Amazing food, I came for breakfast. Fast service too.
We come here because of good reviews and we are not disappointed. We came when it looked a bit busy, but we still got great service and good food. We will definitely recommend it to everyone seeking a quality meal.
Club Calpella was a Childhood spot for me, everytime I visit ukiah I always make sure to stop by and at least order the Ultimate French Dip, which I ate countless times as a child, and is still the best French Dip I have ever had. The atmosphere is nostalgic for me personally, but I think it would feel homey for anyone. They have a jukebox that you can pay to play specific songs on.
Best food around this area for the best price. Staff is very nice. A pleasure to visit every time im in Ukiah
Excellent dinner on a weekend, and a fair price.
Posting for my daughter she lived ordering tea and getting full service the panimal pancake was so thick and delicious she ate it with no butter or syrup. Also it was decorated for Halloween was nice
OMG the eggs Benedict are seriously great, equally to the biscuits and gravy. Nuts great bacon. Its an old classic cool bar and dining room. Like old west. Insanely good food and happy nice people.
Everyone needs to try their Ultimate French Dip and seasoned fries. Just do yourself a favor and go for it. We are seriously considering the 3 hour round trip just to go get another one. Our whole party was impressed by the quantity and quality of everything we ordered. They were happy to set up a 6 top with a 30 min notice. Prime rib was served as ordered, no disappointment there. The au jus was so good. It was like a delicious consume instead of thin brown water.
This place is a gem. Great service thanks Travis B, simple old school bar/restaurant that has a ton of great options. Bison burger was cooked perfectly. The shrimp wrap was delicious and having these shrimp options shows they get their food from the source. Upgraded to the beer battered fries and ate every single one of them. Good cocktails, cold beer.
I travel a lot, and while I’m traveling I try to avoid fast food or chain restaurants that I have in my home town(other than Jersey Mike’s). So when I stayed the night in Ukiah, I noticed there weren’t a ton of appealing options in my opinion. So I ended up at Club Calpella. Im always down for a good hole in the wall, and believe me, the place doesn’t look like much from the outside. But the outside doesn’t matter right? Never judge a book by its cover and what not. So I go in and it’s your typical small townish bar, everyone stopped and looked at me, the only person bartender Caroline didn’t know the name of, with a big welcoming smile. She hands me a menu and I had to ask “what’s the most popular item here” because it all looked great. And she said everything is popular and the menu hasn’t changed in nearly 50 years. That says something to me, like hey I’m good at this, I’m not changing it. So I settled on the steak sandwich, ordered beer battered fries with it and the soup of the day beef barley. Let me tell you something.. I’ve eaten a meal in just about every state in this beautiful country, but the standard has been set again. The steak sandwich was literally a New York strip, cooked perfectly medium, on two pieces of garlic toast, I could have sat the bread aside and had a steak dinner, but I needed to know how to handle this. The fries were top 10 nationwide and the veggies on the side were perfectly seasoned and way too delicious for vegetables. The beef barley soup was also homemade and I don’t even know what all was in it but I’d eat that from a hole in the ground. I love places like this, maybe it’s nostalgia kicking in, but if you took away the small hometown feel of this place and put it in a big city with fancy lights and a brand new building, the food holds up to any star rated restaurant I’ve ever been to. Thank you so much for welcoming me to the club. If I see my way back here, I will always stop by.
I ❤️ coming here for a prime rib dinner that comes with choices for you starches (baked potato, fries, mash, rice) bread, soup or salad, and a cup of ice cream all included. The side salad is loaded with goodies! The good Ranch, blue cheese, and some others. Its the best side salads or dinner salads in all of Nor Cal, that I have found. (Not counting salad bars). The price is more affordable then most places in California. They also have a Bad Ass Bloody Mary (it's called that), that has prawns, bacon, olives, lime, and a pepper. There is a full bar attached to the restaurant. They also have other steaks, burgers, pasta, prawns, ect. We did not like the fish, shellfish plater at all. It tasted like frozen box fish and looked like them. Don't get it! Over all, I like the place.
After what seemed like a long time ago, we returned to Club Calpella since we were in the area. It's a hidden gem. If you didn't know where it was, you might drive right past it. I'm just glad it survived the lockdown. Many good places didn't. From the street, the actual door is to the far right of the building, but you can go thru the bar to get to the restaurant. The bathrooms are well kept for a bar/restaurant. It can be pricey. Not many restaurants that aren't. Even fast food. We got the appetizer platter, 2 drinks, 2 burgers with salads (which is extra with meals), and that cost us 70. But we had leftovers which covered another meal altogether so it was worth it. The food was really good, tho my burger wasn't as well done as I prefer, it was still very yummy. They even had honey mustard for moms salad, which even our favorite diner in town doesn't have. Food was made promptly, tho it wasn't that busy, and it was early afternoon, so take that as you will. The waitress was really nice and helpful. All in all, it was quite a delicious and fun experience.
Pretty good food for good prices and portions. We sat outside on the patio for breakfast and it was nice, the service was not as attentive since we were outside but our waitress was still very accommodating and friendly. One thing to note is that there is a very cute cat that wanders around the tables outside, doesn't bother the customers but if you don't like cats/are allergic sitting inside would probably be better. Enjoyable experience overall!
Great food, really nice staff with good service. The staff was very curtious and checked on us alot. The food is ALWAYS great. I recommend anything from a quiet dinner for 2 to a dinner party for your birthday. It's a great place just to hang out and have a good time.
The service was wonderful and everyone was very kind. Food was served quickly but was pretty subpar. I ordered the penne alfredo with shrimp which featured a watery grey sauce and the shrimp was not appetizing. My friend ordered the French dip with fries which was okay but very dry.
If you purchase your burger and intend to modify it in any way be prepared to pay $$$$. One burger with Jalapenos added and subbed fries for onion rings totaled $31.00. In addition if you order pick up don't tip. It's automatically added to the total along with an "order fee"
