At Rite Spot Cafe, we're a cozy corner of Alameda where friends and strangers come together to savor good drinks, local art, and live jazz. We're a self-described dive bar with a warm atmosphere that feels like coming home. Our menu features basic Italian fare, but it's the little touches - like our specialty pasta dishes made fresh in-house - that make us stand out. Regulars rave about our attentive service, which always seems to be just right: not too eager, not too slow. Whether you're a local or just passing through, we invite you to grab a seat at the bar and stay awhile.

Rite Spot Cafe Alameda Reviews
Great Place! Relaxed atmosphere with good live music and excellent service. The food tastes home made and the prices are low. Can't ask for more :)
The Ritespot is a great spot to grab a bit, meet some friends and listen to not-so-loud sf originals play their music. Crooners to swoon to. Punk rock piano covers. The occasional accordion. Grab a choco and some fries and fall in love on your first date.
Far better than I expected. Old dive bar where they're doing really great food these days. Great staff. Inexpensive. Well worth a visit
Good music, dive-ey vibe, reasonably priced drinks - honestly a combo hard to find these days. (The Page comes to mind, but the vibe is totally different)
Like Starbucks and Peet's everyday.but this is Sunday morning special tea And cakes before church Gotta committ some kind of sin or what's the point of going. Not sure what the hell else I'm really doing bad. Or let alone the last EVIL THING I EVER DID WAS .,. Then again that's prolly cuz I stay in god's house, other wise I would either be in D-mans huss or outside wit tha real devil's delite. Really bad peep live really hardcore. Half man half beast. What once was first an innocent animal, awoke and became man in so much as it could distinguish between good an evil, then beast as he choose to not really question Wich was Wich, then an abomination once this distorted way of thinking ripens after 20 yrs, now just how darkly that daddy has become just depends on the environment it was concieved. Yes it's infinity powerful, but not if it doesn't believe that, then it is what ever I say it is, nevermore will it be unless I will it to. Like being enslaved it is really real and easier then u think.
My favorite diveish bohemian bar. Great music, always something different. Never a cover never a line.
Sassy but classy service, nice foods, real ingredients and real people. Real music too. PLEASE don't talk over the bass solo. =]
A SF institution as far as I'm concerned. One of the few non- pretentious places let you can have a meal, a drink, and live music every night of the week
Great live music. Nice and comfortable spot
Great Drinks! Staff is super nice 😊❤️ Live music - check it out!
Amazing food, even better happy hour drink specials. One of the best low-key spots in the Mission.
It was sooooo nice to hear some fun live music. They are really nice here, I will def be coming back
Great bar and food, great Tuesday nite Beatles karaoke!
Excellent spot to grab a beer and see some great live music. This will definitely become a spot that I frequent.
Dropped in for a event put together by Opera on Tap. Divas and drinks. Is there a better combination? I think not.
Lovely little bar-slash-restaurant; anything but fancy, but if that's what you want, both the food and drinks will be exactly what you need.
We've gotten take out hamburgers from this bar twice and both times they were really good! The new people running rite spot and working there are very friendly. Went there a couple of times for drinks and snacks too and we're very satisfied
Good music with good eats make this an indispensable Mission cultural outpost for decades. The Rite Spot got ahead of the curve & kicked the covid buzzkill to the curb and began serving outdoors. Their new parklets has practically doubled capacity, and kept their indomitable spirit alive despite the odds being against them.
You'll meet the coolest folks here, and hear the most likable band, and enjoy drinks from the most authentic bartenders in the city. Rite Spot, may you never change.
Opera on tap performs here monthly on Sunday nights. I enjoy drinking a ginger beer whilst listening to live opera music with super titles. Credit card is accepted for total orders above $10? Bring cash.
Favorite place to kick it with the homies! Great live music pretty much every night, and the bartenders are all smokin hot 🔥
Live music (!) in an old fashioned and cozy pub bar restaurant with wooden furniture and white table cloths. Good selection of comfort food, good deals, reasonably priced. Street parking in an artsy district.
Great, relaxed pub. Good drinks, friendly laid back staff, good food. Great local musicians play here on a regular basis. One of our favorite spots 🙂
Perfect neighborhood spot to grab a drink and indulge in some live music. The food is equally fantastic.

One of the best bars in the city. The service is top-notch, and the place nails that rare balance: a dive-ish bar dressed with white tablecloths, serving genuinely legit food. Highbrow meets lowbrow in the best way. There’s almost always live music—and if you come on the right night, it’s very hard to leave.
Food is great. Bartenders are amazingly creative and very personable. Their live entertainment is crazy on point....do not miss out on this hidden gem!
You want a good meal and quality cocktails while listening to great music in a classic San Francisco ambiance? Go here. Wonderful staff, laid back vibe... it's the kind of "local" we all wish we had in our neighborhood.
Great spot with live music, decent prices and a good amount of personality. It's a great escape from the general hip scene and the crowd trends to skew older. I love it but your mileage may vary depending on taste.
Much improved since my last visit years ago. Now serving decent food with very good live music. The bands playing the night I was there had good-natured enthusiastic followings who knew some of the original songs which made for a fun evening.
Very good food for what seems like a drive bar. Decent cocktails, too. Beatles live karaoke on the first Tuesday every month is a lot of fun. A really wonderful neighborhood spot.
$3 draft pints? The price is rite! Started coming to this spot a few months ago when I realized it was a neighborhood bar & cafe. The many times I've passed by it always looked closed. The crowd that coming are local folks and many native San Franciscans. The beer selection is pretty good and the food is tasty. The fried ravioli and chicken parm are my fave food items from this place. Bar tenders such as Christina and Taylor are super chill. If you're in the mission, check it out.
I play a game sometimes. What location would i like to haunt for the rest of time. What place is likely to exist a thousand years from now? While the location of the rite spot might only make a sentimental top ten, for this century, it is at the top. Great little old school San Francisco dive bar with interesting jazz, stiff drinks, no cover. Find me at the bar, half way down, drinking Manhattans the way Annie made them, old overholt and long on the vermouth in a modest single up glass.
Great neighborhood bar. Live music and good bites
It was probably no hands down is the best part of the night. Nobody seems to be upset that we were rolling around on the sidewalk singing at the top of our lungs well really yelling at invisible voices in her head about them killing each other and being from the military experiments that are teaching people how to jump into other people's bodies, it was deep very deep and I was eating fried chicken from the gas station inside their little covid annex thing and like a few people drove by but didn't notice that I was using it as a makeshift loo :-) The only downside was that our phones ride a battery our power packs were out of battery and yeah we were just like without any power or juice or power juice
The Rite Spot...is just that. Great selection of bevs, including vino. Divey but classy eats... Ample space. Live Music. Friendly, courteous, and kind staff. This is a great spot for us locals who remember what it was to pull up a stool or chair at your favorite spot and just imbibe with friends. When old haunts fell to the influx and redux all over...(which sadly changed this fine city) many would refer to their old favorite as the only hope, only to see it evolve, change, perhaps shutter--sometimes for better, alas mostly for worse...in the Rite Spot...the line from Empire rings true..."-There is [this is] another..." A long history behind it, and hopefully--i hope--a long history yet to come, this bar is proximally located near all the accoutrements one needs or wants in this town, but is fortunately removed enough from the deadly influence that has caused so many other establishments to fail, or become off-putting memories of what once was. Disclaimer to the self-proclaimed Tech-bros/sisters: Please feel free to grab a drink but do shove on to your destination elsewhere... **This is not a spot for the next-gen faux-cals** (Thank goodness 🐍😋)

Ambiance in Cozy, authentic, classy & real. Enjoyed hot flavorful linguine Alta RieSpot and local Speakeasy Porter. Music highlight of evening - Craig Ventresco ragtime guitar work is exceptional and the vocals by Meredith Axelrod on 3 songs took me to a place out of time!
I didn't come here for dinner, not reviewing the food. Good live, local performers. Drinks are usual City prices, beware cover is built in.
Quiet spot for locals to grab a simple drink. The service is a bit slow, but friendly. It really is a dive bar. They also have tables and serve food
Nice quiet bar (at least the times I've attended), the right smattering of dive. Be wary, though, they are known to close pretty early if it's a slow night.
Good beers on tap, good live music. Didn't have any food
Wonderful live music performances. Excellent food. Many vegetarian options. Pleasant atmosphere.
They always have such great artists playing here. Their drinks are... really weird so I'd recommend sticking to beer, but I have so many great memories of this place. Nice chill spot to watch a band.
This place is a hidden gem. They have great live music and good food.

Love this place. There 8 to 10 times a month to see various friends perform here.

The comics all said contribute what you can when they passed the hat, but the bartender kept asking us to tip. Not smooth at all.
The interior is nice and has a good atmosphere. It's a hybrid restaurant-bar type of situation and the service is light. The food is decent and there are some interesting beers but the prices are pretty high. Overall it's nothing too special.
Met some friends on a Friday night. It is awesome that they have free live music but it was so LOUD that I couldn't even enjoy. It made my head hurt. The space is too small for the volume. The wings I ordered were excellent. Prices were good as well. I would return for the wings with no music.
Cocktails are a bit pricey for this dive at $11-12. Like that they serve drinks and w live band plays most nights. The wait staff is awesome.

I initially had a good impression of the bar. However, the bartender didn't warn me when I ordered shots of Bacardi that they were going to be $30 per shot. Imagine my face at the end of the night getting three beers and three shots for a group of three people and having a bill for $109.
