Gino's Guadalupe Inn Acayucan Reviews
We were in the city for my girlfriend’s Birthday and we wanted some good pizza not that .99 cent slice pizza. Diana the cashier and Ramone the chef were amaIng the pizza was amazing the garlic knots were so fresh and you can te that they took their time and the ingridents were fresh abd not frozen even the parm waa fresh for the pizza it was amazing.
Pizza is really good, like objectively way better than most places you would just walk by. Highly reccomend.
Amazing pizza! Thick crust with a delicious sauce and toppings. A whole pie takes about 20 minutes to prepare but it gives you time to either check out the neighborhood or sit and people watch.
Just went here today and honestly it was a great time. I had a cheese pizza and a margarita pizza slice and honestly both sauces were amazing. The cheese pizza has a very savory sauce and the margarita pizza had a very garlicky sauce and I really appreciated the differences. Very fun place, great counter service and honestly, even though I'm from Maryland and it's probably not a fair comparison but one of the best places I've been to in a while and we have really good pizza in Maryland so that's saying something. See the pictures. Go to the place. Great vibe. Enjoy.
Traveling with a friend who has severe gluten and nut allergies, she's understandably wary of eating out. Sofia's was the first place that she felt comfortable eating at that wasn't Chipotle! The pizza was incredible, very classic NY style. They don't have much marketing about their allergy friendliness, but I did happen to find reviews on Google Maps and we met someone here who recommended them as well. Their garlic knots were also top tier!
Open for just more than a year, Sofia Pizza Shoppe has joined the ranks of NYC's truly great slices—and much needed in this part of town. Don't sleep on the signature spinach slice, though you can't go wrong with a thin and crisp plain slice. Pepperoni is the perfect thickness—it cups and crisps just right. This shop keeps a tight focus and does things right.
We walked into Sofia the other day for a quick lunch. They offer a lunch special and we ordered it plus one extra slice. The cheese slices were excellent. Thin crust and cooked nicely. Very limited seating in or out but we got two seats at the bar where the windows open to the sidewalk. All in all, a very good lunch. Back again for a good lunch while the day is warming up and the sun is out. Another delicious pizza lunch for two.
More like a 4.5/5. The crust is very thin and snaps like a cracker, while the sauce and cheese are very high quality. The best we had was the Sicilian, where you could really taste the delicious cheese and sauce. Our second favorite was the Vodka. My partner liked the spinach a lot too (it's a very spinachy taste, which I personally don't like, but you'll love if you like spinach). The pepperoni slice was good, though pretty salty. Overall, a great choice for this neighborhood.
Update: Been back a couple of times since with much better pizza and etiquette from the staff. Sicilians have been delicious (and upside down vodka one particularly standing out) and classic slice has been solid. Upgrading rating as a result. Original: Underwhelming. Sicilian was really dry and didn't have much flavor, spinach dip slice was fine but I wouldn't be in a rush to go back for it. Guy behind the counter had an attitude and was rude to folks in the shop with accents that were tricky to understand as well. Overall really not great.
Spinach Dip Pie is good. Everything else just so-so. I stay nearby sometimes, but had a bunch of slices delivered in the rain, so maybe ordering slices just isn't the way to go, so ignoring temperature, the flavor and topping of the slices just wasn't anything to write home about. The Season Grandma slice with cup and char pepperoni and hot honey was the second best, but I've had better elsewhere. If you're in a pinch or imbibing at the GoC across the street, come here, get that Spinach Pie slice. Sadly, otherwise, plenty of other good pizza spots within a 5 minute walk of here that I'd prefer to go to.
