Sitting at the edge of a runway, it is definitely like taking a step back a few decades. A little dark and a little pricey but the food is solid and service is great. I wasn’t fond of most of the menu selections but had a pilots burger and it was delicious. Ordered some fries to go with it and paired with a nice cold beer. In A Gadda Da Vida played on the sound system so I enjoyed the visit.
We visited Yucca Valley to explore Joshua Tree, and The Copper Room was the absolute highlight of our trip. As musicians, we are picky about live music, but the local band, The Melancholy Babies, were phenomenal! They perfectly captured a 1930s vibe that made the whole room feel like a step back in time. They even played "our song," The Very Thought of You," which made my birthday feel so special. The food was Michelin-star quality with a beautifully curated menu. We started with the Ahi Crudo (sublime) and the Peanut Noodle Salad with a Hanger Steak Skewer (the fresh herbs and lemon were to die for). As someone who is gluten-free, I was thrilled to find they have GF Panko substitution for their Chicken Cutlet. This was paired with the goddess salad (fennel, preserved lemon, and anchovies), it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The staff was wonderful and attentive throughout the night. While my husband’s secret request for a birthday surprise was missed, the incredible food, dancing, and community atmosphere more than made up for it. It's off the beaten path, but was packed even on a Tuesday night. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation.
Excellent evening of jazz and good food! Fabulous musicians, and classics dishes with a slight Asian twist (furikake on the spinach artichoke dip.... Yes please! Going to be copying that one!) Miso caramel with the Basque cheesecake... Sublime! Great cocktails too! Very fun evening!
Excellent old world charm with modern flavor profiles while still keeping that supper club vibe that kept Frank Sinatra coming back. Loved the food and it had an excellently curated cocktail menu with some truly unique picks. Would love to come back when live music or a DJ is on because the vibes are immaculate!
Someone local recommended this restaurant to me and it was definitely worth it. The ambiance was very nice, although it was a bit difficult to get a table. The food was amazing, the staff were kind, and the crowd was in a fun party mood since we went on a Friday. The broccoli was super tasty, and the burgers were great too. It also seems to be a trendy place.
Great dark and classic atmosphere. Two dining rooms - one in the back and one in the front which includes the bar and the airfield views. - Martini 5/5 - Old fashioned 5/5 - Fresh spring rolls 5/5 - Fried chicken cutlet 5/5 (amazing!) - Copper room grilled steak 5/5 (cooked perfectly)
After an early dinner, we couldn't resist heading back later for the live music. Every dish—from the spring rolls and shishito peppers to the Thai fried rice—was excellent, and the cocktails and atmosphere really hit the mark.
We ordered the spring rolls and cucumber to start, both were really good but the cheese burger and fries (not photographed) were the stars of the show. Delicious! The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant is really fun, with live music and friendly staff. Highly recommend if you're in JT!
I had the opportunity to dine at The Copper Room, celebrating an anniversary, and it was fantastic! The restaurant is next to the airport so if you're flying in, it's super convenient. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the host, who was extremely friendly and welcoming. She led us to our booth and we started to look around the environment and it immediately felt like a time capsule back to the 70s. The interior design was super old school, groovy, and homey. Onto the menu, we ordered the artichoke dip, which was delicious (make sure you mix it well), the fried rice (very flavorful), and the steak (which had a very smokey and grilled flavor, cooked to perfect medium). For our drinks and dessert, we got a Sicilian soda, The Sky High (an NA drink that tasted nostalgic and like bourbon), and a Miso Carmel Cheesecake. The cheesecake was good and thick but the next time I go, I'd try their br ad pudding. Overall, this was a great experience. The host and server were very helpful and kind, the food was delicious and filling, and the environment was perfect. Shout-out to their music as well, it was beautifully curated to the restaurant ambiance. Check this place out when you're in town!
10/10 must visit! Fantastic service, stories, cocktails and more from John. You really made our night. The chef in the kitchen also really knows what he/she is doing. For everyone deciding if he should go there: do it! The cocktails are incredibly high quality and made with home made ingredients with lots of love. The atmosphere is amazing. Must visit if you are in the area, do it!! Thanks John, till next time!
The Copper Room is nothing short of extraordinary. The ambiance hits on every sensory level, it’s not something you can pin down to just one element. From the minimalist, vintage decor that feels like stepping into a speakeasy-era jazz room, to a menu that keeps things intentionally simple yet perfectly executed, everything feels thoughtful and dialed in. Do not skip the chicken cutlet, an elite menu item and a clear standout. It’s the kind of dish that proves restraint and precision beat excess every time. That same philosophy carries through the bar program: premium ingredients, classic technique, zero shortcuts. When’s the last time your martini came with a sidecar of olive juice? Exactly. They spare no expense here, not in the space, not in the food, and not in the drinks. If you’re looking for old-school hospitality, real history, and genuinely high vibrations in the desert, this is your zone.
Great vibe, some of the best tofu spring rolls I’ve had, wish the green goddess salad didn’t have anchovies in the dressing as a Vegitarian. Homemade ginger beer was unreal as well.

Was here with a large group of 12 people, so we ordered virtually every item available on the menu. WOW!!!!!! What an absolute home run across the board… All of these were 10/10: Tomahawk (so tender and flavorful with amazing marbling), Pork Belly (same qualities as tomahawk), chicken lettuce wraps, shishito pepper, spinach artichoke dip (perfect balance of cheesy/with chunks of artichoke in there, YUM!!!), burger, fried chicken cutlet, ahi. The only thing that was “meh” were the fries. Needed salt but that’s fixable. So sad we only had one day in Joshua tree. I’d go back there the next night and might even drive out just for dinner. Wish I took more pics.

Really cool spot. Waitress was super friendly. Burger was good and fresh but would have liked it just slightly larger and with a bit more flavor of the meat. Toppings solid. The view at the bar is crazy! The lemon drink was tasty.
We had one of the best meals of our 20 year marriage at this place on a road trip to the beach. A great surprise out of nowhere! We arrived at 4pm and sat at the bar. This is definitely a reservation kinda spot. We got the waygu steak, the best shishito peppers and chili pickles, Asian salad. We would skip the chicken kabob but thought we’d try it. The drinks were fabulous and everyone was raving about the bartender really knowing her stuff. We hope to be back!
I knew this place existed but I was not aware how wonderful an outing here could be. If you want a classy place for a special date night, here you are. The vibes were perfect. You really got the sense that you were about to have a well crafted meal, some yummy cocktails and get to glimpse how life was like back in the 50s. The good parts. There was live music that sold the whole picture furthermore. Yes, the prices are higher than if you go for dinner at a chain restaurant, that can't be denied. But this is a place for a memorable meal. My husband and I are planning to celebrate our 1 year anniversary here. We think it would be the perfect way to celebrate! Very much recommend stopping here!
Great experience overall! The five spice fried rice was amazing! My wife also loved her crispy chicken lettuce wraps. The atmosphere was fun if a little crowded, but our server took great care of us!

The Copper Room is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, you can feel that this place is a true classic institution, rich with history and character. The food was outstanding—every dish was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The service was just as impressive: attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling rushed. To top it all off, the live band was incredible and really brought the whole experience together, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. The Copper Room isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience. If you’re looking for amazing food, top-tier service, and a place that honors its history while delivering a fantastic night out, this is it. Highly recommend!
Vibe is like an old steak house from the 80s, that was opened in the 60s or 70s. Its like I’ve been transported back in time, to when I would get taken to places like this by my grandparents. But now in some weird (and cruel) trick I am their age. The staff are friendly and Michael is very good at his job. The food is decent, probably not worth the price, but you wouldn’t send it back. The bill on the other hand, annoyed me. Please inform me if I’m wrong. But the bill says - “The Copper Room supports its team with medical benefits for full and part-time employees and a competitive living wage for all staff. We include a 4% restaurant fee on all checks. Which is retained by the restaurant and is not a surcharge, tip or gratuity.” So they tell us they are doing great things for the staff, love it - but then charge us. So you aren’t doing those things. We are. It should be re-worded to say - “We aren’t willing to pay our staff well and give them medical, so we’re going to add a tax to your bill so you can and we’ll take credit for it.”
Such a cute and vibey resturant. Food is definitely solid, however the crispy chicken is sweet and the peanut noodle salad was on the salty side. Overall very nice
Stopped in to enjoy the jazz band that plays every Sunday. We made a reservation earlier in the day, but when we got there, seems they forgot. We were easily seated near the band however. We did not have dinner. Had a couple of drinks that weren't too bad. I was surprised by the plastic water cups. Nice place to check out if you're in the area.

Dinner reservation was easy made via resy.com . We (party of 4) were seated promptly and Hailey was friendly, and willing to please. The deluxe fried rice with char-siu pork, shrimp, and egg was so so (the rice was not dried and stick together, the pork was blah), do not order this as you can get better fried rice at a another Asian restaurant, also the broccolini was a miss as well (the flavor was flat). My wife enjoyed her Green Goddess Salad, however the Tofu Skewers were meh! The Grilled Shishito Peppers were perfectly done and so were the French Fries. I should have stuck to the more traditional items on the menu,
The spinach dip and marinated cucumbers are really good! The cheeseburger had good flavor, but was pretty small and came with no sides for $18. Prices are a bit high in my opinion. A side of fries is $8, so a burger and fries would have been $26. They also wouldn’t add bacon or anything to the burger. I got the gluten free version of the chicken cutlet which was very good as well. A much bigger portion with the salad on top, but still a bit pricey at $30. $3 for a can of coke is also a bit ridiculous. Overall the food is good, but the prices don’t seem worth it.
Great ambience and love the concept of Asian fusion infused menu but wish they could execute on that. None of the food taste particularly good, there is too much of a sour profile that wasn't balanced and we didn't really enjoy the food. I would also say that it's overpriced considering the food wasn't great.
In town for my husband’s birthday and decided to make reservations based off of reviews and location. Took a bit to be acknowledged when we arrived, we were finally seated and the hostess that seated us wished my husband a happy birthday as she had seen it on the reservation. We ordered drinks, the 57 martini, the dusty martini and a margarita. We then ordered the shrimp cocktail, and the shishito peppers . We enjoyed the drinks and appetizers. We then ordered our entrees. The rice with 2 skewers on the side and the steak plate . That was also good. It was like it seemed a pretty slow night, our waiter was kind and attentive. I did notice 2 people get a slice of cheesecake and a candle, and was waiting for my husband to get one as well. But he didn’t. Not sure if they forgot or what? Food and drinks were good, atmosphere a little outdated but makes sense because of the history of it. It was good to try it out.
