then chosen to call in my order to simplify the process of ordering twice. Every time we've ordered from there our order is messed up in some form or fashion. Whether it be toppings on a burger or incorrect toppings on a salad, there seems to be a disconnect with what the waitresses input from our call to what the kitchen produces. There has also been extended wait times for ordering, over 10-15 minutes from what was told to us on the phone. For being an upscaled restaurant (in terms of price), the service is always unpredictable.
I was disappointed 😞 in having no back ground music. With such a tight dining area it was hard not to hear all the conversations at neighboring tables around my Husband and I. I asked about it and the server stated they had no music available. Food was a bit pricey. The philly cheese steak my husband got was a bit dry without enough cheese for his liking and the steak sandwich i ordered was very greasy.
Two of us had dinner at Sweet Basil on Friday, May 12th. The "seared salmon with a maple butter glaze" was not seared but baked and swimming in the maple butter. At $27, it was wildly overpriced. The cole slaw it was supposed to be served with was missing, and the mashed potatoes came in a dish with enough to feed 3 people. The fried "captain's platter" ($31) was extremely disappointing, since the haddock and shrimp were the only seafoods that were decent. The scallops were practically flavorless except for a slight off (ammonia) taste, and it seemed they were way past their prime. The "clam strips" were basically small pieces with a lot of breading and only about half were worth eating. Definitely not worth the charge.
OK Food for country casual dining. The prices were a little high, and the service was borderline rude. We've stopped eating there, and order out only- and the staff still finds a way to insert unwelcome comments into minimal conversation. Regardless of this- still the best Pizza in Tully.
Lots of options and the food was good, but too expensive for what you get. $4 for a tiny, side salad, same as the side options. I got a few pieces of soggy asparagus for $4. My husband added a side of shrimp for $6 and got 3 pieces of shrimp. Almost $30 for a steak. It's just a bit too pricey for being known for pizza and wings. Service was a bit slow, but only because the poor girl was overwhelmed with a few large parties. Not her fault. Staff is very friendly, and the place is cute. The food is good, just be prepared to spend more than you would expect for add-ons.
Stopped in today after hiking with a friend and her daughter. The service way good and, in general, the food was good also. My wife's pork sandwich was one of the specials today. She complained about some gristle in one of the bites but we know sometimes not all of the gristle is trimmed off. The next bite was had the same gristle complaint and on closer examination the "gristle" was the string that held the pork roast together. I showed the waitress and she was going to tell someone about it. After that - no comment, no apology, no offer of a discount - nothing. Is this a deal breaker for a return trip - probably. The food was good to ok, the prices were higher than I thought they should be and there was no acknowledgement of the mistake - probably
My second visit, years between visits. The facility is VERY pleasant, clean, and handicap friendly. Lunch on the deck is the warm fall sun was fantastic. However, the food is lifeless. Saurebraten special was more like pot roast, no zip. A great thought, but execution wasn't there.
I have always loved the chicken rigges without peppers and onions. If anyone wanted to go out for dinner that's where I would pick every time. Last time we were there I asked for them without peppers and onions and was told they no longer prepare food made to order. It was a huge disappointment.
The town of tullys only real sit down spot besides kurdish and its a tad bit of a let down, dont let the outside esthetic fool you this food will be insanely mediocre. The people are relatively normal, no complaints there could be nicer but whatever. The food is 100 percent hit or miss, the only spot on guaranteed to be good option is the calzone... and everything is overpriced for tully. Wish this place could shape up better, it would really be a nice spit if done correctly!
Not sure what is going here but service was bad. Does service bread with Italian food, fish was to have 2 sides serviced one out of the second and no condiments on table not even salt. Would live to have another drink or even water waitress only came back to give us our check so disappointed. We where there at 5.
Not sure ill ever be back. Ordered a burger off menu and was told they cant add jalapeños to burger. Also didn't want tomato and was told i had to take it off myself. Never been to a place that wouldnt appease the customer.
Was not happy with last nights visit! I have been here a few times and until last night every time has been great! Good food, good atmosphere, good service. However, last night a group of friends and I went and one friend had an issue. She ordered the captain's platter one of the more expensive seafood meals, when her dish arrived the plate was warm but the food was very cold. She even had her boyfriend try it to show him how cold it was. When mentioned to the waitress not only was nothing done, not even an offer to reheat the item, the waitress made comments implying my friend was lying that it was cold. The waitress stated numerous times " I'm sorry but I saw them take it out of the oven" and then just looked at us. My friends sat there and basically watched the rest of us eat because her meal was too cold for her to eat. Even as she asked for a box for an entirely uneaten meal, Nothing was done to correct it. She was not offered reduction of price or even the meal exempt. My friend made it very clear she could not eat the meal. I have worked in customer service and feel something should have been said or done to correct this. I understand it could have been a situation where the waitress was new and did not know what to do but she needs to understand that the customer needs to be happy when they leave. Word of mouth happens to be biggest/best source of reference and advertising for any business.
We loved the food, but absolutely HATE the service! This is the second time we have been and would like to continue to go but the servers have no care in the world! It was a very slow night when we went, maybe a total of 6 tables and a couple bar guest so I feel like there was no excuse for our servers slow 2 hour service. We were sat right away, took a few minutes to be greeted and got our drinks. We weren't ready to order when she brought our drinks so she said she would give us a few minutes, didnt realize that would have been atleast 15-20 minutes. In the waiting time I watched her walk by our table(never looked at us) a few times, watched her use the bathroom, chat to people in the kitchen, eat some food, mean while we still sat there with 3 kids and no food! Finally she comes over, we got an appetizer(hoping that would be out in a few minutes to tie the kids over until their meals came) 2 dinners that came with salads and 2 kids meals. Well 20 minutes go by and we dont have our appetizer yet, or the salads, and the 3 tables that walked in after us(2 that were hers) had there salads within 5 minutes of putting thier order in!! Finally she brings us our salads after 30 minutes from placing our order, appetizer came out shortly after that, then she proceeds to talk to a table behind us for 20 minutes after she cleared our table and told us our food will be out in just a minute. Did I mention that I saw another sever take two prescription bottles for someone at one of her tables and took whatever was in them!!! The food was amazing, the service sucked and not worth the 2 hour experience. So please train or hire new waitstaff and we will be back and bring friends, family and suggest your place to many!
The last two times we have ordered to go food, the food has been just okay. I got buffalo chicken tenders and fries and the tenders had the weirdest texture, like they needed to be cooked for another 3 minutes at least. Also, they are fried tenders yet the breading had fallen off every piece which was weird as well so I didn't eat them. I didn't call because we usually really like this place but lately the food is just not the same.
The food here is absolutely amazing, but their service leaves much to be desired. Even when you call hours ahead with a specific time in mind, you end up waiting 20-30 minutes after arriving to get your take out order. Sit down service is also at a snail's pace. The wait staff is super friendly and apologetic for the wait, but it just seems they're always behind. Perhaps they're understaffed, that's the only thing I can think of to explain the persistent and consistent wait times. I'm basing this on probably half a dozen experiences, about half and half take out vs sit down.
I had high expectations when walking in this place. The atmosphere used to be outstanding and comfortable but the staff made us not want to return the next few visits. High prices met with just alright food and bad wait staff make this place unmemorable.
Lots of mistakes on orders. The past two times we have gone they have completely messed up my orders. This time I asked twice for a pan style pizza and they still gave me the ny style which my family doesn't care for. Both times I've went they have forgotten part of my order and I've had to ask for it and wait for it to be cooked. This time both my wings and my deep fried mushrooms were forgotten and I had to point it out to the front desk then wait almost 20 minutes past my pick up time to get my food. Two other people came in complaining about their orders being wrong while I was there as well. Definitely double check your order. When they get it right the food is good though!
Unfortunately, my experience at this location has been less than satisfactory. The service leaves much to be desired, particularly when it comes to the management. The manager tends to be quite distant and unapproachable, offering little assistance when needed. This lack of engagement from the leadership is noticeable and detracts from the overall customer experience. Additionally, the food quality doesn’t align with the prices, which feels disappointing given the cost. While it’s convenient being one of the few pizza places near Tully, I’ve found that both the product and the service fall short of expectations. For those looking for a more attentive and reliable service, I’d recommend exploring other options. In particular, Circle K provides a much more customer-friendly experience, where staff are more responsive and attentive to your needs. Overall, I would not recommend this place based on my experiences.
Edit again 2/26/22 I ordered a greek pizza online and as always, put instructions to replace the kalamata with black olives. It wasn't done this time and I hate kalamata olives.. there was MAYBE 6 cherry tomato halves on the entire pizza, and zero artichoke hearts. I even lifted up the cheese to see if it was underneath. It's like they don't even care, because they clearly don't read these reviews. The wings had zero sauce of any kind and were dry. And they really need to update the website. Incorrect prices, and items on there they no longer have. Pretty much done with this place. Too expensive to not get what I ordered. Edit: I have ordered a few more times. Still on the pricey side, but the pizzas are huge and the wings are good. Friendly staff from my experience. Food was ok, but we were way overcharged. Their menu prices were not the same as online. Spent about $15 more than we should've. Not returning
Been driving past this joint for years and a month ago we stopped in for dinner. NY Style pizza came out amazing. Similar in thickness to Twin Trees with loads of pepperoni but in a 20" pie! One of the best pizza experiences of my life. The next visit the dough was 3/4" thick and awful. Tonight we ordered a pickup pizza and even stressed we wanted their thin NY Style pizza. Nope, not tonight. I might as well have ordered DiGiorno. The great service and great atmosphere goes right out the window when the quality control doesnt exist. So sad. I want that first pizza again and again and again...
I usually like everything here till today. Got a ribeye that was the smalls thing I have seen for $42 . Then there was the steak salad that was a plate full of lettuce with a small piece of steak. And to top it off neither one was cooked right.
First time back in about ten years (I had a bad experience). This's time my order got forgot not only for my meal but my beer and side salad as well. I had to ask for my salad after the meal. I like supporting local business but not if they treat me like this every time. I will not be back or ever recommend this business.
Disappointed with the management of this facility! First, I ordered the gluten free pizza with 7 toppings via online. When I ordered it I specifically typed "non-dairy cheese or no cheese". The pizza came with cheese on it. They said they didn't read that. Why give a customer the ability to state specific instructions if they don't read them. So they made another pizza and we had to wait again! Second, when my husband picked the pizza up they charged us $37.58 instead of the $23.08 which was the amount on the email from the online order. When we asked about the difference in price they stated each topping was $2.00 each yet the online choices you select state $.50 per topping. The exact difference is $14.50 which is exact cost of the gluten free pizza without toppings. Our thoughts... their customer service is when they mess up an order they charge the customer for the error instead of giving a customer discount to make up for the mistake. My husband went back to restaurant to try and get the price difference resolved. No luck! I then called and asked for management...was never able to talk with them...staff took message and said they would call back... I told the staff that the website states $.50 a topping not $2.00 a topping. We would never pay almost $40 for a 10' pizza...who would? We will not be returning to this establishment...it is unfortunate as the pizza was decent but not $40 decent. They need to learn customer service!!!!
I have not been so disappointment in a restaurant as I am with my recent experience at Sweet Basil! This was the first time that I had visit the restaurant in a could of years, since my first visit I always raved about how great of a dining experience it was. However, after tonight another word of praise will never come from me again about this establishment. We waited almost 15 mins to be seated and basically got silverware and menus thrown at us and told to find a seat on the patio on the far side. Okay, get it busy so we follow directions. Once our food was ordered we literally waited over an hour! I want to tell you that we ordered some amazing meals and that they took extra time to cook- that is NOT the case. Literally an burger, calzone and chicken parm sub. In the time it took to receive our food we never saw our waitress, she never came to see how we were or if we needed drinks, if we had she would have known that we were empty well before our food arrived. Once our food did arrive, only after I finally went and asked about the status, my onion rings were still partially frozen, the calzone did not come with sauce, and no refills on drinks, even after they were requested. We were also clearly not the only ones with frustration of the service and wait time. For we were the first ones to get food in the entire time that we were seated out on the patio and that includes people that were seated before us. We even witnessed another table’s pizza come out and it be completely wrong and they originally sent it back. Then once they realized the wait it was going to be to receive the correct order they accepted the mistake! There was no apologize for the wait! I visited with my husband and our 2 daughters (1 & 7), I will say I am impressed that my kids sat as well as they. I made my dissatisfaction very clear the waiter and she literally shrugged off and didn’t seemed bother by it, so I am guessing that the restaurant isn’t going to bothered by my review either.
Unfortunately, it was difficult to place the order by phone...put on hold for too long. The phone is located in a noisy area and the employee had trouble hearing me. We gave 2 simple chgs to 2 simple meals and were told 35 mins. The food wasn't ready for 55 mins AND neither chg in the order was made to the food. While the flavor of the food was good and it was fresh, there were far too many items that did NOT go well for us to consider eating/ordering food from there again. It was disappointing.
We had a party of 10 went here for lunch. They refused to put tables together to accommodate us. There were several open tables. So we left and enjoyed a wonderful meal elsewhere. You lost some money there.
After sitting at out table for 90 minutes we finally left. They were busy at 630pm when we arrived. So busy that our waitress took our drink order and wouldn't let us order our food, 10 minutes later she returned to tell us they had no clean cups shed get our drinks on a little bit. She took our order at that time. At 8pm we walked out with out ever getting our dinner. I spoke to management her excuse was well we are busy. I said yes I am aware your busy but I've seen people sit down after us and they are eating. I've eaten here before and the food was wonderful but tonight service was downright sad. Only once did our server stop by our table to tell us our food would be out in a "few more minutes". After I complained we were offered bread. Sad sad experience.
Have gotten take out multiple times and the food has always been delicious. Decided to dine in tonight and have NEVER had such terrible service. Waitress hardly said 10 words to us. When the food finally came, the waitress dumped sauce all over the food and table and didn’t even acknowledge it. She put my food on the other side of the table across from me. Waited for drink refills for over 45 minutes before she asked. Orders weren’t right and was charged anyways. Didn’t even finish my food because I was so upset.
Good food good service. Was 4 stars. Tonight .5 stars 5/12/23 Went out for dinner, ordered Mac and cheese with pulled pork. Not impressed! Mac and cheese customarily has cheese with it not tonight, pulled pork is just that pulled apart, not chunks of pork. Very bland, our dogs may like it as I have no intention of suffering through trying to eat it. Let's move on, our waitress wasn't anywhere to be seen, tells us she be right back and 10 minutes later finally told a different waitress we as ready to order, and asked her to please get out waitress. I was told a week ago that Sweet Basil had gone down hill and yes it has.
Tried to take my wife out to dinner. Walked in and waited in line. Two couples walked in after us and got seated before us. After getting seated we watched as three other tables got their drinks, orders were taken and their food was served. We waited during this time and never had a waitress/waiter come to our table. They kept looking at us but none stopped. We were seated at 5:56 PM and got up and walked out at 6:23pm. No drinks, no food, no service. Will never go back. Do not recommend.
After many years of bad food and service I told myself I would only order pizza take out. Today was the last straw! Way over priced. About 3x the amount of cheese any pizza should have. Crust is gross and it looks like a toddler cut it into slices. This place keeps going down hill.
As a resident of Tully, we order from here once a week at least. The pizza has gone back to being terrible It looks like they are back to using pizza crust shells instead of fresh dough. There is no love at all put into their pizzas. Do not order. The pizzas were terrible four years ago when we first moved in to town and started getting them and then something changed. They started being awesome and tasty. UNFORTUNATELY, THEY HAVE GONE BACKWARDS NO TASTE. THE DOUGH IS TERRIBLE. IT’S NOT EVEN DOUGH. IT’S A PIZZA SHELL AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO LOVE BEING PUT IN. TO THE MAKING OF THE PIZZAS. DO NOT BUY. 7/16/25
