DragonEats Alameda Reviews
I got delivery. It was soooo good! I ordered the bouncing beef and then the garlic noodles with bbq chicken. Amazing!! I will be back asap. The food was incredible!
I got the garlic chicken wings and garlic fries with lemongrass and jalapeño — everything was cooked perfectly, and the flavors were on point. Aioli was bomb too. It’s a garlic lovers heaven🧄 I also got an Aperol spritz with a modification and it was delicious. Happy I found this spot!
I’ve driven by this place 100 times. I always glance over at it when I head into Alameda. We finally decided to try it out. It was a cold rainy morning, we stopped in right at opening. The place was empty, to be expected. We were sat right away. We ordered the Vietnamese coffee. They brought it to us over ice and already mixed up. I was expecting the whole drip situation. It was very sweet, but pretty tasty. We ordered a pho and the dragon sampler platter. Everything was amazing. The server brought everything out and explained each bite. You could tell they assembled everything with care and attention to detail. I bet this place is really nice for dinner. If it wasn’t so wet and rainy I would have loved to sit in the outdoor dining area. Super clean and well staffed place. Will definitely come back. The food was delicious.
Excellent happy hour value. Great service. Out the door for 18 bucks.
It was our first time there. We had a prefect evening out with the family. The food and service was excellent. The menu has vegan and meat options. That was great for us. I know we will be going back.
Having grown up watching films like Enter the Dragon and The Last Dragon, I knew I had to keep the theme going and check out this hidden gem. Having been my first time there, I played it safe and ordered the catfish.... Shortly after, the Salmen plate 😂😂😂. What can I say I love my fish and they know how to make it delicious. A nice chill spot near the water.
Great ambiance, fantastic setting, genuinely nice workers, and all topped off with delicious food. If you're in Alameda and want to enjoy some delicious Asian cuisine, Dragon Rouge is your place.
Came here for my birthday with 8 others. Had a great experience. The service was phenomenal. The waitress even offered to take our group shots and was extremely friendly. The food was amazing. I got the bouncing beef and it was cooked to perfection. Lastly, the view of the bridge and water at sunset was gorgeous and great for pics!
We were worried if the restaurant was closed when we first got there, but luckily it was open through the outside seating (some renovations in the front being done). We had several GREAT servers! Very attentive and on service. The food and drinks were FANTASTIC!!! Definitely going back and I strongly recommend that if you're in the Alameda area to try it out!!!
Nice asian bistro by the water in door and out door seats available. Food was well seasoned and they have a diverse menus. Definitely coming back for seconds. Thank you very much!

Happy Hour at the bar or outside (next to the estuary and historical 1930s era draw-bridge) or at an inside table - Excellent. This afternoon we enjoyed bartender Brandon, attentive service and enjoyable conversation. Dragon Rouge is our favorite bar/restaurant for relaxing and winding down. Always feels welcoming. And what a special location!
Beautiful, bright atmosphere. Choice of outdoor seating in a patio or indoor seating with all windows. Food is not huge portions, so be aware. Several in our crew left hungry which is a shame for the price point. Service was very friendly! Phó was decent. Coconut rice in yellow curry was a bit. Shanghai noodles dish was almost only noodles, and left that orderer still hungry. Thai Iced Tea & Vietnamese Iced Coffee were good.
Nice water front patio but the cars on the bridge is loud. The food is decent. The clay pot is rather small but everything else was pretty standard.
Stopped by for some munchies by the water. We got a Butterfly Kiss and Grenade mocktails and shared some Mom's Phantasy Rolls and Mango Salad a nice view and inspiring conversation.
Have always enjoyed the al fresco drinking & dining experience on the deck overlooking the "Oakland Rivieera"at and Park St Draw Bridge available at Dragon Rouge. This was my first visit "post pandemic" and even though it was a Monday, the parking lot was full at 5PM. The public health protocols have forced all customer service onto the patio, but the indoor restrooms are available. The specialty mixed drinks were delicious as usual, but service was limited to one waitress trying to please over 10 full tables. It's lovely light at sunser, but got chilly quick as soon as the sun went down. Because the staffing was limited to a few skeleton crew members, I was rooting for the crew trying valiantly to get the checks, drinks & food service out to a full patio of customers. Interactions with staff were a little rushed because they were so slammed, so reordering refills wasn't as easy or leisurely as I've experienced 'in the good old days' there prior. Fortunately, when it came time to close our tab, we had just enough cash & a tip to pay as waiting additional time for formality of signing for credit card service woulda added more delay in freeing up our table. Always being cash folks, it often speeds things up for everyone, and also allows your server to immediately get their tip that day.

Very pricey for gentrified Vietnamese food. The food was flavorful and filling, but I feel as though it lacked the authentic flavors of Vietnamese cuisine. The garlic noodles were more like spaghetti noodles and somewhat disappointing. Not pictured, garlic fries with jalapeños and the sampler plater, Lychee tea, and strawberry lemonade. The fries were delicious but overpriced for a muggle, could have had more garlic. The sampler plate, the curry potato lumpia tasted like its made from leftover curry. The spring rolls were acceptable, there was a chicken one and a shrimp one which they did remove the black line. The lychee tea is just lychee syrup and one lychee in there but it was more pleasant than the overly sugared strawberry lemonade that just tasted like some flat fanta with a lemon wedge. Over all the food acceptable but I feel like it's just too expensive for what was served.
Dragon Rouge has a great menu and is one of the few places in Alameda that has tables along a waterway. The classics are covered here but I always love the Dragon's Nest w/ Steak & Prawns. Parking is easy with a big lot so no worries there.

I had a Claypot with pork there. The dish was not very good. I am used to delicious Claypot meals where all ingredients are baked with rice and veggies. This claypot had only meat and no flavor at all. A tiny bowl of rice came with this. Service was soso, waiter stopped bringing water after 2 glasses. Not recommended and expensive.

I love the place. The food is pretty good. But I came lately with a group of friends. That day, the restaurant was empty. There were only two other tables taken. What bothered us was the servers' insistence in getting us to place our order. There's no point in coming back 10 times in 10 minutes; we still won't know what to order, and because of this insistence, some of our friends were ready to leave.
Americanized Vietnamese food. The seafood and fish clay pot was bland and lacked the bold, traditional Vietnamese flavors. The pho was just okay—better pho in Alameda can be found at Sidestreet Pho.

The portions are small the prices are high. The bathrooms are dirty ..I used to love it here but I wont be back. To many other restaurants with much better food and bang for your buck
Completely empty during lunch rush on a Saturday was the first red flag. One of the main reasons we went here was its location along the water, so when asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside, we said outside please! And immediately were told we couldn’t… okay, then why ask us? Anyways. I was not impressed by the food at all. The “coconut rice” was horribly dry and not true coconut rice. And why was it orange?? Don’t pay the extra dollar for this. I got the mango lemongrass fried rice, which arrived lukewarm. The dish was nothing of note and in fact was just not good. There was a weird underlying flavor I couldn’t place that was off putting, and I felt incredibly underwhelmed and left the place hungry. Also, I got the tofu vegetable protein option and was given about 5 pieces of tofu and a couple small bits of broccoli and maybe one zucchini shaving. Disappointed again. Overpriced and lackluster, this place was not for me.
