Shirasoni Alameda Reviews
Last night I had a delightful meal and drink at Shirasoni. The Tempura Combo was delicious. Light batter, tender veggies and tasty shrimp and chicken. The Amaretto Sour was perfection. All of the staff I encountered was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend. Tuesday nights are a bit slower than others.
We had the Spicy Chicken with veggies and garlic rice. It was Delicious 😋, can't wait to go back.
Came in today for the 49ers game, sat on the sushi side and had an excellent service from this young lady Valeria. She was attentive and on top of things! Definitely coming back
Took the advice of a great friend. For a special bday I was celebrating. Getting our table was easy, made a reservation which is best to do for this place and they dont seat you till your whole party shows. The cook, we got did a magic trick and made jokes. Everything was brought out and made to perfection. I got the salmon and steak, with garlic rice. The veggies were cooked how I like with a little crunch to it seasoned well. Along with some very well made drinks to start the evening right for me. Eveything was well worth the price l, service was great our waiter checked on us several time throught our time which I think is always great customer service. My guest all loved their food and yes you will be taken left overs out to your home. It's still good the next day. What ever sauce they give you get extra. Will be back to drink the fish bowl recommended by another guest on my visit.
East Bay Retirees go there every year for out Christmas Luncheon and the chiefs, the staff are nice and friendly. Love the place. They were attentive and always checking to see if we needed anything. Dr Linda B
Experience was nice and surely above 👆🏼 average compared to other Japanese restaurants. Keep your eyes 👀 on the amount of Sauces they dump on the food 🍱 because it can be overwhelming if your not a salt/sodium fan like me. Cool 😎 vibes and enjoyable time but it’s like you need to remind them about things over and over again. Ordered sake 🍶 and it came halfway through the entire meal 🥘??? Nonetheless, the atmosphere was ok 👍 and the ambiance wad nice too😊 Outside has ample parking and is even pleasurable to walk around to enjoy the the outdoor scenery.
Really enjoyed this place!! Celebrated family birthdays and had a lot of fun! Great, fresh food. We shared the steak and shrimp combo meal & it was PLENTY of food! I think it's very affordable for the type & amount of food offered. But hubby's plate BROKE in the middle of his meal!! Fortunately, they KNEW that wasn't OK & remade a new plate with another steak & veggies. Will definitely return again❣❣👍
Love this place. My kids even more than I. I’m pretty satisfied whenever I get food and a show lol call me old fashioned I guess. But he staff is great ambiance really sets the mood. And the food is awesome. As well as the last few chefs we’ve had. Pretty good show man and love how well they interact with the groups.
Service: We were attended to/ sat down very quickly. Received our order fast. Food is pretty okay. If you don't like raw sushi, they have it clearly labeled which one is raw and which is cooked. Cleanliness: The two times I have been here the table has been a little sticky and there was food spilled under the table. Dishware is clean though. Atmosphere: More like sports bar vibes. Pretty loud/ echoey. Multiple flat screens with movies and/or sports playing. Price: 20% gratuity is included. Rolls are typically around $12, but the lion king roll was $19 which I found pretty expensive compared to other sushi restaurants. Overall I would go back because service is good and your order comes fast.
We sat at a table and not the grill because we had a show to go see. Ok, bartender was very helpful, came to our table to talk about drinks and his recommendation. Our Server on the other could have cared less, and acted like we were bothering her socializing time. BIG REASON WHY AUTOMATIC Service fees (aka tips) hurt the customer service aspect. You don't get any. We shouldn't have to chase them down for boxes or the bill.. now lets get to the food. Wife's Filet under cooked, my NY steak was over cooked. Everything else was ok, not the best and the worst. And of course it is pricey..
Pretty bad experience last night at Shirasoni Japanese Restaurant Alameda last night. Granted, it was Valentine's day, but still . 1. I wanted a particular seat so I could stretch out my right leg due to recent knee replacement surgery. The staff member refused to do it because they didn't want empty seats between us and another party that was already seated. Except there wouldn't have been any empty seats, because there was another party about to be seated at the same time as us; it was just a matter of where we, and the other still-standing party, would sit. They actually had to get a manager involved so I could sit where I wanted to. 2. We had a coupon for a free appetizer, up to $12 value. The only restriction was that it couldn't be combined with other offers. Nothing on the coupon said anything about restrictions for Valentine's Day. Staff said they weren't sure and would check, but did NOT say we couldn't use it when they took the order, so we ordered an appetizer. And then at the end of the meal, they refused to honor the coupon. 3. None of the single teppanyaki dishes were available; you could only get combo dishes (e.g. chicken & filet mignon). Issue is not a limited menu for V-Day, because chicken, filet mignon, shrimp, we're all still available. You could modify a combo dish to get two of the same item, but doing so was a lot more expensive than the regular price for a single dish. 4. The kid's order of filet mignon tasted funny. . Overall, a really negative experience.
The food was cool but the atmosphere was atrocious!!! The party next to us actually started a food fight and were not removed from the restaurant. This was after multiple complaints from other groups prior to the food fight.
Place was a staple in our family Birthday tradition. But this last go around the place had changed. It was noticeably more expensive and the service and quality of the food had noticeably dropped off. Automatic gratuity added and then you are easily fooled at check out time because there is another line for gratuity. It has gotten out of hand and I am extremely sad to report we will no longer be patronizing this establishment any longer. I am sure they are ben out of shape over it….. But hey if enough of you do the same they will improve. I just cant reward mediocre performance….
Food was ok. Nothing special. A lot of the sushi rolls have cream cheese, which i don't like. Service was pretty slow for only a few tables being busy (went for lunch). Then they hit you with an automatic 20% Service charge for dinning in, which i missed as you walk into the restaurant.
We used to come here a lot when we lived in Alameda. Went back after couple of years for a late lunch. We ordered sushi and the shrimp tempura. The taste was quite bland. Not sure what’s lacking. Though presentation still looks good. They also add 20% service charge to your check regardless of how many people in your party (3 of us and we were charged $23 service fee) considering it took a while for the server to take our order, no one even bother checking on us while eating. We asked for our check and gave us the wrong one. They weren’t even busy at that time since it’s already passed lunch time. We were disappointed.
It's been like 3 or 4 years but I couldn't forget my experience here. I was an Asian woman in her late 20s walking in towards the left for the regular menu, not hibachi which is to the right. It was completely empty the area and I saw on a booth fit for a 4 top. I was meeting a friend there and he had came shortly. Before he did, the Asian lady who worked there in her late 30s or early 40s told me where I was sitting was for a bigger party & told me to move to a smaller table which I obliged. I told her a friend is coming but still, she told me to move. 2 minutes later, 2 black women sat in the very same spot I had been and the server lady did not dare tell them to move. I'm not sure if she was ageist or scared of them, but whatever it was it was terrible service to say the least. Shame on her for treating any patrons no matter their skin color, gender, sexual orientation, or age that way.
