The food and drinks are delicious and the servers are nice. They have a new dessert which isn't on the menu yet: fried ice cream. It is a big scoop of vanilla ice cream covered in batter and fried. They drizzled some chocolate on it after frying it. It was delicious, and the breading tasted like a donut😋. We also got an appetizer of super nachos, which were delicious as well. I got some quesabirria tacos, which surprisingly didn't have much cheese, despite being named after cheese (queso)?🤨 They had a lot of beef though, and were really delicious, especially with the birria, lime, and veggies on the side. The salsa they came with was too spicy for me, though. The quesabirria plate didn't come with rice and beans, so I had to order some on the side. They were really good, though. I also got some agua de piña, which was delicious. They also have agua de jamaica and horchata. The chairs are really big. They have cushions, so they are comfy. The tables are nice. Most of the food came on plates with pictues on them, which was nice. The chips and salsa at the beginning came with red salsa, green salsa, and a brown dip that tasted like beans and meat, maybe bacon? It was really good.
Has the greatest food and service in town. Truly an amazing experience worth the money. Ate the food quicker than I remembered to take pics. Sorry.
Excellent service and some really great Mexican food. Everything from the salsa and chips to the main dishes were tasty. Highly recommend chili relleno, the burritos and the kids menu has a quesadilla my son loves. The new location has a lot of charm, check it out!
Good Mexican food! Authentic and delicious. Great portions, you definitely won’t leave hungry. Margaritas are great!
It was great. I even list my wallet and all they cared about was me finding it. I found it. They were so sweet about the whole mess. I definitely recommend this place. Food is very good.
I love the location they moved to! Cool atmosphere, the food was great, and the service was good! We arrived on a Friday evening and got surprised by a mariachi band, nice touch!
Amazing food great service amazing live music. Well done thanks for accommodating our 12 person party!

I have been there twice, the old location. I really love the people and the food there. Had the big molcajete dish twice, it is the best I've had w/ a spicy red sauce. At some other restaurants, including in Mexico, I've had worse ones, some w/ a creamy cheese sauce. Ugh. I am excited to be heading to Ukiah again in early September to see the new location. I will post a photo of the amazing molcajete dish.
Our new favorite restaurant in Ukiah! A real class-act! Friendly, professional service with a smile. The food is fresh and delicious! The restaurant atmosphere is lively and inviting, like a Friendly neighborhood gathering. It was extremely busy both times we went, but the service was still excellent!
Been here twice and the burrito and tacos are so good. Especially the tacos. A few things are a bit on the salty side but that means they use seasoning here. I’ll go back a bunch for sure.
My first visit here went really well; I ordered the Super Shrimp Burrito and it was a hit! I plan to head back soon to try more of their menu. Also of note, in addition to chips and two kinds of good salsa they also serve a great bean dip that again I enjoyed. A+
Love this place, everything i have tried is great, burritos, fajitas, the special with their name. Great bold flavor, my favorite in Ukiah.

I love this restaurant. Best Mexican food around. The new location is great! But I feel I have an obligation as someone who really cares about this place to inform them of a mistake. Mostly to make you aware of a law so you don’t get in trouble. In Ukiah, CA, a restaurant cannot charge a credit card fee or surcharge on top of the cash price. California law prohibits merchants from adding surcharges for credit card payments, while allowing discounts for cash, check, or debit card payments if offered to all customers. Here's why: California Law: Civil Code section 1748.1 explicitly prohibits merchants in California from adding a surcharge when customers pay with credit cards instead of cash. Permitted Discounts: The law allows for cash, check, or debit card discounts, but only if those discounts are offered to all customers, regardless of payment method. Transparency: Businesses must clearly disclose any discounts or surcharges to customers before they make a payment. Therefore, a restaurant in Ukiah cannot charge a separate fee for using a credit card and a lower cash price; they can only offer a discount for paying with cash, check, or debit. I hope this help’s as I think the fine can be up to $1000. @ receipt.
showed up on a Friday night and the place was packed inside and out. short wait time for table of 2. there was a live band playing a free show. service and food were both great. highly recommend getting the quesabirria tacos and flan
El Molcajete is a great spot for authentic Mexican food in Ukiah. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and beautifully decorated with vibrant colors and comfortable tables that blend traditional Mexican elements with a modern, cozy feel. One thing that really stands out is how busy it is with Latino guests — always a good sign that the food is truly authentic and well-made. I was welcomed with fresh chips and salsa, along with avocado salsa, red salsa, and beans — everything was flavorful and delicious. I also tried the octopus tostada and ceviche, which were fresh, well-seasoned, and very enjoyable. The highlight of the meal was their famous molcajete. It came sizzling and full of flavor, with a generous mix of meats, chicken, cactus, onions, and beans, all served in a traditional Mexican molcajete. Absolutely delicious and perfect for sharing. They also offer options with just chicken or shrimp, which is a nice touch. Service was mostly good. My server was friendly, though a bit distracted at times. Cristian stepped in to check on me and made sure everything was okay, which I appreciated. Overall, El Molcajete offers great food, authentic flavors, and a lively atmosphere. Definitely a place I’d recommend if you’re craving real Mexican cuisine in Ukiah.
Great food great service good atmosphere but not the best Mexican food In town all around 4/5 it's a must try

Well this was my first time eating at this location. Its nice and newly remodeled. Unfortunately there's a few things I didn't like. First they did take quite awhile for our food to arrive. Secondly when the food did arrive I noticed that it wasn't even hot more on the cold side. I had ordered some tacos and as I picked up the first one the tortilla fell apart because of how soggy it was. Basically it had been sitting for a while till they brought it to me. They also did something I had never seen at a restaurant. It is odd to complain about but I kid you not they asked us "is everything ok" about 10-15 times throughout the time we spent at our table . Many times one waiter would come up and ask us then 30 seconds later another came and asked the same thing. I appreciate the effort but it became strange after the fifth time. Unfortunately the food was your average Mexican restaurant. Very expensive as well. Overall, decent place. But not worth the price.

This is one the worst Mexican food restaurants I have ever gone too. I have rated over 30 up down the state. The refried beans were very watered down and not sure if there were any beans in it. The enchilada was a thick short toquito with watered down, bland sauce. I had no sour cream or guacamole. My chile relleno was bland just an egg taste couldn't ever taste the chili. The salsa was their best attribute. I would have tried the pineapple dish but the didn't offer it in chicken. The staff was friendly and restaurant clean and chairs were very uncomfy especially for plus sized patrons. Don't try this one!!!

The food was mediocre, not what you would expect with the name of the place. The chips and salsa were good but youre to mad to eat them cause you cant dip your chip in the bowl. I got the fajitas and they gave me 4 flour tortillas that were street taco size not enough for the amount of fajitas given. Then charged for 4 more. Just you average plan mexican/American food. Wish I could have given more.
Decent food for the price. Absolutely the worst service. Three waitresses too busy talking to one another instead of checking on customers. We were not the only ones waiting for refills, napkins silverware etc. It was not busy and the bussboy was taking on more responsibily than the 3 waitresses.

I went to this Mexican restaurant for the first time today. I thought I would try something new. I ordered the mole burrito. The burrito was supposed to come with rice, beans, sour creme and your choice of meat. I ordered carnitas. They gave me a burrito stuffed full of pork, a few beans here and there, there was no rice or sour creme. When I asked about it they said, “Oh, I’m sorry.” And did nothing. They didn’t even ask if I would like them to give me some rice and some sour creme. At the end, when it was time to pay, the owner/manager, says, “oh, I’m sorry.” Didn’t offer to reduce the price based on their errors. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed by the service, the food, the bad manners of those who worked there. Additionally, the food is high priced and the quality is very poor. I would advise to anyone don’t go there to eat. Lastly, I told the manager they just list a customer based on the above review. He did nothing or say anything.
We have always been extremely supportive and happy for the delicious food, bold beautiful authentic Mexican dishes. Move into the new and unique restaurant the food has gone extremely down hill. If I wanted crappy Mexican food I would go to Elasteca .

TRASH!!! Customer service TRASH!! Walked in and sat down damn near 10 minutes until someone asked if we wanted water or something to drink. Waitress looked right at me and said I’ll be with you then walked off and immediately started laughing with her coworker and my wife had to say excuse me can someone get us some water. People came in after us and already had chips and salsa water and an alcoholic beverage. We were charged extra for salsa and I ordered some grilled peppers with my food and was charged extra for that. Food was mid at best. We will NEVER!!! Go there again!!!
