Red A Bakery Alameda Reviews
Well-sized dim sum, quality in the taste and bite. Har Gao, with water chestnut in filling — a nice textural touch. Pork and Shrimp Siu Mai, chunks of shrimp make for a nice crunch. Steamed Pork Buns, on the sweet side, but meaty with minimal fat.
The most delicious, perfect way to start the new year on New Year’s Day 2024 in San Francisco, California, is delicious, warm, mouthwatering shrimp won ton soup with giant dumplings at this restaurant named Red A Dim Sum.
We got the pork cabbage bao from here. The bao was really good, filled with pork and crunchy cabbage. They also sell the baos in the freezer! They server hot dishes like wonton soup noodles, loco moco, spam musubi. Plenty of seating as well! Come here for a quick bite.
I liked the food - it's not too heavy and they have a ready to go options. Took different dumplings - all are tasty
Hawaiian spare rib plate is good. Very tender and delicious.

The food is so tasty. The cashier recommended sticky rice with chicken which was delicious. She also gave us rice cakes free, so nice of her. Everything we got was great.
. Pleasantly surprised. Walked around to look for a place to have lunch. Stopped at Red A Bakery. Chose to have a hamburger and fries and WOW super good, not salty, sogging or long wait. They were jamming so many people and so many orders.
The pork buns and musubi were so good
I'm a regular here, I always get the spam massubi; it's to die for, and fish sandwich which is really good. I occasionally get some baked goods, sponge cake, hotdog bun, & etc. Would definitely recommend and try their massubi.
Great value and really good Hawaiian plate lunch. Had a bbq combo plate between two people and were both full after. Looking forward to coming back! Can’t wait to try the spam musubi next time, saw a guy order one extra crispy and he gave us a knowing nod.
Loved the marinated cucumber (wong gwa), beef rice roll (ngou cheung fun), and meat and vegetable bao (tsoi yook bao).
One of the best value restaurants on Clement, decent sized menu, I particularly enjoyed and would recommend the musubi
this is a great mom and pop shop. we ordered shrimp and pork shumai, shanghai soup dumplings (xiao long bao), crab rangoons, and potstickers. everything was great and as expected. dough on potstickers and xiao long bao tasted delicious but we’re a little thick, which was good for the xiao long bao since the dough didn’t break and let out soup.

So good and so BIG. We gobbled these down. Dim sum itch scratched for the week. One star off for the fog of flies hovering in the dining area, which made us change our order from dine-in to takeout after brief consideration. If you don’t mind waiting a few minutes in mild discomfort, PERFECT. So yummy. One spam musubi not pictured.

A bakery that sells Chinese pastries and they also sell Hawaiian food, like BBQ mix, chicken katsu, and various musabi. It's a bit hidden from the street as a parklet blocks the entrance, if you're driving by and looking for it. Decent Hawaiian food on this side of the city if you're craving it.
The Hamburgers here are not bad, they also had buns and serve Chinese food
Large variety of Asian pastries such as egg tarts, cakes, breads, and much more. Among the exotic choices are pastries filled with velvety smooth sweet bean paste, lotus, and melon. Absolutely delicious but an acquired taste for sure. For now you can get savory plates to go such as Loco Moco, spam musubi, chicken or pork katsu and other Hawaiian specialties. The prices are quite reasonable for all these tasty fare but for takeout only at this time.

I honestly really like a couple items from this establishment. I only took the rating down to a three because it is upsetting they dont allow you to customize your order by adding a side of macoroni salad without ordering a whole hawaiian plate. The items I like the most and recomend to anyone are the hawaiian bbq chicken sandwich, marinated black fungus, and the har gow. The cucumber salad is also good. Please add the option to get a side of mac salad!!!

Floor, tables are dirty. Flies everywhere. Steam dim sums are not hot enough. Wonton noodles are soggy. Wonton wraps are also soggy. The soup are tasteless. The soy sauce on the table are spoiled ( I don't know how long they have been using the same bottle without cleaning). Sorry, but will not recommend or come back again.
I usually get dim sum at Good Luck. Unfortunately, on this visit, Good Luck was out of baked pork buns. I tried another bakery on the corner but they too were out. Red A bakery was the third place I tried. I was going to buy 6 buns but ended up buying 8 (because they looked so good). Biting into one was very disappointing. The pork had an unpleasant “old” taste to it. I was really craving a tasty pork bun and biting into one that left a bad taste in my mouth was a real let down. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Red A Bakery. Ever!
