TLDR; best ramen in the neighborhood! I've been to probably 20+ in midtown/UES/EV. Ambiance (5/5): The establishment is huge and spacious with the room being divided in two rooms. It's a couple restaurants combined into one (Zurutto, Tenzan, Omakase Shihou). One side has a counter/kitchen and the other a full bar. It's quiet, brightly lit, and ornate. Upstairs is the omakase. Service (5/5): We came super late at night (9pm) and there were still several patrons but very few staff members. While they did not come to check in on us during our experience, we were able to get their attention very easily whenever we needed something. Staff was polite and friendly when I asked more about their establishment. Food: Zurutto Deluxe Ramen (6/5): Everything about this ramen was phenomenal!! The portions were huge--there was FIVE honky pieces of charsu which had the perfect ratio of fat to meat. The meat was tender to bite and juicy from the fat, seasoned through, and thick. Other competitors would give only a third of this portion. On top of that, there was a FULL seasoned soft-boiled egg (not the usual half). The bamboo shoots were marinated in seasoning too within the other toppings of diced white onions and scallions. It comes with a side of blacked garlic (which my bf poured all into the bowl, whereas I did not pour any bc it's not preferred flavor profile). I asked for a side of chili oil (+ $1) which further amplified the already savory broth. The soup had depth and umami, not too salty, and didn't need any sauces. Ask for your noodles a little more firm (I could tell the difference between the regular and the firm). Will absolutely come back again!! Spicy salmon roll (3/5): The salmon was good but the rice was a bit stale.

I am very picky with my ramen and I love this place - probably my favorite in the city so far. The sweet potato tempura was decent, a bit dry for me but I think its because its with the special salt rather than a sauce. The ramen was fantastic! Checked all my boxes - ✅️ affordable ✅️ chashu is delicious and smoky (its blowtorched) ✅️ broth is flavorful but not too salty ✅️ nitamago is delicious and you get BOTH halves ✅️ generous amount of meat Highly recommend :)

Great ramen spot. The Potato Wrapped Shrimp was good, but I preferred the Takoyaki... Which was delicious. I had the Zurutto Miso - which was quite tasty (great tea egg). My wife had the Zurutto Tantan which was a little to heavy on the oil, but still pretty good.

The food was delicious. I had trouble finding the location, that was my fault. But the food was delicious. I recommend it. It was only 1 person when I entered but as I ate and left more people came. Service was great.

We came here on as Saturday night and it was pretty empty. Service was a bit slow, but we also came close to closing time. We got the Zurutto UWO (I think that’s what it is), the truffle mazemen, and the spicy tuna don. First impression is that the portions are HUGE! The spicy tuna don was so big and really good and exactly what I was looking for, especially since not many places still serve it. For the ramens, they were reasonably priced and included pork and an egg, which you usually have to pay extra for these days. I personally liked the soup ramen more than the Mazemen, but I generally don’t like dry ramen. A solid ramen option, better than the other ones in this area. Would come again.

First, the takoyaki appetizer was excellent. Cooked to perfection and absolutely stuffed with takoyaki! Then, the Zurutto Deluxe Ramen for the win. Broth was fantastic. The black garlic oil was the perfect accompaniment. Didn't overwhelm at all. Amazing sear on the chashu pork. And you wouldn't think raw onion as a topping would work, but it really did. Not your typical Bowl of ramen, and that's a good thing. Will absolutely be back for more.

Better to sit in the adjoining Tenzan 52, which looks cleaner and brighter and does not have distracting restaurant equipment beside the ramen station. As for the ramen itself, please note that they use chicken broth which may or may not be your ramen expectation. That said, the Zurutto Deluxe ($18 plus tax) was a hearty blend of perfectly cooked noodles and toppings of tender pork, bamboo shoots and egg. The calamari ($8) was a tad overdone and became slightly too chewy. Service could be more streamlined.

My friends and I swung by Zurutto after a long day out for a cold one and some good noodles. The restaurant is combined with another Asian business next door so you are free to order from both businesses. Since we came in for ramen, we stuck with our hearty bowls of noods. I ordered their Vegetarian Miso Ramen with no egg and added tofu since there was no protein already included. The ramen included bamboo shoots, kimchi, and green onions. I really enjoyed my piping bowl of ramen with its thick noodles, tasty broth, and all the toppings working well together. Service here was also very friendly. They helped answer any questions and even made sure our group photo looked good. Thanks Zurutto!

I had the ramen with the garlic add which was good! It's attached to tenzan so you can also get their sushi. Love tenzan sushi. The atmosphere isn't the strong suit though. It's very bright in there and just overall doesn't have much of a vibe, but it is a nice neighborhood spot.

The truffle mazemen is definitely not traditional but is nevertheless very tasty. It hit the spot for me with a good portion of ground meat and fried shallots within every bite. Of the dry mazemen/aburasoba I’ve tried, it is on the saucier side, if that’s what you like. I went on a Friday at noon and I was the only one there which is a bit sad.

The food was really delicious, they do use chicken broth for all their ramen though. We got the gyozas, chicken kuro, and the noodle dish with no broth. The gyozas were nice and crispy, the chicken kuro was a solid classic, and the noodle dish was no broth was something I haven't tried before, all super awesome.

We were seated in the Zurutto side so reviewing this place. Wheelchair-accessible entry. Got Truffle Mazemen which I liked - Dry noodles, spicy, with ground pork which I couldn't tell though bec mixed with crispy onions, etc, and a ramen egg. Large portion of eel in his Unagi Don but the rice had too much sauce. The Beef fried rice was pricey and we didn't like - sticky rice texture, not a lot of beef, which was a bit chewy anyway. Tempura appetizer had thick coating over a small shrimp, crispy/wasn't oily. Soggy Calamari. Green tea ice cream had 3 scoops and is rich in flavor, which was good. Ambiance could be better - there were boxes stored by the dining area. Service was great, attentive.

Fantastic appetizers. I did not expect to try the best Gyozas I've had in NYC at this shop. The Gyozas had firm and crispy edges with full stuffings, unlike some of the store bought flimsy ones commonly served at ramen shops that don't hand-make their Gyozas. The Takoyaki was top quality too with three pieces of octopus per ball. Highly recommend trying both. My Miso Ramen wasn't as good. The noodles were plain egg noodles that I could buy at grocery stores. They weren't fresh compared to other Miso Ramen noodles that are fresh and tend to be thicker to accompany a rich broth. The broth was also underwhelming. It tasted weak, like they used instant miso as the base instead of those thick, pasty, and rich ones. The Zurutto Deluxe Ramen with black garlic oil was better than the miso. Richer broth and more flavor. But same problem with the egg-noodles which were ordinary.

Not good. Spicy tan tan broth was too salty and overpowered the whole flavour. Addition of raw onions as a topping was weird and added an unpleasant texture to the entire dish. Bao buns were okay but way too saucy to an already fatty piece of pork belly.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Zurutto Ramen for many years. Unfortunately, that will no longer be the case. I recently ordered a delivery through GrubHub which was severely delayed. When I called the restaurant to inquire about it, the owner (he confirmed that it was his business) raised his voice to me, told me he did not have time to answer my questions, and then hung up on me. One of my questions that he did not take the time to answer was about food safety and contamination prevention. He told me there was nothing he could do to stop the food from spoiling while waiting for the severely delayed delivery driver. I am very disappointed with the level of unprofessionalism and disrespect that I was shown.
