This place is great. I had heard good things so I drove up from Houston to give it a try and I wasn’t disappointed. We started off with the pork belly burnt ends. Don’t let the pork belly scare you off - there was plenty of meat and they were very tasty. We decided to split the Pitmaster plate as we wanted to try some of everything. The plate had 1/4 pound of sliced brisket, pulled pork, St. Louis ribs, black pepper sausage, smoked turkey, and jalapeno-cheddar sausage (see picture). For our sides we had mac and cheese, fries, pops beans, and fried okra. Our food was out quickly and was great! There was plenty of food (had to take some home) and we were stuffed. Some of the best BBQ I’ve had. Service was very friendly and professional. We will definitely stop by the next time we drive by. Thanks!

Heading home to Houston decided we wanted BBQ and found this spot. Wow so glad we did. I got the three meat plate-juicy flavorful you don’t even need sauce, smoked turkey was good and the jalapeño cheddar sagas was so juicy and tasty. My friend got the chicken fried steak-good portion size, crunchy and tender meat topped with delicious gravy. Oh we also got bacon wrapped jalapeños stuffed with brisket omg so amazing!!! Highly recommend stopping here to eat!!

Solid four-star experience. I came in for lunch on a not-busy early Thursday afternoon, and I would’ve given this place five stars except that it took more than 10 minutes for the server to approach, and the fact that they have Wi-Fi but it doesn’t work because the place has a metal roof, which kept me from having an actual working lunch. I couldn’t even use my mobile hotspot. Besides that, though, my server is really friendly and efficient, and the food was really good. I got the stuffed baked potato (the Ella) w/ brisket; it was a little too finely chopped for me, but it was still really tasty. The potato was huge and came fully loaded. They sure weren’t shy with the amount of brisket that was on this potato. I also got the stuffed sweet potato with smoked turkey to go, per my server’s recommendation. The smoked turkey was really good when I had it for dinner later, but I kinda wish I’d gotten the brisket with that, too. Next time I come, I’ll definitely try more of the meats, that baked potato was calling my name today.

BBQ was decent. Turkey and pulled pork good, brisket on the dry side (lean so somewhat expected, although the fat cap was missing - would have helped. Service was great. Friendly. Wouldn’t go out of my way to get, but good if you’re driving by.

Nice place little boring atmosphere. The burnt ends were great. Sliced brisket was dried out, sausage was dried out, turkey was good, chopped brisket needs more smoke, they ran out of ribs. Side were good. Old fashion is good the Cosmo was made incorrect. We bought the plate that plate with all the meat options. We would love for a little compensation back. The server can keep her tip. It's not her fault.

Blue Bonnet Barbecue in Waxahachie is pure Texas barbecue heaven. I ordered the sausage (jalapeño cheese and pepper), ribs, smoked turkey, coleslaw, and smoked beans with brisket — and every single bite was a flavor bomb. The smoke was rich but not overpowering, the meat was tender and juicy, and the seasoning hit just right. Even the sides were standouts — that coleslaw was crisp and fresh, and the smoked beans with brisket? Absolutely next level. The customer service was friendly, the environment was clean, and even though my first order was to-go, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. In fact, on my way back to Round Rock the very next day, I made a detour just to grab more sausage and ribs. If you’re on Highway 287 in Waxahachie heading east, do yourself a favor — stop at Blue Bonnet Barbecue. It’s not just a meal, it’s a must-do experience.

Thank you so much for resolving our issue. God Bless. I've been looking forward to this place for a while. Like most Great Barbecue Joints when it's all gone, it's all gone. So I didn't get to try all the things. I ordered the Sweet Potato with turkey and a 2lb family meal. Tater fixins are good. The Turkey. All 2lbs and 1/4 for the potato is definitely so hard on the outside edge it is inedible. It felt like razor blades slowly going down! Hours! Im from Austin. I just spent my 2 1/2 hour drive trying to digest the bite I tried to chew and Did Not spit out. My esophagus burns. My stomach aches. For at least an hour, I felt razor blade scraping slowly, going down to my stomach. Sharp pains. Burping. It's similar to a dry heave. I can not throw up because I have a hiatal hernia repair. Now I feel sharp pains in my stomach, and my esophagus burns when i swallow. The sharp edges and dried out skin of the smoked turkey feels like hard plastic. My 40 + years of food service is wondering why one would sell me inedible food. I mentioned to the cashier (Shift Lead ) that it was hard and not good her thoughts..." It's the end of the night," What I heard is I paid full price for old overcooked food that caused me great pain and discomfort for 3 hours now. I am worried I could bleed... in the process of this digestion. I spent over $107, including a $17 tip. Why would you not just cut the bad part off? Charging me for all those pointy edges and thick "skin"... I would really like a refund for this . It's a waste of my money. If it's not Safe to eat. Don't sell it. "IT'S THE END OF THE NIGHT" is not very Honorable. I tried to resolve my issue at the location. Very disappointed. From the look of the other reviews, selling old food has become a problem.

Solid BBQ. Fall off the bone ribs meat. The highlight was the fried okra which had a seasoning that was out of this world! The letdown was the dessert which was an apple crumble, which was a hot boiling, super sweet mess of sugar and butter(or oil)?

Had a nice experience here! Food was plentiful and good. The Ella - which is a big baked potato with all the fixins was delicious and food came out fast. The banana pudding was the only thing I’d say to skip on, it was bland and the bananas weren’t ripe. Maybe I got a bad batch

Started off a little weird, not busy inside, but we waited at least 5 minutes for the person at the front was helping someone on the phone and then a guy placing an order to go. We just wanted to be seated, no one else was there to help her. Once seated the server was great, just that initial delayed the process. We were heading to the airport and the one with us was also headed somewhere afterwards. 3 of us ordered sweet tea, my first taste, like crazy amounts of sugar. I had to dilute by adding 1/3 of the glass into a full glass of water and seems still too sweet. Like more than chicken express. The ribs were like spot on! Crazy tender great flavor, bite right off the bone. Brisket excellent smoke, nicely tender, not enough flavor for my taste, but nice bark, nicely moist. I'm not a fan of either of their BBQ sauces, too tangy for both styles. Pulled Pork was my wife's favorite nicely moist tender and good flavor. Excellent Jalapeno Sausage, tender with great flavor and heat with big pieces of cheese and sliced perfect size. Related to the sides, green beans were good, not too seasoned as they were for our 11 month old grandson. Fried okra had great flavor and fried perfectly. Really good corn or the cob. And also approved by our grandson. Onion rings were a little tough, very crunchy but that the way they do them. My son-in-law said his CFS was good, not the best he's had but good. Mac&Cheese was good and I’d usually not say that when they use the canned cheese but this was pretty good. . You can't please everyone and certainly they have so many things on the menu it's hard to do great at all of them. I was almost as excited to try the dessert as the BBQ, as I friend told me about this place and I had looked it up online ahead of time. The front board doesn't have all of the items. They do have several other things on the menu. Like Salads, and 3-4 more kinds of desserts. I'm a huge Bread Pudding enthusiast and this one not that impressive. Was warmed and had a bit of an orange flavor, but the Cinnamon Roll Cheesecake could be completely worth the trip. I'd come back for sure and try something different things and other cheesecake flavors

Im not a huge fan. The brisket seemed dry for an early lunch. The mac & cheese had something added in it (i cant remember and i didnt see it on the menu. Bacon? Brisket? Either way, it tasted fine. I got the bread pudding for dessert which was served warm and I asked for to-go. But they didn't have any disposable utensils at the time. It was really yummy! Tasted like a cinnamon roll. Would be great with ice cream. Server was friendly and attentive and answered all my questions. They also have guest wifi! Plenty of space. Has a stage for events I suppose. Outdoor area look like it be relaxing if eating outside.

Stopped Here for the Grandpups, Won’t Be Stopping Again I pass this place often on my way to and from Houston, and finally decided to stop for some ribs for my grandpups. Ordering started off fine, but then my to-go order just sat on the counter for several minutes while nobody was at the register. The manager was nearby but too busy chatting with other customers to notice. A server walked past the bag multiple times, but I guess to-go orders weren’t her job. I finally had to get the manager’s attention, and that’s when the excuses started. Apparently it was somehow my fault they were out of the sausage I ordered. She said it takes 20 minutes to make, then in the same breath said I hadn’t been waiting that long. Maybe this is considered great BBQ in Ennis, but in my opinion, it’s “meh” at best — both the food and the service. The 20 minute sausage was very underwhelming and flavorless.

Service & atmosphere were both great! Clean facilities. Unfortunately food was good, not great. Brisket was very dry, turkey incredibly bland, sausage had the best flavor of the meats. Torpedos (bacon wrapped jalapeños) were good. Best thing we ate was hands down the key lime pie.
