Daxxon Chinese Restaurant is praised for its fresh, well-prepared food and friendly service. The barbecue ribs and pork egg foo young are highly recommended. One reviewer noted a disappointing experience after a year away.
Tip: Consider visiting the Thruway sporting goods store after your meal.

Update 9/7/2024.. yep still great.. Upate 12/23/2023 - still great.. just wished I lived closer. Been here several times.. great experience great food. Its 55 minutes from my house and well worth the drive. Pork egg foo young is out of this world. Make reservations for groups larger than 4
One of the few remaining sit down and dine in Chinese restaurants in the Orange county area. Meals are always fresh and prepared well. Service is always with a smile. When your done, go check out the Thruway Sporting goods store.
Daxxon restaurant is on point! Although I have only bought the General Tso combo numerous times, it’s super good. I’m sure the other meals are too quality as well and would recommend. To go combo dinner included: 2 Soy Sauce 2 Duck Sauce 1 Egg roll 1 Cookie Enjoy your visit ☕️
We have been coming here for years from the Town of Newburgh. The friendliest owner and staff. Dine in or takeout their food is delicious. It actually has flavor. This isn’t your typical Chinese Resturant. It’s clean and inviting if you decide to dine in.
Love the decor and the food is great! Stumbled upon this place and it ended up being quite the find! Definitely going back.
Best chinese food around. Reminds me of brooklyn chinese restaurants. Delicious soup and shrimp and lobster sauce. Fried rice had nice chunks of pork. Old school. Go check it out.
Daxxon is a wonderful restaurant. I want to say it’s family owned and run, regardless the food is fantastic. Great flavors, good portions, and fresh.
Things are a lot better here. Food is great and a friendly staff. If only they'd deliver.
I wish I had a photo the meal looked good it was good I have been going to this family restaurant restaurant before it move from Middletown great place great atmosphere the and the staff above and beyond the call thank you to them
Greeted nicely when we arrived, seated and our food was served quickly. Very clean and friendly. Great service and good prices.
Love the food and service here, they will make the food the way you like it best, extra meat, extra sauce. The service always great!
Great customer service and food! I highly recommend their Thai options. We tried the basil fried rice, panang curry, and pad Thai. All were delicious!
My friends and I have been coming to Daxxon Chinese restaurant for at least 10 years - sometimes I eat in and other times I take out. The restaurant is well-adorned with a pleasing decor, the service is always fast (very fast for lunch and very decent for dinner), and the food is always delicious and fresh. Even though I live half an hour away, I still travel to Walden, NY for Daxxon's delicious chinese food - my favorites are their General Tso's, Chicken with Broccoli, Egg Drop Soup, and my friend loved their Shrimp with Lobster Sauce.
Better to dine in here. The food is fantastic and the servers can't do enough to help. Great service.
We love their vegan general tsos and their veggie lo mein! Plus the people working there were so kind. Update: they have expanded and added an entire vegan section. Its amazing. Try it!
The food is great and the service is top of the line! They are extra friendly and helpful Ask for the beef with string beans and specify with brown sauce! 😋
Amazing staff in the front and great service whenever we dine in. The mee ga ti is my favorite thai dish. Must try! Waiters Tony and David are still here and remember us every time we come in for dinner. Needless to say, I don't go anywhere else.
Pretty much our go to for Chinese take out in the area. Place an order by phone and drive over to pick up. Super convenient and yummy. Staff is friendly and helpful on all fronts. See you next time!
Best Chinese food in the entire Walden/Wallkill area! I love their vegetable dishes, especially the bean curd home style with black bean sauce and veggies. Awesome sesame noodles, scallion pancakes, and lo mein too!
They have been in business for years and are my go to place for chinese food in the area. Great all around prices, the food is delicious, and the prices can't be beat. I especially love the specials they have everyday, makes eating out for lunch very afforable! I highly recommend them!
Great food. Great atmosphere... I drive 17 miles one way for the experience/food... EXCELLENT service. VERY fair pricing.
Best chinese anywhere! I grew up in the Hudson Valley but now live in Florida but whenever I go back up in the area, I always make time to stop at this little chinese restaurant. The food is the best there is and the service is always great too.
The absolute best. Wouldn't want to go anywhere else for Chinese food. Everyone is so friendly the minute you walk in and the service is great.
Love their food best Chinese food ever!!! That fried chicken is a hit. Can't wait to try other things
Chinese food it's really good & fresh, clean restaurant always!!, staff always friendly, great service, never had a bad experience, food is so much better than our local restaurants we drive out of town to go here, not too far but worth the trip!
The best sit down Chinese in the Hudson Valley. Though I have noticed new faces there and the owner and his wife I have not seen in some time. They still have their pictures on the walls, and the food is still great, some of the same waiters are there, so all is good so far. We have gone there for years, we have never ONCE been disappointed. Good service, great food, lovely atmosphere. There take out is great too.
This is, hands down, the best Chinese food you can find anywhere in Orange, Ulster, and Dutchess County! 1. The restaurant is super clean. The bathroom is super clean. I went one day for take out and arrived in the morning right after they opened. When I went inside one of the waiters was washing the wall down. You can't get cleaner than that. 2. The service is great. I have never had a problem with the service. Friendly and attentive. Food comes quickly. 3. The prices are reasonable. A little higher than other places, but the great food and great service is worth paying a little extra for. 4. The food is excellent! Very flavorful. Good portions. I have tried many other Chinese restaurants closer to where I live (Dutchess County) and have been disappointed every time. Most of them can't even get fried rice right. When your fried rice is as white as your plate, something is wrong. At Daxxon's you get great service, clean environment, and great food. You can't get better than that.
we order here every weekend and have never had a problem. the portions are small but the great food makes up for that. two guys at the front are efficient and friendly. also their interior decor is above average
I have dined in multiple times, and the food is always great. My kids love the mini bags of fried noodles that come with our soups when we order takeout, and the cashiers are always willing to give me an extra bag or two, as well as soy/duck sauce when asked. Definitely my go-to Chinese restaurant.
Love this place I go with my grandparents. The food is good, same as the prices. If you want good Chinese food then go here. Also the service is great. Edit pt1 no hair in the food unlike green jade
Best chinese food in Hudson Valley. Fresh, and tasty. Location is very nice set in Walden NY. Beef and broccoli is delicious.
I’ve been here a few times now, and it is so good! Definitely my favorite Chinese spot in the area. Staff is always nice and food is prepared in a timely manner. I usually get pork fried rice and chicken and broccoli both of which I think they do really well. Recently I also got boneless spare ribs and in all seriousness they’re the best I’ve had and I eat a decent amount of Chinese food. Will definitely go there again and 100% recommend. Quality food, good service, and reasonable pricing.
Let me start by saying that I have eaten Chinese food here since the late 90’s. Admittedly, this has been one of my favorite restaurants, not just Chinese restaurants over the last 20 years. I’ve always enjoyed the food and when they added Thai to the menu a few years ago it made it even better. Service is always on point wether you order take out or dine in. I have always had great service here and the food is great. Lastly, the main reason I’m writing this review is because recently I went in to order takeout for the first time in 3 months or so. I was beyond blown away by the new renovations. The new floor and walls look fantastic. The only thing this business needed was an aesthetic upgrade and they did a fantastic job of it. So refreshing to see a business thats been around for so long reinvesting in itself and working on itself even after all these years. If I could give it 6 stars I would
Had takeout here tonight. Waited a bit longer than usual, but worth my time. Been coming here for years and Betty is greatly missed. The younger female working the counter knows how to hold a conversation. Clean place. Great food.
New Ownership same good food Yesterday was the 3rd time we went back under new ownership. I had the fragrant beef , my guest had the General chows Chicken. We both could not finish our meals, they came with a soup and mine was Hot and sour, his was wonton. The soups are pretty standard which is not to say they were not good, but they are after all a staple of Chinese food in America. The are not an exciting new version of the old favorites, the are just the old favorites. Which is comforting, not boring and very satisfying. But the entrees are Really good. Again not much change to the old owners but that is a way to keep your clients happy and is done wrong in so many places. The General Chows are about 16 1 1/2 to 2" chunks of Chicken Deep fried and covered in and orange glaze. It is served with broccoli and rice, and is worth a trip just by it self. His favorite among the General chows of his 10-12 Chinese restaurants he visits. Fragrant beef is a meat and vegetable dish with many different flavors that all complement the beef quite well in a lite sauce. Served with rice. This dish is quite nice and unique, I like variety but here I seem to always go back to that dish, I like it so much. Good Luck to the new owners you are doing a good job and the food is consistently good!
Perfect combination of Chinese & Thai food. Moved to the area about a year ago and have been dying to find a place with good Chicken Pad Thai and they did not disappoint. Will continue to make them my go-to Chinese & Thai spot.
Lovely staff, delicious food
We ordered a combination dinner and the service was perfect! They are very attentive and treat you as if you are getting the most expensive dinner possible. The food was as good as expected very tasty and the restaurant is very clean!! Perfect night out.
Delicious very good quality food and amazing customer service.Have been coming for years always a great experience!Highly recomend!
Looks small from the outside but inside is very spacious. The staff is right there if you need them and the food is good, prices aren't bad either. First time, I'll go again then there's take out!
Had lunch there.Food is great and a friendly staff. Recommend place
Thirty years I have patronized this restaurant and was never ever disappointed with service or food. Everything is fresh and cooked just right. Every one that I brought to Daxxon loved the food. Its not the typical that you get at other resturants, their food is surprisingly tasty and different. Five stars for Daxxon. ------------------------------------------UPDATE---------------------------------------------------- Now that Daxxon is under new management, it is not the same stellar food and service. The quality of their food has gone down so much that it barely competes with the other run of the mill Chinese food places. General TSO chicken has become sickly sweet, the fried rice even suffers. Hot and Sour soup has turned into something I no longer recognize. The new owners did a whole lot of cost cutting and the cooks are really not that good. Such a shame, the one shining star has dimmed itself.
We are never disappointed at Daxxon. This family run restaurant has not allowed the quality of their food to deteriorate in spite of the years of covid and price increases. We usually go for the lunch or combo special and are always full and satisfied with their tasty (not watered down) wonton soup, an egg roll, the entree, and the hearty Oolong tea; in severe contrast to many buffets where, after consuming several plates of food, we'd leave unsatisfied. The staff is well trained and proficient, friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this restauran Please help keep this "rock" of good food in Walden.
Always my go-to for Asian food! Lo mein is to die for
They have the best bbq spare ribs. The food is amazing and the staff is always very friendly. Definitely a great place to go to when you are looking for gold Chinese or Thai food.
Absolutely delicious food very fresh and had that homemade feel..also great service.
Great spot, food was really good and fresh. The restaurant is very clean.
Best, freshest and most amazing Chinese food for 100 miles! If you have not been... Gather your loved ones and go. You will not be disappointed. Our waitress took the drink, appetizer and dinner orders for 5 people without writing down anything. We left there stuffed, with bags to go at an affordable price.
Quiet, relaxing space. Good food, friendly service.
Recommendations can be iffy. We haven’t had Chinese food in a long time and we opted to try this place. What a pleasant experience. They were busy, though not crowded. Seated promptly in an inviting and warm atmosphere. Server appeared quickly and our meals arrived very soon. Hot and well prepared and appetizing. Thank you for a nice dinner.
The meals have exceptional taste and satisfy the craving for Asain cuisine for an affordable price.. I am looking forward to returning.
I've been here for almost 5 years and it's been amazing, service is great, the food is still delicious, and the environment is cozy. Prices are reasonable for their flavor. Recommended place.
I ordered To Go. Standard food! Nothing too great or bad. Dinning room is setup dinner style and the staff in the front is friendly.
Good chinease food! Dining room hasn't been renovated since maybe late 70's service is average as expected in Waldrn.
The food is great sorry that I went to Larry's I was disappointed over there I will continue to come here and get my food even though it's more than 30 minute drive.
If you are from a more urban area (Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, or Middletown), this place is a little more formal than the places in those areas. Food: not greasy at all! My favorite is the orange chicken, but I will get general tso occasionally. The chicken is crispy hours later, even though it’s sitting in sauce. Love their chicken stick too! My fiancé gets the egg drop soup with wontons and healthy choice chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce on the side. He loves it. My only complaint is that you don’t get enough rice. Staff: super friendly! They make you feel like youre family. Checks on you, asks you about your day, accommodates as best as they can. The only down side is that some people may feel like they are too interactive… but I love it. Atmosphere: very cute, definitely reflects their culture. Super clean and organized.
Their Chinese food is average, Their Thai food is delicious - I like the pineapple fried rice with beef. We order often and the lady at the front is rude on the phone and in person. She screams at me when addressing me. I don’t even know what I did! Food is good but that lady needs to change... last time she made me pay for her mistake..
we come here every week. food is adequate but the prices have shot up portions were small and did not fill us whatsoever. Young man at the front friendly and accomodating to our needs. I do like their thai meals
I have been looking for a Chinese restaurant where you can dine in a nice atmosphere and Daxxon fit the bill. When arriving we were warmly greeted and shown to our table. We started off with steamed dumplings and a PU PU platter which were both superb. We then got our entrees that were also very good and had generous portions. Our waiters were very friendly and attentive, filling our water glasses frequently. This establishment reminds me of the restaurants that I grew up with in Northern New Jersey. I will definitely become a regular.
I quick grabbed some wings and other things before work. Asked for the wings to be well done,, they were still red inside. Thanx guys that was my lunch at work that just went in the garbage
Called to place an order for pick up. The customer service is terrible. The person that answered the phone answered it like she was answering her private cell phone. Not very friendly or professional. I hope the food is better, we'll see. Update! Despite the terrible customer service, the food was excellent, and reasonably priced.
Food went down hill. Broccoli and chicken small Portion. Rice brown ??. My girl friend got wrong meal? Not sending food back.
Drink was weak. I polity asked to take it back. Heard negative comments at the bar, so i decided just to drink water instead. Been going here for years. Service is starting to fall off with rudeness (females only) the male servers were great.
Have eaten here for years. Always happy. Last time they really butchered my takeout. Put in an item in recipe I specifically requested be left out. Added a lot to it. I threw it out when I got home. Haven't been back since. Staff cavalier when I drew their attention to the matter. There are lots of other Chinese restaurants in the area. Grade B-
Daxxon continues to be higher priced then the other Chinese restaurants in the area. The quantity of many food items has been reduced as well as several dishes being bland. The spare ribs are still awesome. There was a time when i didnt mind paying more with them, because the food quality was above average. That is no longer the case and will be going elsewhere.
Tonight this restaurant officially lost me as a customer. It’s unfortunate, because I truly prefer their food over that of other restaurants in the area. They also have numerous vegetarian and vegan options that are really good. I won’t give them a 1 star rating just because I’m angry, that would be unfair, and I won’t stoop so low as to treat them the way they treated me. This evening my boyfriend placed an order by phone. I went to pick it up on my way home from work. I get home and find that the egg foo young combo is missing the egg roll and sauce. Everything else in our order was perfect. I called the restaurant to let them know about the error, and to make them aware I would go back to get these things. I live 6 minutes away, it’s not a big deal and if you’ve ever tried to eat egg foo young without the sauce, you know it’s quite plain. I didn’t get far on the phone, the very nice girl told me she had to ask her boss, she explained she is young and needed permission to correct mistakes. I understood and told her I’d just head over. I get there and explain to the woman behind the counter what I had told the girl on the phone, that we were missing these 2 items. She starts talking to the woman who packed our order. This woman swore that she put the sauce with our order. I said it was not there. They went to the kitchen, grabbed the egg foo young sauce and held it up and asked me if I was sure, and said this is what it looked like. This is what upset me. They continued to grill me over whether or not the sauce and egg roll were there, they repeated that it should be there. Eventually they handed me the two items and I left, making sure to tell them they lost my business. No apology, and they were smiling and laughing as I walked out the door. I called the restaurant again when I got home and asked when the owner would be in. I felt terrible that this was how I had left off with a family owned business, I hoped to resolve things. I make a point of working for family owned businesses myself, and it takes a toll when people leave as unhappy as I did. I was then informed over the phone that the woman I spoke to at the restaurant was the owner. If this is how the owner of this establishment does business, I no longer feel bad about this review. Their food is great, but their customer service tonight was disgraceful. We ordered $100.00 worth of food to be treated like criminals over egg foo young sauce and an egg roll. No thank you.
I have been coming to Daxxon for years but it seems that, like many other things in this economy, there is a tilt towards cost-savings that is affecting the customer. The other day I ordered to go the House Special Soup which is different at most other locations from the subgum wonton soup in that are typically no wontons in the houe special soup. I order the soup (large only) and a small wonton soup. When I got home after picking up my order I discovered wontons in the soup (a pleasant surprise) but the contents were, sadly, not very much. These soups are typically chock full of chicken, pork, and shrimp with a lot of vegetables but mine had no shrimp and very little of the other ingredients.
This was at one time my favorite Chinese food restaurant. Today it was way over priced, the young girl working the counter was extremely rude and this will most definitely be the last time that I venture into this establishment.
I was going here since I was very young. But the last couple years there food just doesn't taste the same. I miss the old flavor they use to have.
Used to be very good. We did take out here often. Now prices are up, servings down, very tight on condiments. Serve tie was good. But I won't go back again
Iam use to eating chinese fast food from all 5 boroughs Brooklyn,Bronx,Manhattan and China Town etc.The food at all these Restaurant all taste good n are similiar in the taste.I moved to upstate NY .The people in this Village (region)only have 2 Restaurant, they dont kno better iam sorry but the food is not to good.I wont be eating nothing chinese up on that region. I wish the people could taste other chinese food besides the 2. they would love it even more.I dont kno if i should blame it on the water.
I was very disappointed! I've always looked forward to eating here. But, this time my fried dumplings and scallion pancakes were burned and, my sesame chicken tasted burned under the sauce.
Kung Pao chicken should be renamed Kung Pao vegetable, coz it's 98% veges and 2% chicken. Food is bland with a hint of soy. The chicken fried rice was not bad but not good either. Their food was good at one time, but not anymore.
Very disappointing! We had heard good things and recommendations for Daxxon, so we decided to try it out. Unfortunately, our experience was not good. I ordered Orange Flavor Beef. It was inedible. The beef was so tough and chewy. My wife ordered Gluten Free Vegetable Chow Mein. She was served a dish filled with chicken. When questioned about it, the waiter ran into the kitchen then returned and said it would be replaced. She was then served a plate of vegetables in a clear sauce with no flavor at all. The waiter didn't come back to check on us for quite some time. We both wanted drink refills but had no chance to ask because he was nowhere to be found. When he finally did visit our table. I told him my dish was terrible and that I couldn't eat it. He just took the dish away and mumbled "OK". He then presented the bill with no adjustment for the unacceptable dish. We paid...including a good tip...and left. We won't be returning. Oh, the soup was just average. Like I said...very disappointing.
They used to be very good. A while back new owners took over. In my opinion, the changes have not been positive. The food is nowhere near as good. Unfortunately, we don't order from Daxxon anywhere near as much as we use to. We have been using other restaurants instead much more often.. Daxxon is not bad, just not all that good anymore. There are much better options now.
Not what once was , I never discriminate over one bad meal , but ordered beef sticks , one was 3 inches long , and the others were not much larger. . And beef fried rice had like 4 pieces of beef. Prices go up, but quality goes down.
Beware if they offer you more soda. It is not a refill. They charge you full price. The two of us paid $6.75 just for soda with our dinner. They also have a minimum per person charge. The egg rolls didn't have much in them, and not much flavor. Fried rice not very good.
Been coming here for years, the cost continues to rise while the quality of food declines. Really just not worth it anymore, there are other local places that have better for cheaper.
Ordered 5 dinners on Wed, April 29th and 2 apps. Total of almost $70.00. All dinners were in lunch containers. Chicken chow mein had 4 tiny pieces of chicken. Shrimp in lobster sauce had 4 small shrimps. NO soy sauce, 1 mustard and 1 sweet and sour sauce for 5 meals. No soup for dinner because it is take out. Very disappointed. My family was still hungry when done. If the portions are going to be lunch portions, don't charge dinner prices. Not ordering from there again.
Daxxon's used to be our favorite go-to Chinese restaurant. After a year of not being able to go there we went last month. We were very disappointed in both the food and service. We felt like we were imposing on the staff. I will say food came quickly and was proper temperature. But taste of our 4 different options were lackluster. So because I believe in second chances and off days we went again last night. We choose totally different foods and were again disappointed. The hot and soup was gelatinous. The main dishes were just okay. To their credit the eggrolls and table noodles were really good. Sad to say but I do believe this will be our last visit.
Decent food, however has become way overpriced. Been a patron for over 20 years. To be honest since ownership transferred hasn’t been the same. $22 for General Tso Chicken is absurd
I've been going to Daxxon since 1989...always consistent great quality food and attentive service. The owners were always there and attended to small details; they made customers feel very welcome. Tonight the experience was far less. I hear there are new owners, they are not living up to the high bar set by the former owners. The food was okay, just okay...(fried noodles very stale) but the service was comical!. The two waiters had no idea what they were doing, they also both had zero ability to complete tasks. I watched as they would head to get something, stop along the way clean a table, get something else, talk to each other, then get the item they went for. Our soups never arrived, when the meal came we asked for the soups; from the temp of the soups they had been ready, just not delivered. I saw other customers who like us had some of their order wrong and had to send it back, and like us shake their head in disbelief...it was that funny/sad. A large problem was the two waiters seemed to not understand English, I understand it is a Chinese restaurant, but the ability to receive and understand orders is pretty important...I believe that was the reason for the wrong items on our order and the other tables. Also ... They should take down the old photos above the register of Miss Makita 1995 with the old owners...don't try to fool us into believing the same competent steady hand runs the restaurant as always did. Like the former owners, the new owners should do some work, earn their own reputation instead of trying to live off the old one as they deflate it. I gave two stars as the food was "okay"...not terrible.
The pork fried rice was hard and dried, definitely not fresh. Spare ribs were rubbery. Total waste of money.
Food taste off. I've given this place multiple chances and it fails again and again. Beef nd broccoli, chicken and broccoli , chow ho fun etc.. no matter what I order there is a distinct "refrigerator" taste as if they don't cover the food when it's being stored in the coolers. Almost freezer burn like. I've tried the fried chicken (how could you mess this up?) Nd I know most chinese places put there chicken in a seasoned brine before frying as this place does( to season and to keep fresh for longer) but when I bit into it there was a distinct "funk" smell coming off it. Borderline spoiled. And last but not least the simplest thing on the menu WHITE RICE, AGAIN it stinks, not like good jasmine rice either. Like they used the rice from the day before or used putrid water to cook it. This place needs help. I'm done.
Use to be our favorite take-out spot, however the food quality, cleanliness and customer service has greatly changed under new management. we have been let down multiple times. Unfortunately, it's time we find a new local Chinese food restaurant.
First and last time at this place. Dumplings were disgusting, and chicken wasn't edible. Rubbery, slimy, maybe not cooked enough. Had two bites and threw away. Bummer!
Food was over cook and had no taste. The service was awful. They crowded everyone in to a little space while there was plenty of room witch made dining very uncomfortable. Prices were also pretty unreasonable. I would not recommend this place to anybody. I will continue to eat at Ming Jie's rather then Daxxon so if you're looking for a place in the area Ming Jie's is what I suggest!
I would pick up general tso's chicken every Monday from this place til I got food poisoning not once but twice. I went in and asked them about it and they said it couldn't have been them. I gave them a second shot and got sick from it again. Never again!
I was told I had to wait an hour but it was an hour and a half. I also received the wrong order. I had ordered beef with mixed vegetables and received beef with broccoli. It used too much sauce and was not cooked well.
Last experience was horrible! We will not be returning. Staff very rude! They sat us in the back next to the bathrooms that's all we smelt was the bathrooms disgusting! Food wasn't very good either. One star is giving them too many.
They used to be the best around. We used to go 2-3 times a month. I loved chatting with the owners. They'd always greet me with a smile and tell me a crazy funny story. Now, after the new ownership has taken over, the staff seems depressed and bleak. The quality of the ingredients have dropped, and there is a major difference in the taste of the food. The last two times I've ordered from here, I had to throw out my food because it tasted like rotting flesh. The rice was even very bland. I'd avoid at all costs. Just go to Larry's in Pine Bush and be done with it. It's a shame too. I've spent a lot of money here over the years. Sad to see the original owners go and the drop in quality.
I keep hoping the new owners will get it right. But they don't! I used to get a lunch combo and it was enough for 2 meals for me. I just finished a pork lo mein w/ pork fried rice. Not only were the portions much smaller but it was very bland. The signs in the window about being voted "Hudson Valleys Best" were for the previous owner. Don't be deceived!!!
We've been using Daxxon as our go to Chinese restaurant for more than 25 years now. Unfortunately ever since the original owners sold it, it has been going downhill. Tonight was the last time we'll go there. Ordered Sesame chicken, fried rice. The rice was dry, the egg roll must have been made days ago, and the sesame chicken tasted like the sauce had been scaled so bad it had a burnt popcorn taste to it. Really inedible. And really a shame.
I had made a reservation for 5:30 for myself and my husband. We arrived at 5:35 and the waiter wanted to put us at a table so close to the door and we asked for another table. He just made a jester to wait. 45 minutes later we left. There were several open tables that were made up for customers and spaced apart. We very much enjoy the food there as we have dined there before but had noticed even then that the two waiters, the same both times, are not friendly or even a bit nice. That’s very sad as it is a nice place to go. We will find another Chinese restaurant that will make you feel somewhat welcome or at least.
Food didnt taste good and more expensive than other places. Didnt get much of a portion either. We ordered 2 large chicken & broccolis and they prob could have fit both of ours into 1 container. Plus it had no flavor, Instead it tasted like plastic.
My girlfriend and I just ate dinner there tonight. She loves the place and we have gone there for years. I heard it changed hands no too long ago, but since then I was told most of the same folks are there and the food is still good. I can't agree. I had the chicken with broccoli and she had boneless ribs, both were combination dinners which come with your choice of rice and soup along with an egg roll and ice cream for desert. We ordered hot tea while we waited and found the tea to be nearly flavorless. I would describe it as brown water. We both chose won ton soup and fried rice. The soup tasted like dirty dishwater and the meat inside the won tons had an odd consistency. I tried not to think about it as I ate. When the entree arrived, we both found the fried rice to have an extreme lack of flavor, It reminded me of the dish water soup. My chicken was rubbery. The sauce was okay but lacked flavor. The broccoli was decent. I decided to eat the egg roll instead of the rubbery chicken, but found it also very bland. Inside I saw cabbage and evidence of nothing else. My girlfriend said the rib meat was good, but that was all. I let them take mine, she asked that the meat be packed for take home. We both looked forward to the desert since they have pistachio ice cream, which is a favorite for us. Again, we were very disappointed. The ice cream was definitely not the same brand. It was gummy and icy. It tasted like it had been in the freezer for months. Anyone that can screw up a cup of ice cream deserves special credit, and for us that means never going there again. We are both very sorry that an establishment so much a part of the community has gone so bad.
Worst Chinese in the world don't bother. Their pricing is double what it is anywhere else and their sauces all taste like they've been sitting for months with dirty socks in them. $20 for a boneless rib you can get for $10 anywhere else and their portions are a pathetic joke in comparison too. It must be like that supreme brand that's just a logo stuck on trash to raise the price of trash.
I decided to get some chinese food after work and haven’t tried this place before. Brought it home being hopeful that it was going to be good but it wasn’t. I ordered General Tsos Chicken and it looked AND tasted like slop. The fried rice felt like they had shed a tire and made it into rice. And to top it all off I now have food poisoning and i’m 100% sure that it’s from this place being it was the only food I ate all day. DO NOT EAT HERE.
