Andersen Bakery Alameda Reviews
Fantastic pastries. Try the raspberry almond croissant. Even a plain cup of hot coffee here is so much better than Starbucks.

LOVE THEIR CHOCOLATE CHIP SCONES!!!! I went a third time to get some more. Also the lady there was really sweet
I purchased a cake on 8/29/24 from Anderson Bakery in Oakridge Mall that was AWESOME and SUPER. I took it to a party. Everyone there loved the cake.
Fantastic, fresh, fluffy, delicious, eclectic baked goods. So many flavors to satiate both simple and complex palates. They serve all different types of breads and pastries. They also use that fresh baked bread to make awesome sandwich options for breakfast and lunch. They have soups and salads as well that they craft from scratch. Coffee isn't bad either. Tey the creamy French sliced and toasted. Or buy a loaf of sweet bread for French toast/sandwiches.
Great bread and pastries. Had our favourite sandwich and it was delicious. Avocado and turkey on pain de campagne... very good prices!
The Turkey Avocado and Swiss on Sourdough here is so perfect, it may qualify as a work of art. The bread has just the right amount of tang, wheatiness and chew, mayo and the perfectly sliced tomato provide the acidity to balance the nuttiness of the swiss, avocado is perfectly ripe and is in the right amount to get the byte together and the turkey is fresh and smoky. The sandwich is expertly constructed so that you get each ingredient in every bite. It has become my Saturday lunch staple.

7.9 Turkey Avocado sandwich. It tasted fresh and was decent size for the price $9.75, considering anywhere in the mall you're paying $10+ for food. The sourdough and the avocado had decent flavor. I will say though, it probably could've used some salt. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I did go first thing in the morning, so maybe this added toward the freshness. For what it is, it was decent, and I'd go back. The pastries looked really good as well. The picture shown is of half the sandwhich and not the full size
We ordered 3 creme brulees through DoorDash. Although the syrup had already soaked the bottom of the box, I still appreciate how cute the box looked. This would be great for yourself, or to gift to someone else. Tasted great!

The pisano bread is by far one of my favorites. The bread was soft melted cheese and sauce on the inside with a crispy flaky shell. The pastries are so delicious you just want to get one of everything.
I enjoyed a blueberry muffin, oatmeal raisin cookie and Earl Grey tea while I read my novel. I should have asked for the cookie to be warmed up a bit. The muffin was great. The place is off the beaten path, as much as a place can be inside of a mall. I liked it. They had other other baked goods , I will some next time.
Another Anderson mall location. Not as large as the one at the Great Mall in Milpitas, no in-store seating, and a reduced selection. What they do have is very good, equal to (or better) than most non-franchise bakeries
Great bakery with a huge selection and types of things to choose from. I have always liked everything I ordered from them. There is a huge seating area. It is a great place to grab a quick bite or a full meal before, in-between or after shopping at the mall. Visit #n 😀 Chocolate ganache cake slice was tasty but the chocolate flavour was only strong in the ganache and not in the cream filling in between the bread of the cake which was strange. I don't recommend this one if you are looking for a rich chocolate flavoured pastry. Visit #n+1: 😀 Pesto and roasted tomato cheese bread is a great option if you want to grab a quick, filling, light on the pocket, pizza like bite while shopping in the mall. I definitely recommend it.

Andersen always offered wo derful service along with their excellent pasyries but the quality of service has gone down. While the pastries and sandwiches are still awesome, I am teribly put off by their service. I've always paid extra for an extra slice of bread since the turkey overpowers the sandwiches (my kids don't eat a lot of meat). They declined even though I offered to pay .. but when I asked for the extra pickle which they normally give out for free, the lady axcepted but with a charge of .25 cents for the quarte spear. Now... I don't care that this has changed, but I certainly wonder how they cannot add a bread but charge for the pickle which is a condiment? It's morning by the way ..so maybe they lack bread in the morning.

On a melon pan adventure today. Inside the mall. Nice customer service. Variety of melon pan flavors: ube, regular, and vanilla cream inside. Dry bread.
Customer service was great, sandwichs are good, but their drinks are awful. Ordered a iced coffee with jelly and both tasted way off and probably stale. Just get your drinks somewhere else.

I was just passing by and saw a sign that says “Buy 5 pastries and get 1 free.” I came home and I only see 5 pastries and no free inside. That’s bad business!

I would regularly come here for a sandwich during lunch. On Sundays I usually try to get to work early to try their breakfast sandwich. The day that I make it to work early enough. I gave them a call to place my order. It was just about 10:50 am. The girl that answered was quick to tell me they don’t serve breakfast after 11 am. So I informed her that it wasn’t yet 11 am. Once again she mentioned that they don’t serve breakfast after 11. So I hung up and walked up to the store and asked for the manager. They informed me that there was no manager just a supervisor, so I asked to speak with him. I laid out the issue and once again he informed me that they don’t serve breakfast after 11. I showed him my phone and let him see that it wasn’t 11 am yet. After he noticed I was completely pissed off at the situation he then goes to tell me that they are out of eggs. How does a place that uses eggs on most of their products run out of eggs? He asked if I would rather get something else and I let him know I would never, nor would any of my employees and friends, buy anything from them ever again.
Can you imagine $60 for a tiny cake? Also cake smells of rancid oil Very Expensive for TINY TINY size of cakes and pastries they sell

Long line, just 1 girl service. No napkins. Don’t eat around there. Table is dirty, smell bad. Overall BAd place for breads
Customer service great 5 starts for the Team but creamy French for sure the cream filling is different doesn't test like before test like sugar is to sweet I use to buy for my grand son because he love it but now I have the bad experience about test ☹️😟
