Good prices and even better serving portions! Felt like I’m back home!
We haven't had much Filipino food but we got the grilled squid and pork belly. Both yummy. Friendly staff.
Went here twice, once to dine in and once for takeout. The staff is so nice and accommodating and the food is so delicious! We had the bangus, the adobo rice, laing, lechon, and the bbq chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious - really quality Filipino food here!
My first time to tribu grill The food is the best The service is good The place i like it
Criminally underrated! Hard to beat their sinigang, and their other dishes are good as well.
Delicious food, we really like the adobo rice with flakes and the beef salpicao. The servers are really approachable and really nice. We’ll come back for sure! The pancit bihon is great too.
Our server, if I am not mistaken her name is Ate Elvira, who is very intentional about what she does. Even if she is the only server on the floor at that time coz there was a party. She made sure we were served on time. She is very courteous. I even ordered take out.
Great experience. Food is an absolute steal with the quality, price and portion. Restrooms in the rear, 2 stalls per gender. Karaoke on Friday evenings. Highly recommend and hope to bring more people to enjoy this place.
It’s our first time to eat here. Compared to Gerry’s grill , Tribu is better based on the food, service, price and atmosphere. Food is actually better than i expected, very delicious and tasty! The portion is large size and price was reasonable! The atmosphere is very welcoming and clean. The staff is very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable of the menu. Service is prompt and timely. Definitely will come back here and recommend to others who craves or wants to try Filipino Food.
Pancit and garlic rice 🍚 is really good. All the food we ordered was great especially for the price.
It's been several years since my family and I have eaten @ Tribu. Not because of the food or service but we no longer live in the area. I was really surprised about the negative reviews because we always had a positive experience prior to us moving. We thought the cooks are new or new management. Anyway, we took a chance and decided to take the drive here. To be honest, my wife was craving Tribu ice tea! It's the only reason we made the trip today! 😋 Its not on the menu so you have to ask for it by name. We were seated right away since we were the 1st customers to arrive at 1130 am during week. We ordered the 2 rice plates with bbq pork and lechon kawalli. Also, beef nilaga and the entree of pork bbq. Everything was delicious. The pork was tender and grilled perfectly. The nilaga broth was so flavorful with a good ratio of oxtail to veggies. I'm glad we took a chance to try eating here again and i brought up the issue about the past negative reviews to our server and he took it to heart. He told me, they read the reviews. He mentioned they have new cooks so im hoping those who had terrible experiences in the past try them again. Being Filipino and proud of our culture and food. I applaud the businesses who promotes the food of the Philippines. Filipino food does not get the notoriety that it should receive! So what are you waiting for? Kain Tayo!😋 (Lets eat)
Really delicious Filipino family-style dining at Tribu Grill in Union City. The adobe rice was sooo garlicky and yum. And the lechon kawali was perfectly fried, with bursts of rich fatness and crunch that's so loved in pork belly. Absolutely loved the calamansi cooler's tartness, too!
Great service! Very friendly and service was quick! The food was delicious! Couldn't pick from the menu so I ended up ordering more than I could eat! Definitely need to come back here some other time!
Tribu Grill has a fun environment with great, fast service and kicks it up to the next level with authentic Filipino cuisine. Conveniently located in a popular shopping area within Union Landing in Union City, CA. The great experiences have convinced me to return several times with each experience being consistent. Occasionally, live bands are playing for an added entertainment value. While there are some excellent Filipino restaurants in the area, Tribu Grill is one that I'd recommend.
Best place for a party. Food is Great! Service was impeccable 👌
I often enjoy carryout from Tribu Grill, they have a wonderful menu and friendly staff.

My first time to tribu grill The food is the best The service is good The place i like it
This place has always been my go to place for the best filipino food in the East Bay. Better than most places even on the Peninsula. Their KareKare is to die for and the old standards like adobo and sinigang are always on my order. Each time I have to entertain a visitor who wants Filipino food, this is where I take them. Always hits the spot and on the weekends is a good place to catch some of the Bay's best live bands just like home. Seems like they have it all here great food, great music...what else can one ask for?
Very nice Filipino restaurant. One of the very few in the Bay Area worth visiting. The Binagoongan Fried Rice is a favorite here. Staff and service was good.
I had a Monday night dinner here with friends. It was quiet which I don’t mind. Portions were good sized, not huge but definitely not skimpy. I enjoyed the grilled milkfish, oxtail and beef shank soup, and crispy tofu and eggplant in sticky and sweet sauce. I don’t have Filipino cuisine often, but I liked this place.
Lots of reasonable priced food options. They even have brown rice as an option it only added 50cents to the cost of my meal with is far less then I have paid for it before. Large pleasant interior. The chicken I had was flavored well and came at a good temperature. The brown rice was nice not flavored in any way as I would expect.
My go-to place whenever i need a great meal. I like the Pinoy Fiesta for it's taste and affordable price. $27.00 for all of these: Pork Bbq, Sisig, Bistek, Fried Veggie Lumpia and Rice good for 4 people.
The food was good. Am happy it was authentic Filipino food not fusion. Serving size is also good. We had a late lunch and the staff still graciously welcomed us. If ever, the only thing noticeable that could be better is the noise level. Staff was loud, trying to talk to each other from different ends of the space.
Co. worker claimed that I wouldn't be disappointed if I trued this place out. So I did. The food was actually good. My server was kind and informative. She helped me navigate the menu choices. Her suggestion for a dish was spot on. I truly wnjoyed my meal.
We went here on Saturday afternoon around 1pm. When we entered the restaurant, no one greeted us - seemed like they all were on a break. After waiting for 5 minutes, someone finally seated us. We ordered Silog with bangus (milk fish) and Rice plate of chicken inasal. The food came out in about 10-15 minutes after we ordered. For the price & portion of each dish, it was worth it. Chicken inasal rice plate: they gave 2 pieces of chicken thigh with garlic rice. Although the chicken was tender, it was bland - could be marinated a bit more. I wish they fried the chicken a tad longer so the skin could be crispier. Silog with bangus: was delicious! The fish were crispy! However, maybe I got a skiny fish so I didn't get a lot of meat. The tomato & onion pickle was tasty too. Overall, the portion was good relative to the price (below $10!). Will try their other menu when we're in the area.
Place is clean and upscale. Lots of food choices. Came here for dessert only. Server was not attentive to customers needs. Took her quite a while to getmy order. I had to ask her for fork, napkins, and drink.
You'll never feel away from home in california. A lot of filipino restaurants with their own unique way of attracting people, onw of these is thw tribu grill in union city. They served traditional filipino meals and the design of the restaurant itself makes you feel that you're at home.
From my trip to Philippines earlier, I could correlate to the food and taste - fairly close to authentic. They are somewhat understaffed so issue with service and attention to customers. Live music is a plus!! Overall happy with experience.
If you are looking for a place to experience the original taste Halo halo (mix fruit). Wow🍧😋This is the right place👍👍👍. Believe me when I say it is best halo halo in Union City. Next time I will try their specialty's

Good food and very affordable (My Filipino husband enjoyed too)

I ordered the Fiesta Silog and was so excited to try it , the price was reasonable but I just don't like that most of the food has the sweet taste in it from the tapa to the eggplant enchilada even the sisig. Madaling makaumay. But I do like other menus though.
Decent place for Filipino food. Love their Sinigang here. Prior to COVID, this place had live bands on some nights. Good place for a some what large event for a Birthday and such.
We went for lunch on a weekday and it was empty. Food was not so great for our liking. We ordered two entrees and could finish one entree at all.
I've been in this restaurant a few times. food is good and the place is sometimes rented as a venue. the place is small but it has a nice feel to it. my big gripe about this place is that the last time I was here my wife and I bought food to go (dinner) .. went back to our hotel room only to find out that they did not include any utensils. we had to leave our room again .. go downstairs to our hotel lobby.. stand in line and ask for utensils from the lobby staff so that we can eat our food. we were so hungry and so tired from the days activities.. all we wanted to do was eat our food.
I still miss the previous Tribu Grill food… I’ve only been here 5x since the new management/owner took over years ago. Honestly I would have not come on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th time if not to show support to our friends’ bands and to attend (birthday and Christmas) parties. Their food is not the reason to come here… for my case it’s just the company of friends.

Sadly Tribu Grill served us a frozen Shirmp which is a bit off. The beef kaldereta isnt tender.. Tribu Grill can do better
The food are ok, need to improve the taste overall, the service needs to improve as well. I mean they'll greet you when you come in and seat you, but don't expect they'll come back to ask if you're ready to order and when you're done eating even they saw you done eating they wouldn't bother asking if you're ready to checkout. Always, never miss every time I come to this place I always call for check after raising my hands many times they still don't see you. One time I've been raising my hands for long time I got tired I walk inside the counter grab some to go boxes and plastic bag and said to counters check please.
It was our first time to try this place. We usually go to another Filipino restaurant in the area. We ordered the lumpia and when my boyfriend took a bite of it he immediately spit it out because he said it was disgusting. We also ordered a couple of fish dishes on the menu, the sizzling bangus belly and sizzling tuna. Both of the sizzler platters weren’t warm enough and turned cold just after a couple minutes. The bangus was okay but the tuna wasn’t good at all. We also had the shrimp sinigang and it was the worst sinigang we ever had. Overall it wasn’t worth a try to come to this place.

It was my first time trying this place and it's probably also going to be my last. First off, all of the food I'd ordered was incredibly bland. I'd ordered dinuguan and ginataang chicken, both of which, while fresh, were just incredibly bland. I've had Filipino food only a few times in the past but I definitely don't remember it being this bland. The staff was friendly but the service was astronomically slow as I had to wait nearly 40 minutes to my meal to arrive. Maybe I just had a one-off bad experience but I probably won't be coming back.

We've had disappointing experience with this restaurant in the past, either lousy food, or most often, terrible customer service. We still come here once in a while to give them chance to redeem themselves. We tried their grilled longaniza rice plate recently, which in my opinion, was surprisingly pretty good. Just don't let them put that layer of banana leaf, it gives the food that weird taste. The following incident was my last straw. We came here Friday night around 7 p.m. There were only a few customers, maybe 3 or 4 tables. One of the staff, an older woman, guided us to our table. My wife went to the restroom and I started looking at their menu. All of a sudden, this same staff asked me if we were the couple that was here 4 weeks ago, ordered a bottle of wine, and did not settle the bill. What a stupid, ridiculous and offensive question to ask a customer. I did not want to be rude, so I just replied "No, I don't even drink". Then she told the other younger girl server, "It wasn't them" without even apologizing to me. I told my wife about the incident, and we asked for the owner or a manager. Apparently, she was the manager (really?). She just said "Oh, we thought it was him who ordered the wine, but he's not the one". We asked her if she asked the other customers the same question. She just said "No, it was random, sorry". We told her that her actions were and inappropriate, offensive and rude, and that she should not treat any customer that way. Obviously, we had to leave the restaurant. We will NEVER go back to this restaurant ever again. I just hope the owners are reading this so they can make steps to improve their customer service.
Worst Filipino food ever! So bad we didn't take our leftovers! Bbq was cut into cubes of mostly fat, sour, and too soft like it was precooked then cut and skewered! Sisig was I don't know...the best thing from the meal was the calamansi slush. PLEASE DON'T GO!
What a horrible lunch experience. They missed half the order and then blamed us for messing it up. After waiting an hour we had to go back to the kitchen to ask what happened. There are better filipino dining experiences in union city and I would suggest you try those No service, average food.
Sat down & after 23 mins had to get the server to order. It then took about 19 mins for the drinks to arrive & then it took another 29 mins for the half order of the food to arrive. This has been happening for a while. A person told me in the restroom that another person waited 40 mins for his food to arrive. They need to hire 3 more servers to fulfill the orders or so.
My kids and I were here on Sunday for lunch and that would the last time. Everything we ordered is horrible. Sinigang mostly fat and bones, pork liempo is oily and kare kare is bad. Never will recommend this place
They canceled my pre-paid order via e-mail less than 1 hour before scheduled pick-up. Got me in panic mode as my guests were arriving soon and I had nothing to feed them. Could have given earlier notice. Very unprofessional.
Food was not only expensive, but barely edible. Very disappointing, since we believed the reviews and drove extra miles to try it! We paid over $100.00, for wasted food. Still looking for real, authentic Filipino cuisine in the Bay Area, but not much success, so far!
It's been awhile since we've eaten at Tribu. Used to go at San Bruno and enjoyed their food. I'm sad to say that we didn't enjoy their food at all. Quality and taste is below average. Ordered bicol express and came out to be chicken. Our waiter returned it in the kitchen, and in just few minutes came back with pork. It looks like the pork was blanched and put in coconut milk. Not so appetizing to look at. Beef Kaldereta seems like reheated meat. We only ate a bit and their veggie lumpia and waited for our waiter to come back but to no avail. To think, we were the only customer at that time. I called their restaurant # from my cellphone and told the person who answered the phone that we are ready to pay. What a sad experience and we were even craving to eat Filipino food.
Since the place was under staffed, I didn't get a chance to order anything. The band was cool and playing some cool jams, but again couldn't order any drinks cause the waitress never came back to our table after giving our meals. In short I'm not coming back, they wasted my time waiting for service that never happened. They ruined what could have been a great night.
I never write reviews but this is worth it. I ordered Chichen with garlic rice family sized. the only thing family sized about this was the mountain of tomato’s and vegetables on my rice. Nothing even said this was on the rice. Plus the rice was soaked in something nasty. Waist of money
Very poor service, the server that we have didn't even get all our orders. At first they deliver our drinks waited for 15 minutes for the appetizer. Then another few minutes for our first dish ” pork sisig”. Then another few minutes for the vegetable that we order. It took an hour for us to get our fish. And what makes things worse before our fish dish was given to us I asked the server if he could follow for the fish and for the chicken inasal. He was so nice to say yes. Then after another 15 minutes I call him again to follow up with the chicken inasal and extra rice. Then he suddenly he said that we did not order the chicken inasal. How crazy is that?i will definitely not recommending this place. They have very poor service despite of having good food here.🤬🤬🤬🤬
