I have been traveling this beautiful country the last two years doing reviews. After thousands of miles and millions of hits on my reviews I have found a restaurant that gets me. It is not easy traveling with a allergic reaction to wheat, barley, and rye. (Aka Gluten) The way I have to interview staff and be careful to not have an allergy reaction is tough traveling so much at times. Then I visited Urban Flats in Winter Garden, Florida. The small town charm of cobblestone streets, lights in the trees, fountains, swings, a water fountain that changes lights, and narrow streets gives this restaurant unique charming atmosphere. As I walk in I see two very colorful beautiful guitars that I find out they had live concerts of local artists coming in before covid hit. These two specific guitars were in a auction but were given to the restaurant. The wait for a table was short and they gave me a booth right next to see views of the courtyard which was nice. This is a family owned business that use to be a chain the family bought out and doing well. The fine dining and atmosphere is very hard to beat on your next date, family get together, or night out. I have to give a shoutout to my server John who was absolutely the best server I have had to date. He was very tentative and was properly trained to anticipate his guest needs. I was very impressed and my worries of getting an allergic reaction fast squashed with my servers knowledge and guidance over the gluten free menu. He steered me toward the Hawaiian bbq chicken, flatbed but first I had to try the tomato basil bisque. The tomato basil soup was very flavorful and the best I have eaten with home cooked potato chips. Wow it was good. That soup started my taste pallit. Then the Hawaiian bbq flatbed comes. It was more than just a flatbed but a whole pizza. Yes a whole gluten free pizza. As you can see in the pictures it was delicious as well. So simple but bursting with flavor. The other meal was a Turkey club sandwich with salad. After having the best meal ever with a glass of wine I thought it couldn't get any better but it was wrong. John told me about the gluten free molten lava chocolate cake cooked to order. Oh my word ! It was so hot and gooey! The cake was filled to perfection with vanilla bean ice cream and special coffee sauce to boot. I was in heaven eating the hot lava cake. Hot, sweet, cold, chocolate, cake, ice cream, and coffee taste. I have to say this is my favorite restaurant in my travels that has a full meal for my allergies. It is rare to get gluten free desserts. So, if you are ever in Orlando or area this is a must visit. You will not be disappointed. Tell them I sent you too.
Just amazing! I went to Urban on Plant on a recommendation for a good burger. It was more than just good!!! Not only was it a generous and juicy hand formed patty, but the toppings were each primo! And then there are the house-made chips, altogether a number one choice. And as hamburgers go, this beats Dubsdred Tap Room all around!
Not sure how I missed taking a picture of my burger but did take pictures of other plates at my table. Everyone very much enjoyed their food, esp me! Service was fantastic too. We went outside to finish our drinks & listen to the band play & the manager was nice enough to tell us who the band was & all. Exceptional experience!
We (my wife, young son, and I) just dined here for brunch and it was amazing. The food was excellent. We had the Shrimp and Grits, Avocado Toast, and Cinnamon Roll. All were items that we would order again. The service provided was also great. Our server was very attentive and the GM, Jane, stopped by to chat more than once. We found this restaurant to be a very welcoming one! We would have come back for the food alone, but the service means that it will now become a regular place for us!
Let's start with Jessica, our server. She was extremely patient, sweet, and attentive. We asked for coffee, and we were told that the milk steamer was broken. Needless to say, we were put off. Jessica went took our iput and came back with delicious coffee. Fast forward to later, she mentioned the machine was indeed not broken as she was told and asked if we wanted another cup. We were surprised as she did not have to tell us. The second cup was even more delicious, as was the rest of the food. Her attitude was incredibly sweet and contagious. We appreciate great service, and Jessica exemplifies that to a T. We recommend this spot when you are in Winter Gardens.
First time visiting this restaurant and absolutely loved it! (Went at a time that it wasn't too busy so I'm also taking that into account) The food, atmosphere and service were all great! We had the teriyaki salmon spring rolls (delicious) and bruschetta to start. For main entrees, fresh fish tacos with house-made chips and bulgogi tacos with the same. The drinks were a glass of prosecco and a glass of white sangria (mango flavor). Definitely loved everything and will be visiting again!
Good overall restaurant in the heart of Winter Garden. Excellent service would bring me back here. Great selection of shareable starters. Portions were generous. Service was attentive to drink refills and removing dishes. Inside was cool on a scorching day. Lots of outdoor dining but not for me until it's more temperate.
What a great lunch! My family and I enjoyed all of our lunches. Everything here is fresh and high quality. The tuna tacos are chock full of fresh fish. The Bulgogi tacos are tender and tasty. Try the chips, wings, or salads. They are all delicious. The baretender is terrific. Urban on Plant is in a historic building and has lots of historic charm. We've been here more than once and the experience is always the the same. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere.
Very expensive but great quality urban themed city food. Kinda hipster vibe cusine and atmosphere. Great jazz and soul music in the background when I was there. Depending on your taste in food. Its kinda worth the price. The quality was definitely deserving. Lots of plant based options although I am a meat eater. Christina was my waitress. Very professional and excellent service. Hottest was inviting aswell.
This place really turned our night around after another local place was rude and dismissive due to their recent viralty. We were seated right away and our server Bobby and everyone who stopped by the table were super friendly and attentive. The service, atmosphere and food were fantastic. I visit this area somewhat frequently and I'll be sure to make this place a staple.
Katrina took amazing care of me today at Urban on Plant! She was friendly, fast, and on top of everything from the moment I sat down. The food came out perfect, the drinks were spot-on, and she made the whole experience even better with her great attitude and attention to detail. You can tell she genuinely cares about her customers. If you come here, definitely ask for Katrina—she’s the best! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
So good! Our server Claudia was awesome! We had the flatbread, very thin and delicious, tomato bruschetta which was SOOO good and not to mention the espresso martini!! Yum yum yum! You have to go !
The Korean tacos were fantastic. The side chips with the Korean sauce drizzle was a excellent choice. We also loved our white sangria. Wayne the manager was fantastic. We had a incident that i will not elaborate on. With a employee. But Wayne handled it with professionalism. And we whole hardly recommend this establishment. Thanks Wayne and Daniel.
Dinner last night with friends to check out the new menu. Absolutely fantastic! Had the Brussels sprout appetizer that was the best and then the pasta ala vodka that was superb. The new owners are killing it!
The food here has always been delicious and full of flavors. The Korean bulgogi tacos are very sweet and have Korean BBQ sauce on then they weren't my favorite bulgogi I have had and to sweet for my taste, but not bad. The sirloin steak was delicious, flavored great, as well as the baked chicken. We have been here before and enjoy it. The Sangria's are great, try the seasonal ones. The appetizers were good, we had the artichoke dip and the Bruschetta is ALAWYS so fresh and yummy!
It was my first time dining at Urban on Plant this evening and I will definitely be back! The service was very friendly and professional, the food took an adequate time to arrive, as it must be cooked fresh to order. We had the Nashville Hot Chicken, the Onion Smash Burger and the Truffle Burger. All 3 were delicious! The spice level on the chicken was spot on, and fried perfectly crispy. Go give this place a try and enjoy a stroll around downtown Winter Garden after!
Great little Gem in Winter Garden. Our table had the salmon BLT with the side salad, and the Smashburger with fries. Both were delicious. The salmon BLT I ordered without the bacon. The salmon was seasoned perfectly. Loved the pescatarian version! We were addressed within a few minutes of being seated, and our meals came out pretty quickly for a busy lunch. We had a combination of servers due to shift change and both were wonderful. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Selections on the menu were great and the vibe was perfect. We were really happy with our choice to sit on the outdoor patio.
We loved the food and atmosphere! The menu had a great selection and the staff were so friendly. Meatloaf, potatoes and beans were delicious. The crab cakes and pretzel bites were great starters as well. Excellent wine selection too! Will definitely be back.
We found this on google maps and took a leap of faith and it was fabulous! Service was 10/10 and the food recommendations from our server did not disappoint. My favorite was the roast chicken and green beans. Every single bite was filled with flavor and it was so moist. The green beans were buttered and seasoned to perfection- and I am not usually a fan. Portions are large and we left full and happy! It was $110 for 3 adults including tip. Not cheap but the food quality was worth every penny.
Me and my Girlfriend stopped in for my birthday today because we seen some people having nice drinks outside and the atmosphere looked great. We had a short 15min wait , We ordered the jerk chicken and a half of a flatbread pizza to share both 10/10 and filled us up. We ordered the Blushing ballerina and a spring cooler to drink both great. We also had a nice server that made sure everything was how we wanted , We definitely recommend stopping in here!
Ordered a few items to sample and couldn't choose which to finish off, they were all so good! We mentioned being vegetarian, and our waitress Jessica was able to provide us with different options. We decided on trying the Shakshuka, BBQ Hawaiian flatbread (without bacon and chicken), and mushroom mac and cheese. Don't know if I can choose a favorite!
last visit: sept 1st, 2024 closer to a 4.5 than a 5, but I'm giving 5 stars anyway.. food's not like "..holy cow, this is awesome!!" it's like, "not bad, would try this place again".. our server tom was nice guy.. kinda felt like he's new to serving (confidence or tone? maybe he's the shy type) but he's okay, touched table once or twice.. portions are big enough to share, except for the edemame and the bowl of soup.. otherwise everything kinda felt upsized! (had my food to go) good place to have friends over for drinks.. parking can be a challenge since it's winter garden, afterall.. i can't recommend anything specific.. it's not like ava where one could spend 400 for lunch! but if you want to get tipsy with class, this place great!
Brunch date with a friend, and we had the bruchetta appetizer. It was very good. The turkey sandwich was my dish. I absolutely loved it. The toasted roll it came on was so good, and the turkey was shredded, which I liked. It was paired with a side Greek salad complete with feta crumble and olives. My daughter had grilled chicken skewers, which were a perfect size. They open at 1130 most days and have great seating, bother indoor and outdoor options. Clean establishment.

This place is a solid local restaurant. We frequent Urban for the cozy atmosphere, great food always and our favorite server, Bobby! Thanks for making our night. We love how it’s chill and not loud like other spots. Tonight we got bruschetta, Brussel sprouts, the smash burger and French dip. I forgot to take pictures lol but the food is always well made. Don’t miss out on the waffle bread pudding!
I come here at least once a week: both the bar area and the dining room. I personally love the edamame for the appetizer, the meatloaf for the main entree, my husband loves the turkey club with greek salad and has it every time. They have a decent list of wines; and also make good cocktails. Right now, since it is so cold: they make a great Irish coffee (whiskey, coffee, cream). Yum! This place is popular! with regulars (locals) Make a reservation! When weather is nice: sit on one of the two patios! Good people watching!

Always a phenomenal experience in Urban. The menu is very simple and delicious. Their salad vinaigrette is absolutely perfect. We love to visit everytime we can go to Winter Garden.

It was Sunday night and I was by myself. It seemed to be a quiet night for them. I ordered the Blackberry Lemonade and the Shakshuka. My Bourbon drink came out relatively quick, as the bar was full of people. It was a perfect blend of flavors. Now, my sister has Shakshuka often, so I decided to try it. It was ok, for me. It did not look like the egg was cooked in a depression in the tomato mix. But, the egg center was still runny, so that was good. It was a bit over spicy for me, so I took it home for the family. Instead, I ordered the Roasted Beet Salad. When it arrived, I was a bit shocked. I thought there would be more beets and be more of a beet salad with arugula, not the other way around. The beets were also hot, not cold as I expected. The flavor of the beets was good and the arugula with goat cheese and roasted pistachios was very tasty. I would definitely order it again, even though it wasn't what I expected. Overall, I will probably come back to try other things.
We enjoyed our meal here on a busy Friday night. Service was a little off, appetizers came but plates took a few minutes. Drink refills were offered by (assumed) manager but not communicated with server. Everyone was pleasant. They just seemed short handed. Food was great, we will try them again.
Our waiter Noah was super friendly and very attentive to all of our needs. Drinks were on point and food was served hot and in reasonable time. I highly recommend their Edamame appetizer and their virgin Watermelon Basil Cooler was Fire!! Must haves! We also had the Salmon Teriyaki spring rolls, tried almost all of the flatbreads, new England clam chowder, and pretzel bites. Planning on going back for their Shrimp & Grits!
This was a solid spot and I would definitely recommend to anyone in the Winter Garden area. We stopped in after the Farmers Market because the wait was decent and it was ultimately, a pleasant surprise. We asked for outside seating (the day was beautiful) and received something in a nice shaded area that still received good sunlight towards the side of the building. It was great because that section doesn't get a lot of foot traffic, so it wasn't super chaotic. The staff was incredibly nice and super attentive. We ordered the Teriyaki Salmon rolls to start and they were phenomenal. Very flavorful and they didn't taste like they were frozen in a freezer. We loved how fresh it felt. For entrees, we ordered the Breakfast Burger and the Shrimp and Grits. The Burger had good flavor and was tasty but just a bit overcooked. The shrimp and grits were incredibly flavorful and super filling! The portions were really good for the price points. Overall, I would definitely go back and highly recommend!
Great food and great service at The Urban in Winter Garden. The Urban serves fantastic fresh food, hip fresh cocktails, and has an up-scale casual bar. I very much enjoyed the Ahi Fish tacos, soups and salads. The menu is well thought out with a variety of classy dishes that are reasonably priced. The staff are friendly, knowledgable and professional. Centrally located along a long row of very cool joints and night spots. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but well worth the effort. Bring your friends to The Urban and enjoy!
Absolutely loved the meal I had here. First favorite is the fully separate gluten free menu! The portions are large and perfect for sharing or taking home. Crystal was our server and was so kind and attentive. They were busy but understaffed. Despite this they did their best to make sure everyone had everything they needed in a timely manner

Great location and friendly staff, but subpar food. After thoroughly investigating good American restaurants in the area I found myself here for a family dinner. Reservations can be made in advance over the phone. For appetizers, the mushroom mac and cheese was good but very salty, and the Mediterranean flatbread while tasty was more like a pizza (heavy toppings). As for entrees .. The chimichurri beef was ordered as medium well but came predominantly raw, and the flavours weren't satisfying. The fish tacos were super underwhelming, not having a good sauce base, not enough veggies, and the corn tortillas were simply undercooked and quickly turned soggy. The Moroccan lamb was ok but had a small meat portion for the high price. For their signature urban salad, they ran out of spring mix and gave us romaine lettuce instead (we were told in advance) which made the salad unexciting and basic. The pastrami sandwich came with lots of meat and the dips were good, but it was extremely salty. Drinks were high price and ok. Overall, I personally wouldn't dine here again, but would perhaps come for just drinks and apps.
Food was good prices were reasonable. Service was very slow my daughter and I waited almost 25 minutes after we were seated for the server to even acknowledge we were there. They weren't even busy very slow.
We had a great server! She was very kind and attentive. The food was only mid. Had the chicken and waffles sammy. The waffle and potatoes had definitely been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time and were not crispy. Both were chewy and tough. The chicken was not very crispy and very tough and over cooked. Seasoning was very good though.

Nice place and good food. I went last Friday night at the very busy time of 7:30 pm. My waitress in the main salon was simply careless. One of our appetizers to share came with only 4 little pieces of bread but with a good portion of the dish, then we asked for more bread which they bring 20 minutes later, they charged us 5.00 extra for 3 little more pieces of bread. Charging for this is like charging for water! Simply, lack of common sense. Then the waitress totally forgot to order the kids food bringing adults food first. Finally when my son's get his food 20 minutes later, she also forget to honor our instructions. The atmosphere was nice but service for us was horrible. Food is overall good but cold and with lack of common sense in some cases. I noticed that they had more people cleaning than serving in my area. Im pretty sure that my experience could be much better without the careless and unprofessional (young female) waitresses... Sorry guys but this is the truth!
Bartender was lovely. Drinks were ok, ish. Disappointed in the food. Purchased the Turkey, brie, honey and mustard flatbread. The dough seemed old. The sauce was it honey and mustard. It was honey mustard. To me that is not the same. Too sweet. Wrong flavor, for me personally. It was more the taste of the flatbread itself.
We had one of the three tables streetside on the sidewalk, enjoying the gorgeous outdoor lights. Beef medallions with blue cheese on top was good, fish tacos were ample but not full of flavor. The food was good, not great, but the atmosphere was what we paid for. If we had eaten indoors we would have been disappointed for the price. There is a side patio but it's just an alley, not an attractive view.

There is a side patio but it's just an alley, not an attractive view.

Disappointing- this restaurant has gone downhill in the last few years. The potatoe appetizer is the best on the menu -rest is just “eh”. greek salad : 1 cherry tomatoe, 2 slices cucumber res…
Very atmosphere, but maybe they should stay away from seafood. Definitely don’t order the blackened grouper what ever you do! It did not look like grouper, did not taste like grouper, did not have the texture of any fish I have ever eaten. It was extremely thin and rubbery - was so bad I did not eat anything past the first bite. My sisters shrimp from the shrimp scampi smelled bad also.
To be fair we went during the Christmas weekend events so they might have been off their game. Sat outside, covered, watched the golf cart parade. Cool ambiance. Had to ask multiple times for a kids menu. The food… all the sides were great! Whipped sweet potatoes, roasted potatoes, brussel sprouts, chips… all great. The steak was a little over cooked, but totally flavorless. The pork chop was way over cooked. Couldn’t cut it. I didn’t get to eat. Our server never came back after dropping the food off… other than to bring me a knife. Didn’t ask how the temps were. She did have it taken off bill but no manager came to talk to us. Disappointed.
Bulgogi tacos were not good :-( too much sauce slopped on top of everything- including the chips. Chips is an odd side pairing for this dish to begin with, and the fact that the sauce is on those too is even weirder. Salmon was very fishy and unseasoned. The seasonal salad was good.

Would give 0 stars if allowed. Will never attempt to go back. Went in on a Monday evening for drinks and apps, as a party of 6, at 5p. The bar was full, 1 person sitting g at a hightop that seats 1…
Nasty manager on 6/30 who did not know how to deal with a busy night. Extremely rude to talk about waiting guests in front of them as if they were an inconvenience to your night rather than the peo…
From the moment I arrived, the experience was frustrating and disappointing. The manager was dismissive, rude, and completely uninterested in resolving issues that were clearly caused by staff mistakes. Instead of listening or taking responsibility, they spoke in a condescending tone and made excuses rather than offering solutions.
TOP 3 WORST EXPERIENCES I’VE EVER HAD…. the highlight was the host, Gino. he was kind. everything else a nightmare. we had 8 of us, in total. we got there at 2p. which was when brunch ended. they were nice enough to give us that courtesy but we didn’t care to have brunch. i ordered my brunch meal to get it in, in time & then we waited another 20 minutes for everyone else to order. my pregnant fiancée was starving… i really thought she had ordered with me and felt so bad she wasn’t eating with me. as i got my brunch food. the Brisket Hash with eggs. it came out cold….. no problem, sent it back and got a hot plate 10 min later. my fiancé gets her burger & it’s not the temp she ordered… and not seasoned at all. the price tag for the food has to be the area & not the quality OR taste of the food…. we had to ask the host stand for utensils & for our checks. my friends weren’t as upset about their experience but no one wants to come back. the manager did nothing to make our experience better & our server never introduced himself but he was training a new hire to shadow him. do the opposite of what he did. the place was not busy at all… do NOT recommend. go to Hangry. - GTB
