The view was beautiful. We saw Mirror Lake from the parking lot. Castle Cafe closed on July 2020 because of covid-19 pandemic.

I was really thankful for this cafe this summer when we visited while the elevator to the summit was not functioning. It turns out, the trail from the castle to the summit was a tad too much for me and my fear of heights, so it was nice to have a nice safe, indoor place to wait for the rest of my party while they went to the summit. I enjoyed the indoor plumbing and food while I waited!

A must see view. Worth the entry fee. Make sure it's a clear day and you can see everything including as far as Lake Champlain.

Amazing place beautiful view. The drive up was amazing. Everything about that place was just absolutely breathtaking and I plan on going back again and again . I told all my friend and family and they were intrigued and want to visit aswell. It has also opened up my horizon for other places to visit where one can drive to the summit and enjoy the view. Can't wait to go back !!

This review is for the mountain, not the cafe, since I cannot see where I can review the mountain hike itself. Mountain views from the top are breath taking. You can just sit on the edge of its cliff since there are limited boundaries at the top and just take in the world.

Didn't get to try it as it was standing room only but looked nice, pricey.

The ham and gruyere crossaint is one of my favorite sandwiches ever. And after a hike up, coupled with a cold iced tea, this hits the spot everytime. Bit pricey.

A nice place to stop at the top of the mountain for a souvenir or a bathroom break. The food is nothing to get excited about. Also a nice place to go if the weather is bad outside.

the place needs some updating and they delivered our sandwiches to another couple then placed in front of us to eat...needless to say we asked for new ones.... the C.A.B sandwich was OUTSTANDING !!!!

The food was ok. The chili was clearly microwaved and the coleslaw was a but sour. The atmosphere was obviously great with being on top of the mountain.

Where else can you sit down and have a beer at the top of one of the tallest peaks In the Adirondacks? Limited menu only because of the remote location. The staff was great and the prices very reasonable given the location... on top of a mountain. I will return here for sure!

We stopped here while riding around and decided to visit white face. I think they can definitely upgrade the place a bit. I asked for a beer and the lady at the counter did not know how to pour it from the tap. Nice friendly person though. It was obvious that this was not something that she was used to doing. God bless her.

Best view in NY! Food was a bit disappointing. We had the Chili, not bad, very small cup for $9.50. Not worth it. Pulled BBQ chicken plate with slaw and chips. I wouldn't get it again.

At 4600 ft. You gotta test out your limits. Heart throbing views. Place good for all season depending on your likes, I would caution hiking in winter snow but on other hand a perfect day for lake side activies and sports. Drive to the place is scenic and recommended during fall and spring times to see colorful trees. Perfect place to go with friends and family. If you search you might find a secluded though not too far from town woody cabin to rent, can plan for couple of days. Also, a perfect place for one day visit from around 300 miles radius.

The food was very good and the people were friendly. Took a while to get the food and the place was very disorganized and didn't have things on the menu.

When we visited, the cafe had virtually nothing there. We were so hungry and had looked forward to eating there when we finished taking in the phenomenal view from the top of the mountain. The attached gift shop had a few souvenir things.

Was just there 6/30/2018. Cafe is CLOSED, they were grilling out front. Elevator is closed and there is construction going on. This is listed NO WHERE on their site. The hike was great, but you have to let people know. We planned to have food there, etc.

Was expecting more, kinda run down, with not much of an attempt at a dining/ serving area. I mean it wasnt awful, but more of something you expect to find along the highway or something, it's just on top of a mountain. The castle was cool looking. Oh and the staff were running around heavily flirting with each other lol so yeah

I was here this afternoon. We were just getting a snack before we went back down to lake placid for lunch. I just got an apple. When I unwrapped it, as it was in cling wrap, it was all moldy. We went to tell the lady at the register. We weren't rude or angry. We just told her so that they could be aware and check the rest of the fruit before someone else got a moldy one. They didn't really care or say much. I didn't want another apple because at that point, I couldn't trust it and was grossed out, so I asked if I could get a bottle of water instead to make up for it, since I was told a refund wasn't possible (which is fine..it's just an apple). There was a rude man behind the woman that said "a water is near 5 bucks no I'm not giving you a water. I'll give you another apple...." Then he goes "you can have a CUP of water..I'll give you a CUP". I wish I Icould explain the tone he had. I just walked away. Oh I'll add here that the dumb apple was $2 so I think a $5 bottle of water would help make up for the MOLD but okay. Then while leaving, there was a female employee with a tattoo on her forehead talking on the phone at the desk right outside the "cafe" talking about how much rent she can afford.. On the job .. On the wkrk phone.. For all to hear. This place is so unprofessional and disgusting. Truly a shame for being on top of a beautiful mountain . It really just hurt my mood. Do not recommend. Also got a coffee. Who knows how long THAT was sitting there either :/

The road to get here has a toll on it, and is closed during winter months. The only way up is the $24 (single use) gondola ride from the main lodge.

It was packed full of people that were having a WEDDING on the top of the mountain. The food was terrible and pricey. Bring your own snacks.

FYI- Was disappointed to find out there was a hefty fee to be paid further down the mountain to visit this cafe. We decided not to pay for only a quick lunch while passing through.

It's not worth eating here. Every meal option is essentially $16 and tiny. Drinks are separate, and another $6. Unless you want to pay over $20 a person for the saddest pulled pork/chicken sandwich of your life, it's best to just eat somewhere else.

Not ADA accessible. Wanted to visit the Cafe & use a restroom... but the boy working at the summit stated The only way to there is to climb stairs. So... if you are in a wheel chair and want to pay $20.00 to visit the summit of Whiteface Mountain... you cannot get to an accessible bathroom, or enjoy a hot chocolate at the Cafe.
