Delicious Pho!!! So addictive. Couldn’t put my chopstick/spoon down! Delish! I got the vegan pho and a side of the grilled white fish!

Mama Hong's does not disappoint. I have brought several of my family and friends here and they all love it! I order the vegan pho and have the tofu fried because that is how I prefer tofu in my pho. I recommend ordering the Large pho size. It's only $1 more and is a huge portion size to have some for leftovers. They always provide quick, amazing service and the take away is great as well. The Thai Iced tea is a must when you come and the spring rolls are a great addition. This is by far my favorite Pho restaurant in LA.

First time trying Pho, this place was recommended and it was amazing, the service was great and so was the food!! We orders the mama’s combo and the traditional combo both amazing!! And you can’t go wrong with the wontons

I asked to try a sip of the broth to taste, since I wanted just the vermicelli grill special. Very delicious, and the service was lovely. Definitely will come back again for the food. I wish though they had a place to sit down and enjoy.

The food is 10 stars. Ox tail every time. Meat so tender I am at a loss for words. That's why i only come here. 2/6/25: upon being struck down with a cold I received some of MH's ox tail pho and immediately felt my strength return. Thank you for being SM fambly

This place is good everything you like in fresh hot and ready to go fast. You could use more spice for honey. So make sure you tell me want hot hot hot hot spectacular.

If you're looking for delicious and authentic Vietnamese food in Long Beach, Mama Hong is a must-try. This family-run restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, all bursting with fresh flavors and traditional herbs. I personally recommend the pho the rich broth and perfectly cooked noodles are pure comfort food. The portions at Mama Hong are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant itself hasa casual and friendly vibe, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. Be sure to check their hours before you go, as they close a bit early on weekdays.

Always a great place to get lunch. Entrees are hot and fresh. The garlic chicken with noodles or rice is very flavourful and one of my favorite dishes there. The pho is excellent as well. It fills up fast, so give yourself some time for lunch. It is also a little on the loud side when it is busy/full.

Love this place! Anytime I’m in LA and want some good pho or other Vietnamese food I come here. My dad is obsessed with their oxtail pho. I’ve had their pork vermicelli and chicken pho and both are excellent. Prices might be a little on the higher side for some but I think it’s worth it as long as you aren’t eating here everyday.

I'm a regular customer and especially love the spring rolls with chicken and with ribeye but honestly everything I've had there is very fresh, very tasty, seems healthy and definitely low fat and low sugar. I highly recommend it and i can't wait to try one in the valley where I can sit down

It’s about time I review this place! I’ve had just about everything on the menu. Here is a brief summary of each meal I’ve tried: Pho - The Pho here is solid. I wouldn’t say this is a “Pho spot”, but since it’s the only close place to get Pho in this area I’m not complaining. I prefer the chicken Pho. The broth pairs well with the packet of hoisin and Sambal they provide. Grill combos - I find these meal combos to be the best bang for your buck. You get a large portion, and can even add an egg roll. My favorite would be the Grilled Rib Eye Steak. The Pork chop is also worth a try. Make sure you pair the meat of your choice with the Vermicelli noodles! From The Wok - The Shaken Beef with garlic noodles was really tasty! The tenderloin was perfectly tender. The only veggie in this dish is onion, so you’ll likely want to accompany this meal with a spring roll. The Spicy Garlic Tofu and Chicken variations of the dish definitely warrant a try! Banh Mi - These Vietnamese sandwiches are the safe option when you don’t know what to get here. They won’t disappoint! I loved the Spicy Garlic Chicken Banh Mi. It had a sweet and spicy sauce in a small baguette that wasn’t to thick. Spring Rolls - These are ok. The dipping sauce is key, as they over stuff lettuce in these with a small amount of meat. Other Appetizers - I prefer the Egg Rolls over the Spring rolls. You can get one egg roll with your grill combo, or get 2-4 as an appetizer. The cream cheese wontons are always a hit, however it didn’t come with sweet chili sauce. You may need to request this. The Spicy Salt and Pepper Wings were underwhelming. They were not spicy at all, and didn’t pack a ton of flavor. Mama Hong’s used to have seating, but they moved locations and it’s only to-go orders now. I recommend calling ahead because there is usually a long wait. If your itching for some Vietnamese cuisine in West LA, then this place will tick most of the boxes. I can’t promise you that every meal will blow your mind, but I can assure you there is something on this menu that will make you happy!

March 2024 I hadn't really come across a Vietnamese takeaway before so this was interesting. I ordered a combination of Vietnamese prawns, meats and spring rolls served on rice with salad. It was very tasty!

**This location doesn’t have dine-in, only take out!! Very quick and thoughtful service. The soup base is legit! Feels like no MSG added. Love it. The rolls are relatively average, tasted less herbal. Overall a delightful takeout experience! Will come again when craving for Vietnamese pho!

This place is great! Wonderful staff and delicious food at surprising prices! Started off with the traditional pork and shrimp spring rolls and the shrimp torpedoes (couldn’t resist with a name like that) to share. I got the classic traditional combo beef pho as with sliced steak, brisket, fatty brisket, and tendon in a size LARGE which defeated me with the quantity of it. Also I just want to give a shoutout to the fact that I asked for extra limes and I got this massive bowl of lime wedges. Every other Vietnamese restaurant I’ve been to it’s like pulling teeth to get extra but the staff at Mama Hong’s were so generous right away!

Really delicious! Broth is the soul of pho and this place delivered! I loved both the filet magnon and beef stew. I had leftover beef stew and ate it again today. Still delicious. Super tender. Egg roll was delicious too. Underground parking is 90 mins free with validation. Weird thing was when taking the elevator. When it reached the floor it didn't open the door. We freaked out. Finally open when we pressed the open door button. Never taking that elevator again.

I came cross this place with my Dad earlier this month he the traditional mamas pho and I had fillet pho it was amazing! But this time I came here with my friend created my own bowl fatty brisket pho with an appetizer of cream cheese wontons and the sauce has a kick to it but still tasty!

My favorite banh mi spot in West LA. Came here on a Saturday to grab their banh mi with grilled pork (my fave). It’s takeout only at this location, and located in a plaza. Street parking available. Credit cards are accepted. Our wait was projected to be 10 minutes, but it came out very quickly. The pork is succulent with a slight sweet flavor. You could eat the banh mi in one sitting if you’re hungry, otherwise, there is enough meat for you to cut the sandwich in half to save for a different meal. There is the standard slaw of cilantro/onions/carrots, and it’s a nice crunchy contrast to the meat. Overall, it’s a good spot to grab a quick, tasty meal.

M

The Nem neung (pork spring rolls) are large and have the egg roll in the middle. Cream cheese wontons were incredible. Pork vermicelli noodles were on point. Chicken broth had a hint of ginger and was amazing!

I’ve been in the neighborhood for about five years and love this place. They ALWAYS have great energy, great food, quick service, and great customer service. Tonight, I was hungover and didn’t want to walk three blocks so I made the mistake of ordering through Uber Eats which got royally screwed up by Coco and then the driver who took over from Coco. I called to try and understand what this issue was and they said not to worry, they’d take care of me. So I pulled it together, walked over, and they gave me two orders of Pho, no additional charge, and I was able to walk home before the idiot driver could get to my front door (spoiler alert: he never got there). These dudes are awesome. They didn’t have to do that, but they did and I am super grateful. I rarely use delivery food services and have another reason to order go back to Mama Hongs and one less to use Uber Eats. Thank you.

TAKE OUT ONLY (WestLA.) After a decade at the old Wilshire location, and endless site construction by their landlord, the owner decided to change his operations to take-out only. What perfect timing - then came the pandemic and UberEats DoorDash, etc.. You get the same yummy food, but for pick-up or delivered by your favorite delivery service. For me, it's one the best Pho places around. Authentic and tasty. I like that they know to separate the broth separately from the ingredients. Simply reheat the broth at home/work so that it's nice and HOT (it must be hot!) Then add the ingredients. Their beef/steak is top quality and with generous portions. It's always BBQ'd just right. I love their steak sandwiches, their spicy fried tofu stir-fry noodles and their bun (vermicelli) with crispy Imperial rolls and your favorite proteins. I also love the beef stew with French bread. Not too salty, just right. I usually need 2 toasted French rolls for dipping. I usually order directly through their website, using CLOVER. Choose from WestLA (take-out only), Orange, Burbank.

Broth was amazing. Portion was a bit smaller than I’m used to from other pho restaurants and the chicken was very flavorful but it was cut thin sort of like sandwich meat. I have pho about once a week sometimes multiple times a week… and have been for around 15 years. Would absolutely go again. Also I know chicken pho is kinda like the basic option with all the varieties in Vietnamese cuisine. Also love that you can handpick your meats/broth/veg etc and make it your own. Sometimes there’s a language barrier in hole in the wall crazzyy authentic places. Doesn’t bother me. I’ll eat whatever. But my vegan friends or some with allergies are hesitant that they’ll get an incorrect broth.

We found this place because we were in the area and wanted to find a Lunch spot. We were hoping to sit and enjoy a meal, but unfortunately, the place is just for picking up an order. Originally when I saw photos on here, it showed tables, so that wasn't a good surprise. We ordered vermicelli bowls and they were very flavorful and they give you a lot for your money. We also ordered the guava and pomegranate boba drinks and spring rolls. The drinks were very refreshing, boba was perfect in texture and taste. The spring rolls were another story, probably the worst I've ever had. We asked for the pork spring rolls, and it was filled with lots of lettuce, bean sprouts, some noodles, and a thin flavorless slice of dry 'pork'? The peanut sauce didn't taste fresh and it was very dark in color. But, I would say, the people working there were very kind, quick, and attentive. I hope this will help the place to do better but also to make customers aware of what to expect.

Unfortunately I won't order the pho again as it's the fast food version of pho and not made in the traditional way. I've only tried one other dish so far: the chicken vermicelli with egg roll. The flavor was decent but the chicken was too salty, and I think quite a bit of MSG was used because I got fatigued after eating it. This is a takeout place only.

Ordered the Chicken Pho and traditional combo pho. Chicken pho was ok but underwhelming…. Good quantity of sliced breast meat but it was rubbery and lacked flavor, the chicken broth was bland not flavorful or rich as I had hoped for. Traditional pho was better: good quantity of meat but a little on the dryside, broth has potential to be tasty but possibly a little watered-down. In general, for west-side higher prices it needs more effort…. Broth needs more umami development. And the bean sprouts should be fresher.

L
Lisa Anderson

Pretty disappointing. The steak spring roll was 90% lettuce with a tiny sliver of meat and I don’t know if this was a mistake but, the sauce it was delivered with was literally just vinegar? The Banh Mi was ok but was a bit mayo-heavy and lacking in flavor.

M

Very disappointed they list themselves as a Vietnamese restaurant A restaurant is where you go to get food and be waited on This is to go only no restaurant tables only to go. Not interested in taking hot food 15 minutes to reheat it up at home. Was looking forward to having some good pho soup. I'll be going elsewhere. If they change their name from restaurant to to go I'll be happy to take my review down lol

I have mixed reviews about this spot. There’s a small parking lot at the top of the mini shopping complex with additional parking on the street or taking the ramp down. Service was quick, ordered online and quick pick up. Don’t forget there’s only pick up and zero dine in at this location. Ambience was clean from what I could see. Food Banh mi sandwiches were packed with tofu and chicken. both marination was good but made my stomach extremely sore after, Spicy Garlic Chicken Sandwich $11.95 Spicy Garlic Tofu Sandwich $11.95 Veggie Pho $16.50 Extra Mixed Veggies $2.25 Pho was stacked with veggies but a little bland Pork Sausage Spring Roll $0.00 Pork was extremely dry……….. I don’t think I would come back only because the sandwiches or overall food made my stomach extremely sore…..

I got it delivered. It came very well packed and not too hot to melt the plastic. The issues are first of all it was really pricey, secondly it was smaller than expected, and lastly and most importantly it was very bland. Maybe I got them on an off day but the broth tasted very watered down.

Take out only. It was alright. I ordered the Mama combo. Plenty of meat. Not enough noodles. I honestly have 3-4 scoops of noodles. For $16.50, id find a better spot. I did have enough soup to make a second dish out of. Noodles was kind of stiff. Would i recommend to other people…probably not.

I don’t understand these good reviews. I’ve been there twice and both times it’s been sub-par. They cook the beef to medium well before it even gets mixed with the broth and nothing else stands out as actually decent. Maybe they’re catering to the crowd they think lives around this area? I dunno…to each their own…but I’ll never be back here myself. Give me that red meat that cooks in the broth. Not this ground beef.

We’re staying in Santa Monica beach and decided to go see this place because it has so many good reviews. Starting from the drink menu, they don’t serve any alcoholic beverages, I was looking for a relax time and don’t have this information anywhere on their pages. We ordered a Jasmine tea pot that come to our table almost cold, they “heat” it up and we need ask 3 times for sweetener. We ordered a stir fry combo which come with the noodles not cooked well, sticking to each other, and very little flavor, vegetables are not cooked, we had a order of the traditional pho noodle and it was a little better but not great. This place has a lot of people eating there but I think is more for the price, because it’s cheap than the food itself.

J
Jiasen W

Not sure why my prev review was deleted? Food was very mediocre. No seating. When I picked up my food I watched them make my sandwich. The guy making my sandwich wiped his hands on his jeans and proceeded to pick up all the meat with his bare hands and scoop them into my sandwich. Won't be returning.

I've been coming here forever, and recently I noticed that the shrimp spring rolls only contains 2 shrimp, cut in half to look like 4. I feel like it use to be 4 full shrimp. Especially with the dramatic rise in prices, I just can't accept this even in this economy.

You can’t get good Vietnamese in Los Angeles… and Mana Hong’s is no exception. I really wanted to like it’s, but this visit was disappointing. The tofu bánh mì was just… strange. The glazed tofu didn’t have anything special to it, and the whole sandwich felt off. The spring rolls didn’t have any mint, which took away a lot of the freshness and flavor they’re supposed to have. We also tried the steak bánh mì, and it wasn’t great either—mostly sauce with almost no actual flavor from the meat. Overall, nothing tasted balanced or memorable. I expected much better.

had to call out the terrible service. the young man who handed me my pickup up order was extremely rude and roughly handed the food over. he gave an aggressive look and forcefully insisted “everything” in the bag. came home to realize they skimped us and forgot sauces (which is what i was asking for). i feel bad for this kitchen. would have loved to tip- if only they understood how far a smile and a listening ear could go. if you can afford to have it delivered, do it… the vibes here are horrid

Not one to usually complain but the customer service at This place was the worse I’ve ever had. My friend and I Spent $100 on food and over half the order was missing and the other half was damaged so couldn’t eat anything. The manager stated he’d remake the food multiple times then said he needed to speak to another manager who has the day off and to cb. Once we called back he said it was unfortunate and weird so he wouldn’t remake it then hung up. Uber only refunded $8 and we haven’t been able to get ahold of them through phone, email or the app. Both appetizers were missing The plastic bowl the food comes in had a crack which I noticed after I poured the broth in bc it leaked all over the kitchen floor. I ordered ribeye along with my shrimp pho and never got it. My friend ordered pho as well and the paper bowl was basically empty bc the broth was in the plastic bag. We were not rude or disrespectful and the guy said he’s not losing his job over fixing our order when we were going to inconvenience ourselves to go pick it up since Uber wasn’t replying.

I've only been here once, so my review can't be representative of their good work. But for the time I was there I was disappointed. It was a Monday evening and it wasn't too busy at all. Despite that, my pho took a long time to come out. The people that got seated after me got their food before me. The waiter didn't apologize or explain why it took so long. When my food came out, the broth was salty and not to my liking at all. The portion is relatively small compared to other Pho places I've been to in Alhambra or Westminster.

Take out only. Pretty bad "Vietnamese" food. It's quite Americanized. All I could taste was salt. The workers here are pretty friendly tho.
