I had a birthday party and needed catering for 30 people, I have been going to upland Kabob for many years but I have not used their catering. Honestly at first, I was little concern but WOW! They did an amazing job, most authentic Persian food in this area, hands down! Absolutely delicious!!!
The food is always yummy, and the service is great. Lovely little family run restaurant
Got the lunch buffet special here!!!! Awesome price, great food, lovely people. Even treated myself to some $6 dessert. Every time I fly out of Ontario airport I stop by and get the lunch special. Great way to fuel up on meat!!! They had beef lule kabob, chicken, and another beef dish on their lunch buffet. Also the usual stuff like hummus, salad, etc. Highly recommended!!
Fresh wonderful food! Good buffet made fresh. First time my wife and I went, Will definitely be going back! Clean place and friendly staff! Spicy or non. Nice and quiet place to go!
The restaurant is one of the best Persian locations; my first in California. The service was terrific, and the meal was delicious. The dinner entrees kept me speechless, but I hope to return to the buffet option.
Food was great, service was good. If you know the culture, you know that Persians linger on their meals, so service was appropriate to the culture! ie They let us enjoy the meal without so many interruptions. Very nice! Will be back on Saturday evening for the belly dancing! Plays Persian music, I like that! Ordered dessert had chocolate moose cake, and baklava they were tasty.
Outstanding food. Very clean restaurant too. Love coming here. Im having the garlic chicken which it's perfectly cooked and tasty, my husband is having the lamb shank and its out of this world.
Amazing food. Its like healthy comfort food. Clean very hospitable people who work there. Make sure to tip them well. Food and service best I've had in California so far.
There buffet is fresh they have a good price 12.00 per person until 3pm.monday - friday. I love Mediterranean food, I've been here several times and the food is always amazing. It's right off mountain ave in upland.its quiet and really authentic.
I had the Chicken Shish. It was a Great meal. The Chicken was very moist and had so much flavor. The rice was the lightest and had incredible flavor. The owner was very nice. If you do not try this place you are missing out.
Very good food and service! Atmosphere is very elegant with beautiful decor, would definitely recommend!
Very good food if you love to try different foods. This was my first time eating Persian food
My wife and I wanted to try something new and found Upland Kabob on Google Maps. My wife ordered a Mediterranean Salad with a Chicken Kabob, I ordered a Chicken Kabob with a Lima bean rice side.As they had just opened they didn't have that item ready yet, and I date and raisin rice. Which I was asked if I ever had before. "No" I replied but I was open to try. As evident by my rating, it was amazing. When the staff came to see how we were doing, I reported that I Loved the rice. Sorry no photos, I dug into eating and never stopped until it was gone.
Amazing food. Staff is extremely kind. Will definitely be going here more often
This family business is just the best! My son's and I have been coming here since they opened and will continue coming as often as we can. The customer service is incredible. They are an example as to what great service is. The food has always been amazing. Unmatched locally to be honest.
WOW WOW WOW.... I finally got a chance to bring my family here to experience the food. I am SOOOOOO GLAD that we ate here. The hospitality of the staff is outstanding, the ambiance of the restaurant is sooooo inviting (literally I just wanted to relax here all night). Now, let's talk about the food.... THIS IS A HIGH 20 OUT OF 10. I have eaten at several Persuan places but NOTHING tops this place. I will be coming back with my foodie group!
The food here is amazing!! I got the combination plate of lamb and chicken with the garlic sauce. Shared a piece of cheesecake for dessert-excellent and not too sweet at all! It might be a little pricey but definitely worth the money. I for sure plan to go back 👍🏻😊
Extremely friendly and personable. Family owned and operated. Wonderful selection, generous portions, and their cheesecakes are out of this world! Ask for their garlic paste. You will want to take home a jar of their garlic paste. So addictive. My favorite restaurant in Upland.
This is my favorite place to eat Kabab Koobideh! It’s always perfectly cooked and so tasty with its jasmine rice and small salad. Staff are very nice as well and restaurant is pleasant and well decorated.
My friends and I recently had an amazing lunch at Upland Kabob, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was delicious, and the service was phenomenal. I ordered the Koubideh, a traditional Persian dish, which came with rice and salad. The Koubideh was perfectly seasoned and cooked, making it incredibly flavorful. The rice was fluffy and complemented the dish well, while the salad was fresh and crisp. We also had hummus with pita bread as an appetizer. The hummus was creamy and rich, and the pita bread was warm and soft, making it a delightful start to our meal. Overall, everything we had was delicious, and I would definitely come back. Highly recommended!
Attentive service, comfortable and welcoming environment. Delicious food. Feels like visiting your Persian friends and Grandma is in the kitchen. Fresh, warm pitas bread with hummus and cucumber sauce. The meals are generous and filling
Our first time ever & definitely not our last!!! Server was super efficient & friendly. Food was delicious!! We absolutely loved everything! From the basmati rice to the salad to the beef & chicken!!! DELICIOUS, DELICIOUS, DELICIOUS!! Highly recommend if you’re in the area or want to try something different.
Great food and service .. yes its not cheap but what’s cheap now a days
I'm going here for over 10 years. There was a bit of a hiccup a couple of years ago during COVID, but I was glad to share my feedback with the staff today that the style of kabob they do now is the way it should be. Traditional Koobideh from the Persian culture.
My family and I have eaten here for several years and we love this place. My wife tends to start with a Persian salad, and my boys eat the warm pita bread with butter. We always order the beef sultani, the chicken sultani, and, occasionally, the chicken and beef koubideh platters. My kids love the rice (my wife and I are on keto, so we don’t have any), and my wife and I devour the kabobs (the kids like the koubideh). We love the taste. I just wish more people would frequent this establishment. We never see this place full of diners.
Wow! I had the garlic chicken and a lamb skewer, my husband had chicken and beef! They were amazing! And need I say garlic butter!
The food was succulently tasty. Service was on point. Had the game on while we ate. Will be returning.

I’ve tried several kabob places in the past, but none ever came close to what I was looking for, so I eventually gave up trying. Today, I decided to give Upland Kabob a shot, and I’m so glad I did—it exceeded all my expectations! Every bite was absolutely delicious, and the flavors were spot on. But what truly stood out was their homemade garlic paste—it’s an absolute must-try! It takes everything to another level. Their hot sauce was amazing too, adding the perfect kick. On top of that, their customer service was outstanding—everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
We ate lunch here recently. Great service. Homemade food. Lovely people. If you want Persian food in Ontario, this is a hidden gem. Chicken kabob, beef kabobs, hummus, yogurt & appetizers all delish. Wonderful baklava. Free parking lot.
I've been wanting to let everyone know about the great "Food" as well as their excellent recipes and service in this one of a kind restaurant located in Upland. "UPLAND KABOB" It's easy to find, very clean. I highly recommend it to everyone, please give yourself a break of the same old food places, and go enjoy good meals at UPLAND KABOB.
This is a great place to have a nice meal. Especially if anyone is looking for lamb shank.
Fantastic restaurant! The food was excellent and the attentive service from the husband and wife owners made our dinner more than just a meal. The Ash soup, Chicken Sultani and Beef Kabobs was some of the best food we've had. Warm and comfortable atmosphere. I highly recommend Upland Kabob.
Absolutely loved this place! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. You can really taste the quality and authenticity in every dish. Everything we ordered was delicious. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. It’s always special when you feel genuinely appreciated as a customer. Highly recommend if you’re looking for amazing Persian food and a warm, friendly atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back!
I was really in the mood for Persian food since I hadn’t had it in a while but I was having issues ordering for delivery so I called the restaurant directly and the man was very patient and understanding and was able to fix the issue. As a result, I finally got my Persian food and it was very good! Next time I’m in the area, I would love to try more dishes from this place

Friendly staff. I had the lunch buffet , it was totally worth the Money . I gave it only 4 stars because the restroom was kinda dirty. The dineing area could be a bit fancier more Pursian flare and they have a lovely garden window but nothing to really admire. Other than that , I would difinatly recommend this place as a fresh healthy choice over a sloppy burger any day.
My daughter and I greatly enjoyed this restaurant for its excellent food, personable owner and nice decor. When we arrived at 6-ish the place was empty so we almost didn't stop. I'm glad we did. We sat in the main dining area, a clean, nicely decorated room and perused the menu. The menu array is surprisingly large with many interesting items. We went with an eggplant appetizer, beef shish and beef dish in a wonderfully fragrant sauce. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The grilled veggies that came with the shish were an especially nice surprise. My daughter and I shared with each other and managed to eat way too much. I would have given 5 stars but it was a tad slow... this may have more to do with the place filling up after we arrived and being unexpectedly short staffed. We overlooked it as the owner was such a pleasure to speak with. We recommend the Upland Kabob Restaurant whole heartedly.
This is a Persian food restaurant. An all-u-can eat type of place. Food is good, no much to choose from, but what they have is really good. I went there for lunch at noon on a Monday, and it was not too crowded. Server was nice and helpfull. Tables were crean, as well as the dining area. Small restrooms but clean. Persian background music at nice volume was a good touch. Very small parking lot. The whole place looks a little old and could use a little bit of maintenance. It's a kind of place run by a family, where they cook, serve and manage the place.

I had no idea what to expect but there was not a single person in there other than my friend and myself so the atmosphere was dead and lifeless. The lady that took my order was very shocked at what I was ordering because I eat really healthy and don’t like my food drenched in oil. Eventually she just disappeared and now we had what I think was the cook or owner, but he was very pushy trying to push his garlic sauce on us and to buy it on Amazon. He kept coming back asking why we didn’t eat all the hummus and insisted that we must take it to go. We didn’t want it but felt like if we didn’t we would offend this man. Then he came back and asked why we didn’t pack the pita bread with our to-go bag with hummus we didn’t even care for. The energy was very pushy and very off. The food was also expensive and definitely not worth the price. The food was bland. I would never ever go back and neither would my friend. Panini Cafe is soooo much cheaper and so much more delicious with such friendly and understanding waiters that aren’t shocked by your order, so I recommend going there instead.
Worst mediterranean food I ever try order a plate with chichen and beef they send me ranchera beef strips wich was not tender at all, oderes the plate with rice and salad and it arrived with salad only and the ranchera beef. They charged $33. I was so dissapointed. This place is not worth it.
Watch out! Read carefully because they charge an automatic tip. Then, if you don't read you end up paying additional tip, not worthy. I had to go to the buffet several times to get a piece of meat, it was lunch time and there was not enough meat for all the people at that time. Food was Ok, but not to pay an additional tip, Please! No refills on drinks.
Food wasn’t worth it. Very expensive I mean super expensive I ate the day before in San Diego better food beautiful restaurant delicious food they charged me $34 for tow people but here I got robbed $79 seriously robbery one peace of baklava $4 lmao
Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! A Saturday lunch-time visit had us walking into an empty house, no buffet and a poor experience. It started well. We were warmly greeted and given our choice of tables. Our order took a while to arrive but was made correctly and actually tasted pretty good. We use an Entertainment Book when dining out as it saves us money and encourages us to try new places (like this one). We placed our coupon on the edge of the table, near where the server stands, PRIOR to placing out order. After the meal is finished the owner stops by and picks up our coupon and starts to complain about The Entertainment Book. He complains about the discount and then claims the coupon doesn't apply to the items we ordered. There is no disclaimer in the menu, on the coupon or on the door. Finally, he brings the bill and not only did he refuse to honor the coupon, he over charged us on the bill as compared to the menu prices! Drinks were inflated, entrees were inflated. After I confronted him on the discrepancy he claimed the menu was old and the bill had the new prices! I made my own calculations, correcting the prices and applying the coupon, before I paid in cash and left the place. Ultimately, the owner is dishonest. I prefer to spend my money at businesses making an honest living. I can see by the empty tables he really needs customers, but when he treats them like he treated us, they will never return.
Misleading advertising, they do not have a buffet and they charge you high for three pieces of small meat
Last week wife and I went to this expensive restaurant for the first time. we ordered kabob and we were very disappointed. Meet was old and dry, and one of our plates the chicken was raw in the center and didn't taste right. above all that, the service was lousy, and that's truly the worst service we ever received from any restaurant. and they add the tip to your ticket automatically. Normally I tip for the good service, so they don't care if they give you good service. I never ever want to go back there, and I will not recommend that place to my enemies.
As soon as I started eating, I found a hair in the lamb shank sauce which I almost ate. They gave different type of dish which was okay ( I wanted to leave due to loss of appetite). The water tasted like plastic. Before everything cleanliness is the most important. Cleanliness is not given attention. Did not feel they were sorry to. 1 star for not caring about customers nor the cleanliness.
This place was horrible! Might I add even rancid. Rude workers and horrible kabob and the hummas was DISGUSTING and EXPENSIVE. To make matters worse I came in with my transgender SON and HE was constantly made fun of and misgendered. Super rude workers and owner and horrible food tasted like absolute garbage I would give - stars If I could!!! GO TO PANINI KABOB!!!
I went to eat there a few weeks ago and the waiter did not follow customized instructions for my food. And worst of all, there was a piece of long hair found in my koobedah beef kabob which was nasty and disgusting. Never eating here again.
As a proud gay man, I’ve had my share of unforgettable nights — but Upland Kabob gave me one I wish I could erase. The food? Dry, bland, and offensively underseasoned. The rice had no flavor, the meat fought back with every bite, and even the hummus seemed like it gave up halfway through life. Somewhere between disappointment and desperation, my husband and I tried to salvage the night in the bathroom. Let’s just say… one thing led to another, and now we’re expecting a kabob baby. Yeah. It was that kind of night. The only thing Upland Kabob served us was trauma with a side of regret. Never again.
I ask the Mgr for one side of koobideh over phone when I arrived he showed me two kabobs and huge rice. I ask him how much was one side of koobideh kabob he wouldn't give me a price. Owner charged 25.00 plus tax for that then I ask for a salad that's supposed come with it he was reluctant. On the menu it states 17.00 for my goods he stated it was a luncheon price and serving. Very deceptive and confusing my transaction. I will not go back to Upland Kabob you just lost a customer and repeat business
