The Bitter End Alameda Reviews
Martina and Pascal are the main bartenders here. Usually on different nights. They are just Epic. This place has that understated cool vibe that only comes from being in business a really long time. I believe since the 70's. It's quite dive-bar-y, but it's also such a great hang out, who cares. Excellent Tues. Nite trivia party. Get the chicken sandwich. It's terrific. Very tasty. All the good stuff. Nice selection of draught beers and ciders and aged whisky.
Great atmosphere, great music. We ordered fish and chips and a Bitter End Burger. The food came out hot and was really good. This place also have 2 pool tables upstairs.
One of the proper dive/neighborhood bar with pool tables and fuse ball on second floor.. Definitely has some soul in it…
Trivia nights on Tuesdays are awesome !! Pitchers of beer are pretty affordable for sf. 24 dollars a pitcher.
Love this comfy divey neighborhood bar! Great bartenders and good food menu variety.
Although a sort of incident happened, but I appreciate the manager’s hospitality and kindness. I will come here again.
We had the fish and chips and shepherd's pie. They split it for us. Also had martinis

This place has surprisingly good food at great prices! The drinks are super affordable, too. They have calamari on the menu, and I'm not mad at it. I order it often, actually. Nothing fancy here, so if you're a cocktail person, you'll be disappointed. However, they will make you one if you ask. Keep it simple. The bar staff are awesome. Seriously. They're the best. You can sit and chat or go upstairs and play pool. There are also tables and a fireplace in the corner, so you can work or read if that's your style. Overall, it's a great neighborhood spot for an easy night and some food.
By far the best bar in San Francisco. There are no words to describe Martina and the important conversations you’ll have with her. She’s the kind of person you’ll be thinking about for a long time after your first encounter. The bar is so unique with its mezzanine level, pool tables, darts boards and amazing selection of whiskeys. We were sad to leave this place at the end of a long and beautiful night, but we’ll be back for sure. Thank you Martina, for everything xxx
Super chill spot. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the neighborhood. They have 2 pool tables upstairs. Unfortunately they were out of chalk when we were there.. Definitely affected my game.. good times and vibes.
You must try the guava cider and fish and chips with the mushy peas! I dont know why I liked the peas so much, but I did. Pascal is a great bartender and makes sure youre taken care of and does it with such warmth. Definitely come here for free games of pool on Mondays and trivia on Tuesdays and Wednesdays!
Best trivia in SF! Come early to get a seat and order yourself a bacon avocado burger and a pitcher if you don’t want to keep getting up for drinks. Fast service and good vibes. Thanks Tim for hosting trivia and having great questions!

This dodgey Tim guy behind the bar was actually pretty cool. Top man, manning a first rate bar. 10/10 would drink again. ❤️

What a lovely bar! And most importantly, what lovely bartenders! Nothings makes me happier than friendly bartender women!!! Kudos! We stopped here for some finger food and drinks during happy hour while waiting for our table at Burma - so close and convenient if you have to wait for table at your restaurant. Nice house wine, lovely IPAs and finger food - don't have too much of the batter fried stuff cause it's quite heavy :P. Had a great time, will be back again for sure!
This is one of my favorite bars in the city. It has the look and feel of the perfect local neighborhood bar. Very good and will proceed food menu Long time bar tenders bring an old school vibe. But if I am being honest, the place could use some sprucing up.
Nice little bar, with a cool vibe. Price are interesting I paid 21 dollars for a mudslide and a long island iced tea. Pretty chill and laid back vibe. They have happy hour until 7 with 5 dollar beers.
Absolutely loved this place when I lived in the Inner Richmond. It's a mix of Irish pub and classic dive bar. The drinks were always cheap, normal pub grub, bar games and sports on the TV. It's a great place to catch the San Francisco Giants play and have a beer with friends. It's also a great place to play some billiards or darts, both of which are on the second floor. Lastly, they had an awesome Trivia night on Tuesdays, but make sure you get there early because it fills up quickly. Last but not least, the same bar tenders were always there and always a delight. Good people all around.
Fun little neighborhood staple dive bar. Decent selection of draft beer and liquor - never had the food, but it often smells good!

Old school Irish pub in Little China-Inner Richmond. Good spot for beers & cocktails. More spacious than it looks with stool & window seating. Bartender could've been more friendly & approachable. She seems to be accomodating towards the regulars. Still decent here & low key on weekdays.

Unfortunately, had quite bad service on a recent visit. Have been here many times before and usually love it. Came in for happy hour, asked a couple clarifying questions about the happy hour deal and attempted to make friendly conversation; terse and unfriendly responses to everything. (Mind you there are 3-4 people in the bar--these are not peak hours.) Quite the opposite of the desired outcome when you visit a neighborhood joint at the end of a long day (in otherwise good spirits). I understand that everyone's entitled to their day--even a bad one--but feels a little silly to spend money in a bar that draws the service line at pouring you a beer. Hoping for a better experience next time!

I came in with an out of state ID and they refused my entrance; claiming my ID was fake. Ironically used it to fly twice in the last month. Almost positive the security gaurd with a Red Cap on 6/24 lied about being manger. If he was a manger; he was incredibly rude and incompetent. If you’re a tourist/have an out of state ID avoid this place like the plague .EDIT: my group of 10 left the bar immediately after the rude and unprofessional treatment; walked 5 minutes to Lost Marbles bar and they were incredibly kind, had amazing cosmos and lemon drops, and super homey and had a much more open space.
