Always a great place for lunch and dinner! The staff is friendly and attentive. You can dine outside and they offer takeout and delivery. Prices are pretty reasonable especially when compared with the food quality, which is outstanding! Their burgers are among the best I have ever had and I am a bit of a burger connoisseur so that's saying something for sure! I'll be back!

Spent a wonderful evening seated outside, enjoying the delicious and well-prepared food. The atmosphere was superb and the wait staff was the perfect amount of attentive. Prices were perfectly reasonable.

I had a blind date here with my now wife to be. We return every year for our anniversary. but you could enjoy this eatery every day and still not get enough. I love the atmosphere and the staff is very professional, courteous and kind. I love the Buffalo mac & cheese. I would highly recommend anyone of any age come join the wonderful live music and great food.

Had a great meal with our 18 month old, the staff were very understanding with us being slow. Looking forward to coming back

This was our 1st time and it was wonderful all around. Our food was delicious and neither of us could finish our meals. The best maple buffalo chicken appetizers and fries I have ever tasted. The atmosphere was cozy and waitress was very friendly, polite and gave us great service. We will be going back for sure and if available we'll ask for Ellen M.

This place is great! Awesome staff, great atmosphere and good prices! The food was incredible the first night so we came back the second! Looking forward to the live music tonight!!

This is my first time leaving a Google review for anything, it was also my first time ever eating at Twiggs and I absolutely recommend this place. I'll add the reasons why. 1. The atmosphere is very nice and the service was awesome. 2. The food was delicious and the serving sizes were huge. I got appetizers and couldn't even finish them. There is also a pretty wide selection and a kids menu alone with a cute kids cup they can keep. 3. The prices are awesome. Feeding 3 people cost under 100 dollars, and that is inclusing a good tip. 4. They have things to do while you wait, like coloring pages and crayons for kids and cards like Trivial Pursuit type for everyone. 5. The place is quiet even with the TVs and music. It won't let me upload photos, the +Add Photos won't respond when I touch it and I believe there are other things I am forgetting as I write this but seriously, it's absolutely worth your money and time dining here.

The food was very good (we had everything from nachos to main courses to dessert), but it was our server who was absolutely outstanding! My wife and son both have unusual needs, were probably more trouble than three tables combined. Our server was thoughtful and creative. It totally worked out!

We were visiting family and decided to take out a family meal. We ordered the maple-bacon chicken mac & cheese which is supposed to serve 4 and poutine which served 1. Not sure who all they used to determine servings but they must be some huge eaters. The decadent mac & cheese with strips of chicken and slices of green apple could easily serve 6 to 8 adults. The poutine serving fed 2. The food was outstanding and our interactions with the staff found them to be friendly and helpful. I also think the price was great for all the food we received. We will definitely be ordering the next time we visit.

I love Twiggs! Not only for the great food (bruschetta flatbread, mmmm!), drink specials ($3 margaritas is where it's at), outside seating, and nice atmosphere, but the owner really cares about his customer's experience. And for these reasons we go to Twiggs far too often 😄

Thanks to Tom for helping us have a great dinner during a busy Friday night and we came in on a work trip. Tom made sure we had a great table and everything we needed along with a sweet staff. Will definitely be back.

We are sitting on the patio at Twiggs listening to the MOST excellent Nobby Reed play the blues. The food is great pub food and Shed Mountain Ales for only $5. Got to love it. Our server, Sierra, provides friendly, timely, and informative service. We had a great experience and would give Sierra a giant raise.

Love the atmosphere, there’s local art on the walls available for purchase, good prices and great portions. You have to have a Twiggy for dessert!

Delicious. Our bellies were very full leaving. We took left overs and still had a lot of food. I can confirm everything from the fried pickles to the Mac and cheese still tasted good when reheated!

*update* Came in December on a Sunday between lunch and dinner. Wonderful service, fast and hot food, and my wife lived the Peppermint Mocha martini. A nice, local joint with pretty good food. We've had a range of experiences with quality and service but nothing deal breaking. Staffing is hard everywhere.

Not your average burger place. Twiggs is really nice restaurant. Outside seating. Full bar on site. The food is fantastic! I had a Murfster burger, incredibly tender corned beef. My girlfriend had the Bay Fish Tacos, “you can really taste the cilantro”, she said.

Cary (I hope I spelled it right, I am sorry if I didn't) was an amazing server, and the food was absolutely delightful! That ghost pepper sure was hot though 🤣 thanks for the great good, amazing service, and many laughs and smiles. Truly took my dinner experience to the next level, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I have had my doubts about Twiggs in the past, as my experiences have not always been the best, but this has truly changed my perspective of this establishment, and I will definitely he returning for more of that chili Mac n cheese burger. Absolutely stunning!

First time there and sat at the bar with a friend. The bartender was very friendly and attentive and we both enjoyed our meals also. He had a flatbread pizza (which was huge) and I had the fish and chips (which was one large piece of haddock on top of fries) which was great also. Very clean and welcoming. We'll be back for sure in the future and maybe even bring our wives 😜

Went here while visiting Lake Champlain. Everything was stellar. Food, service and the atmosphere is very local and friendly. Great beer selection. Live music on a small front stage was perfect. If you didn't want to listen, there's plenty of seating out of earshot.

Great atmosphere. Had dpucey green beans -- spicy and good. Dinner was Philly cheese Mac and cheese. Large portion. Very good. Bartender makes a good frozen mudslide. Will return when in area.

C

Found this gem on a quick Google search and it did not disappoint. They have a nice craft beer list to choose from and the menu is exactly what you'd expect from a gastro pub. Definitely get the fried pickles as they are thinly sliced spears that are nice and crispy. Burgers were on point and the Mac n cheese looked phenomenal. My girlfriend ordered the seared salmon which was full of flavor. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive. All of our food came out in a reasonable time and very hot. 10/10 will come again!

Cold brews and really good food! We had the Chilli which was presented in a small cast iron skillet with a generous piece of corn bread on top. Also enjoyed their Poutine that had real cheese curds and a very flavorful gravy. Finished it all off with some Buffalo Wings and a Cold Local Brew!

1st time there on Saturday.. amazing! Food is so good! Server was friendly and attentive. Went back Sunday- service was not as good. He never brought me some bar-b-q sauce that I asked for and never came back to make sure everything was OK. I did accidentally leave my hat, noticed on Monday, went back and it was hanging on a coat rack! Thank you Twiggs for saving my hat.

Had dinner here two years ago with friends when we visited from Arizona. They have a great mac n cheese and I couldn't wait to have it again when we visited this time. The mac n cheese has bacon, apples, maple syrup, bacon jam and fried chicken. It is sinful.

Excellent value and service with a nice atmosphere. You've got your typical greasy options but also salads, delicious roasted vegetables and baked potato. The staff was very sweet and professional. The portions are very large, one plate is just about enough for two people. The chicken included 3 cutlets with a delicious maple bcon topping, a large baked potato and ple ty of vegetables. The mac n cheese was large as well. You can eat inside or on the patio outside.

Even though it was busy we were seated very quickly and the food was pretty good. We'll go back at some point for sure! 2025 Updated Review: Had their Balsamic Flat bread and cheese cake which were to die for, and when I asked to have someone help me make our anniversary special, they jumped at the idea and were so thoughtful. Very impressed with their service. 10/10

Twiggs restaurant and cafe effortlessly delivers delicious food with a smile, ensuring that hot dishes are served hot and cold ones remain refreshingly cool. Their attention to detail goes above and beyond, evident in the diverse selection of fries we enjoyed, from sweet potato to waffle, accompanied by classic malt vinegar. However, the true star of the evening was the super burger, impeccably presented and bursting with flavor. Its generous proportions left me nearly forgetting to capture its beauty in a photo. Special mention goes to Camille, whose attentive service elevated our dining experience.

My girlfriend and I are visiting from New York, and after looking at the rave reviews and menu online, we decided to swing by. We walked in, were seated promptly and got drinks within a few minutes. We got poutine as a starter, my girlfriend got a maple bacon fried chicken wrap and I got the beer battered fish. All food was fresh, hot and very delicious! Great food, service and atmosphere. When we come back to VT we would definitely swing by again! Also, everyone was very friendly!

Came across this place on vacation last weekend and what a gem. Outside seating and the waitresses were so nice. The owner is a great guy and really knows how to run a great place. The food here is exceptional. We started with fried pickles which were the best I ever had they were so crunchy and seasoned great. I had the fish and chips which came with coleslaw which was made different than I'm used to but man was it good..had mustard seeds in it and I could have eaten a gallon of it. The fries were so crunchy and so wasn't the fish. The fish was not doughy at all and huge portions. My fiancé had the salmon with rice and vegetables, it was so good and flavorful and cooked to perfection. We also got two hamburg patties for our two dogs and they loved them and gobbled them right up. I will definitely be coming back here . Worth the trip

D

I enjoyed my time here. The burger was under cooked (I asked for medium rare, it was rare) but the quality of beef was high enough that it was good at the lower heat. The sweet potato fries were well cooked, and crispy. The staff were wonderful. The beer was fresh and cold. I definitely plan on going for a date night with my wife here!

A

Had a Taylor park chicken Caesar wrap. So So good. With a side order of fries. Chief was on top today very delicious. I was so full next time I'm going to ask for half a wrap (if they do that) if not a box to take home. If you like wraps you need to try this. Husband had chicken wings. He liked it . For drinks everyone should try obsolut refresher. Very refreshing on a nice warm day. We ate outside. Music playing in the back ground. Waitress was great 👍.people watching was fun. Nice day. Nice lunch

We came here late at night after a bad restaurant experience elsewhere. Both my husband and I were tired and hungry, so we ordered some comfort food. He got a chicken quesadilla and I got the tomato artichoke bisque. We also got the mozzarella sticks, and I was delighted to find that they were battered! We are traveling right now, and where we are from in southern NH and MA, we only ever see breaded mozzarella sticks. Battered is so much tastier! It did seem like it took quite a while for our food to get come, but we did get there about an hour before they closed and the waitress mentioned that they were about to switch to the late night menu, so that could be why.

Cool little gem in Vermont. Stopped on my way up while crossing the border to canada. Very easy to find once you get off the highway using Google maps. They have outdoor seating and we're very accommodating. I got nachos with pork, a lemonade seltzer. The nacho plate was more than enough to share between two people so the prices are reasonable and the portions are large! Everything was delicious and tasty. The side containers that hold the sour cream were very small so we had to ask for five of them. The salsa was really good but it was really watered down. Otherwise, everything was delicious and I would definitely go there again. Super friendly waitstaff.

T

Overall food is good, I had the fish and chips. The portion size was enough to make a lunch for tomorrow. The pictured Twiggie dessert was extremely yummy!! The service is very friendly!

A 'gastropub' is an English idea that traveled to the US in the early 90's. Good reasonably priced food, prepared by a gourmet chef and served with adult beverages to go with it. Twiggs is located on N. Main St., right across from Taylor Park. We chose the location because it was near the pick-up point for our bus tour, and we ate on the outside patio so we could enjoy the beautiful flowers. We enjoyed our food and the atmosphere.

J

It was good. My fried green beans were amazing. And the onion rings were amazing. The burger my husband got he couldn't even finish it or start it had to bring it home he was too full.

Service was good, pleasant and not slow as others mentioned. I had fish sandwich with onion rings ($3 upcharge) and both were good. Hubby had french onion soup and pretzels. He was happy with both. Only complaint is background music (radio) was too loud.

Great restaurant with a good menu and cool atmosphere, especially the speak easy side. The staff was friendly and provided a great experience. The Buffalo mac & cheese is delicious if you can't figure out what to order. I'll definitely be back to try a few more entrees.

Great place to eat, right in the heart of St Albans. Outdoor/indoor seating and perfect to get a glance of the street market vendors across the street. The pretzel with beer cheese and poutine was delicious. Plenty enough to be a full meal. The steak salad and chicken ceasar wrap was also tasty. The place is nice and our server was spot on with our orders without writing it down! Plenty of seating and an overall great place to eat Highly recommend stopping in for a bite to eat.

Ian Espanol
Ian Espanol

Great poutine! Very tasty and a large portion. The cheesesteak was very close to being amazing. Despite having all the elements that make a great cheesesteak, it was severely under seasoned so it wasn't flavorful. I'd definitely go again just for the poutine!

K
KeyRec 11

Really really slow service even with half the tables empty. Rickety old chairs ready to fall apart. Watered down mule. Worst fries ever. Tasted like they sat around and then got microwaved.

S
Susan Pinto

Food was good once it arrived. We wanted 45 min. for our starter, French onion soup. For $8 the cup was extremely tiny. We ordered our meal and 30-40 minutes later it arrived. Not solely impressed with the over $100 bill. The amount of money you would expect better service.

T
Todd Koser

The service was friendly and nice. They put us at a more quiet table as we requested and had the bar make a mock tail via a simple revision. The food was ok. Pizza was piled in a small basket so it stuck together and the grilled chicken on a salad did not see likely to have been cooked in house. The cost seemed high given portions and quality.

M
Matthew Cabana

I eat here because it's one of a few decent options in the area. It's like 3 Rem: Okay, not great.

A

Food is not quite as good as I remember it to be 5+ years ago. Atmosphere and energy are on point 👉

M
Michael Joyce

Food was mediocre at best. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, all bun and stale, very little flavor. Leftovers by all four of us, mostly because of food quality. Appetizers were good, but meals were not. Waitress disappeared for lengths of time, when they seemed not to be so busy. Might give it another try, for drinks, but would eat elsewhere before going.

Jack Ross
Jack Ross

Food and atmosphere is very good. I got their autumn pear and apple salad with no bacon which was very good. However I am taking two stars off because the service was very slow; our waitress was very nice but when I went in to go for lunch we ended up waiting almost 45 minutes for our salads, during which we were not checked on if we wanted refills for our drinks. I am not sure if they are understaffed or if there is poor communication in the kitchen but I hope they are able to improve the quality and speed of their service.

A
Athena L

Disappointed! An hour after ordering I found our server and asked where our dinner was. 20 min after that our dinner was served, warm, not hot. The food would have been much better if it had been served hot. There was live music the night we were there and when the doors to the room where the musicians were were left opened it was impossible to have a conversation. The doors were left opened a lot.

For the first time in 2 years I chose to have twiggs for my birthday dinner. We ordered the chicken tenders I had fries with mine my fiancé had waffle fries, big mistake he bit into one of his tenders and broke a tooth. He could not eat anymore he was in so much pain . The tenders were very hard and waffle fries were like hockey pucks. My food was the same, very disappointed use to love this place. Will give it 1 more try in the future. Maybe. Not to mention when I called to place the order the young lady asked if she could put me on hold for a second. I said sure… 20 minutes later, I was getting ready to hang up and call back, she finally came back on and apologized said she had forgotten about me. SMH

B
Brian Cuddy

Ordered takeout. They forgot one of our meals. When I tried to call, they put me on hold and never picked up again. When I went back they have me the burger they made 45 minutes earlier and did not offer to remake. This is the second time in a row I have had trouble with them. Last time they did not include all the burger toppings I paid for. Not likely to order again.

J
Jim Frisk

food is decent but service is horrible. When one is ordering takeout, they automatically get charged for a tip. What service is being provided? Especially when a customer shows up to pick up their order and has to wait 15 minutes because the cashier is busy talking to coworkers and talking to a new customer making a new order. My order was ready all the cashier had to do was hand it to me to avoid a 15 minute wait but didnt acknowledge me for almost 15 minutes as i stood there by the counter.

J
Jay Di Vece

How long does it take to pour a glass of beer? About 20 mins… I’d go back and sit at the bar but table service was just waaaaay too slow. Food is ok. Atmosphere is great. Staff are friendly.

A
AJ Bugbee

Had a nice night out with some of my fellas. We enjoyed some beers and were looking forward to a nice dinner. There were four of us and one I got the correct meal. My buddy who can’t eat much fried food got fried chicken in his wrap instead of grilled, my other buddy got a house salad instead of Caesar, and my other buddy got salmon and fries instead of a chicken and shrimp power bowl. I’m giving two stars because the drinks kept flowing and I got my meal correct and all meals were cooked perfectly. Just wish the waitress would have done something to correct the situation, but she didn’t apologize, even though it was clearly her fault because she chose to not write things down. Enjoy Twiggs most of the time.

I’m convinced there are no good restaurants anymore. This was a delivery to my hotel (not DoorDash), Sunday, 10/20/24. I ordered the Cod, side salad, baked potato, and French onion soup. The Cod had no salt and was severely over cooked, and tough. I didn’t eat the salad, I didn’t realize it was mixed greens, as the website doesn’t offer descriptions. However, there was one half of a piece of cucumber, and one thin slice of onion. The baked potato was clearly old and re-heated. The skin was black, and wilted, and the potato had that old yellowish hue they get when being old and re-heated. The mixed veg, that came with the fish was decent. The soup was extremely bitter, and full of herbs that were reminiscent of oregano (in French onion soup). There was a THICK slab of cheese on top and mushy bread underneath. Additionally, the website doesn’t prompt the customer to choose salad dressing, or toppings for potato. They sent balsamic for the salad, and NOTHING for the potato. No butter. No sour cream. Finally, no utensils were sent, nor was the Diet Pepsi I ordered and paid for. I suppose places like this get away with mediocre (at best) food, due to being a small town with limited options. Do better.

J
Joshua Nelson

25 minutes waiting for a drink order...I told someone - 20 minutes later they took our drink order. NOT an exaggeration, 45 minutes to take a drink order. Half the food came out cold- manager tried to help, waitress was HORRIBLE

A
Ace Factor

The Mac and cheese was great the salad on the other hand was disappointing my gf gets this salad every time and always brags about it but this time it was all Lettuce the steak was very small compared to normal and she found 1 string of onion 1 small tomato cut in half and a small slice of cucumber cut in half. The last couple times it was packed with veggies and this time pretty much just lettuce, and it says that it comes with balsamic dressing and there was none :/

J
Joe Benoit

Took my wife there on a date night. Place wasn’t very busy at all was told to go ahead and sit down and they would be over with menus. After watching the hostess doing nothing but talking to her coworkers for 15 minutes we finally got out menu. We ordered pretty basic food burgers and pretzels with beer cheese. The food took forever to come out which for the small crowd seemed odd. When it did arrive everything was cold to the point where the beer cheese wasn’t even liquid anymore. The waitress and whole staff seemed pretty content just hanging out. Will not go there again and don’t recommend them to anyone.

L
Larry Dubin

Let me start by saying I understand many restaurants are struggling with getting kitchen help and staffing, however, you need to work with the resources you have if you are open for business. This was our first, and will be our only, visit to this establishment. We arrived at 5:05pm tonight and was immediately seated. Our waitress had to be new as she could not answer our question whether or not there were any specials. We ordered by 5:15pm. A sign at the front asked for patience due to lack of kitchen help. Our waitress told us the same thing. We rarely saw our waitress and she only checked on us once. By 6:20pm, still no food. What made it worse, tables seated AFTER us were served their food when we still had not gotten ours. Manage your situation before you lose more customers than just us.

Ordered an appetizer and a burger. It took over an hour to get the appetizer. Then we waited another 30 minutes for our entrees. The fries were cold, limp, and oily. When I told the waitress that they were gross, she offered to replace them - and then charged me for the replacement fries!

I rarely post reviews, but I’m posting this one so others won’t waste their time at this restaurant. We had reservations at 7:00 and were seated promptly. Our waitress took our drink order and brought drinks at 7:15. She took our food order and left. By 7:45 we had finished our drinks, but still no food or offer to refill our drinks. At 8:20 we asked another waitress where our food was. She said she would check. At 8:30 we put on our coats and started to leave. The food finally arrived. It was mediocre at best. As I said, don’t waste your time at Twiggs.

I really don’t like to do this. Time and time again I have come to Twiggs thinking “they will make up for it this time”, and every single time I walk out frustrated and disappointed. I understand that the restaurant business is difficult. I understand that finding staff is hard. However, there is no excuse for the lack of attentiveness and the lack of communication in this restaurant. I’ve spent a lot of money here over the years and it used to be great, but somewhere along the way something changed. Now you are hard pressed to order a beverage, and the food comes out 45 minutes after you order and it’s apparent it’s been under a heater for 25 of those minutes. St. Albans deserves great food options, and quite frankly I think it’s a shame that Off the Rails folded instead of Twiggs. I don’t want any small business to fail, but at this point failure is deserved. Even an Applebees or a Texas Roadhouse would be a blessing in this town over some of the local options. But for now, I won’t be stepping foot in here again. Good luck to you all!

We sat at our table for 15 minutes and no sever or host came to our table. Staff was more focused on socializing and take out orders. We walked over to Mimmos and we're instantly served. The food is overpriced and decidedly mid. Save your money and find another spot

This used to be my favorite restaurant, but I honestly don't know if I'll ever return. A long time waitress (Camille F.) seems to have taken up bartending recently. I was immediately concerned as she is consistently the least attentive waitress on staff. She took her time seating us, was rude, uninformed, ageist, and full of excuses. Unfortunately my concerns didn't stop me from ordering a margarita. It came smelling of expired lime juice and the taste was foul. I went up to the bar to ask for another with fresh lime juice and she seemed to not know that lime juice can go bad... She treated me like I don't know what a margarita is supposed to taste like, and then brought me another margarita with the same nasty expired lime juice in it. I asked her for a water and she was rude again. Maybe I'll return once she's left permanently. Every time she's my waitress the experience in there is awful, and now that she's behind the bar there's no hope for a good drink while she takes forever to do every aspect of her job. Edit : Upon trying to give this restaurant another try on my husband's birthday we were accosted by Camille F. who is unfortunately still employed at this establishment. She wasn't even our server and felt the need to come up to my table and let me know that she thinks I'm not allowed to be in the restaurant at all. The owner disagreed, but my husband and I left anyway because of Camille's nasty behavior. I don't think I've ever seen someone mentally snap over nothing at their place of work like that before.

We made reservations for 7 o’clock. We were five minutes early and ordered our drinks and appetizer and meals promptly and saw nothing until 45 minutes afterwards at which point we asked to get our food to go and after another half an hour, we got our entrées and “ cookies and ice cream “ known as Twiggy’s and this is what we saw when we got home.

I just purchased food here and did a pick up order. I’ve heard good things from friends and family since they have celiac disease and stated they were good about food allergies. Well I got home and consumed what was thought to be the gluten free pasta with my add ons that I added to the order. Long story short they forgot my add ons and the regular pasta order had my add ons so I consumed the wrong pasta and now I will be sick. What people don’t know is that people react differently to consuming wheat/gluten. My throat feels like it’s closing and also with celiac it attacks the small intestine and damages the lining which creates a domino effect of GI issues for me. It takes anywhere from 6 to 18 months for the lining to fully heal from ANY gluten/wheat exposure. I’m seriously so frustrated and disappointed that NONE of my food was labeled and my order clearly indicated my food allergies. I will not be eating here ever again. If you have any sort of food allergies I’d check with the staff MULTIPLE times to ensure that you don’t get sick. I added a photo for reference.

There was a 10 minute wait for a waitress to take our drink orders, 10 minutes later she returned with drinks and we placed our order! The wait was ridiculous, it took 22 minutes to get our single appetizer then another 26 minutes to get one of our meals and the other never came. The only food to make it to the table was cold, service was terrible and and the total time waiting was 78 minutes, before we finally had to go to the bar to pay our bill as our server never returned. Don't waste your time or money, not worth it and we will certainly never return!

Sat at my table for 15 minutes before anybody acknowledged me. A couple different beers were “out of stock”. Ordered a steak, half of it was pure fat and the other half was rare/raw, I order it medium. Baked potato was barely cooked, and the side of vegetables was just a pile of cucumbers. Not impressed with this place at all, maybe I caught them on a bad night?

We came here for Valentine’s Day and spent over $70, expecting a special night out, but it turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve ever had. We had a 7:15 p.m. reservation and waited 10 minutes just to be greeted. After ordering right away, it still took 20 minutes to get our drinks, 45 minutes for a cup of soup, and an hour and a half for our entrées. The food quality was just as disappointing as the service. The flatbread tasted like it had been microwaved, and the baked haddock was served undercooked and raw in the center. It felt like there was little care or effort put into either the service or the food. For the price and the occasion, it was a complete waste of money. We won’t be returning.

We made a reservation for 7pm and arrived 5-10 mins early on a Sunday evening. When we arrived, I asked about our reservation and it quickly became apparent that the host took zero responsibility for managing reservations. I still have no idea who or what our reservation went to or how it was managed. They stated that there was a wait to be seated. I asked about our res, and got a blank stare. I then asked if we could give number and name or something if it was a while, or give us an estimate so we can decide what to do. Blank stare, looks behind them, then says they have no idea. Then walks away. I notice a set table located up front. The table is set, menu, two seats, and I figure I’ll help the host and ask. When they return I ask, and the host gave glazed look and eventually answered “Oh! Yeah, you can sit there.” I replied “We can sit there and be served?” host says, “Oh, no, but you can wait to be seated there.” At this point I am dumbfounded. And I am sure my face was doing a poor job of hiding my frustration and confusion 😅 My wife and I take the seats, at a fully set table - we’re talking sauces, spices, drink menus, etc, everything except for the utensil/napkin wrap and menus that they would (you know) actually seat you at a table with. After a few minutes of questioning my life choices, I made eye contact with the manager who saw something was up. He spoke with the host who shared that they were confused that we wanted booths? Now, I don’t know exactly how this works in the industry, but my experience has been this thus far: If there is something that needs to be specified about the reservation, then that needs to be addressed by the establishment with the customer. I do concede that I could’ve specified that in the reservation somehow, but if the option exists it’s always been presented to me. Feedback here is that Twigs could benefit from adding options such as the type of seating that you are reserving to their reservation processes. Manager told us he had a table he could make available. We followed him to an area with employees drying and wiping things. I will give him credit here in that it seemed he was really trying to make the situation better by setting a table, asking if we are okay with the overall arrangement and window etc. I still just have no clue what was wrong with the other table… but I don’t know what I don’t know. Lastly, the rest of the service didn’t make up for or break the pattern of our initial impressions. Took 20 mins for initial service after seating, then pulling teeth to get alternative drink options for the unavailable requests, no complimentary water served, we ordered an app but it didn’t come and had to be given to us a few minutes before packing up. Food was nothing remarkable but price appropriate-ish. IMO putting arugula on a plate of fries does not make the plate anything more than the sum of its parts. Just odd stuff like that. My Reuben was a soggy mess that had an unfortunate excess of sauce and wetness. However, I will be fair in that most Reubens Ive eaten at establishments have this issue and it’s a hard sandwich to get the right dryness/moistness thing right. IYKYK. The fried green beans were interesting. I would shocked if anything was actually made from scratch at Twigs but I am not certain. The menu screams some type of generic restaurant supplier… and I am frankly not sure how they could stay in business unless they did. Restaurants are practically forced to source this way for a majority of what they need to remain viable. But, it does matter what you do with the supplies, too. As far as everything else: Think of an arrangement of chain food suppliers greasy-spoon/fried/comfort-food options all combined into assorted entries. I will contend that if you are looking for rich, greasy, dense pub fare that has interesting combinations of gluttony (maple+bacon+generic cheddar+onion+potato+fried/grilled chicken is a major theme) in decent portions you will eventually receive it at Twigs.

We had to wait for 2 hours to get our food, and it came cold. Also, it came 1 meal every 20 minutes which means we had to wait for everybody’s meals. Uncomfortable situation in the Valentine’s Day! The waiters were working clearly disorganized and lazy, no one seemed bothered about we waiting for so long. Bad experience

I just had an awful experience trying to check a balance on an older gift card at your restaurant. An Asian man, who said he was the manager, and later said that he was the actual owner, told me that the gift card was too old to use and that he wouldn’t check the balance for me. I’m not even sure if he’s the actual owner or not based on his lack of customer service skills. I asked and he confirmed, that apparently I can’t use the gift card and I’m out whatever money was still available on the card. He repeatedly told me to call the number to check the balance, yet the phone number on the back of the gift card was just to your restaurant, not the gift card company itself. He wasn’t willing to help me, and continually smirked and laughed at me. When I called him out on his unprofessional mannerisms and behavior, I was told to leave. Mind you, I was really there to purchase more gift cards for family for Christmas gifts for my parents. I chose Jeff’s seafood instead for the gift cards, and I will never go to your restaurant again. There are much better options in the area. It’s too bad I was treated so poorly, because we’ve loved your restaurant and have had many family meals and gatherings there over the years. Because I was treated and spoke to so badly, I actually started to record the conversation. Going forward, I will make sure to tell everyone I know to never patronize your restaurant after how I was treated so poorly today by the supposed owner. I have worked retail management my entire life and even owned my own deli for years and I would never talk to a customer like how your owner did to me today. I felt absolutely disgusted by the interaction today, only a couple days before Christmas. I now understand why so many people stopped going to your restaurant. What happened to the super nice owners who were all about love and community kindness?

When I first discover this restaurant 4-5 years ago, the service and food was great all while staying busy. There were familiar faces among majority og the staff. Over the past couple years, service, wait times and staff seem to be deficient and long past. Ive eaten here many times over the years, and whether it was on the “ Twiggs” side or “the Clothier”, the sense of an eager friendly and busy yet attentive restaurant seem to be an old page in a forgotten book.
