This place really is "The Queer Cheers of Astoria". Its a fun, safe space where you'll always feel welcome. They host tons of events and games if you're looking for something to do, or meet-ups and Happy Hours for relaxing and conversation. I'm a big karaoke fan, so Fridays are my favorite night. I even decided to celebrate my birthday there this weekend. Hassan (@hassanintheworld) is the karaoke host Queen and she is absolutely amazing - so entertaining and talented too! Filup and Alexander are the new Friday team behing the bar and THEY. ARE. FABULOUS!! They're welcoming & friendly, and they keep the drinks flowing. Albatross is a great neighborhood bar with some of the best drag performers you'll find anywhere.

A fantastic place to meet people and have a good time. Wednesdays are always lots of fun with Gayme Night, hosted by Avant Garbage. Fabrizio is behind the bar and does a friendly, fabulous job! Shows and games happen almost every night. You're gonna love it!

This place is the best. They got new owners a over a year ago and I've really noticed a huge difference. Cheap and strong drinks, nice bartenders and loads of entertainment every night! My favorite is the karaoke on Friday night. It gets a really big crowd.

Scar, there’s no food! But actually the staff here is amazing. I come by often on Wednesday nights which is “Gayme” night hosted by the incomparable Avant Garbage and bartended by talented and attentive Fabrizio. They’ve really fostered such a welcoming community and safe place for queer people and the people who love us with Jack box games, Jenga, Mario kart/smash bros, werewolf, and the occasional twister Also Sundays hosted Sherri Poppins bartended by Shane are a delight and a great send off to a stressful weekend to other hospitality industry people Highly recommend.

So. Much. Fun. Stopped in on my birthday after visiting a couple other bars in the area. Friday night karaoke was going on and a couple of people in my group took part. People come there to show off their skills and I was blown away!

came here last night for the first time and absolutely loved the vibes! i live in brooklyn and my two best friends live in astoria, and i suggested we check out albatross together. so glad that we did! skip was such a friendly bartender, and i just really loved the overall vibes of the guys that were hanging out here. so unpretentious, very chill and laidback, and genuine! unlike other gayborhoods in the city *cough* HELLS KITCHEN *cough* can't wait to come back the next time around :)

This bar is a dive and I say that endearingly. Take it for what it is but the owners and staff care that you have a good time and leave happy. Staff and patrons are all incredibly friendly. Fabulous happy hour from 5-8pm everyday (BOGO on everything) and great karaoke nights with awesome singers (Wednesday and Friday). I love the cheap (but strong) drinks and the bartenders are not only sexy but genuinely friendly too! Drag shows on Saturdays are the best I've seen outside of Manhattan; the great stage and lighting definitely helps. Definitely recommend this place as a regular hangout or just a fun night out with good friends.

My first time going to this bar. By the time I left I think I found my go to place!!! Nice gay/les corner bar near the highway, not hard to find. Dean was behind the bar. ❤ He was awesome, sweet, and kind! Nice decorations and good drinks. I will definitely go back on an event night.

Went here to celebrate getting fired. Had a fun time, drinks were good and the bartender was nice. 4 stars cause the bar tender called me and my fiancee (2 trans women in dresses) male pronouns. Be more aware? Idk. Wasn't enough to not have me return, but still annoying.

Let me first say I had a really good time....I called around 5:15 PM because i wasn't really sure about the dress code.i wanted to know if I could wear short and sneakers and I was told no. When I got there mostly everyone had shorts, t-shirts and hats, needless to say I was upset. I asked the bartender, who answers the phone he said ' me depending on the time"but he said he wasn't sure and the owner wouldn't be in today.....I really had an awesome time but whoever answers the phone should have knowledge of the rules and restrictions of the establishment. Although I was upset at first I just want to guys to know that I had a blast and the entertainers were awesome . I recommend everyone to come thru.

This bar is an iconic neighborhood bar. Lately the servide quality has gone down since bartenders do not care to serve people who are outside because they are unvaccinated. I left without tipping because the bartender Skipper was not worthy of a service tip since he gave my table no attention whatsoever. Very bad. service

We really enjoyed the bar itself and bartenders were really friendly. However the drag queen running karaoke was incredibly rude, and we felt as a lesbian couple she kept skipping us for karaoke and inviting her male friends (who just entered the bar) up to sing. We asked multiple times over an hour and a half and she kept making excuses "he bribed me!". My wife was finally called to sing but the bar had gone from busy to almost empty. Honestly it really sucks as a queer couple to go to a queer bar and be treated like this. We were let down, and felt really disrespected. This bar came highly recommended by local family and we definitely won't be returning.

I was online for the bathroom and the ones that became vacant first was the one up the few steps and after watching other people use it the whole night I had assumed everyone was allowed to. There was a huge mess however walking into it. Not wanting to leave it for someone else to walk into I decided to clean it which I guess took some time because before I could come back out the drag Queen performing made nasty remarks about me being in the bathroom for so long followed up by more remarks by the person on stage when I did exit the bathroom. I am disappointed because I thought this was supposed to be a place of inclusion and kindness.

Unfriendly! There was basically nobody in there. The bartender was okay until his friend showed up and all of a sudden wanted me to chug my drink and get out of the bar. At that point I suppose he just wanted to hang out with his friend nobody else was in there I was treated very rudely.
