Lovely room, lovely staff and great facilities. Very clean and welcoming. Can't fault our stay at all!!

Loved it although steam room is cold despite reporting it on our first night. The rest of the facilities are worth it!

Stayed at 2 of the lodges with hot tubs. Very clean and offered everything you expect from a self catering basis.

We visited Moness for an afternoon tea deal that included use of the leisure facilities. It was such good value: the sandwiches, scones and cakes were very fresh and delicious; the service was prompt and friendly; and the price was incredible. We had been for afternoon tea at another Perthshire 4-star hotel a few months before, which had cost almost three times as much. Admittedly, the restaurant and pool facilities at Moness are a little bit tired: they definitely feel more 3-star than 4-star, and could do with a little updating. However, it was still a really enjoyable afternoon and the standard was more than reflected in the price. We'd definitely come back and would recommend for a relaxed and good value afternoon.

Very friendly welcome. My husband & I arrived a day early by mistake, Bronwyn was very helpful in arranging a stay in the room we were going to stay in. The room was very light, clean & spacious. All areas were clean & tidy. Great spa area. The food was good. Great location for walking & touring. Overall it was a good stay & would recommend it for a short break. The only down side was Thursday night. There wasn't enough staff for the amount of diners who came in. The staff did their very best to cope, but service would've been smoother with more staff. An additional person did appear later when another large group came in easing their service. We were a group of 10. We arrived at 6:30 & didn't finish till 9:30. We did get an apology, but I feel the management should've ensured that there were enough staff to cope with the extra guests that arrived on Thursday. It was explained that one waitress was new & two members of staff were away at a funeral.

Stayed here on Monday night and we had a great time. We booked a suite in the hotel and it was brilliant value for money. We went for a swim before dinner, the food and service was brilliant. The lady looking after us at dinner and breakfast was so lovely and accommodating to me being pregnant. Great location, beautiful grounds and very relaxing. We will definitely be back when we have our little one with us.

Visited for a 40th birthday and had a great time, including our 16 month daughter. Our cottage was very open with lots of space for our toddler to adventure, with baby gates included. The rooms were simple and probably quite dated but they were definitely very clean. The pool and spa facilities were excellent and ai think the booking system helped to limit the numbers throughout the day whilst still having plenty slots to choose from. Nearby aberfeldy was really nice too with lots of food options. Would visit again!

Went here as a Christmas present. Pre paid for everything in advance so as to assure a smooth stay. The way the staff speak to guests is admirable. The masseuse, Victoria is out to this world. The food is wonderful. The rooms are fabulous. We will be back this year. My only annoyance was over the bill. They overcharged me by £137, I wasn't happy, but they sorted it swiftly. Make sure you get a banana muffin at breakfast. Porridge is lovely. I ordered the tomahawk pork at dinner time. It was absolutely divine. It was huge, I can't even describe it.

Had an amazing stay here in early February in one of the self catering apartments. Had a nice warm greeting from Piper on reception, felt right at home! Would definitely stay here again.

Had a overnight stay in the dog friendly cottages with 6 adults, 2 teens and 2 dogs, very spacious cottage and was nice and clean when arriving in which we were allowed in early 🙂 cottage was nicely situated and had all our basic necessities. Only thing I’d say is there’s not a lot on the site like a shop for quick access so you would need to go into Aberfeldy however is only a 5 min drive. Overall nice experience 🙂

So pleased to have found this place! We arrived on the Friday and stayed for 2 nights in the main hotel, the room was spacious and clean, beautiful large tub for a soak! Very comfortable beds and linen. To take away the hassle of planning anything we stayed half board, and so pleased we did! After a full morning of hiking we retired back to the hotel and were quite happy lounging around and enjoyed a drink on the terrace prior to our evening meal. The menu is simple, scottish fayre and I cant say that we had anything there that we didn't like. Good, honest, tasty food. The staff are so welcoming and you feel you are looked after, nothing was too much trouble. A perfect base for walking, relaxation, not having to 'think or plan' and pure escapism from 9-5 city life. Aberfeldy centre is a short walk down the road, lots of lovely gift and coffee shops! We have already booked to come back in the New Year. Thank you so much for a well needed, restorative break!

Very efficient, friendly and helpful staff who adjusted our booking to meet our needs. Beautiful, spacious hotel room with refurbished bathroom. Local Kenmore shortbread is a nice touch. Bar Manager Avante was welcoming , serving breakfast and dinner which had very good choices. A peaceful pool and jacuzzi due to the booking system and a very thorough massage available too. Early in our stay, the hotel emailed us an enquiry form to check that we were satisfied (if not they'd have contacted us directly to respond to any issues) That is a very good idea. This was our first stay and I hope we can return.

Lovely ovetnight stay as we were at the enchanted forest in Pitlochry. The room was huge and able to change the temp on the radiator which was appreciate. Swimming pool nice. Breakfast is cooked to order. Parts of the outside of the moness resort could do with some tlc and look a bit tired but inside from the parts we were in were fine.

Hello. Good evening, just spending our last night here in the CEDAR ROOM. It's really GRANDE and periodic. The food and choice of drinks are varied. A REALLY GOOD stay. THANK YOU SO MUCH ,to all the staff. Great TEAM...🍉👍

Stayed at cottages here and service was really great. Cottage was nice, warm and had a good bed. Only small complaint is it could have been better equipped with small amenities for making coffee and food, only instant coffee and teabags were supplied.

Went there for one night with my mama by Glenton Holiday Coach for The Enchanted Forest. Nice room and large bathroom. Lovely dinner evening, Tomato Soup and Mushroom risotto. Also breakfast, they do serve vegan. Friendly staff.

Spent three nights dinner b/b at the Moness Hotel Resort recently. Lovely hotel, clean comfortable, good food, efficient friendly staff. Nice swimming pool, jacuzzi and massage treatment, all which I thoroughly enjoyed. Reasonable rates and all together a great experience.

We had a lovely stay for 2 days. We stayed in a duplex room with a lovely sitting area and kitchen upstairs and the bedroom downstairs. Our 4 year old loved the warm swimming pool and enjoyed feeding the ducks. The playground was ok- requires some maintenance. Service was excellent , the breakfast was pretty decent.

The cottage was lovely very clean and comfortable. The waiting staff in both dining area were so lovely and attentive. It makes you feel welcomed and special. The food was just delicious both hot and fresh. I would recommend this for anyone seeking a break in Scotland.

J

The staff were amazing, the rooms warm and welcoming the breakfasts were varied in choice and the hot choices were cooked to perfection. I really loved my stay there. The whole experience very satisfying.

Stopped for two nights, very dog friendly, there was a dog bow, doggy towel and a bag of treats waiting for us. The room was massive, loads of space. The bed a little uncomfortable, but that was because it was two singles slid together with uneven mattress.!(room 2) We ate one night in the restaurant and couldn't fault the service or food. Two breakfasts with plenty of choice and not a buffet... Grounds were immaculate, the putting green enjoyable. And just a stroll away from a walk with wonderful waterfalls. Highly recommend you stay here

We loved our stay. It is a beautiful setting. The afternoon tea we had was very tasty and good value for money. There is a lovely looking pool, but we did not visit. Our cottage was spacious and clean. The kitchen had everything needed to do straight forward self catering. Decor was a little tired and the shower worked, but not powerful. We made a couple of comments to the team and they did everything they could to fix them. Really nice place to stay

Very nice little houses. We've stayed in 4 of their properties, and only one was a disappointment. Showers can be slow with very little pressure. Area is beautiful, nice walks. We had cute little ducks come visit daily. Small duck pond located on site. Bar and restaurant was lovely, swimming pool and facilities were quiet each time we went, which was a bonus sauna, and jacuzzi were added bonuses. Staff were approachable and very lovely to us. I must say we dealt with a few but Bronwyn was outstanding with advice, and her overall customer skills. We will miss seeing her !

Great location and pleasant accommodation. Stayed in a suite which was very spacious, clean and warm. Excellent customer service at reception and the breakfast restaurant. Vegan breakfast was an option but was rather small. A little more imagination needed from the chef. Will definitely be going again.

Last minute booking on this occasion, actually 20 minutes before we checked in. We were visiting The Birks of Aberfeldy and when we decided to stay somewhere instead of travelling home the Moness Resort was across the road. Had a look online and found an excellent price for bed and breakfast on the Expedia site. Arriving at the hotel and with a seamless check-in we were given a room in a building adjacent to where the reception was. The bottom floor room was lovely and spacious which was very warm when we entered. Nicely sized room with double bed and spacious bathroom with a walk in shower and with various hot drink options, biscuits and 2 X bottled water. We dined at the Flemmyng restaurant where we had 2 starters, 2 mains which came with generously sized portions and were very nicely prepared. The only issue that we had our food was a bit salty to our taste. With the food plus the 5 drinks our bill came to less than £90 which was very reasonable.

We were staying locally and wanted a lovely local place to have a meal on our last night, we weren't disappointed. Lovely food, great service and really nice atmosphere. We'll be back here again for sure.

Excellent holiday with extended family staying in a 3 bed house. Pool was perfect for a 10 and 4 year old and the park and play facilities were welcome distractions too.

A huge thank you to the receptionist staff for taking very good care of my Son and his partner. I booked the wrong day and the staff arranged for him to stay both nights. They both had a great time and enjoyed the facilities on their stay. You’re kindness is very much appreciated

R

Lovely place to stay! Beautiful grounds, duck pond (they provide duck friendly food for you to give them). The staff are very friendly and super helpful! They gave us lots of ideas of things to do in the area. Very nice walk down to Aberfeldy, with lots of fun little shops and a street market on Sundays. The rooms are a bit dated, but overall a fabulous resort!!! Would go again if I ever get the chance.

M

We recently visited the resort for a couple of nights and could not fault the service provided. When our room was available it was communicated to us and the checkin process was seamless. We had a two bedroom cottage which was beyond spacious and had all the features of a home. The only negative being that the decor is becoming rather dated. We also made use of the leisure facilities which are lovely and not overcrowded, make sure to book ahead! The walk from the resort to the village is a short one but be wary if you or someone you are with is not great on hills as the climb back up could pose a challenge. Overall a lovely place to stay, would definitely recommend.

Great little stay in a very peaceful location. Didn’t use any of the services as we went out into the village which was great.

We had a very relaxing time food was excellent witth a very good selection. Just couldn't fault the staff so helpful doing a fantastic job. Location was beautiful nice walks. Room was nice but always a but the matres was very hard a could seriously do with being replaced. Also what we found it was a very warm duvet even with the heating not being on so struggled to get a good night's sleep even with the window open.

Loved it! Cheap and cheerful. Definitely wouldn’t class as 4* but a lovely stay for price. I wis they held back some spa reservations for guests as wasn’t aware there was a spa and tried to get a treatment but they were full. Oh and outside lights needed for the hot tub!

H
Harriet

Lovely hidden gem! We were doing some skiing and chose this place as a haven to come home to relax and use the spa after. The rooms are nice and warm, bit annoying how the lights outside are so bright but luckily I took my eye mask. Don't eat at the restaurant though - had the worst paella of my life there! Everything else is lovely. Breakfast was good (though they did forget to put sausages and haggis on mine so had to ask...not sure how you forget that!) And the service for the packed lunches instead of breakfast was good in terms of food but my god they need to sort their act out with it as one day they took 30 minutes to take our lunch choices. Some of the waiting staff are lovely and others just seem like they don't care at all about guests.

Hot tub cottage good. Hot tub hot and luxurious. Cottafe looking a bit dated but shouldn't complain at the price paid. Disappointed not to get the cottage I specifically asked for one year ago via my direct telephone booking which was also confirmed literally 1 week before I arrived. Website says you get priority allocation if you go direct but this is utter nonsense based on my experience. Matt at the bar and restaurant is outstanding and particularly worthy of mention. Head and shoulders above any other male waiting and serving staff I encountered during my stay.

Stayed here for a night ir was good. The rooms were spacious and clean the bath was huge. We had dinner and it was lovely although a pity on the dear side. Breakfast was good but the portions a bit on the small side but a good selection of bread, jams, fruit and cereals. The swimming pool was good very quiet but overall a good place to stay, just a short distance to the town. Definitely worth a stay and we'll definitely be back again.

Great location, 10 min walk to town, bar and restaurant on site, good accomodation, good pool and sauna, friendly staff. The accomadation is set up well for the rooms with good bedrooms and living space. Maybe a little tired and the details could be improved (i.e. rubbish ironing board, a bit bare and basic decor, lack of lamps - harsh lighting). But overall a good accomadation in a very good location, would use again. Perfect fur us a young family of four

This is a good location and venue for getting together as a family for a birthday celebration. We were able to book apartments which were quite suitable. The only issue was the pull out beds which were ok but could have been better. The pool and access to a restaurant/bar was good.

We had a good experience overall at the Moness Resort in Aberfeldy. The location was nice and quiet, with nice walking paths to downtown. The staff was probably the best part of the experience here. They went out of their way to make sure that all of our needs were met. We really enjoyed the spa with Allison. That was our favorite part! The pool was also nice and clean, with a nice hot tub. Breakfast and lunch were excellent as well. The room was not what we were expecting. There is no A/C, and the bed was a full (for two people). The water in the bathroom sink was either scorching hot or cold, although the shower was nice and had good water pressure. The entire hotel could use some renovations to make it more modern. There is also a lot of noise happening throughout the day because there were several things not working, including the elevator and pool showers. There are also a lot of rules, regulations, and procedures guests need to follow, with almost everything needs to be completed in advance in order to experience the amenities. But overall for a few days of stay here, we enjoyed our time here.

My partner and I have been here several times over the last few years. We enjoy it. Pool with steam room, sauna, jacuzzi. Spa facilities available but phone ahead before booking. Restaurant is massive with a varied selection of food. Cafe/bar/viewing area overlooking the pool. Good selection of rooms available too. Nice wee village just a 3 minute walk away. Loads of local walks in the countryside.

N
Neil

We were here for 2 nights and were well looked after.Nice rooms, smallish pool with sauna and jacuzzi. Lovely restaurant and café with good food and good staff. If you are a walker, there are large numbers of excellent hills, mountains, trails nearby. We followed Rabbie Burns example today and walked the Birks O Aberfeldy. Then we went to Birnam to see the Beatrix Potter centre and the Neil Gow / Shakespearian Birnam Oak. Too many other great things to mention.

We stayed in August 2023 as a family with young children. The houses are spacious and the beds are fairly comfortable. The kitchens are reasonably equipped but have very small fridges. For a freezer, you're lucky if you even get a small ice box. We reported a health & safety issue that the fuse box was at ground level, unlocked and far too easy for children to access. The leisure facilities are nice - the pool was warm in the summer. The WiFi was better than expected and fine for Zoom/ Teams video calls as well as streaming.

Stayed here recently for the Etape Caledonia and what a beautiful location. Set in a quiet ground with lots of greenery and rabbits hopping around, it’s a beautiful, peaceful place to unwind. Our experience with check in wasn’t great: we arrived early and so went to the bar. When we returned at check in time though, we were told the room still wasn’t ready and they didn’t know when it would be. After asking, they called house keeping to check but could only say it’s not ready and they didn’t know when it would. The suite itself was spacious and nice with a big and accessible bathroom. There was a nice rooftop bar which is ideal for a sunny day. We had food at the bar which was ok, but never tried the restaurant. I believe some of the lodges are dog friendly but the suite we stayed in was not. Personally I can’t see any reason our room wasn’t as i can’t see any way a dog could have damaged it or left a mess. Some ups and downs for this place but overall it’s a beautiful place and I would visit again. I think if they could smooth out the check in and be more welcoming to four legged friends this would be a 5 for me.

We had a good stay at one of the cottages. It is a peace and quiet place. But I think the maintenance need more upgraded the inside door handle is broken and the shower it will take a while to figure out to get a warm water. But the place is good.

Have a great few days here the food was delicious and always made fresh the views was amazing on the way there was very peaceful just a 5 minute walk from the town/woodland area. Only a few small things I would change the bar of soap to a liquid one in the bathroom and if you have the shower on for a few minutes the drain cannot keep up with the flow of water so it would flood you have to turn off and wait for it to go down. ( had the best steak and ale pie I would highly recommend it if you are staying there) The cottage was very clean beds comfortably. Lots of attractive for the young ones todo the swimming pool was great I did see a few small broken tiles at the bottom hopefully they are going todo the repair because it a lovely pool area. I would recommend a stay it will be worth your time 8/10.

Good quiet location around 5 minutes walk from the town centre. Room 14 was large with a very big bathroom containing a shower plus huge bath. The room has two windows looking onto the putting green and spacious grounds. Bed was comfy, the only negative with the room was the stifling heat (the weather was unusually good!) even with both windows open. The breakfast was a small continental selection plus the option to order a cooked breakfast. Hot food was okay, continental was good quality. We had dinner one night, food looked great, one meal had very dry chicken, otherwise all tasted fine. All staff were friendly and enthusiastic. Overall great value for money.

Stayed here for a weekend. Locations is great, quick walk to the centre and a few close walls that are lovely. Pool was nice and clean. Dinner was amazing, would recommend it so much. Was never disappointed. Breakfast (which was included for us) was okay. The supplement menu isn't worth the extra 4 quid for it though. And the fry up felt slightly stingy just 1 of everything. One lil stripe of bacon when usually you need 2 ect. Rooms were very clean and nice. Overall a great weekend away experience.

Just left a self catering lodge while it was good on the whole there could be improvements. We stayed in a self catering lodge 6 people two baby's. Rooms and lodge were clean and comfortable. However there wasn't anything to cook with ie baking trays etc for a self catering lodge the fridge was tiny not fit if your staying for a week the freezer was one drawer small improvements could make it a far better experience. Breakfast was great pool hot tub also

There is lots to like about this place, staff are lovely and helpful. The executive room in the hotel was big (rm 5) but.... the room above has terrible floor issues which meant it creaked loudly every time the persons above moved. This went on past 1 am on the first night, the 2nd night was better only because new guests moved in and went to bed earlier. The noise will keep most people awake or wake them up. Food in the dining room was good as was the service. It is an easy walk for most into Aberfeldy. If we were staying here again we would ask for a top floor room. The pool, jacuzzi and sauna are booked on the hour, max 18 people and the hotel provides an app which lets you see how many spaces are available. Ot wasn't overly busy. The upstairs bar has a free pool table and TV lounge , drinks are around £6.95 for a bottle of cider.

We stayed for 3 nights in early September and was our 6th or 7th time and always have a relaxing time, we don't usually eat in the restaurants, either eating in or going into town but this time we did, I love cullen skink but that was disappointing, very little cream, otherwise the food was very good, apart from the very large carpet stain on the floor in the Terrace restaurant,we stayed in a cottage and while the bathrooms were nice the decor was not up to scratch, a ceiling light was was hanging down (reported and hopefully repaired by now) the decorating finishing was very unprofessional with paint on the door frames and light fittings, we had a hot tub on the decking which was nice but the decking looks really tired and in need of some varnish, the patio doors were in bad condition, difficult to open, close and lock, also stains on the carpet, looking at some of the other accommodation from the outside it looks like they are of similar condition with the rendering on one cottage falling off, we will go back because we find the experience relaxing but if things have not improved it will be our last. During our stay we noticed a few people from overseas, i wonder what there impression was. I did take photographs but I couldn't see a facility to post them.2 stars for accommodation, 4 for restaurant.

S

Was here for an afternoon tea with one hour spa use beforehand. Didn’t have £1 coin for lockers and went to the reception only to be told they are cashless resort 😵‍💫 luckily I found one in the car. Most of the lockers were out of use, the ones that were in use had broken wrist straps or none at all, carrying a loose key isn’t handy. Sadly the whole spa experience wasn’t that great as the place is very dated and could do with some upgrade work. Afternoon tea was lovely but the staff weren’t very attentive. We had to go to the bar to ask for a second pot of tea, which never came, so we ended up leaving.

C
Cristian González

Room I have to give 2/5. Thin walls, could hear everyone next door and upstairs. Clean and spacious and decent amenities but the thin walls made it a tough nights sleep. They only had 2 very nice staff working 30-35 people for breakfast. Food kept running out and you had to bother them to stock up on top of them trying to take orders. 10/10 staff but they need support…. Pool or leisure amenities for a so claimed 4 star hotel were pathetic. Tiny changing rooms, dirty changing rooms, mud on the floor, a token/£ coin to use the lockers really??? Who carries that nowadays or if I’m a hotel guest why not provide a token with the towels? Walking through tables and chairs to get to the changing room takes away any 4 star experience. Extremely dated and the sauna wasn’t that hot Overall 3/5. Wouldn’t recommend for couples

Well, what to say, last up there some years ago when we still had timeshare......wow has it gone downhill, stale and faded resort now, really needs some cash spending on it ASAP, rooms comfortable enough but very dated, bathrooms showing signs of neglect and stains with dampness quite a problem. Food was okay and service decent for the money, but standards have most certainly fallen way below what it used to be, the 'aura' has long gone!! Nice enough setting but again needing upgrading and updating, staff can only do what they can with what they have available, which isn't much!! Sad to see how it has fallen and yet the prices are still increasing, certainly not value for money!!

G
Graeme

My partner's father had a timeshare here for 30 years which we stayed in a few times and we enjoy our holidays in Aberfeldy and Kenmore at different accommodation hence booking 4 nights over Christmas. The cottage accommodation is dated, very very dated and in desperate need of a good refurb. From the decor, furniture, kitchen facilities and general upkeep of the cottage, it needs a good bit of work done. The grounds need a good look at too, numerous pathway lights not working, the deer at the entrance lights lying loose with only the flexes holding them in the ground, really needs a maintenance manager to get on top of all the jobs inside and out and bring the place back up to standard. The pool was good, (had to book a slot and times are limited) but got a couple of decent visits. Looks like a new sauna has been installed. Showers were fine in the male changing but I'm told freezing cold in the female changing. I liked the ducks visiting in the morning for breakfast at the back door which hang around the local pond. Wouldn't consider the terrace cottage accommodation again, just too dated and noisy from adjacent properties.

S
Steven Clarkson

Rooms were a bit dated and the bed really uncomfortable. I didn't pay for the trip, my partner did so I hope it wasn't too expensive. Rated the location 5 because it was perfect for l the party we were attending at the resort. The food at rhe party was a bit dated. The starter was cold and the sticky toffee pudding was missing the sticky toffee.

B
Ben Coughlan

Lovely location, Aberfeldy is lovely, the ducks wandering were lovely, and the wildlife and scenery were great. The resort is run down completely though, and mismanaged. Spa out of order, pool not working, giant potholes that you could bathe in on the road around the resort, patched up kids play area. We paid over £800 for 3 nights, the rooms were super basic, we asked reception for new towels three times on one day, morning/afternoon/evening only to get a call back at 9pm saying to call over for them. I explained that I had two kids in bed, and she just kept repeating that I'd have to call down for the towels. Our stay there was really disappointing to be honest, the place could be great with some investment, I don't know if the business is failing or if it's just run really badly, it was pretty depressing, we didn't spend any time around the hotel during the day.

M
Martha Thimble

This is just for the restaurant - worst paella ever! It was actually a joke and I wish we'd asked for our money back. It was just a plate of very watery rice with no seasoning, no stickiness to the rice and some horrible peas chucked in. TBF the seafood was generous but again, not exactly paella standard where you want the big shelled prawns and maybe bits of chicken/chorizo. Horrible service too, the waitress just threw the plates down and walked off. No care at all.
