Opiniones de NY BUTCHER KANSAS CITY Leawood
Delightful and relaxing! The front is a restaurant and bar, and the rear is a full market and meat shop! What a benefit to this area! We had the time of our life with an incredible dinner, drinks, friends, and numerous visits to our table by the owner whom kept checking on us each time he visited the room! So impressive! The personal attention you receive from the staff and owner is truly and experience all in its own! Ask for your waitress to be "Mariah" and you won't be sorry! She was amazing with her suggestions and never steered any of us in the wrong direction! The steak was outstanding, along with the salmon, salads and pasta! The appetizers of meatballs and wings were phenomenal! The flavors exploded in our mouths! Such an impressive place to eat, or just to have a few drinks! We'd frequent this restaurant often if we lived closer by! Parking is on the street, and some parking in the rear is available!
Best meatballs, best bartenders, best (looking) carry-out fridge full of yumminess and alllll the delicious red wine. Only bad thing is it took me this long to discover it!
We tried New York Butcher Shoppe for the first time and it did not disappoint! Great service, cozy atmosphere, amazing meat case and retail shop along with a menu that has something for everyone. Our server took care of everyone in the dining room and at the bar with a smile on her face and great suggestions for menu items. We had the opportunity to meet the owner who let us know one of their other locations is in Columbus, Ga which is where we grew up! Our similar military backgrounds gave us lots to talk about. Run, don't walk to this new addition to KC and be sure to check out the ready made meals in their cooler along with wine and novelty items in their retail space!
NYBS is a restaurant, market and butcher shop all complimenting each other to make a great experience. The food is amazing w nice sized portions, you’ll have left overs for sure. The staff is fantastic and.knowledgeable about the selections and pairings. The owners/ chefs interact w their guests to ensure the highest quality. You’ll are able to select a drink from their menu or choose a bottle of wine from the market (w no up-charge) to enjoy w your meal. Everything on the menu is great but if you to want grab something from the butcher, they’ll prepare it for you w a small prep fee. The market has premade meals which are easy to prepare at home. NYBS is a must.
Yum. We brought home some Chicken pot pie and, it’s hard to believe such a simple entree is so delicious. We would highly recommend it. Great spot for wine, cheese, meats and even dining in. Great spot.
Wow! Special Thanks to Glenn McDowell. His suggestions are spot on. He described this cut, Teres Major, as lean and similar to filet mignon. I believe it may be better, in my honest opinion, and the wings actually have a healthy amount of meat. We will be back regularly. Glad we finally have a real butcher shop in Kansas City with a real pro to educate us along the journey. Thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself and your products.
WOW. Okay. Listen. Steak frites = unreal. Like… why was it that good?? Steak nailed it. Fries CRONCHY. I’m emotional. Justin Cab?? Dangerous. Smooth. Had me nodding like “yeahhh that makes sense.” Service flawless. Me? Not flawless. Would 100% order this again. Possibly right now. 🥩🍷
First timer, lunch with grandpa, he recommended it, had the brisket sandwich and salad. Extremely pleased with the food and service. I hope they come towards the Olathe area. I'd love to open up one. Totally loved the store side. Picked me up a few things.
Caleb and Glen did an outstanding job. Love the atmosphere, very cozy and welcoming. Got a prime KC strip from the butcher counter. Perfect medium rare cook! Side of fries and mushrooms, shared with two people - plenty of food!! Amazing meal and wonderful service! We can’t wait to come back.
On the Friday night after Christmas, this was the only place in the neighborhood without a 30-minute wait. A shame, because this is a South Plaza gem, and we had a true 5-star meal that stacks up against anything in KC. It doesn't even look like a restaurant from the outside, as it says "Butcher Shop and Wine Bar," but the menu boasts an array of options including anything you can find in the butcher shop prepared fresh. We started with the Brussels sprouts which were divine, sweet and salty and cooked to perfection, and the chicken wings, grill marks outside and soft chew inside with a delightful peanut sauce (that also went with the sprouts) and a creative bleu cheese slaw that worked surprisingly well. For entrees we had the brisket grilled cheese, which according to my friend was "fantastic," and I had the wagyu burger which was well-appointed with mushrooms and guyere. The parmesan fries that accompanied both were thick-cut and evoked nostalgia. We were too full to order dessert, but we did order a cocktail which had the prefect touch of sweetness and is the only cocktail I've seen made with KC's own Rieger whiskey. The bartenders and waitstaff were superb, attentive, friendly, informative. Food came out quickly. My compliments to the service staff. Overall an excellent dining experience.
Not only was the quality of the products superb...the care and attention from the Team was outstanding! Glen, Jesse, Scott and the whole team - you went above and beyond to make our Christmas eve display of food incredible and delicious! Thank you so very much! Gabe
Not just a butcher shoppe, but also an amazing eatery with a deep wine collection that deserves your attention. Burgers are amazing, and the meatball appetizer was one of the best I've had. Portions were very generous and the staff was amazingly friendly and full of recommendations. Even though we came in just as the kitchen was about to close, they kept going just for us. Special shout out to the brussel sprouts I had for my side, they were perfectly crispy. Check this place out!
This was our first visit to New York Butcher Shoppe & Wine Bar, and it was an excellent experience. The food we ordered was delicious and cooked precisely as requested—particularly impressive given that we ordered our steak blue. The chef personally came to the table to confirm exactly how “blue” we wanted the steak prepared, which was a thoughtful touch, especially since this level of doneness is rarely requested. Selecting our wine directly from the racks added a fun and interactive element to the evening. The atmosphere was clean and inviting—minimalist yet comfortable—with a moderate noise level that allowed for easy conversation. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning to try additional dishes and explore more of their meat selections.
This has become one of our absolute favorite neighborhood spots in KC. Dining in, their happy hour is truly unmatched with great prices and selection. Dining in is great and their selection of bottled wines + and no corkage fee which is a huge plus. The meatball appetizer is to die for, and the service is consistently fabulous every single time. We also love ordering from the butcher counter and shopping in the store. They offer a wide variety of high quality meats and so many tasty bake at home options that make weeknight dinners easy and delicious. The variety and quality here are outstanding. So happy to have this place in Kansas City. Highly recommend!
We recently visited The New York Butcher Shoppe Restaurant & Wine Bar for dinner based on a strong recommendation, and the experience was truly exceptional, demonstrating excellence in both fine dining and elevated comfort food. Atmosphere, Heritage, and Quality The setting is unique and contributes significantly to the ambiance. The restaurant is housed in a beautifully restored old fire house, giving it a comfortable charm. This sophisticated yet approachable atmosphere is the perfect backdrop for their serious commitment to quality. All the meat served is Certified Angus Beef, guaranteeing premium flavor and tenderness. Adding to the admirable ethos is the owner, a veteran whose passion and personal touch elevate the entire experience. The food here is, without exaggeration, amazing. Our table enjoyed both the high-end steak and the incredible comfort options. I ordered the New York Strip steak, cooked to a flawless medium rare and expertly accompanied by the rich, savory cowboy butter. The steak was incredibly tender, perfectly seasoned, and stands out as one of the best steaks I have ever had. The side of honey-roasted Brussels sprouts was the ideal, savory-sweet complement. We also tried the Smoked Brisket & Grilled Cheese. This dish was definitely a comfort meal raised to an art form. It showed that the kitchen can master anything from a classic steakhouse cut to an inventive, satisfying sandwich. The service was attentive and professional. The highlight, however, was having the owner take the time to personally speak with us. He genuinely engaged in a conversation about his restaurant, his cooking process, and his passion. This personal connection from the owner truly makes this restaurant a special place. The New York Butcher Shoppe Restaurant & Wine Bar is a must-visit destination. Seeing the owner's dedication, the guaranteed quality of the Certified Angus Beef, and a menu that successfully balances both fine cuts and exceptional comfort food makes this establishment an absolute standout. Highly, highly recommended!
Glenn was very helpful and pulled through with the most delicious smoked turkey and baked turkey EVER! Also, prepared a basic dressing and a wonderful chardonny, cranberry, and walnut dressing for our company's celebration of Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday. I would like to thank the entire staff at New York Butcher for preparing this wonderful food for our event!
Best kept secret for lunch in south plaza! The sandwiches and salads are exceptional and service is fast. Billy is a treasure. Indoor and outdoor seating and happy hour from 3-6 pm with half-priced wines. All boxes: checked! ✅
Excellent place to eat! Fun new restaurant just south of the plaza. I love coming to this location because it has lots of fun places yet avoids the crowd of the plaza. Food here was excellent, decent prices. Fun happy hour prices also. Wait staff was very helpful, checked on us the perfect amount of times, not too much, not too little. If you are in the area, this is a great place to try. Next time, I might save room for dessert!
The food at The New York Butcher Shoppe & Wine Bar is excellent — nicely spiced and high quality. We particularly like the meatballs in vodka sauce, muffuletta sandwich and glass of Chardonnay. Took home a prepared sausage and pasta casserole and fudgey brownies. Tasted great and the prices were reasonable. We’ll go back!
Love the idea of picking your steak and having them fun it for $18 additional. We actually got the steak frites and salmon. Both were good (I'd do just a touch now salt on the steak but the Parmesan fries were good as is). The wings were ok, pretty greasy but I liked the smoke to em. The sauce was way too thin and the blue cheese slaw was a little floppy but interesting. Will go back to pick up carry out items to try them out.
The worst service we've experience in perhaps years. The waitress was generally inattentive and basically stopped serving us after taking our order. A different waitress delivered our food, and NO ONE delivered the bill. After waiting for ~45 minutes after finishing our dinner, we had to approach the waitress behind the bar to ask for the bill, but she still didn't bring it. We ended just leaving what we thought was the right amount of cash on the table and leaving. Regarding the food, I ordered the steak and frites. I ordered the steak rare, it arrived medium rare and was a little too "chewy". The fries were nothing special.
HORRIBLE Customer Service. Placed an order for Prime Rib for 10 people, 8 days prior to New Year's Eve. Gave my number and date of arrival for pick up at 2:00 p.m. New Year's Eve. I even asked if they would be open for pick up. The butcher stated yes. I even left that day with several purchased items. We decided to have it deboned. Imagine my surprise when arriving New Year's Eve at 2:00 p.m. and there was no order to be found. I dealt with the same person as when I placed the order. You could tell by the expression on his face he remembered me. No apology. No remorse at all. I exclaimed, "You have lost a customer." The reply back was, "Oh well." That's NOT the worst part of this scenario. Leaving without a Prime Rib that was supposed to be served at 6:00 p.m. for 10 is bad enough. However, the 2nd butcher, who I had absolutely no contact with shouted out as I was leaving, "Have a Happy New Year!" Really? No contact with this person and he interjects that slogan. I turned around and stated a comment witnessing him smirking the entire time. He proceeded to make more comments. I am absolutely floored by the rudeness, the lack of care and most of all, the customer service between both of these men. No words............
