The place wasnt too expensive. A sea bass is going to be a $50 plate pretty much anywhere worth a darn. This was only 31 and 11 or so for a plate of calamari. Theq sauce for the calamari was different. So price wise , things were better then expected. The waiter was nice to give me more hot tea and bags. Helps dropping a few "L" "B" 's. Anyway, the food tastes better then expected and price was good too. Bathroom on the second floor of the hotel. Aside from that inconvenience all was good.
Good choice for lunch whether you want an entree or a sandwich. The chicken sandwich with bacon and melted cheese with sweet potato fries was really good and reasonably priced at $12. Conveniently located next to the Farragut West metro and a short walk to the Renwick and White House.
This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food was delicious. We were on a walking tour around the city and very hungry. We stopped there without prior planning and as we were taking a look at what the outdoor posted menu offered, two extremely satisfied tourists went out and randomly strongly encouraged us to try it as they were very happy with their own experience. They talked non stop about how good the food was and how it should be an absolute loss if we dont give it a try. This is when another tourist got out of the restaurant and acertained what was previously advised. We did not regret it at all. The menu is rich and limited at the same time which is something I appreciate especially when I am new to the experience as I get easily lost when it comes to choosing from a big unfamiliar list. Each one of us had a preference and we all shared to taste. Everything was delicious ( crab cake, crab and avocado stack, soup of the day, filet mignon, LAMB BURGER, lobster raviolli). Also the music was perfect. Calm french ambiance. They also serve bread and unsalted butter while the order is being processed. The service is a little bit slow though but the waiters are helpful.
Nice place, good service. The french toasts might be a little more creamy, less dry.
Great service and delicious food. I had the lobster ravioli and it was fantastic.
Food was very good. We had steak and salmon. Both cooked properly and at a decent price. We discounted it as it was kind of off to the side of our hotel but glad we went. Can get a window seat
I had lunch here with a colleague. It was great. The wait time was reasonable and the food was fresh. We were served with hot french bread while awaiting our meal. It's just around the corner from the White House.
We sat at the bar. The bartender made me the best old fashioned I have ever had. There was a muted feel to the place, as if the rest of the world didn't exist here. Great decor.
Nice location for Metro riders. Very nice food, service was good. I will definitely go back. I want to try their Happy Hour!
Service and food are phenomenal! No matter what time or day you go. You will all be treated like a family member and will enjoy the food
Went for lunch and was very happy with the quality and prices of the lunch options. Plenty to choose from. Great happy hour too!
Very quiet and cozy. I enjoyed having dinner with friend there. I love their steak frites.
Great place to complement our fine hotel stay. Delicious menu selections that are very tasty.
The food was wonderful. The best salmon I have had in a long time at a restaurant
A nice, quiet environment; my friend and I were seated immediately at six on a Sunday evening. We ordered two different kinds of burgers (mine was lamb) and enjoyed them immensely! I didn't take pictures, but I really should've. Both plates were nicely crafted
Had carry-out here while staying at the hotel upstairs so can't speak to dining-in experience. The lamb burger with goat cheese was excellent and the garlic wine mussels were tasty as well. The bar tender also let us borrow a couple of wine glasses which we brought back later. Good experience overall.
Great happy hour place. Their house wines are really good, the happy hour menu is pretty large with lots of choices, and the wait staff is super friendly. In the summer, the staff opens up the entire front wall so it is just like eating outside without all the pesky bugs.
Small bistro serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food was good tasting, hot and fresh but was surprised it took a while since we were the only guests seated. Otherwise a good meal.
This place was a cool oasis after walking in the hot sun of a 100° DC July afternoon. I had a burger and my partner had a beet salad. Both were very tasty and the service was good. Price with tip was approx $60.
European styled restaurant. Elegant and great service. Their lamb burger is delicious
This is a hotel restaurant but conveniently located to Farragut Square Park. Happy hour is from 4 to 8PM! Need I say more?
Good food, good service, intimate setting. Good dinner menu with standard options.
I went to this place for lunch during a three week business trip in DC. The wait time was reasonable and the food was fresh. We were served with hot french bread while awaiting our meal. The served food was good quality and the waiter friendly. Prices are reasonable by the quality.
A cosy little restaurant selling american food that wants to be french. Food is pretty yum. Price is okay. Has good opening hours.if you're worried about value, the burgers are pretty reasonable and the sweet potato fries are tasty. I ordered the lambshank which was fall off the bone delicious. Went there for breakfast as well had some pretty yummy eggs and delicious french toast (seriously good!) Unfortunately they committed the major faux-paux of serving table syrup and calling it "maple syrup" on the menu. Still would highly recommend.
Found this place by accident while walking. Sat at the bar and had happy hour beer and wine ... One of the hardest working bartenders we have seen.. Price great and service very good. Liked it so much that after the cherry blossom stuff we went back.
Charming bistro off the lobby of my hotel. Scallops, salads & tapenade were quite tasty. Stay away from the onion tart as the kitchen hasn't mastered puff pastry tart shells - soggy, soggy, soggy! Also, the unmelted cheese scattered over top of the nicely melted cheese was a mis step.
We stopped in for a light bite to eat. What we ordered was quite good. Even though we were the only ones in the restaurant the service was mediocre. Prices are on the high end.
Food is good but they have a slight issue with flies. I guess that’s what you get when you open all the windows and doors right next to a metro stop. Right next to Farragut West entrance.
Always great food and service. Well located and priced. Good for lunch and dinner.
it's been fun, attentive, great music on the far background. 5 stars if they have more choice of vine, but still acceptable.
Delicious food. Nice ambiance. Everything we've eaten in our 2 visits has been yummy. That said, staff is quirky. Almost discouraged by the hostess from eating there. Both times we were told you won't get your food for really long time. Independently surveyed the situation and took the risk. Both times food came out promptly, was well prepared and presented, and tasty. Whatup?
It takes a bit for me not to eat what's on my plate, however I found it here. Of the 3 course meal I had, the salad was ok, ribs not great and the creme brulee was still cold in the middle. Service was ok, however was bland in the waiter had no interest in the food or customer. I would not eat here again unless I was out of options.
This is an adequate bar and restaurant. They have good happy hour specials on food and drink, but only Peroni on draft and a pretty limited bottled beer selection. I just wish they would broaden their offerings a bit more.
The service in this place is either great or horrible, there isn't really an in between. The food and drinks are decent (great wine selection) as well as the happy hour specials. Great for an intimate get together, but don't expect the greatest service.
Better than average Cafe style restaurant, good brasserie atmosphere, but while the food is good, it is not great and the menu could stand a little more variety from the possibilities offered by French or Belgian cuisine.
Uninspired service. Coupon from hotel, though appreciated, led to poor beer selection and bad house wine. In the past I have gotten good food here.
1. Nice Atmosphere 2. Bar tender bearly tends the bar, i expect proper service when dining in specially near dc 3. Lamb burger was 7 out of 10 .
Good food. Not a cafe in the sense of a place that serves coffee - they just have regular joe. Slightly odd waiter.
Unfortunately one of the people dining with us had an awful experience. They asked for their fish not to have sauce on it - first came out exactly as another at our table with sauce. Sent it back and came out with no seasoning and in the same sauce. Maybe wouldn't have been so bad had the salad he ordered with dressing on the side not come out with dressing on it and had to get that corrected. They did comp the meal so at least they tried to make up for mistakes. The rest of us had good food.
**As an amendment to my earlier review, as we contacted the manager of the restaurant as soon as I noticed the errant charge. The manager looked into the issue, and he called my husband back with his sincere apologies and refunded not only the tip amount, but the amount for our entire check. I am pleasantly surprised at the outcome; I feel that the manager did everything in his power to completely rectify the experience we had, and I appreciate that. Honestly, too, I think the food would have been delicious, had it been served immediately, so it may be worth a try if you are in the area. My original review is still below, because, while the manager rectified the situation, it still important for other's to know things like this, especially when spending the kind of money this place calls for, and to know if you get service like this, get a manager involved before you leave. ______________________________________________________________________ This place was awful. After we placed our order, we never saw the server. Our food was served to us cold, after sitting in the window for who knows how long, and it took me another ten minutes to flag a server down to address the issue, and instead of fixing the issue, they put my medium rare steak in the microwave and brought it back out to me. Again, after this, I never saw a server again. It took us twenty minutes of servers walking by us and our plates sitting on the edge of the table, doing their side work, to get them to take our plates and bring the check. My husband and I left no tip, after spending $80 on an awful, re-heated meal. However, when I looked at my bank account this morning, the server took it upon himself to charge a $14 un-authorized tip to my card. So if you do go here, make sure you keep your receipt, and check the charge a few days later. This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had.
I thought it was going to be even more expensive Unfortunately the food was not tasty. We were only two customers at the restaurant and the waiter managed to forgot my order. I would not recommend it
We were there for sunday breakfast right below Club Quarters Hotel. 1 waiter running the entire show and there was a lady who was going around giving coffee. We ordered coffee and our cup was dirty. There were lipstick stain. When I showed it to the waiter, he was like oh and took the cup and brought me coffee that was cold. Food was ok but service was not so suffice. Gratuity was included which was odd because they sure do not deserve 18%.
Very lovely server. I'd pass on the rest/ very overpriced. Chicken was dry, potatoes were gummy, and spinach was overdone with garlic. Didn't receive more than a steak knife to eat bone-in chicken. Was it edible? Sure... Will I be returning? Absolutely not.
The staff sat in the dining area in front of everybody eating outside food and ignoring guests. I sat with an empty glass for 15 minutes (as did the table next to me) as they ate. Several employees looked at my empty glass and walked by. They then went to the back room and did not come back out for another long period of time. I have worked in numerous restaurants and have never been so appalled by staff in a restaurant trying to be "nice."
A disgrace to our nations’s capital city. We waited 20 minutes before even being offered menus, our inattentive waiter Oscar had to be asked for water which took another 5 minutes. After 40 minutes of being ignored, we asked to speak with the manager who informed us our food was behind 25 other orders despite there being only a handful of other people present. If this is how this restaurant operates, then they won’t last long.
Food has no flavor, seating makes you feel like you sitting in the lap of person next to you. Staff and service is slow and forgets to bring what you ordered
This was the worst dining experience I have had in a very long time. We had a table of about 14 but were the only ones in the restaurant. Prices weren't cheap and my steak was very over cooked, as was my friend's burger. The server never came back to ask us how things were. It took over an hour to give us our checks. Still we were the only ones in the restaurant. It was like a very strange dream. Then they added 20 percent gratuity on top of the tax, which is normally what I would tip, but not after an experience like this??!! I said something but left it as is, but the experience was so bad that I felt like I had to leave a review. Never again would I even humor coming back. I'd rather go hungry.
The hostess did not greet me. She watched me stand in the waiting area until another lady came by and asked if I had a reservation. The waiter seemed like he was in such a hurry, he started walking away before I even completed my order. I had to ask them for bread and butter even though all the other tables were served without asking. He couldn't help me with recommendations for the menu and didnt inform me of the daily specials. I overheard the specials from another table he catered to and my food was boxed up without half of what was on my plate. Service could have been a lot better. Food was okay.
Slow service. We stood awkwardly waiting at the door for a few minuets until they felt included to seat us in their near empty dining room. The server was not clear on where to sit so we seated ourselves. I also had to get up to grab our menus. All this I could have delt with. The part I’m most unhappy about was the hair INSIDE my (way over cooked) poached egg. My father, who I had taken out for breakfast, had to flag our server down. He removed the plate and offered me something else, but did not apologize. The cook gave me a dirty look from the kitchen. They did not charge me and I just opted for a ginger ale. Dad said his food was alright, But my ginger ale was served room temperature. I will not be returning nor will I recommend this establishment.
Very slow service with 1 couple in the restaurant before us. Ate here for breakfast and would never recommend this place. Toast came out so cold there was no chance of melting the butter for it. Never came back to ask how food was, waitress had to yell at kitchen to get our order when she looked over and realized we still didn't have our food 25 minutes later. Handed our credit card to the waitress after we were sitting waiting for a bill for a while. No better at night, busy, loud and they don't even make an effort to serve you.
