Sono rimasto piacevolmente sorpreso da questo locale nascosto dal passaggio del turista di massa. Il servizio è perfetto, i piatti curati e la materia prima eccellente. Il menu proposto varia rispetto alle solite proposte. Il locale è tradizionale con musica jazz di sottofondo. Vini ottimi.

Ristorante buonissimo e super accogliente! Eravamo titubanti essendo in pieno centro ma siamo rimasti sorpresi dalla gentilezza e dal menu che riportava sia piatti tipici che proposte sorprendenti! Prezzi nella media della zona ma ne vale veramente la pena. Davvero ottimo

Un’esperienza veneziana autentica e indimenticabile! Siamo stati da Ai Assassini ieri sera e non potremmo essere più soddisfatti. Appena arrivati, siamo stati accolti con una gentilezza e una cordialità davvero rare: lo staff ci ha fatti sentire come ospiti abituali, anche se era la nostra prima volta. Su loro consiglio ho assaggiato le moeche, che non avevo mai mangiato prima: una scoperta straordinaria! Croccanti, delicate e cucinate alla perfezione, accompagnate da piatti altrettanto eccellenti. Tutto era curato nei dettagli — dalle materie prime freschissime alla presentazione dei piatti, fino al ritmo del servizio, sempre attento ma mai invadente. L’atmosfera è calda, autentica, veneziana nel senso più bello del termine: un luogo dove si respira la passione per la cucina e per l’ospitalità. Consiglio Ai Assassini a chiunque voglia vivere un’esperienza di vera cucina veneziana, fatta di sapori genuini e di persone che amano il proprio lavoro. Non vediamo l’ora di tornare!

We had an excellent family meal here. I saw that this restaurant was near our accommodation, and read on their website that you need to make a reservation over the phone. When I called, they were very friendly and helpful, and spoke excellent English, arranging a table for 730pm. The menu was small and concise, but a reflection that each dish is precise and well considered. The ‘sarde in saor’ was divine, as was my partners fish carpaccio and my son’s octopus. We shared a pasta ‘dish of the day’ purely out of curiosity, and it was heavenly. Our main dishes were all excellent. As others have mentioned, the welcome and service is very warm and friendly, something not so easily found in Venice. The staff do leave you alone once mains have been served, but I interpreted this as allowing you time to enjoy your drinks and evening, wish no sense of hurry leave. The ambience was lovely, and this was by far the best meal I have had in 20 years of visiting Venice. I would give it 6 stars if I could. Dishes aren’t huge, but they are of superb quality and are memorable in a city filled with forgettable and overpriced restaurants.

Highly recommend. It's expensive but if you can squeeze in one fine dining meal, this would be it in Venice. Make reservations just incase if you're visiting during peak season. My husband and I dined here twice without reservations (in late November) but got lucky I suppose. Friday Lunch: We visited for lunch around 12:15 PM and was kindly greeted outdoors. We were the 1st table. About 20 minutes later, many people started trickling in. Our dish highlight was the pesce lasagna (a special they had that day not on menu). We are still dreaming about this today. Saturday Dinner: We stopped by about 2hr before closing time, and were initially turned away because the restaurant was completely full. Then the same older gentleman that we saw on Friday said he can seat us if we came back around 9PM. (He's got his table timing down to the T!). We were willing to wait. We tried different dishes and deserts, and enjoyed them all. The service was a bit slower this evening due to a couple of larger parties seated, but we were not forgotten. My husband and I have very much enjoyed our meals, their service, and our time here. Thank you Osteria Ai Assassini!

A solid 4.5 stars. The service was overall lovely (and the waiter spoke many languages!), just as the atmosphere. We received a small amouse bouche that was delicious. The pumpkin flan was perfection. All the meals were very good. Just be prepared to pay a lot, it‘s expensive. We’ve got 2 critic points: 1) the tuna could use a little more salt. 2) after eating we almost disappeared for the service crew.

Service is friendly and professional. The atmosphere: they play jazz records on a turntable and they have a good sound system. This is my favorite restaurant in Venice.

I booked this restaurant at the last minute and I was so glad that I did! We dined for lunch and the server was very lovely and passionate about the food describing what made the dish or drink special. We had lamb chops and they were the most wonderful I have ever tasted! I also adore the Bellinis. They were authentic and delicious. Best Bellini I had in Venice. The tiramisu was delicious as well, my partner said he loved their tiramisu the best out of all the places we tried. We loved it so much we went back the next day for lunch again. This is truly a hidden gem in Venice on a street that many people probably overlook. Definitely try out this charming restaurant if you like authentic good food. You won’t be disappointed. :)

We had dinner at Osteria Ai Assassini which was recommended by an Italian acquaintance. We were attended by Maurice. We did not make any reservations but the serving staff was able to offer us an outdoor dining which was really nice. The food we ordered were really good. The ravioli stuffed with sea bass and asparagus were exquisite. Their raspberry tart were also truly divine. The service rendered by Maurice were really warm and friendly. We had a truly great dining experience. Recommended.

The staff were really great. We didn't book a reservation but they gave us a table for an hour and a half until the next booking was due. The table seemed to me to be the best seat in the house so we were happy. The rabbit Ragu was beautiful and quite rich. I would highly recommend it. The staff were very polite and attentive and funny. This has been our favourite restaurant in Venice so far. Definitely book in advance if you are planning to go.

How do I give the accolades this place deserves without running the chance of this place being overcome with tourists. Amazingly delicious food with impeccable service. Such a beautiful, unassuming place with so much to offer. A true hidden gem. Needing a break from the family, I stumbled into this place by myself and ate the delicious octopus appetizer, plus pillow like gnocchi (who knew it can be this soft!) and didn’t think I had room for dessert but omg, the best! I guess this is what real homemade tiramisu tastes like. Plus two glasses of recommended wine and I just wanted to die happy. I couldn’t be happier with this meal.

An absolutely incredible experience, start to finish. The service was so personal and warm, even being the only person in the restaurant for an early dinner. The octopus was expertly seasoned and cooked. The squid gnocchi was a combination of flavors completely new to me, and so delicious. Finishing with the tiramisu as the perfect ending. Hands down the best food I had in Venice and kindest staff.

Could not fault this place at all - and probably the best pasta we’ve had so far in Italy. You can come here to have a romantic dinner, by yourself or with the family. The person serving us (I don’t know if it was the manager) was passionate and very friendly, you can clearly see he loves his food and restaurant. 10/10 the best restaurant we have been to on our Italian adventure. Everything is homemade and you can tell! I got the tagliatelle pasta with duck ragout, and my husband got the gnocchi with cuttlefish and we loved it all. They also bring out little treats beforehand that were both delicious, along with their super soft bread. Ended with the tiramisu to share and wow…and not only was the food amazing, but the service was phenomenal. So kind and welcoming. I will be recommending this place to everyone I talk to that comes to Venice. You won’t be disappointed!

Personale davvero piacevole, cibo buono, ben presentato, forse un po' caro, specialmente la lista dei vini. L'ambiente è piacevole e intimo. Buoni gli antipasti alla piovra, il fritto misto di pesci di laguna deve piacere, perché sono quasi tutte triglie e pesciolini di laguna, niente calamari o gamberi. Non mi è piaciuta solo la cheesecake, anche se fatta con prodotti buoni, gli elementi sono slegati tra loro ed è meno dolce di quello che uno si aspetta. In quattro abbiamo speso 55 euro a testa con mezzo antipasto, un primo e mezzo dolce, acqua e un vino da trenta euro.

Forse troppo decantato dalla nostra guida locale, forse molte recensioni, ma mi aspettavo molto di più. Locale carino, personale attento e discreto, cibo con buona presentazione, ma nulla di particolare come gusto. Una cosa molto positiva... Non super turistico, prezzo medio alto.

Antipasti a 30€ me li aspetto in un ristorante che offre un diverso tipo di esperienza. The tagliatelle with duck ragu was entirely forgettable. The bread served was the worst I ever had in Italy, dry and tasteless. Service was just passable, we had many better experiences in Venice.

Underwhelming. Lamb had no meat on the bones. Softshell pasta had shells in every bite. overpriced and not worth it. Wine was fine. Would not recommend.

L' Osteria Ai Assassini non è più l' osteria di una volta... Adesso si atteggiano un po' a gourmet, con piatti un po' più ricercati ma costosissimi... Cibo buono ma atmosfera perduta... Conto astronomico... Bisogna cercare altro...

La prima volta ho preso: baccalà mantecato, spaghetti con burro e acciughe, caffè. Tutto buonissimo. €45 La volta successiva: • sarde in saor, senza saor….se non una eccessiva nota zuccherina, • pescato del giorno-tonno ( senza gusto anche lui , servito quasi freddo), • crème brûlé eccellente, • caffè Sono uscita decisamente insoddisfatta e ho speso € 68 Bell’ambiente, personale professionale e gentile, servizio attento.

Mi spiace ma non ci siamo!! Si atteggiano a ristorante stellato e ti fanno pagare 6 euro per un coperto mangiando su un tavolo di legno senza neanche la tovaglia. I piatti erano assaggi. Se vuoi sfamarti esci con portafoglio vuoto e gli stessi piatti li mangio anche a casa! Mi spiace ma a Venezia puoi trovare di meglio! Non lo consiglio.

This place had our hopes high given the previous reviews and ambiance. However, upon arriving the older man who seated us and became our server was nothing but rude. The experience felt rushed. When asking about the wine list, I was told white or red or rose even though that was clear from the menu. When asking for more details of local wines, no information was given. And once I picked a glass of wine, I sat with an empty glass the remainder of the meal when I would’ve happily ordered another. We felt ultimately ignored and unwelcome. As far as the food, the goat cheese ravioli with sage and leek and Panna cotta were both redeeming of the service though the prawn ceviche and squid ink gnocchi fell a bit short. I’d go elsewhere in Venice or at least hope your server is different. Too bad.
