It's a little hidden gem. The breakfast tacos are great. I bring them in for my team and love them over Taco Cabana. The owner is there and brings the passion to his business. I haven't made it for lunch. But I will make it soon!!

Just went in there to get tacos cause my brother is in town, and just because of the amazing service and how sweet the gentleman in there were I plan on going back AND the tacos are really amazing. I had gotten the potato, egg, cheese, and bean tacos. Absolutely amazing. Plus it’s super close to wagging tails dog park so I can get tacos after a while at the dog park. Such a great find omg!

I love DJ's Taco Express. I've been eating there for over 15 years. The owner is always super nice, and asks how my coworkers are whenever I go in. Maybe the previous reviewers just caught him on a bad day. He is always willing to make more healthy versions of dishes for me like swapping corn tortillas for chips or making off menu veggie fajitas. If you want to know what's really good and healthy ask him about his favorite dishes. I love the salmon tacos, carnitas tacos, tortilla soup, and fajitas. The breakfast tacos are great too. Just make sure to get there early in the morning, before they sell out of your favorite variety. All of the portions are huge, so you definitely get your money's worth. Especially if you order a burrito. He does charge extra for Jalapenos but he give you an ample portion for the price. If you haven't tried DJ's what are you waiting for? We order delivery several times a week, and frequently have him cater our company meetings.

This place was right next to the tattoo shop I was at. One of the artists recommended them while I was waiting. Food was very fresh! I had the lunch special, two chicken tacos, rice and beans. It was super good!

I've been a patron of this establishment since the late 90's. The food is always fresh. I like the #2 special (1 beef taco, 1 bean chalupa & 1 flauta) so much, I rarely try anything else. The best flautas i have ever had... big, about an inch in diameter, stuffed full of chicken, fried to crispy perfection.

A friend recommended I try this spot. And wow, these are some dam good tacos. High quality meat and ingredients. You can taste it. Will be going back to try everything on the menu.

Great food! The vegetables are organic. There's no animal fats in the beans. Very healthy. Mexican seasoning is flavorful and refreshing. I'm also grateful that they have hamburgers on their menu for our little one who hasn't acquired a flavor for Mexican yet. Love this place! Look forward to coming back. And just for fun. I really enjoyed their sports bobbleheads.

They have great service and big smiles at 8 am. I’ll definitely be returning to try their other options. 😋

I haven't tried every single burrito in Carrollton... but gosh, these have got to be the best. Coming from a vegetarian perspective, this place is awesome. I've only ever ordered burritos. The beans are delicious, flavorful, and Truly vegetarian; the owner makes sure to mention that there is no animal fat every time I order. He really cares about the food he puts out, he is proud to serve what he serves, and it shows. His food is heartfelt. I don't even live in the area anymore; I live an hour away, but circumstances provide that I am in the area every once in a while and when it's lunchtime, as long as I don't wait too long and he is still open, it's no question where my lunch is going to be.

A gem that has been in this corner strip for years while other places come and go. The loyal group of regular customers know what I'm talking about. My favorite the Supreme Taco. Love the tortilla soup but sadly on the menu only when the weather turns cold. Salmon tacos, fajitas, it's all delicious. You will also find the best burgers you can imagine so try that sometime as well. Just one caution, try it once and you will be hooked!

Me and my father have been coming here since I was about 8 years old. I’m 32 now. We used to live across the street when I was that young & id walk over there most days with a few bucks my dad would give me. I live in McKinney now & I still drive over to enjoy this spot. Me & my dad have always bragged about this place. I cannot comment on all of his food - I’ve gotten the same things everytime all these years. The breakfast chorizo tacos & for lunch the bean and cheese sour cream burrito. My dad gets the BFB. We also always load up on the Salsa. I’m not sure what he puts in his salsa but it’s hands down the best salsa I’ve tried in my life. Even if you don’t prefer it you cannot say there is another salsa like this around. I’ve been trying to figure out his recipe at home haha maybe one day he will pass it along. Everytime we go in he always remembers us. Always ask about our family. He may not remember our names but he never forgets a face! Thanks for always serving us well brother! And most of all thank you for your food! I will always come here.

DJ's makes the best fish tacos I think possibly in the world. I've eaten many a fish taco, in many different cities and states all over this country, and have never had better. They've been in continuous business at the same location since I think the late 80s, which should tell you all you need to know about the quality of their food and service. The owner is the nicest guy in the restaurant biz and he never forgets a face. He will welcome you back, to breakfast or lunch, like a long-lost friend every time you visit. The price is right, the food is fantastic, and there only a couple miles from the Tollway. Check them out for lunch, and be sure to order a couple fish tacos. You'll be very glad you did.

Not Authentic and Tacos are not Spicy at all. Well grounded beef and meat is well flavored. Delicious food but something I personally can make at home. 4 stars for the the Entertaining Attitude and decent food. Didnt offer me a choice to eat inside...... hmmm. I got the bacon, egg & cheese sandwich. Let me start by saying, he is really nice. I appreciate that he uses real eggs and he seasons the egg. With that being said..the sandwich isn’t worth the price. $6.50 1 egg and 3 very thin slices of bacon between 2 pieces of giant Texas toast. I definitely recommend using english muffins or smaller pieces of bread

A decent place to stop by for breakfast or lunch if you are in the area. I am often in the area, and stop by once a month or so, and the quality of food is consistently good. What can vary though is the service - and it depends on which of the two gentlemen running the place you get. One is overly nice, and the other, is well...a little harsh. There's a sticker on the wall that reads "Our service depends on our mood and your attitude", lol.

Horrible food, I ordered a burrito and I received a stale tortilla filled with ground beef and a few scattered pieces of shredded cheese... no vegetables or anything else you would expect in a burrito. Food was nasty as heck beans, rice and all just disgusting. Stay away!

I just left this place due to the person behind the counter saying a dish was 5.99 but then sfter sitting there for most of my lunch he said that he said 10.99. Thanks for a waste of time. And for making me feel like a deef idiot. Never going back there again. Maybe if there were prices on his food.

Wish I had read the negative reviews before going here. The owner is definitely rude and runs off potential customers. First and last time stopping in. I was looking for a new breakfast taco place since I'm relatively new to the area. The owner refused to let me purchase my order because I didn't have cash and didn't want to spend more money for food I wasn't going to eat. My to go order was ready and the owner legit told me "I couldn't have it" and took the bag back since he didn't want me use my debit card. Oh well saved me money and I know to not become a regular here.

When I came in i was hopeful that it would be good. Seems like a nice spot with music playing and all. When I ordered the taco combo they didn't allow you to change your meet to carnitas..only beef or chicken. All the food was bland with no flavor..from the tacos, beans, rice and sadly the salsa as well. Needless to say after 30 minutes I threw it all up. Will Never go back!

The food was terrible to me, reminding of the school lunch. He used the precooked, cold meat for tacos. The owner also said I look similar to other guy, possibly making a racist remark. Basically, a taco bell with a racist owner

I tried to ignore the bad reviews...but I just wasted $10 on the worst quesadilla I've ever had in my life. Chicken all looked like it came from a different bird, no rhyme or reason, green in color and terrible texture. everything just thrown in there, terribly seasoned and only a little cheese only at the very bottom of the fold. A nightmare. I threw it away after a few bites trying to force myself to not waste the money. Also yes, the owner is a bit of a jerk. Don't go here.

The dude was cool until he started making the tacos the chicken tacos looked very sketchy first of all then he was touching my tacos with no gloves hands visibly dirty I told him I forgot my wallet I refuse to waste money

I tried this place based on a recommendation of a friend. I got two breakfast tacos. When I handed my credit card to pay the owner said, "Cash Only." When I said I didn't have cash the owner looked at me like I committed a crime. He said ok but next time its cash. But, there will be no next time. I know it costs merchants to process credit cards but I'm sure that cost is much less than the cost of a lost repeat customer.

He seemed to exhibit racist behavior, as he took orders from three people of a certain race before taking mine. There are too many taco shops in the area with excellent customer service and appreciation for their customers.
