Caffè Florian, opened on December 29, 1720, is the oldest coffee house in Italy, located in St. Mark's Square in Venice. Staffs were friendly & accommodating, service is fast too. We were seated inside & it feels nostalgic to be inside a 305 years old cafe. We had affogato & hot chocolate & it's the best despite the price still worth a visit. We had tuna sandwich as well & its good.

A must when you go to Venice! It is a 7 euro cover charge per person for the music. But worth it for the vibes at least just one time ahha the Apple tart was the best pastry I’ve ever tried! And I just got some tea to go along with it. The music was nice and the cafe was beautiful. It was like 65 euros for 2 teas and a pastry so make sure you come knowing that this will be the most expensive cup of coffee or tea you’ll ever have. Haha

Such a delightful place that looks really grand! Delicious food and sweet treats! The cappuccino was incredible! Highly recommend despite the hefty bill. ("When in Venice"... right?)

We are coffee people- we own 2 coffee shops and a roastery in the U.S. you may think this is a touristy thing to do, and it is. But it’s worth it. You’ve got to sit inside and appreciate the history, elegance and attention to detail. It’s pricey, yes but again worth it especially if you appreciate the above things. There are very few (if any) still operating coffee shops that are 305 years old. Go and appreciate this place!!

Fare colazione in un bar del genere ,avvolti da un'atmosfera classica ed elegante non capita tutti i giorni. L'ambiente è curato nei minimi particolari. Il cornetto alle mandorle è stato molto buono!! Da provare almeno una volta nella vita!

Il Caffè Florian è uno dei caffè storici più celebri di Venezia, affacciato su Piazza San Marco e attivo dal 1720. Gli interni sono eleganti e riccamente decorati, con sale che conservano un’atmosfera d’altri tempi. I prezzi sono molto alti, soprattutto se ci si siede all’esterno con musica dal vivo, ma fanno parte dell’esperienza. L’accesso è libero e non serve prenotare, anche se può esserci attesa nei momenti di punta. Più che per il caffè in sé, vale la visita per il contesto, la storia e l’atmosfera unica. Un’icona veneziana, da vivere consapevolmente.

Abbiamo fatto il brunch della domenica in questo splendido locale storico veneziano. Non era affollato, il personale è gentile e cortese. L'accompagnamento musicale dal vivo all'esterno del locale crea l'atmosfera di spensieratezza,è molto gradito. Grazie e alla prossima!

È il caffè più antico di Venezia e non manca di dettaglio e carattere. Il servizio è impeccabile, assolutamente adeguato al luogo, dedicato, elegante e professionale. È un gioiello storico che merita una visita obbligatoria. Fu fondato da Floriano Francesconi e fu qui dove fu venduto per la prima volta il caffè in la città lagunare. Va bene per un caffè e un dolcetto se non vuoi esagerare con il prezzo, ma ehi, è un posto dove vale la pena andare almeno una volta nella vita. Un'esperienza.

Luogo incantevole, atmosfera da sogno. Attento e gentile il servizio, autentica simpatia veneziana, scenografia quasi dipinta, discreto il sottofondo orchestrale. Meno altisonante l'aperitivo, anzi piuttosto scarno per il prezzo pagato.

Un bar in cui si respirano più di 300 anni di storia, che lo rendono affascinante. Personale professionale e attento. Caro se quello che cerchi è bere un caffè. Qui si va per l’ambiente e la esperienza. Bello

Nice historic caffè to visit. It's extensive because you are paying for the experience. The service was nice. The dessert wasn't overly sweet so that was a nice change from typical ones.

THE OLDEST COFFEEHOUSE IN ITALY! Being able to experience dining at Caffè Florian was great albeit the high price tag. Nonetheless, you pay for the history and its location being in St. Mark’s Square, Venice. Live musical performance upped the ambiance and made it really special. Service can be busy, understandable as there are a lot of visitors trying to get seating and orders made.

Nice Coffee, But Expensive The cappuccino was really good—smooth, rich, and served with a small chocolate truffle with a whole coffee bean, which was a nice touch. The place has a lot of history, and you can feel it in the atmosphere. That said, 12 euros for a cup of coffee feels a bit much. You're definitely paying for the experience and the location. It's a nice treat if you're in the area, but not something I'd make a regular stop for because of the price.

Came here to experience one of the oldest coffeehouses in the world, operating since 1720. We sat inside, where there’s a cover charge of €7 per person. There’s a live orchestra playing outside, and although we could hear a little of the music from our seats inside, we couldn’t really see them perform. The drinks are on the steeper side — I ordered an €16 cold coffee cream (Frozen Florian) and was surprised to see it was about the size of my palm. Nevertheless, it’s worth visiting this café at least once in your life for the experience, though I probably wouldn’t come back a second time.

Nice cafe with a lot of history. It’s had a lot of famous guests through its doors and has been in continuous operation since 1720’s. Our experience was a pleasant one, we decided to sit outside due to the good weather conditions and the live music that was playing and managed to get a view of St.Marks Square from our table. Thing to note is that you do have to pay a charge for siting outside while the music is playing of €7 per person. I feel this is a little steep as a small family that is seeking to attend could end up paying nearly €30 before they have even ordered anything. We ordered two cocktails at €24 and €25 each along with a cappuccino which cost €12 and the waiter brought complimentary crisps and water for the table. This added with the €14 music charge resulted in a total of €75. A little expensive for what we had but with the atmosphere and location the cost of the drinks can be expected. We were served quickly and after our order was taken it arrived about 10 minutes later. When we arrived there were only about 2-3 tables available so it was somewhat crowded. We ventured inside to where the small rooms were located to have a look around and view the little shop which sold snacks and merchandise. The decor of the interior is very impressive and has managed to keep its charm from its beginnings it seems. If you’re after a couple of drinks while in the Square I would recommend however if you’re not directly in the area there are other places that will offer a similar experience at half the price.

Lovely location. Excellent music. Great service. The drinks were also excellent. We were accidently billed twice on our credit card but when we returned with the receipt and were able to show them the duplicate charge on our credit card transactions they were extremely good about issuing a refund. It is pricey, but it is a great experience. Expect a cover charge and an entertainment charge on top of the food and drink cost.

While the food was perfectly adequate: nothing special, nothing horrible, the price tag was astronomical. I understand this cafe has been operating for around 200 or so years and the walls and ceiling were beautiful, I didn’t experience anything that was overly impressive. The table next to us, in their designer clothes, without a doubt revived better service than us in our sneakers and puffer jackets. €44 for 2 sundae’s. Wouldn’t return, wouldn’t recommend.

Very picturesque place with lots of history. As expected from all the reviews, the menu items were 2-3x more expensive than other cafes. We wanted to order a babyccino for my son which was not on the menu. We were shocked they charged €7 for a cup of hot milk but I should’ve expected that from a place that’s so overpriced.

I visited this restaurant twice during my stay in Venice. Unfortunately, the service from the outdoor waitstaff was disappointing. While I understand cultural differences may play a role, the attitude felt unnecessarily dismissive. I would encourage the management to ensure that their staff feel supported and motivated, as their interactions with guests directly shape visitors’ impressions of Italy. A little more warmth and courtesy would make a world of difference.

Yes the atmosphere is nice, yes the location is good and music amazing. But I still think that the prices are too high for that. Also it would be good to say in advance that during summer they have other kind of tiramisu and not the classic one. Generally it was good, but not worth 42€ for one drink and dessert. You can just sit nearby and still listen the same music for free.

Siamo stato al Florian in 3 persone. Abbiamo preso 2 caffè e un dolce. Quando entro in un certo tipo di locale mi aspetto che sia tutto perfetto e invece così non è stato. Il semifreddo è arrivato congelato, immaginabile se non dopo 10 minuti e averlo aperto in quattro. Il caffè buono nulla da dire. Al bagno era presente una signora delle pulizie che è stata veramente poco discreta e fatto notare immediatamente alla direzione. Attenzione se è presente musica dal vivo vi verrà richiesto il pagamento del servizio, ma fuori dal locale non ho trovato informazioni in merito. Purtroppo non lo consiglio forse a Venezia ci sono locali migliori

34 euro un caffe e un the, supplemento musica applicato senza preavviso e la musica è iniziata solo poco prima che lasciassimo il locale. Caffè normalissimo, nessuna possibilità di scelta della varietà. Il the non è stato accompagnato neanche da un biscottino. Servizio da mensa. Locale bellissimo ma è una truffa legalizzata, una vergogna.

Ho visitato questo caffè due volte nel 2023 e posso dire con sicurezza che questo luogo è un insulto alla città di Venezia. Il personale è estremamente maleducato e incivile. La qualità del cibo è scadente e i prezzi sono esorbitanti. I bicchieri che ci hanno portato erano molto sporchi e quando lo abbiamo fatto notare siamo stati insultati dal cameriere. Le condizioni igieniche di questo caffè sono inaccettabili con polvere e cibo in via di decomposizione ovunque sul pavimento e macchie sulle sedie. I bagni erano ricoperti di feci e urina su muri e pavimenti. La circolazione dell’aria all’interno del locale è pessima e infatti entrambe le volte che ho visitato c’era una puzza insostenibile. Sconsiglio vivamente anche solo di pensare di venire. Meritano sul serio di chiudere per fallimento

Europe is full of century-old cafés, they’re honestly everywhere. Compared to many others, this one really didn’t stand out. The space is small, the prices are high, and the service is nothing special. The food was served cold and tasted rather underwhelming, while the coffee was just… average. If you’re looking to experience a truly memorable historic café, I’d honestly suggest saving that experience for places like Prague or Warsaw, where the atmosphere, quality, and value for money are far more rewarding.

The only thing that was decent was the hot chocolate, but nothing special either. Waiting for service took an unreasonably long time, even though we were almost the only guests. We were about to leave before anyone came. The interior is, yes, beautiful — but only because it’s old; it clearly needs a thorough cleaning and restoration. Service was absolutely unacceptable. We understand it’s the oldest café in Venice, located on St. Mark’s Square, but the prices are completely out of proportion to the quality offered.
