This restaurant was in the same street as our accommodation and was therefore really handy. It is a welcoming place that is clearly a family business. The food was amazing and we ate here loads. I forgot to take pictures of each meal. It was a firm favourite and I’d definitely recommend it based on food, service and price 🤩
Absolutely delicious, I went twice when I was staying in Rome and will definitely come back when I'm in Rome. I love mozzarella and fresh produce and they had an abundance of both. The pita bread was recommended to me by the lovely waiter and it was delicious. They also had a delightful smoked mozzarella, it's a must try. I was unable to order a strawberry salad because they were out of strawberries and they offered to substitute it with raspberries and it was perfect, a wonderful substitution. The owner and both waiters were very sweet and it was quieter when I had my reservation, so I could really enjoy my dinner. A very lovely space.
Excellent restaurant, great service, beautiful interior, great location, we enjoyed everything very much and ate the best burrata of our lives! Prices are reasonable considering the location and professional service. Thank you very much for the great conversation with the waitress from Messina, it was very nice and we felt like at home!
Had a great Friday lunch here, trying a few different options. I ordered more than I needed for one person and was glad that I did to get a good variety. I was excited to see and try the quinoa salad, which was so great after many days of pasta. The servers are great and very helpful in selecting the right combination of dishes. Everything was perfect!
The food was overall good, but the tomatoes on my pizza were very acidic. I've never experienced that before. They smelled and tasted like acetone. For the price, I was a bit disappointed. My friends liked their pasta and burrata degustation though. I also liked the atmosphere and decor. We ate on the terrasse which was quite nice. The staff was also very nice and welcoming.
A good experience overall with service, atmosphere, presentation and taste. The service was good with the waiter speaking both Italian and some English. He was attentive to the tables, but not overbearing. The atmosphere was nice. The addition of some greenery to block out the surrounding street was a good touch. The presentation of the food was good with use of both wood and ceramic plates. Presenting the cheese as a large ball was also a good idea. We got the smoked mozzarella with olives and fresh tomato. We ate that on focaccia. We also sampled their sausage spread (like chorizo) and fresh bruschetta. We paired the smoked mozzarella with a light smoky Sicilian white wine. All good choices. This location is popular with tourists as well so we were able to start a conversation with some others.
We went to other one in Castel Romanoans were very happy about that, so we decided to try another place in center. The food was still great but the manager (or owner?) of the place who was serving us was acting weird, speaking too much with us. She gave us strange vibe. At the end we were asked to pay 20 euros more than in the bill. We checked it immideatly and found a mistake and were given the money difference back. Might be a mistake, of course. But I will never forget back.
The service here was honestly awful. We don’t usually expect too much because it is Europe and the service isn’t as good as in the U.S. where they are used to tips, but this was next level. We were initially sat outside and given the menus, but no one came to take our order. After about 20 minutes we got impatient (and hungry), so we went inside and asked for indoor seating instead thinking they’ll be less likely to forget we existed if we were within their vision. As they sat us down at our second table I told the waitress we were ready to order, but she just left. After another 25 minutes of the waitress avoiding my eyes and ignoring me calling her over to order she finally took our order and after 15 more we got our food. The food was fine, but nothing truly special.
If professionalism, hospitality and basic common sense were part of the menu, this place would be out of stock. We came as a couple to a completely empty venue — every table was available. Because it was December and cold, we chose a 4-seat table located next to a heater. Instead of showing even minimal flexibility, we were told to move because “the table is for two”, and our explanation about the cold was simply dismissed. A remarkable example of rules being followed without thought. After that, we were left waiting — twice. First, an unnecessary delay before being properly settled, and then an even longer wait before anyone came to take our order. All of this while the restaurant remained nearly empty. The physical setup is another issue. The tables are absurdly small, making it uncomfortable to eat, and they are placed so close together that personal space does not exist. At one point, a waiter serving the neighboring table ended up sitting on our table with his body — yes, literally placing himself on our table. From a hygiene and professionalism standpoint, this is beyond unacceptable. The salad itself was noticeably bitter, suggesting poor ingredient quality or a complete lack of attention in the kitchen. In summary: rigid and unfriendly service, long waits despite no crowd, uncomfortable seating, questionable hygiene, and food quality that does not justify the experience. I would give this place zero stars if that were possible. One star is given solely because the pizza was edible
