Was pretty empty on a Sunday but we still enjoyed ourselves. Had a great bartender and good drinks. The outdoor seating was nice but it was too chilly to sit outside. Great place to start your walk down the street full of bars and eating establishments.
Stay Put ATX is such a fun and welcoming spot — and they’re super dog friendly! 🐶💛 We loved being there with our furry babies. The place has great music, awesome vibes, and different seating options for every mood, whether you want to chill inside or enjoy the open-air patio. They also host amazing vendors on the first Friday of every month, so there’s always something new to discover. Definitely check their social media to stay updated on sports, live music, and other events — they always have something going on! Can’t wait to be back soon for more good times, great people, and wagging tails 🐾🍺
Such a fun place to visit on our trip. Emma was such an amazing bartender that went out of her way to make sure my family (14 yr old girl and birthday pup included) had a great time! Next time we’re in town will be totally be coming back. Penny says thank you for making her 4th pup birthday great!!
Probably best place on Rainey Street, more like the OG that made the area's name from the 90's. Expanded but retains nice character. Good beers, the Ginger beer is great for any designated driver, or just a delicious soda substitute. Pool, darts, dog friendly patio.
Really great beer and cocktail spot on Rainey. This is definitely alot more chill, easy paced, and even a great date night. Large space, inside and outside areas, good truck , and great service. They have The Boot for beers. I really like this spot. It's easy more easy going and suggest you try it out. We'll definitely be back!!
The Stay Put is a laid-back brewpub on Rainey Street in Austin, offering house-brewed beers, draft cocktails, and a dog-friendly patio. Housed in a restored 1920s bungalow, it features communal tables and a relaxed atmosphere. The menu includes a variety of beers like the “Space Coyote” hazy IPA and cocktails such as the “Passion Fruit Margarita.” While some patrons appreciate the ambiance and drink selection, others have noted that prices can be on the higher side. It’s a solid spot for casual drinks, especially if you’re in the area and looking for a pet-friendly venue.
I visited here for the first time the other day. I went for the Barks for Beers event. I had the Talking Dog Session IPA. 🐕 🍺 The beer was really nice. I like the atmosphere here and the bartender was friendly. They are dog friendly and have nice outdoor seating areas, and provide dog water bowls and water for your dog. Street parking is limited, and garage parking is pretty pricey. So, if you make it out here, spend some time enjoying the area.
One of the newest brewery additions in town, but already making great beer. Somewhat limited, but well rounded options (think pale ale, one hazy IPA, etc., not milkshake stouts or sours). Fair prices for the Rainey / bar setting. Lots of shaded outdoor space. Cool surprise for this part of downtown.
Best IPA in all of Texas. Brewed in house. Definitely worth the trip. Not a drop left.
#1 bar to kick it on Rainy St! Ian and Greg mix the best drinks and supply the best vibes! Great place to play some pool with coworkers after a long week. Always looking forward to coming back!!
Excellent service excellence drinks dog friendly they lit up the fire for us. Cigar friendly, free food on Mondays... You cannot miss if you Stay Put. (If you appreciate excellent traveling cooking videos please visit cuisineQuest on youtube!)
Great new addition to Rainey, an awesome brewery with a cocktail-bar too. Plenty of seating, very cool outdoor space in this clean-cut lodge space. The enthusiastic staff was probably the best part of the visit, plus the thumbs-up to their brews. Just hoping they will add a beer-flight to the menu; yes, I will return.
Our new favorite spot in Austin. They have their own brews, they're all good. We especially love the ginger beers and mules. The place is cool. Themed after west texas, all the beers are named for westerns and spots out west. Love the starlight theater picture, we ate there in terlingua a few weeks ago. This is a must if you're in the area.
New bar on Rainey st offering house draft beers brewed on premise, in addition to some locally brewed beers from nearby local breweries. Big long sitting bar, plenty of tables inside and nice outdoor patio.
Cool spot on Rainey St. with good beers and fun staff. Three areas to choose from to chill - out back outside, inside or out front out side. Seating, TVs & a fire pit in front where we sat but the noise/music from other places on the street overpowered the game that was playing at Stay Put. Would come back but maybe not sit out front. There were games to play so we played cards while enjoying a beer.
I was up the street trying to get an idea of what Austin was all about. I saw that they had very high reviews so I ubered over here. I just want to say that this is the best bar that I have been in In Texas. Not only did I receive a very friendly welcome from the moment I walked in but I also was given a hand written list of the best restaurants to take my significant other to. They have very good beer and mixed drink options but the staff will be what wins you over. Please give this spot a visit.

Bartender made me feel like a local!

I've been here multiple times, and it's just a great neighborhood bar with good people. The in-house beer is solid, not great but I appreciate the deals on happy hour. Cocktails are pretty good, and I've loved some of the more experimental stuff Eric and Greg cook up. But really, it's not mind-blowing. I just like the people and the vibe 😊. They did me a solid when I moved here and recommended a ton of other places to try, including bars they compete with. They take InKind. They do a Monday free cookout for the community, and Greg can cook some great food 😋. Seriously, consider serving food if it's possible, the food trucks out this way are a bit dire. They have a solid happy hour. It's just the kind of place you should support because you should give back to it what it gives to you. Yes Google Maps, it's still good. Just a really solid local institution. Watch the games here, hang out, have a good time. I wish the menu changed more often, but I'm a novelty chaser, it's great doing what it does
We're in Austin during the snowpocalypse and this place is freaking awesome. Dude behind the bar deserves a raise for his heroic efforts!
This is one of my favorite local spots and one of the few places I go to on Rainey. Every bartender I've met is super nice and patient. They rotate their beer selection which allows me to try new things each visit. Their patio has plenty of seating and a great spot to enjoy a nice day. Love this place!
One of the houses converted to a bar on Rainey st. Brewery plus cocktails. Cool atmosphere, indoor outdoor areas to hang

Awesome brewery bar. Definitely recommend!! Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and a really nice outdoor area. Very clean, in an amazing location. My favorites are the very malty Peggy amber and midnight rapture porter. I had all their beers and they're all fantastic. Awesome pricing (especially during happy hour) Only took off one star because I hope to see more brews, and it wasn't immediately obvious it was a brewery on Google maps. For the owner/manager, highly suggest changing the Google maps title to include "brewery" somewhere as well. Maybe along the lines of "The Stay Put - Brewery/Bar". Love looking around locally for craft beers, and this wasn't immediately obvious as a craft brewery. The bathroom situation is interesting, but clean. Definitely think the light in the restrooms should be brighter. Not a fan of the crypto promotion, though. Stay away from that. The head brewer, Zach, is really cool. Knows what he's doing. Super friendly :)

This guy is on a straight power trip freaked out putting hands on us cause we came through the back entrance after our hotel told us it’s cool….. like take your man bun somewhere else and calm down. Definitely went to the 1000 other food trucks cause your bartender was whacked out!’n 10/24
