The Original Steve's Diner is a popular breakfast spot known for large portions and friendly service. Customers rave about the pancakes (especially blueberry), omelets, and breakfast specials. Some find the prices for sides, like bacon, to be high. Expect a wait during peak hours.

A HUGE menu of tastes- hardest art is selecting one thing! The pancakes are enormous and then they offer crazy fillings if you want dessert for breakfast! We always have a great breakfast and never make it to the lunch menu!
I stopped in for the first time for a late breakfast last week. Sat up at the bar and was greeted immediately and the vibe was very welcoming and comforting. Service was exceptional, as I was approached basically when I needed help and a couple extra times. Food came out pretty quick considering how busy it was. I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger Omelette and it was delicious. It was bigger than I thought it was going to be. Great food, great service, and great vibe (it does feel like a diner).
My wife and I have had breakfast here a few times now and we LOVE it! The food is delicious, with enough portions for you to be full (and possibly have leftovers). Their Ham and Cheese omelet is one of the best I’ve ever had. The pancakes, or love cakes as they are referred to here, are bigger than the plate. They are light and fluffy and taste like heaven. The menu has so many options to pick from that everyone should find something they enjoy. The food is not greasy like your typical diner. This place is truly a wonderful place to grab some food.
Traveling and found this place on a Sunday morning. Didn’t have to wait to be seated around 8:45a. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. Food came out quickly and very good.
Awesome spot! Food is great and you get a lot of it (the pancakes could feed you for 3 days 😂). The place was packed so you know they’re doing something right. Lynda was very friendly and attentive to our tables needs. We would definitely come back if we’re ever in the area again!
We were doing a random restaurant search on google maps and Steve’s popped up. With a need for a vegan option and a love for breakfast food, it fit our criteria. 🥞 First let me tell you the staff was really friendly with a fantastic sense of humor. The menu is huge with a large selection of choices. 🧇 Our meals came out quickly and had generous portions. Finding the place and pleasing our taste buds, guaranteed many future visits.💯% My choice- Love Cakes with mini M&M’s Son’s Favorite- The Max Plate Three eggs, your choice of four bacon, three sausage patties, three links or ham steak and choice of two large pancakes, three French toast Give this place a try, it’s delicious!
Our first breakfast and won't be our last one. The food was delicious and service was great also. My one pancake was huge, have enough for our supper..

A great place for breakfast! Only order 1 pancake, not a stack. You won't be able to eat more than one!
We were hesitant due to reviews but we gave this diner a try. It was packed when we arrived but we received a table right away. I had the Country Breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. One of the best breakfasts I have enjoyed. Sausage patties were thicker than most, sausage gravy and biscuits were fantastic. My daughter and husband enjoyed huge pancakes and they liked the blueberry! Clean restaurant and kind staff. Thank you!
I took my daughter here for her birthday because she loves the Chocolate Chip Love Cakes. Everyone was so sweet and the owner, John, made sure to make her birthday extra special with a free love cake. Very family friendly!
We make our weekly trip with our 2 very young granddaughters. Elizabeth and John plus all the waitresses interact with them looking forward to seeing them. A great place to visit with a large selection to pick from on the menu.
Went for breakfast last Friday with some of my colleagues and had great food with great service from our server Alex. The menu has just about anything to offer that may fit your needs and accommodates very well too allergies and diet restrictions with many celiacs and vegan options available. I would recommend this spot for anyone looking for a delicious meal.
Food was great! Decor in building was adorable, and everyone was very friendly and worked very hard to make sure everyone got sat in reasonable amounts of time. Elizabeth and John run a great establishment, will definitely be back!

Great diner! Good food, large portions, clean and comfortable dining space, and very friendly staff. I tried the breakfast special, which is a great deal. For $14 I got 2 eggs, 3 sausages, and a GIANT pancake. Everything was delicious. I was very happy with the food. I highly recommend trying out the pancakes. Also, I am a fan of fresh squeezed orange juice. Be warned it has pulp, but it was so tasty. Unfortunately it was $6 for a small glass, so I probably won’t get it again. And the home fries were more like fried mash potatoes. Tasty, but not what I was expecting. I look forward to bringing more family and friends here for breakfast!

Take A Loan Out for Bacon~ Just me, myself, & I & almost fainted b/c my side of bacon crispy cost $6.99. SMH. I love this diner & the food & just guess next time I better pay attention to the prices for sides. My blueberry pancake was amazing & my waiter Alex was amazingly amazing ~ I appreciate Elizabeth the owner listening when I called. Prices set by franchise. Lesson learned.

We have been here 3 times and everything had always been fantastic, but today when we came in we had a different server, who never checked up on us. Unless my husband needed attention. Never checked how our food was, totally screwed up my food. Dropped the the check off as soon as my food was fixed when getting the bill it was her fault. Completely disappointed in the lack of customer service and only left a 15% tip when we usually leave 50% tip

My experience here was a bit traumatic but more on that later. When we arrived there was a sign that said please wait to be seated. I didn't realize there was a check in station behind me where people were cashing out until a teen told me. It was packed which I can only imagine is due to the breakfasts but we were there for lunch. After about a 10-15 minute wait we were seated. Not bad. Our server was pleasant but a bit aloof regarding many things. She struggled using her machine to put orders in and on the last order in my party of 3 took out her note pad. My son ordered a burger with a side of poutine. She argued poutine isn't a side. He pointed to poutine listed under sides and I explained he wanted the burger and an order of poutine. She sort of rolled her eyes at me. Our food comes out and the reason I wanted to try here as they were on Rochester's top 25 places to eat. I was immediately deflated at the blah presentation of the food and knew it was going to taste as it looked. Unfortunately on my first bite of the buffalo blue b
Came here excited for gluten free options. I had a gluten free waffle with the "apple butter cinnamon" toppings. The waitress explained that the cinnamon was usually in the batter so I just asked her to sprinkle some on top instead. Well there was apple (about a quarter of a sliced apple), butter (just regular butter), and cinnamon. The drizzle was hardly visible. It was horribly flavorless even after trying to drown it in maple syrup and spreading butter all over it. I was very disappointed. Also $6.99 for 4 pieces of bacon, are you kidding me? Way over priced for something you don't enjoy eating. As a celiac I felt safe but will not return for a meal due to cost and lack of flavor.

Ive waited about three weeks to address this.... but cant get it out of my head and get upset whenever i think about it. So here goes... (NEW) PARENTS BEWARE! The food and service is phenomenal, and I do genuinely mean that as someone who gets glutened regularly at other places, Steve's has never done that to me in 8 months as a customer.... but should you find yourself needing to change a diaper while there, your options will be to do so on the table you're eating at -or- on a dirty public bathroom floor. For a place that is packed wall to wall all day long on Saturday and Sunday, many of the tables families with children under 2- I was appalled when, while waiting for a table, I needed to make the choice to change my son on a dirty public toilet floor or go to my car in the pouring rain....we haven't been back since and if im honest I don't intend to. It was beyond upsetting to, even with a changing Matt, to have to change my son on a cold Dirty floor, while he sobbed from the cold. Being a parent in public is hard enough and in chain stores, but i genuinely expected more from a local -family- restaurant. I've never had a bad service experience experience at Steve's and don't want to pretend that was the issue. They are great- but to not have a changing table, even just in the ladies room, that mind you is large enough to accommodate multiple standing tables and doesn't even have one hanging on the wall....in a place that's wall to wall families with kids? Feels so apathetic to your customer base.
I came in here from Tampa While on vacation, I ordered a $21 steak and eggs. The steak was good. The eggs were ice cold. The muffin was dry and cold. They charged me charge me $3.53 for a cup of decaf coffee. I ordered the potatoes well done the can soggy. They came back to me again soggy I could've drank the straw. That's how soggy they were. The server felt bad when it was all said and done. It cost me $29 for breakfast in the server. felt bad. I gave her a good tip. I will never go back here again. I would recommend nobody else comes back here again Unless they want to get robbed and have a terrible meal

RUDE OWNERS! We arrived and were told a 10 minute wait for a booth. After waiting a while, we noticed a few booths just sitting empty the entire time we were waiting. My husband (who used to be a drill sargeant for years in the army, is hard of hearing, and has a loud voice) went to the desk to ask the woman owner if we could sit at one of those booths, but he was told they were waiting on two parties to arrive who had reserved them. Ok, no problem. Then the male owner came over to us and proceeded to tell my husband not to “yell” and that his wife said my husband yelled at her. We were incredulous! My husband did not yell at her. He simply asked her if the booths were available. Needless to say, we left and will never be back to support that business EVER AGAIN.
Went in at 11 am waited patiently to put my name on the wait list but we were sat in 10 mins. Not bad to start I’ve been here a couple times and it’s usually a decent experience and the food is usually tasty. But today was the exception. After 1130 hit in waiting at the table with two kids watching people who were sat after us getting their food and enjoying breakfast as my coffee cup and the kids hot chocolate cups were empty and they were hungry but mostly cold being we were right by the door. Still patiently waiting the waitress finally stopped back over at 1150 to top off my coffee and said there was a mess up with the printer. Food came at noon I was no longer hungry I had two cups of coffee and a cup of water the kids were full of hot coco and barely ate. But we were all just wanting to get back to the car tired of the cold. Honestly I wouldn’t have care if it wasn’t for the orders placed after mine by 30 mins were served and cashed out and happily on their way and in the whole process we just seemed forgotten but, honestly this will be my last time at Steve’s as a local I’ll go to rylies or parkplace. Central perk is open I believe and I will gladly take my business to another local small business.
Total rip-off! $11 for two measly slices of French toast. They didn't even make it properly. I could have instructed children to make me a better meal. And the insult of charging $11 for two slices of bread, improperly dredged and grilled should embarrass whoever runs this dump. Only terrible shill Democrats would be so obscene. Shame on this place. Never again!
