SF Kebab Alameda Reviews
Light-filled Eastern Mediterranean counter-serve dolling out Turkish kebabs, Lebanese salads and select Greek specialties (i.e. moussaka). Lamb and Beef Gyro wrap, classically good, well-seasoned protein served on griddled and fluffy pita; a side of spiced French fries, a must. Bustling lunch crowd, conveniently located across the street from Chase Stadium and within UCSF Medical Campus. When the sun is shining, make sure to catch some tan on the patio.
Everything was so delicious and the staff was very helpful and kind. Kunefe with Ice-cream was amazing. I highly recommend.
The chicken gyro plate is the best thing on the menu. Chicken is juicy and flavorful.
We shared a mezze plate and a lamb kebab. Everything was truly delicious. We enjoyed every bite. It was a nice evening so we sat outside under the trees. Very nice location in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the Chase center. We will definitely be back.
Came here for a quick snack before my pregnancy ultrasound appointment. So delicious, I got the falafel wrap, amazing taste and fresh. Me and my growing baby thank you for the deliciousness 😋 💓
As a chef, I truly loved the food and the desserts. The dishes reflected the richness of Kurdish cuisine, and the warm hospitality inspired by Kurdish culture was beautiful. Thank you so much—everything was excellent.
A wonderful discovery while having to visit UCSF Mission Bay. Easy walking distance from the parking lot and wonderful, authentic Mediterranean flavors.
Most delicious, authentic Adana Kebap, superb hospitality by the owner; fast, efficient staff with big hearts and big smiles ... Clean, quiet atmosphere, with plenty of comfortable seating... Big portions reasonably priced ... Short distance from Muni, the Chase Center.
Super tasty Turkish food that is as close to the ones you would find in Türkiye. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and organized dining area with indoor and outdoor seating. Great place to experience life in Türkiye in an afternoon.
The dining space (available both inside and also widely outside) is pretty diverse here. Whether you're looking to dine alone and stay connected on laptop, or with a friend and chat, or be festive with a group of friends or coworkers, this place has a spot or corner for you. The host is very friendly, the food is pretty tasty and the wait time is pretty reasonable too. I remember in a visit I was with a friend and we were really appreciative of finding this nice seemingly Turkish kebab spot, I guess the host was pretty appreciative of this recognition and offered us fresh free "appreciation tea" :) thank you!
This is one of my favorite dining places in SF since the outside area is so pretty and expansive around the building. (The main photo is not the pretty area.) Also, I requested vegan food and they made a special eggplant wrap for me that was so fresh and delicious. My friends enjoyed their meat wraps, too. Was open even on New Year's Eve.
One of the most hospitable places I’ve ever been to! The owner is incredibly responsible, respectful, and makes you feel genuinely welcome. The restaurant is also one of the cleanest I’ve seen — everything from the dining area to the kitchen setup is spotless. We ordered the family-style mixed plate, which was absolutely delicious. It came with a generous portion of lamb, beef, and chicken skewers, plus gyros, rice, and salad. To top it off, the owner kindly offered us complimentary dessert and tea, which was such a thoughtful touch. There was so much food that we ended up taking plenty home with us. Highly recommended!
Absolutely a delicious hidden gem. The food was so fresh and the beef kebab was to die for! The naan bread was extremely fresh and went perfectly with the fresh tzatziki sauce they have. They had a foosball table to play on while waiting on the food. Overall a great experience and would recommend it to anyone. Oh and their baklava hits the spot as well!
While looking for a place to eat before the Golden State Warriors game at the Chase Center, we found this restaurant located a block away. Not really noticeable if driving by because the trees are blocking the sign. A lot of Mediterranean dishes to select, but ended up selecting the mixed grill for four. Although not descriptive in the menu, this includes a salad, pita chips, rice, and a whole ton of delicious grilled meats including chicken, Lamb, beef, and meatballs. For this combo meal, you better come hungry.
This place is some of the best fast casual middle eastern food I have had. The lamb/beef shwarma is amazing, even better when you go at a slower time so you get more of the crunchy bits. Recommend getting the combo plate and the falafel to get a chance to try everything. More than enough food for 2 people! The owner is also awesome. He saw I was coming from the hospital next door (children's hospital) and congratulated me on the birth of my child with a champagne flute of beer. Was really appreciated.
Good food, huge portions. Not really kid friendly for picky eaters, but if you like flavor come here. Clean spacious enough. It's busy so keep that in mind.
I waited 30+ minutes for a salad. I wanted to dine in but I wasted my whole lunch break and was not a happy camper. Apparently the grilled chicken skewers take 30 minutes to cook. I asked for the salad to go and a kind gentleman (maybe the manager?) told me next time to get the sliced gyro chicken and that it would be faster. He also offered me free baklava to try. I ordered the milk pudding as well, which was ok. That being said... the chicken was delicious. Tender, juicy, great flavor. Only 3 pieces though, for $7. And the Greek salad was $13, which made it nearly $23 total after tax. This was not a $23 salad. Not even CLOSE. I guess that's just to be expected in the area since it's across from the Chase Center. But I won't lie, I was pretty disappointed with the size of the dish and the time it took. I appreciated the baklava gesture but couldn't eat it (gluten), so I gave it to a co-worker. 4 stars because of yummy chicken and kind gesture from manager, but waaaaay overpriced.
Tried the Chicken Gyro Wrap! The chicken was a bit dry but overall taste of it is pretty good. The ambiance, vibe and the staff is very friendly and peaceful. Definitely could hang out with friends or work buddies if you work nearby! The adjoining parking lot is $5/hr, all for the convenience! Outdoor seating is great too. Recommended
Lentils soup is good. There are vegetarian options available in every section. Indoor and outdoor seating. Nearby to chase center and UCSF. There is a nearby UCSF 3rd street garage. There is also a foosball to play. There are small and big tables to accommodate various gatherings. Service was quick. Lot of meat options available as well. Lots of drinks and soft drinks available.
Nice big space with tall glass windows. So lots of sunlight. Doors remained open and good air circulation. The place is well maintained. Big wood tables and sturdy chairs. The service is wonderful too. The cashier welcomed us with a big smile and was helpful with explaining the menu. Now for the food review. It wasn't great. I had the Adana plate which is a rice plate with grilled spiced ground lamb patty. The rice looked like Chinese takeout fried rice with green peas and carrots. Not very authentic. The pita bread was so dry that the knife couldn't cut through it. The pickled red onions were good. The salad was very fresh and tasty. The Adana lamb was well seasoned and had flavor. But it was really dry and tough. Rubbery. Again the knife struggled to get through this. I've had this dish before many times but never had I had this much trouble cutting it up. So overall I'm going to say give this dish a miss. May come back again because it is so close to the bay and Chase Center but may try something else.
We ordered Chicken gyro and Lamb2beef gyro wrap. This place used to be good, but have detoriated significantly in service and taste. Gyro tasted bland , no sauce, no onion. Just some pulled chicken with cabbage and lettuce. side sauce was salty with no taste to complement the wrap. Pathetic experience, will never come back
I’m so sorry, but are spices even in the room with us? Do spices exist here? Because these are the most bland kebab and gyro I have ever tried and they don’t come cheap too! The beef and lamb gyro was also dry! The lamb kebab was chewy and the rice was soggy (they don’t use basmati rice too). I appreciate that they served a piece of bread (that’s cold, dry, and as hard as a rock btw) but why are you pairing it with the SALTIEST chili sauce I have ever had - that was such an odd pairing. And how can you mess up chili sauce??? 😭 Extremely disappointing. I would probably be happier eating instant ramen than pay $50+ for something so MID AT BEST - edible if you’re desperate and you don’t have a choice. 10/10 would not go back here and would never recommend this place. Honestly, if it weren’t for the location, this restaurant would not last long. Edit: How did this place get 4.4 stars? Unbelievable - it’s either people in SF have terrible taste or these reviews were bought or written by bots.
