You don't have to go to one of the big cities to get great tasting, reasonably priced American style Chinese food. With a service staff that is always polite and friendly China Wok has been a go-to choice. For years my friends and I have chosen China Wok for birthday dinners. We trust them so much we'll order our favorites (family style) and then say "just surprise us with a couple of extra dishes" and we are never disappointed. You owe it to yourself to try China Wok and find the best restaurant in Vallejo, and definitely the best Chinese food in Vallejo. P.S. I was saddened to see some 4 star reviews that when you read them are really 5's. When you take away one star it becomes a 20% negative review. I don't think that's what they meant to do. Sorry just felt like a little rant. Mine is 100% positive, but if it was 95% it would still be a 5 star in my book.

Best Chinese food in Vallejo. Convenient location with fresh hot food served by wonderful hard working staff. I've never seen it crowded but they do a huge takeout business. Not sure if they deliver but are worth the pick-up if they don't. Give them a try!

Been coming here for years! The only Chinese food restaurant in Vallejo I go to. Customer service is great and order fulfillment is timely. Foodwise, their mongolian beef doesn't compare to other restaurants, and is probably the best I've had. Another favorite of mine is their crab rangoon. But overall, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Literally the most tasteful food you will find in downtown or overall Vallejo. The friendliest of staff make sure you feel welcomed and your children smile with joy for all their attention and kindness. The food is delicious big portions as well. My brother introduced me to this place over 4 years ago and I have wanted to return ever since. It's 3.5 hours from home, so grabbing take-out or dining in isn't possible when the craving arises. Being in the area recently, presented me with the opportunity to fill that craving and I wasn't disappointed. I will say that it wasn't as memorable as the first time, but I chalk that up to many things, including not ordering the same dishes as before and the fact that my taste buds have changed a bit with age. The food was good, but the Mongolian Beef was the star of the show. Worth the stop.

Best Hot and Sour soup, every time I get a cold it cures me! Love the staff, really friendly and professional. Beautiful presentation. It feels like a special occasion every time we go. Be prepared for longer than usual wait times, everything is prepared by a real person, not reheated frozen stuff like so many places. You get what you pay for.

Excellent food! I recently started eating a vegan diet. I called in advance and asked for an order of salt and pepper tofu and some mixed vegetables. When I arrived to pick up my order, the vegetables were cooked to perfection with the best spicy sauce! Reasonably priced and always tastes fresh!

Located in lovely historic downtown, we dine in and take out, absolutely enjoy every meal, they use fresh produce and quality meat, I’m from Berkeley super picky ha! Our favorite vegetable egg fu young absolutely delicious Soufflé texture drenched in an exquisite tasty sauce, tender Mongolian beef, tangy orange chicken, crispy egg rolls and delicious dumpling style pot stickers! New owners, new menu. Service was good, food was decent. We had chicken kung pao, Hunan beef and Mongolian beef. I had brown rice, others had the white. The entrees were tasty. The Mongolian beef was a bit light on the beef. My brown rice was sticky. The only flaw in the service was dropping the check before clearing out plates. Not bad, I won't avoid, but I won't be rushing back.

Nice little gem in Vallejo for some good Chinese food. It's not greasy, no MSG, its fresh, hot and priced right. Me and my family stop by on Sunday after Christmas tree shopping and picked up some shrimp fried rice, orange chicken and fried prawns. The orange chicken was absolutely delicious, the rice was very good and had about 7 big shrimp in it however the deep dried prawns were just okay. They were butterflied and not whole so that's what I didn't like about them otherwise everything was delicious.

No MSG in the food. It's always fresh. A really good value for your money. They have a very reasonably priced lunch menu that includes soup, salad and yummy crunchies. Great service. Comfortable & friendly atmosphere.

China Wok is a wonderful restaurant. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you receive and for the quality. Im a big fan of all of their tofu dishes (especially the Kung Pao Tofu). They have vegan, vegetarian, and meat options so everyone in your group will find something they enjoy. The staff are very kind and helpful. The atmosphere is very welcoming and comfortable. Definitely give this place a try if you’re in the area.

We hadn't been here for many years after a bad experience with a new owner. This was a completely different experience in a familiar place. The food was exceptional! The crispy eggplant was out of this world! Crispy and tasty from first to last bite. The sweet and sour tofu was crunchy on the outside and velvety on the inside with a traditional sauce. If you want a traditional Chinese restaurant experience I for one will now go back to China Wok.

China Wok is a Chinese food staple for my family. The always-fresh and flavorful dishes bring us back over and over! Although they are busy most often, you can expect friendly customer service.

I went here for lunch for the first time, based on the reviews I read. I looked at their menu online so I told the gentleman what I wanted when I got there, the food came with in five minutes. I had ordered the kung pao chicken with a side of steamed rice, however I wish there as more chicken in the dish, and it was a little salty as someone mentioned before, but it was still good size potion and I was satisfied. Lastly, the building is close to the ferry terminal, and is a nice area to walk around if you are planning on catching the ferry after lunch.

This is the first time I was disappointed with a dish from here. This has always been my favorite Chinese restaurant. However, I was did not care for the lemon chicken. It seems that the recipe has changed. Instead of the chicken being cut into pieces,it was cut into strips. That is something I've never seen before.The tempura was a little too crispy and the sauce was on the bland side. I wasn't a fan of the fried rice,it was bland and lacked the usual vegetables that's included in the rice. The fried egg was practically nonexistent. I did appreciate that it was on a bed of cabbage. The soup,salad and fried wontons were delicious. I just won't be getting the lemon chicken again as I feel that I must of had the lazy version of it. The customer service was good as always.

Food here is delicious no doubt but expect to pay higher price than usual and portions are on smaller side. Went there on a Saturday and wasn't busy at all. Close to a sketchy part of Vallejo that consist of low income housing. I would expect more people would go there to eat, but than it is pricier so i guess people avoid it.

This review is only for take out as I never actually ate at the place. The food is great and the staff is very cordial. The reason I am not giving it five stars is because I had to wait much longer for the food each time I ordered over the phone than the promised time.

This place has either changed ownership or hired new cooks ,but whichever is the case, very disappointed. Will probably never waste my time or money here again, which is a shame because they used to be so good. It was actually worth driving from Benicia to Vallejo for, but no longer. Don't waste your time and money. It's time to find a new go-to spot for Chinese food.

Fresh, tasty, authentic food. Family owned. Good service. They do a lot of takeout orders. Nearby parking is usually available in the pay lot. There is some free on-street parking. The pea shoots (similar to the taste of spinach) cooked with garlic was good. We used the leftovers in omelets the next day.

Beautiful Chinese art prints as decor could be great focal pieces in a newly rennovated space. They should try: new paint! Remove paneling! Remove rug and replace with wood flooring or stone. (To owners: Fix the "bump" in the threshold between rooms, it's a liability.)

I hadn't ordered ahead and though there may be a long line, it doesn't mean that you have to wait that long before service. Alot of the Customers had ordered prior to and others were Ubereats drivers. I got a Mandarin family. They have other parts of China dishes. It was okay, but no Seasoning in the soup. (Try with Oyster Sauce for flavor!) We loved the cut of the carrots, however, veggies are cut, more thicker and larger than usual, which altered the flavor, for me, as well. It wasn't so bad, for my first time, but, be careful of the neighborhood.

Went there today for lunch . I have the broccoli beef and that was tasty but the fried rice was really dry and plain and had no flavor .The fried rice is really half your meal . The egg flower soup was really different but really good . The food was hot and came out quick. The place has really changed over the years .Looks pretty old and worn out. For 13 bucks for lunch not sure I'll be back . I've had better food at Panda Express .....

I ordered here for to-go. The food was ok, but I wouldn’t really order from here again. The chicken chow mein was bland. The orange chicken was hard. Their mongolian beef was on the sweeter side and needed more spice to it. I did however like the salt and pepper fish, the crab meat wonton, and the deep fried wonton. Their and portions and prices are great too. Inside is quite small but we didn’t eat here as we ordered for pick up. We picked up our food around lunch time and no one was dining in at the time. There’s street parking outside as well as a lot next door.

I went through quite a few reviews just to confirm prior to ordering. I ordered and was not happy with my meal For whatever reason, the noodles were extremely greasy, and the chicken was so cold I didn’t even have more than a bite due to fearing getting sick. Unfortunately, it’s not for me.

It was decent if your close by in Vallejo, however, when speaking to others waiting for their take out orders, they shared it was the previous ownership that received so much high praise and best of awards...I'm willing to try new places for food, however, I will not be returning.

The food is decent but VERY overpriced. Tab came to over $60 for dinner for two which is absurd for the quality meats that they use. What is even worse is the obnoxious woman who works there! Food used to be good. Lately during the pandemics the take out has been dry. Used to be more moist like the Mongolian Beef or Cashew Chicken. Not sure if they got a new chef but they way over cook things now. At least in my experience the last the times I went there.

The garlic green beans were mushy and had a weird/cheap tasting sweet and sour sauce on it which I wasn't expecting. The Hong Kong style pan fried noodles were dry. The sauce was minimal and already added on top not on the side. This made the noodles drier. Might be better to order this as sit down. The chow fun house combo noodles had zero flavor. If anything it tasted like a burned pan. It felt like zero effort went into making and packing the food.

Ordered this through DoorDash and everything was disgusting. The wrapped chicken that I’m used to from Silver Dragon in Oakland or SF (although closed now) was absolutely flavorless and unappetizing. Here’s something to help, I first called to ask about Gluten-free items and the guy couldn’t pronounce Gluten-free which I was like whaaaaat? Done with this dump.

This was Our first time here. We ordered like always to start a wonton soup, and about four other plates, they brought out the soup and the rest of the plate right away which was overwhelming because the table are small and we didn’t get to fully enjoy the soup at the rest of the main meal was getting cold. The food taste was great and the reason of my low rating is due to me finding a long hair in one of our dishes ( honey walnut shrimp) when I mentioned it to the younger short lady she brought out what it appeared to be the head chef’s whom was very nice. I personally couldn’t eat anymore as the hair touch my mouth so I asked for the plate of 75% food left was still there. The short lady decided to not only pick the hair off the plate, placed it on the table and said ( it’s yours it’s from your beard ) I then plucked a few hairs from my beard to show that my hair were not only thick and black . She insisted that it was mine! The main chef kept speaking to her in mandarin to calm herself down! I had to walked out and as great patrons we still paid the $64 dollar bill minus the hair dish. When my family came out my smart four year old said that the short lady pointed at them and said a word in mandarin perhaps suggesting to GET OUT! My son doesn’t know lies or make up things of that sort! I will definitely will forever stay away from this place and it’s too bad because we did like it but her attitude towards their own mistake is unforgivable and her last act of pointing to get out to my family is unacceptable!

The food today wasn’t so good. We had order of shrimp chow mein - barely any shrimp maybe 5/6, and it had no flavor. Sweet and sour pork was mostly batter and meat in it small. Fried rice was dry, really separated and hard like quality wasn’t good. It didn’t look or taste like fried rice. Mongolian beef isn’t so good either. I expected it to be better because of the ratings but not sure what happen today.

What a disappointment ! This place use to be good but it’s really in a sorry sad state now. We ordered Cashew Chicken with extra cashews. Which is supposed to have the chicken cooked first, then the vegetables, then the sauce thrown in, and lastly the nut’s added. Ours was severed all cooked together in a brown glob. The extra cashews ( only a tablespoon) were served on a separate small saucer. We also ordered sizzling rice soup. It was served with the rice already in the bowl that was mainly broth. Everywhere else it’s served with the waiter sliding the rice onto the broth, so you can hear the rice sizzle as it hits the broth. Not here, it was just a large bowl of broth with some rice already floating around. I could go on about each dish we ate there but needless to say we’ll never go back. It was cheap, very little meat in each dish, small portions, greasy noodles, fried rice was rice dyed with soy sauce and really no ingredients to distinguish it as as fried rice. Don’t waste your money here.

Initially called the restaurant to place an order. The staff was very impatient to even listen and cut me off saying that they didn’t understand. I somehow managed to place a Grubhub order and got some orange chicken and pulled pork with steamed rice. The chicken was dry and stringy and the pork was average. I ordered dried fried ribs/salt peppered ribs and fried prawns. What I got was a carton full of burned old meat that was cooked in old burned oil. I don't believe it was pork. The prawns were small pre- battered shrimp from an economy box. When I attempted to return the food untouched. The proprietor showed me a sign that said no refund!!!! So they can sell me this crap and I'm supposed to accept it? No!!!!

Dined in with my mom and my partner. There was a hair in the water and the food was cold. The sweet and sour chicken and the sweet and sour pork both tasted like old burnt oil. The chilis in the general tso chicken were hard and old. The “fried rice” was steamed rice with soy sauce. I told the server I didn’t want my food and he said no returns. The meal cost $64 and none of us ate. Two of us feel genuinely sick from just a few bites. You could not pay me to return to this establishment. They’ve fallen off and are no longer worth visiting.

The food here is was mediocre , but i've witness one of the workers sneezing over someones food , it was so disgusting that snot came out of the workers nose and landed on to the ground , the lady apologized to the elderly lady stating that she is not sick !!! What should have been a simple act of care turned into a horrifying experience that has left me both appalled and determined to seek justice. Upon serving the soup to my child, we discovered, after a single bite, the unmistakable presence of legs and a shell within the food. After careful examination, it was clear that the foreign object was a cockroach. This discovery was not only revolting but also a direct violation of basic health and safety standards. I am utterly devastated that my sick child, already vulnerable, was exposed to such unsanitary conditions through your food. For clarity, the meal was delivered directly to my home by an Uber Eats driver. I maintain a clean household, free of any pest issues, and have never encountered cockroaches in my home. The undeniable fact is that this contamination originated from your establishment, and I find it wholly unacceptable that such a grievous oversight could occur. Theirs got to be something up with the other reviews for them to describe this place as the "best" Chinese food they have ever had. Honestly panda express is way better than this place. Food was bland and tasteless and close to no flavor. Sorry but look for another place if you want to have Chinese food.
