Taksim Alameda Reviews
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! My husband and I went to Taksim tonight to celebrate our anniversary. First, the manager and staff paid wonderful attention to us and made sure we were comfortable and ready to celebrate. They made us feel special from the moment we sat down. We ordered two cocktails (55 t and the Galata) and the tasting menu. I feel like normally with a tasting menu there are some dishes you enjoy over others or maybe some you don’t care for at all - tonight we loved everything we tasted! A special note to the decor and the opportunity to sit at the bar and see the open kitchen crew work their magic. Run, don’t walk, next time you need a special place to eat!
We were looking for something unique and in a neighborhood we don't spend a lot of time in, and were so happy to stumble across Taksim. As soon as we walked in, the smells of deliciousness hit our noses. The staff were very welcoming and also brought over a carrot/ginger soup shot as a little welcome item which was a very nice touch. Throughout the meal the service was stellar. The food itself was also very good. The flower bread is super soft, airy and the sumac butter just takes it to a whole new level. The dip trio was also a very good idea. You've had these dips before I'm sure, but Taksim's are even better. The cocktails and wine list are also impressive with some winners along the way. The Black Salt Blaze and the Peachy Bazaar were both very good! Can't wait tot go back!!
A must go. The food was amazing and reminded me of the flavors in Turkey. Go for the 7 course tasting menu which is great value.
Lovely welcoming staff worked with us through some health issues affecting our reservation. Actually very flexible and accommodating, gave great advice on drinks and menu. Food was spectacular—delicious and memorable. Patlican, Manti and crunchy shrimps were sooooo good, we also had shish kebab, branzino and lamb chops. Artsy decor, felt friendly; we are locals who will love to return to try the rest of the menu!
Taksim was an incredible dining experience. I tried the tasting menu and was genuinely inspired by the cauliflower dish, absolutely floored by the kabobs, and completely blown away by the chocolate dessert. We stopped by after a Giants game and although I wish I had dressed up a bit more, the staff was welcoming and warm. The service was just as outstanding as the food. Highly recommend this spot.
One of the best meals I have had in SF, Taksim is a rare case where the price meets the quality. Multiple dishes here were outstanding, including the lamb carpaccio, lamb chops, and their challah bread and hummus platter. Just delicious The other dishes were good to great, and overall it was a great, great meal. Highly recommend checking out if you want a nice meal in the city for a fair price.
Alright quick confession: I walked back and forth looking for the door a little too long before I realized the sign was an arrow pointing me right to it, but the unintended silver lining was when I did find my way inside and saw how warm and cozy it was it felt like I’d discovered something amazing. The restaurant itself is really beautiful, but it’s not just for show; the food was phenomenal, the cocktails and wine selection were great, and the staff was excellent. Highly recommend, whatever the occasion.
Other than the strict 2 hour dining hour and compact space, everything else is perfect. Lamb chop is perfect and the service were very nice.
Came with a group for a team dinner for the first time. Servers were all very friendly when we entered, greeting us warmly as we came in. It was a set menu to share amongst everyone and all of it was fantastic. Great variety of flavours and textures, good portion sizes of everything. Cocktails were delicious as well, it was a great time overall!
OMG.. we ate so much!! This place is so good! Food drinks ambience & service, everything is top notch! Crunchy shrimps & lamb chops were absolutely delicious. Also, the Turkish donuts which were served with ice cream & some spicy chocolate sauce! Overall, highly recommended!
Our first time at Taksim was AMAZING!!!! Where can I begin…everything from the food, the atmosphere and most importantly the service. Everyone is so so so friendly, warm and welcoming which makes the experience even better. The food is so delicious, it actually feels like you’re sitting down at a Turkish home and eating real homemade Turkish meals made with love…at least that’s how I would describe it. 🥰 My family ordered the following: Appetizers ~ • Wood Fired Flower bread • Cauliflower Cream soup (pic not shown) • Shish Kabob (pic not shown) • Taksim Trio dips & Pita • Gem Lettuce Salad Entrees ~ • Australian Lamb Chops (pic not shown) • Grilled Chicken (pic not shown) • Guvec for two Dessert ~ • Taksim donuts • Raki Palace pudding • Turkish tea Highly recommended to try all these dishes! Everything was super delicious! I would order all of it again! ☺️ Can’t stop saying how I highly recommend trying this place out. Please if you have a chance to be in the city and around the Oracle ball park area and want some authentic Turkish cuisine stop by Taksim. You won’t regret it! Thank you to all the staff there, you guys made our night!
59 dollars for a 7 course tasting menu is just superb and amazing!!! Super accommodating to dietary restrictions… High quality ingredients for sure!! Super worth the money! Thank you so much team :) super good service as well! Will come back!!
Hidden gem!! We don’t rly eat Turkish food but decided to explore this neighborhood restaurant because they had an extremely affordable tasting menu. And we were so pleasantly surprised!! Everything was delicious, unique (Turkish Californian fusion) and you can’t beat the price. So happy to have discovered this place and would definitely recommend the tasting menu. Love the veggie-forward menu as well! The bf who hates veggies loved them all. Edit: went there a second time and brought friends, who all loved every dish! We shared a few mezes and each had an entree this time. Definitely recommend the panisse, beets, lamb chops, and all the desserts were great. The risotto was the weaker dish but everything else was amazing.
The food and atmosphere were amazing. Very put together but also felt laid back. We went there with a large group of friends and had the tasting menu. The lamb and beef dumplings were divine!
I have now been a number of times and the food, service and ambiance is always great. The cocktails are also noteworthy— I love the Raki based one that is very unique. I always get the Branzino as my main. Their Manti is also delicious. One of my favorite restaurants in the city for interesting Turkish food. They are also very accommodating for Lactose intolerance. Highly recommend it!

This is an AMAZING restaurant. Very chic yet cozy. The music is perfect for the ambiance. The staff are very attentive to your every need. I have a gluten sensitivity problem and they were quick to accommodate and provide DELICIOUS plates. The lamb carpaccio is to die for! I will be back!!!!

Exceptional food, service and hospitality dining experience! We had a corporate dinner hosted at the ground floor, which can be satisfied partly of 18. There is an upper floor with buyout or minimum expense options, giving more private and party or event if needed. Menu options are group-diner. 3-4 courses family-style shared for appetizers (3 dishes), and OYW entree and dessert. Vegetarian is also available. Fine food and fresh ingredients for the dinner overall. I am very impressed by meat cooking-level remained in perfect condition for a multiple orders at the same time for our party ( 7-10 orders of lamb chops). The overall serving pace is running smoothly and well timing management. All crews are friendly and very happy to help. Restroom condition is clean (all genders). A luxurious brand amenity “Aesop” is applied.
This is hands down our favorite Turkish restaurant in the city. While there are a few others, this one truly stands out. We first visited during the pandemic and have been regulars ever since. Whether it’s their seasonal salads, inventive homemade cocktails and mocktails, or the kebabs, lamb chops, and crispy shrimp—the quality is incredibly consistent. It’s tucked away in a quiet alley, making it a lovely spot for a date, a night out with friends, or a casual weekend dinner. Supporting local small businesses is our favorite activity, especially when the food is this delicious!
Fantastic waitstaff, and excellent food. We tried their tasting menu over Valentine's Day, and I have to say that just about everything was good. The highlights: -The Taksim doughnut for dessert was addicting. They also gave us a milk pudding (that my partner really liked) because they made a mistake when bringing the food out. Didn't think that was necessary, but just highlighting how accomodating the staff is here. Thank you! -We really liked the Kebabs, the meat was cooked perfectly and their pita tasted very fresh -The shrimp! Man, the shrimp is so good! I'd eat about 100 of those. The lows: -I'd say these are pretty minor things. The branzino for the tasting menu was a pretty small portion, but it tasted great. I'd say the Ezme was pretty unmemorable for me, it's not bad but just gets pushed to the wayside in comparison with everything else. Overall, very very good. We will definitely be coming back, and I will make sure I have enough money in my bank account for the amount of shrimp I aspire to eat!

Wow! We went with Taksim for our rehearsal dinner in June. It was such a wonderful evening. The food is delicious. The prefix menu serves family style dishes which helped foster conversation and connection as our friends and family enjoyed the delicious Mediterranean dishes. Standouts include the Flower Bread, the Beets, the Lamb (Carpaccio and Lamb Chop), and the Turkish Donuts. The service was excellent - in addition to the food they had a great cocktail selection. Birkan, who coordinated our evening, was super easy to work with and maintained great communication throughout. It left a great impression on our guests and we would absolutely recommend them for a similar bet. We'll be back soon!
So good!! I enjoyed the food fired bread with dips and the wheat berry risotto. The risotto was light, flavorful, and had a cute presentation (unfortunately I didn't take any photos). The bread portion was small but it was soft, warm, and some very tasty dips. One of them had a similar taste to like a macaroni salad - couldn't say what it was but that was my favorite. They also have a great cocktail menu. The service was excellent and the waiters HANDSOME ;) I also was happy to find free street parking along the side street but it was extremely difficult to then turn around on my way out. Only con to the restaurant otherwise is it is pretty small, I think it would be hard to fit a large party here. We initially were expecting a group of 6 (only then had 4) and to me it seemed like 6-8 would be there maximum to sit together without reserving the whole dining area. They took our extra table which was definitely needed.
Our server was very friendly and playful. The ambiance was nice and casual. I did wish it was a bit more relaxing. The food was hit or miss. The branzino was really tasty. The pita needed to be fluffier and was also not served warm. The baba ghanoush needed more eggplant. Overall a decent meal but nothing spectacular.
Met a friend for dinner. It has indoor and outdoor seating. Conveniently located on the T Muni stop. There is a paid parking lot across the street though it’ll get crowded during games as it’s near the ballpark. We ordered the 7 course tasting menu which you had to pre-order. I was worried that it would be too much food. It was just right! Nice vibe. Some folks were dressed casually others got dressed up (at least by SF standards). My dinner companion and I would try it again although we’ll try a la carte. The diners next to us had interesting dishes delivered to their table.

Service and atmosphere was top notch, and they have clearly put thoughts, efforts, and love into this. The food, however, fell short for us, particularly factoring the size of the bill. we did not find the appetizers worth what we paid, but the entree was better

The falafel was good. Some of the meats were tasty but some of the other flavors were lacking. We didn't appreciate the surprise fees to dine in and then tips when it's not really a full service environment. They are nice and passionate about the food but ehh. Left me with a lot to be desired.
