Did I just walk into an old Martin Scorsese flick? The bar feels like a bowling alley should somehow be attached to it and the whole place feels like a commercial for a 1980's Detroit suburb restaurant/bar - but the food... The FOOD! Yeah, I waited almost an hour for my plate to arrive - and after the first bite, I would have happily waited another hour! Listen, I've been to all the fancy, pretentious, fine-dining restaurants - you can keep 'em. This plate of food was unbelievably good. I thought the first bite was a fluke! I mean, it's pasta, sauce, chicken and cheese - it can't be that good right!?!? But the second bite, and the third...and now I'm mopping up every last bit of sauce possible to shove into my unworthy and eager face... Just absolutely amazing and highly highly recommend to anyone who wants a real deal, no holds barred, old school, probably made by Nana in the kitchen, Italian dinner.
We had an overnight in Westfield, NY and our rental host suggested Calarco's. It was right next door to where we were staying, making it super convenient. And the food was really good. Great hospitality too. Plus, the restaurant is about to celebrate 91 years in business! Worth the stop if you're in the area.
Great little place for supper. Staff were friendly.
Good food nice atmosphere, they were very busy as we arrived about645 pm
Calarco’s is our family’s favorite restaurant, we love all the Italian dishes and the Cole slaw is the best we have ever had anywhere. Prices are very reasonable as well. We love it.
We had a very nice experience here. We had a reservation for 6:00 pm and were immediately seated. Our waitress (Jen) was very attentive and answered all our questions regarding the menu. We ordered (spaghetti with sausage and salad, ravioli with the soup) and were served the salad and soup very quickly. The soup was delicious and the salad was very nice. Our entrees followed at an acceptable time. I will say the sauce was a tad sweet for my taste but hubby really liked it. We were approached by the owner who wanted to make sure we were happy and asked if we needed anything. We will definitely return and recommend Calarco’s to friends!
On my trip back east my guy and two close friends had dinner here. Everything was perfect. Wonderful waitress was very accommodating where my food allergies were concerned. As well as very pleasant and good at her job. The food was delicious. I wish we had a satellite restaurant here on the Oregon coast. I will go back on my next trip to that area.
The eggplant parmesan was the BEST I've ever had! Our waitress, Val, made everything so special for us. Very attentive, friendly and even took photos of my husband and me when our food came. We can't wait to go back when we're in the area again!
A hidden treasure in Westfield, located off Main Street(Route 20). Fourth generation owned business, nice cozy atmosphere. The portions are nice and large, compared to other places, and the staff is so friendly and courteous, making sure our wine and drinks were kept full. I had the eggplant Parmigiano with spaghetti, oh my.....fabulous!! The bread is fresh and homemade, and the chocolate pecan pie is tremendous!! We are returning again to enjoy their homemade meals, locally owned!! P.S. The coleslaw is so good, we ordered a container to take home with us, you will love it, freshly made!
Nice family run restaurant. The Italian dishes are very good. The Lake Erie perch is great. The New Orleans Chicken Pasta is great too. A small thing but if the daylight balance lights which have been mixed in could be swapped to match the warm white lights it would improve the atmosphere. Easy parking.
We went there as all the the other things were closed at 8! This was the place that remained opened! It’s a small restaurant and bar with plenty of sitting area and we ordered pizza and garlic breadsticks from here as didn’t find many vegetarian options. It looked like a happening place in a small town! The server was good, she asked twice if we were taken care of and the owner was there too he made sure someone took our order. Food although I would say could have tasted better, I have had better pizza and garlic bread. But I am grateful that they served as at the time when every other thing was closed.
The coleslaw was like OMG awesome!!!!!!!!!!! Service is kind of in limbo but it was busy and it really took a while to get our food. The atmosphere of the place was so unique and beautiful in my opinion. The papers that the breads were on were kind of awesome and they're like newspapers with these old different articles that just made it stand out in my opinion. The dishes that we ordered may have taken a little bit longer than expected to get to the table but the presentation was beautiful 😍 I do love seeing the food look pretty on the plate, I take that in and it shows that it was prepared by a certain person that I would like to be handling my foods. Presentation is big so that made up for the time it took but again it was packed when I was there ...
I headed here with my teenage kiddo on a Monday night figuring it wouldn't be too busy. It wasn't exactly busy but there seemed to be only one waitress and we waited a long time for just about everything. I got their meatball float, which I just LOVED. I loved the flavor of the sauce and the size, texture and flavor of the meatballs. The bread that came with it was perfectly crispy and chewy. My son didn't like his Chicken Alfredo at all. I had a bite and it had a strong taste that may have been wine? Not sure. I didn't care for it either. We waited quite a while for the waitress to ever come back to give us the bill. When she asked if we needed a box we told her neither of us liked it. She offered to bring him something else but by then all we wanted was to leave.
Food was ok. Service was good but place was dirty and dated. Felt like u went back to the 1930s and not in a good way
We were in Westeren New York for the day, antique shopping. Using Google Maps, we found this little Italian restaurant with some history to it, noted by the images on the wall and dated dacor. The steward was nice and suggested having their sauce with our meals. The sides came out quickly with salad and fresh dinner rolls, which were hot and steamy. But this is where things went south very fast. The almost twenty-five minute wait between our sides and the parmesan was tremendous; with little patrons to show for it. Thinking of the history in this establishment allowed us to then enjoy their family gravy with our meals.
Highly disappointed..do not come here unless you have 1.5 hours minimum to stay because the service is so slow..our waitress never refilled our drinks in 2 hours! She ignored us fully! The food is minor! I'll never come back!
I ordered the large fish got it served this was terrible. It was like Long John silvers. Bones very greasy it was was perch. It was disgusting. We had a party of 4 they all had pasta dishes witch were very well made. Spaghetti, lasagna, chicken Alfredo. Will go back but will never order fish again.
Food was not good. Waited 30 minutes for appetizer and we are still washroom for dinner...it's been 45 more minutes. Absolute TRASH
This place was very filthy. The food had no flavor . The waitress was seen at the bar drinking . The potatoes was bigger than the steak. The bathroom had holes in the wall and there were recepticles with no covers. The rug was dirty. like it hasn't been cleaned in years .The vent was dirty over our table . We asked for lemon water and got just water . Didn't even bring us straws . The menu is not the same as it is advertised online .The celling fans had dust on them. The waitress "Elsie" didn't even give us her name, we had to ask her !!! I had the broiled haddock, almost asked for a magnifying glass to find it on the plate. I didn't get any tartar sauce with my meal. My other half had the sirloin steak, baked potato with "no butter" on it. It was so dry he couldn't eat it. Our bill came to almost $ 70 . In our opinion, it wasn't worth $ 7 . Do yourself a favor, don't go to this restaurant !!! Definitely not worth it !!
