Alamo Square Cafe Alameda Reviews
Very good place to have lunch. The products are of good quality and the service is super fast. The staff is very nice and very friendly 😌
Visited the Painted Ladies, stumbled into this cafe. The sandwiches are so yummy and the shop is decorated with lovely pics of dogs & cats, we absolutely enjoyed it.
Great place to stop for a delicious sandwich and coffee if you’re visiting the painted ladies! My fiancé and I were visiting for an event and stayed nearby within walking distance. I got a salmon avocado sandwich on a whole wheat roll with a small cappuccino and my fiancé got a smoked turkey sandwich on French bread with a small iced black tea. Everything was great! The whole wheat roll was SO soft and all parts of my sandwich were seasoned, including the lettuce. I was pleasantly surprised and finished the whole sandwich. My fiancé also enjoyed his sandwich (finished it!) and his black tea was so good! My coffee was dark and foamed well, like a cappuccino should be. Service was great. There was only one gentleman working the shop and he was able to get ours and others’ orders out quickly. There are 6 small tables in the seating area, on either side of the front entrance and each space has access to an outlet with multiple plugs. Every table was clean and the space was well kept so we were able to choose any of the tables that weren’t already taken! Very much appreciated that. There was a medium flow of traffic on a Monday, late afternoon and a couple of people using the space with their lap tops when we were there. It was a chill space with a lively radio in the background, Drake, Lizzie, Taylor swift, etc. There’s local art work on the walls with pricing and a QR code for purchase too! I really liked this space and wish I lived nearby so that I could stop by more often! For now, I’d recommend to friends and family. TLDR: Unpretentious cafe with a chill vibe, delicious sandwiches, and lots of outlets.
Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to try this cafe. I got the chicken pesto sandwich on Dutch crunch roll and it was INSANE. I wasn’t even super hungry and housed the whole thing…oops! Portions are super generous. I’ll be back!!
We stopped at this local corner shop for coffee, breakfast and to keep out of the rain for a bit. I had a garden salad with eggs and ham and my husband had the egg sausage sandwich, both delicious and my salad was huge! The server was friendly and willing to I accommodate my odd egg and salad request. Definitely recommend this place for a light breakfast or lunch and you want it prepared fresh! Also, loved the 90s music they were playing!
Unpretentious little cafe serving breakfast, bagels, sandwiches, salad and a large assortment of coffee and teas. Around the corner from Alamo park and Painted Ladies historical houses. The neighborhood is quiet, hilly and calm - fantastic way to spend a quiet afternoon working on a laptop, free wifi. Good large coffees and polite friendly service. Really enjoyed it this authentic no frills place.
The Lox Bagel was super fresh, soft on the inside, lightly toasted, and warm enough to slightly melt the cream cheese, crispy cucumber, red onion, and fresh tomatoe~ Yummy! The Pumpkin Oat Milk Latte was perfect for enjoying walking through the nearby park on a fall morning.
I was on Fillmore to pick up a Ganglyroost Flanderhopper from my old school pal Scooter Scrimticket because he's done with it, and I need it to control the infestation of Priggleback Wingstickers coming into my garden from old lady Humplestump's curly rutabaga patch. I drove by the Alamo Square Café on my way to Scooter's and remembered how great the food was the last time I was there, so here I am once again! I just had room for a sando and an iced tea, but Man-O-Man was that sando great...it was Amazing! 5 stars all day long. ☆☆☆☆☆
The sandwich I had was really great - do give this place a try. Cozy interior and friendly staff. There is some interesting art on the walls that is available for purchase via QR code.

We just got coffee. It was great!
Didn’t expect much from this place, but the sandwiches were EXCELLENT!! Got a couple of smoked turkey in Dutch crunch and was really delighted! Soft, fresh toasted bread, meat and cheese, packed full of fresh veggies, perfect balance of sauces… just really good and reasonably priced.
Perfect for a quick snack/coffee or breakfast. It was a quick walk from our hotel, and the sandwiches are amazing.
Coffee's great and some of my favorite sandwiches in the city!

Very nice cafe with amazing bagels and sandwiches ! We were welcomed with a warm smile and nice music. It’s located just next to the Painted Ladies. The cafe is very cute and confortable.
This is a nice, unpretentious small cafe just around the corner from Alamo square. The couple who served us were super friendly and attentive. It's clean and calm inside with limited outside seating. Prices are reasonable for the neighborhood, three dollar coffee, $13.50 sandwiches. Nice place
Cute little coffee shop with delicious sandwiches for lunch. The staff was very friendly. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that it took almost a half an hour for our party of six to get all of our food so the first person was done eating before the last person even got their food. I would recommend the chicken pesto sandwich!
Great sandwiches, disappointed in the BLT, very thin slice of bacon compared to the grilled chicken and black forest ham. Coffee could use more filtering, coffee grounds in the cup. Overall great spot.

Got a cappuccino and bagel breakfast here. Nice ambience and medium level of business on a Sunday morning. I really enjoyed the ambience, the kind barista, and the ability to do work in this cafe. 6 tables and lots of power outlets! However the coffee is not my favorite at all. The coffee tasted like dark roast and reminded me of Starbucks coffee. Maybe that would fit the palette of someone else, but I would come back here to do work or grab a bite, and not for the coffee.

Cool vibe and quiet. Sandwich was a small/thin for $10 but tasted fine overall.
I made a trip to this area of San Francisco on my last day in the city - on the basis of them having gluten free sandwiches (mentioned on their website). However after catching an uber there they said they didn't have GF bread. The staff didn't seem to care either. I ordered a salad which was okay, but it wasn't what I was after. If I had more time I would have gone elsewhere. For something like this they need to ensure the website is current.

We came and it was closed for more than one week. It would make sense to keep the opening hours up to Date on Google
