Outstanding staff, great drinks, loved the oysters plate! Delicious!!! Met the owner, really nice and down to earth. Came out with friends and family and made us feel like home. If you're visiting Oakland, this is a spot you shouldn't miss.

Really nice, attentive staff. Monday night oysters were fresh and delicious. Had 12 raw and 12 broiled. The broiled oysters had a savory finish. Loved the Hibiscus Agua Fresca with cinnamon accent. We will be back for more!

We came here for a very late brunch, just before the kitchen closed at 3:30 PM, and we’re so glad we made it in time! The brunch smash burger was cooked perfectly—juicy with a great char—and the combo of grilled onions, peppers, egg, and cheese was packed with flavor. The breakfast burrito was also a hit, with a nicely flaky tortilla and satisfying texture. The salsa was bright and tangy, and the tortilla chips were freakishly good—crunchy, freshly fried, and totally addictive. We couldn’t leave without trying the bread pudding, which was like an ultra-moist slice of cinnamon challah French toast soaked in coconut cream and passion fruit. Rich, creamy, and perfectly tart—an unforgettable dessert!

Super fun bar. Came on my friend's birthday and Esther brought him out a slice of cake with a candle. Super sweet. Always a fun time at Low Bar. And they have a photo booth!

Very very tasting and I like that the menu had a shot+beer option (and mod to upgrade the whiskey). The crew was super nice, but I just wish the qr menu could connect to gpay, but makes sense to bring my card next time. A great spot for an elevated meal!

Amazing little gem! Popped in for a cocktail. Bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable. Had a few cocktails, they were nice. Only ate the shrimp tiradito and WOW 🔥🔥🔥I’ll definitely be back to eat a full meal! Update: came back and it was great. Smash burger with garlic fries, oysters, and the star…Grilled Octopus.

I LOVE Low Bar. Perfect for any nice night out. Came in for my anniversary and Allie was amazing as a server. She had a very welcoming smile and suggested the best food. Oysters were yummy. Cocktails are unbeatable in terms of flavor and uniqueness. The quesabirria is such a treat for when I crave an extra savory meal. Finally…..The octopus was one of the best things I’ve eaten. I came back a second time and Allie went above and beyond as usual. Love this place

Some new faces and dude, what a great evening we had Valentines night. freddy our bartender walked us through the drinks and delivered the pink flag and pineapple express. DJ spinning some latin bangers.

This establishment is a stone cold gas, can you dig it? I know you can. If you want a vibe; casual yet elevated this is your place. I reside in Pleasanton and anytime I come from a rehearsal or performance in Berkeley or the City, I make certain I swing by the town for Low Bar. You should too.

Came here after work for an early dinner. I shared the Low bar nachos with my friend and both of us liked it well enough. We liked the topping to chip ratio but lots of the toppings were very wet so the chips got soggy quickly. I got the pink flag cocktail and was happy that they put what glass it would be served in on the menu. The salt and pepper wings were crisp but a little too salty. My friend got the breaded fish tacos and she liked them but they came with a sauce that was very spicy

What a fun place especially for happy hour. Came here on a Tuesday and had their taco special. They have a great cocktail menu as well. What also caught our eye were the oysters.

The cocktails were yummy!! Pineapple Express and DeadBeat Summer were yummy. The oysters were fun to snack on, a little on the smaller size. We enjoyed the Garlic Fries! - 1 star - As we receive the wrong order “got normal fries instead of garlic fries and have wait for drinks for the whole party for more than 10 minutes. I would go back again if I were in the area as the host did their best to redeem the mistakes.

The tostadas were excellent, so was the bread pudding, the fish tacos lacked a bit of oomph.

This place was fine. It’s a pretty basic bar/restaurant. The location is cool, the interior is small but chill. The staff was chill and laid back. The tequila selection is pretty mid. I had a great time because of the company I was with, but the food and drinks were just ok. There was nothing wrong with this place but there also wasn’t any reason I’d be dying to go back. If you’re just looking for a spot to drink and meet with people I think this spot is great. But for a fun and interesting meal? Probably not. It’s downtown Oakland so parking isn’t easy.

Had an okay time - the environment is very nice, well designed/decorated, and there's a nice general ambiance. I really enjoyed the food , but here is where the experience fell apart. We ordered appetizers and two mains. We waited an incredibly long time for the orders to come out. Finally, one appetizer came out, then one main quickly followed... and we waited another long stretch before the second main came out, which meant one of us had to wait while his food got cold. The second appetizer came out significantly later than the second main. It was just an odd way to receive an order, and we were one of only three parties seated, so it couldn't have been because the kitchen was busy. Overall would go back again but probably just for cocktails and small bites, not a seated dining experience.

Very disappointing experience. The first time I went, the happy hour deal was different on two different menus and unclear. I did not say anything. The second time I went, they forced a 20% service for our group of six. I did not see this posted anywhere that this would be the case and even if it was posted, I have no idea how this would be justified at all. The food is already very expensive ($17 for two tacos) AND we had to go up to the bar to ask for the server two times. They hardly came around and we sat without water for a while. We had to ask for water refills twice. The place was not even packed. This is very unfortunate as the place is very well decorated and are a fan of one of the bartenders. Sitting at a table for food is a no go. What a disappointment to a nice night.

I will say the atmosphere is good, however if you want a bite to eat this is not the place. We had the fish tacos and the mission burger. First of all, fish tacos were not good and we got food poisoning. Secondly the burger, not what I was expecting. Very messy burger that I would expect from a fast food place. For a sit down not so much. Will not be going back.

I really wanted to enjoy my experience at Low Bar, especially after reading the menu and visiting the website. The descriptions are inviting and set high expectations—but unfortunately, the actual experience didn’t live up to them. Service was the biggest disappointment. After being seated, there was a long wait before anyone acknowledged our table. When the food finally arrived, our main dishes were served before the appetizer, which took away from the flow of the meal. Throughout the evening, it was also difficult to get assistance or request extra items, as staff attention was limited and inconsistent. The food itself was okay—not bad, but not memorable enough to offset the service issues. With better pacing, attentiveness, and communication from the staff, the overall experience could be significantly improved. Low Bar has potential, and the concept is solid, but service and attention to guests need real improvement to match what is promised online. I hope they take this feedback seriously, because with better execution, this could be a much stronger dining experience.

I had a really disappointing experience at Low Bar in downtown Oakland. I arrived around 10 PM, which is usually their late-night happy hour, but the bartender, Isaac, didn’t offer or mention the happy hour menu at all. About an hour later, when I was getting ready to close out my tab, he approached me and told me I was “too drunk” for another drink and that I was being aggressive. This completely caught me off guard because I was dining alone, keeping to myself, and not bothering anyone. It felt confusing and honestly a bit disrespectful. I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was being singled out or discriminated against for no clear reason. Brianna, on the other hand, was very nice and professional, but Isaac’s behavior really ruined the experience. I live in the Uptown district and regularly visit bars and restaurants in the area, none of them have ever treated me this way. I personally recommend checking out other nearby spots where the service is more welcoming and consistent.
