Plazor Blues Albans Reviews
Food was great. Service was fast. Great warm and welcoming environment.
1st time there on Saturday.. amazing! Food is so good! Server was friendly and attentive. Went back Sunday- service was not as good. He never brought me some bar-b-q sauce that I asked for and never came back to make sure everything was OK. I did accidentally leave my hat, noticed on Monday, went back and it was hanging on a coat rack! Thank you Twiggs for saving my hat.
The staff and management are top notch- nice vibe and great service. Food was excellent. Also, noticed the chef in the back as she was working the fryers - legit - very nice
Great food, excellent service/ servers, and the owners are unbelievably sweet people. They are very involved and take the time to personally talk to and assist the customers. Love being in an small VT area!
I used to come here all the time when I lived and worked in Saint Albans. I recently visited here and it was the same great atmosphere that I remember. If you like mac n cheese, they have some of the best you'll ever have!
Had the ribeye steak, it was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Wife had the baked haddock and enjoyed as well. Service was good and prices were reasonable.
Excellent value and service with a nice atmosphere. You've got your typical greasy options but also salads, delicious roasted vegetables and baked potato. The staff was very sweet and professional. The portions are very large, one plate is just about enough for two people. The chicken included 3 cutlets with a delicious maple bcon topping, a large baked potato and ple ty of vegetables. The mac n cheese was large as well. You can eat inside or on the patio outside.
Even though it was busy we were seated very quickly and the food was pretty good. We'll go back at some point for sure! 2025 Updated Review: Had their Balsamic Flat bread and cheese cake which were to die for, and when I asked to have someone help me make our anniversary special, they jumped at the idea and were so thoughtful. Very impressed with their service. 10/10
Twiggs restaurant and cafe effortlessly delivers delicious food with a smile, ensuring that hot dishes are served hot and cold ones remain refreshingly cool. Their attention to detail goes above and beyond, evident in the diverse selection of fries we enjoyed, from sweet potato to waffle, accompanied by classic malt vinegar. However, the true star of the evening was the super burger, impeccably presented and bursting with flavor. Its generous proportions left me nearly forgetting to capture its beauty in a photo. Special mention goes to Camille, whose attentive service elevated our dining experience.
My girlfriend and I are visiting from New York, and after looking at the rave reviews and menu online, we decided to swing by. We walked in, were seated promptly and got drinks within a few minutes. We got poutine as a starter, my girlfriend got a maple bacon fried chicken wrap and I got the beer battered fish. All food was fresh, hot and very delicious! Great food, service and atmosphere. When we come back to VT we would definitely swing by again! Also, everyone was very friendly!
Came across this place on vacation last weekend and what a gem. Outside seating and the waitresses were so nice. The owner is a great guy and really knows how to run a great place. The food here is exceptional. We started with fried pickles which were the best I ever had they were so crunchy and seasoned great. I had the fish and chips which came with coleslaw which was made different than I'm used to but man was it good..had mustard seeds in it and I could have eaten a gallon of it. The fries were so crunchy and so wasn't the fish. The fish was not doughy at all and huge portions. My fiancé had the salmon with rice and vegetables, it was so good and flavorful and cooked to perfection. We also got two hamburg patties for our two dogs and they loved them and gobbled them right up. I will definitely be coming back here . Worth the trip
A 'gastropub' is an English idea that traveled to the US in the early 90's. Good reasonably priced food, prepared by a gourmet chef and served with adult beverages to go with it. Twiggs is located on N. Main St., right across from Taylor Park. We chose the location because it was near the pick-up point for our bus tour, and we ate on the outside patio so we could enjoy the beautiful flowers. We enjoyed our food and the atmosphere.
It was good. My fried green beans were amazing. And the onion rings were amazing. The burger my husband got he couldn't even finish it or start it had to bring it home he was too full.
Great place to eat, right in the heart of St Albans. Outdoor/indoor seating and perfect to get a glance of the street market vendors across the street. The pretzel with beer cheese and poutine was delicious. Plenty enough to be a full meal. The steak salad and chicken ceasar wrap was also tasty. The place is nice and our server was spot on with our orders without writing it down! Plenty of seating and an overall great place to eat Highly recommend stopping in for a bite to eat.
Food and atmosphere is very good. I got their autumn pear and apple salad with no bacon which was very good. However I am taking two stars off because the service was very slow; our waitress was very nice but when I went in to go for lunch we ended up waiting almost 45 minutes for our salads, during which we were not checked on if we wanted refills for our drinks. I am not sure if they are understaffed or if there is poor communication in the kitchen but I hope they are able to improve the quality and speed of their service.
We came here for Valentine’s Day and spent over $70, expecting a special night out, but it turned into one of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve ever had. We had a 7:15 p.m. reservation and waited 10 minutes just to be greeted. After ordering right away, it still took 20 minutes to get our drinks, 45 minutes for a cup of soup, and an hour and a half for our entrées. The food quality was just as disappointing as the service. The flatbread tasted like it had been microwaved, and the baked haddock was served undercooked and raw in the center. It felt like there was little care or effort put into either the service or the food. For the price and the occasion, it was a complete waste of money. We won’t be returning.
We made a reservation for 7pm and arrived 5-10 mins early on a Sunday evening. When we arrived, I asked about our reservation and it quickly became apparent that the host took zero responsibility for managing reservations. I still have no idea who or what our reservation went to or how it was managed. They stated that there was a wait to be seated. I asked about our res, and got a blank stare. I then asked if we could give number and name or something if it was a while, or give us an estimate so we can decide what to do. Blank stare, looks behind them, then says they have no idea. Then walks away. I notice a set table located up front. The table is set, menu, two seats, and I figure I’ll help the host and ask. When they return I ask, and the host gave glazed look and eventually answered “Oh! Yeah, you can sit there.” I replied “We can sit there and be served?” host says, “Oh, no, but you can wait to be seated there.” At this point I am dumbfounded. And I am sure my face was doing a poor job of hiding my frustration and confusion 😅 My wife and I take the seats, at a fully set table - we’re talking sauces, spices, drink menus, etc, everything except for the utensil/napkin wrap and menus that they would (you know) actually seat you at a table with. After a few minutes of questioning my life choices, I made eye contact with the manager who saw something was up. He spoke with the host who shared that they were confused that we wanted booths? Now, I don’t know exactly how this works in the industry, but my experience has been this thus far: If there is something that needs to be specified about the reservation, then that needs to be addressed by the establishment with the customer. I do concede that I could’ve specified that in the reservation somehow, but if the option exists it’s always been presented to me. Feedback here is that Twigs could benefit from adding options such as the type of seating that you are reserving to their reservation processes. Manager told us he had a table he could make available. We followed him to an area with employees drying and wiping things. I will give him credit here in that it seemed he was really trying to make the situation better by setting a table, asking if we are okay with the overall arrangement and window etc. I still just have no clue what was wrong with the other table… but I don’t know what I don’t know. Lastly, the rest of the service didn’t make up for or break the pattern of our initial impressions. Took 20 mins for initial service after seating, then pulling teeth to get alternative drink options for the unavailable requests, no complimentary water served, we ordered an app but it didn’t come and had to be given to us a few minutes before packing up. Food was nothing remarkable but price appropriate-ish. IMO putting arugula on a plate of fries does not make the plate anything more than the sum of its parts. Just odd stuff like that. My Reuben was a soggy mess that had an unfortunate excess of sauce and wetness. However, I will be fair in that most Reubens Ive eaten at establishments have this issue and it’s a hard sandwich to get the right dryness/moistness thing right. IYKYK. The fried green beans were interesting. I would shocked if anything was actually made from scratch at Twigs but I am not certain. The menu screams some type of generic restaurant supplier… and I am frankly not sure how they could stay in business unless they did. Restaurants are practically forced to source this way for a majority of what they need to remain viable. But, it does matter what you do with the supplies, too. As far as everything else: Think of an arrangement of chain food suppliers greasy-spoon/fried/comfort-food options all combined into assorted entries. I will contend that if you are looking for rich, greasy, dense pub fare that has interesting combinations of gluttony (maple+bacon+generic cheddar+onion+potato+fried/grilled chicken is a major theme) in decent portions you will eventually receive it at Twigs.
We had to wait for 2 hours to get our food, and it came cold. Also, it came 1 meal every 20 minutes which means we had to wait for everybody’s meals. Uncomfortable situation in the Valentine’s Day! The waiters were working clearly disorganized and lazy, no one seemed bothered about we waiting for so long. Bad experience
I just had an awful experience trying to check a balance on an older gift card at your restaurant. An Asian man, who said he was the manager, and later said that he was the actual owner, told me that the gift card was too old to use and that he wouldn’t check the balance for me. I’m not even sure if he’s the actual owner or not based on his lack of customer service skills. I asked and he confirmed, that apparently I can’t use the gift card and I’m out whatever money was still available on the card. He repeatedly told me to call the number to check the balance, yet the phone number on the back of the gift card was just to your restaurant, not the gift card company itself. He wasn’t willing to help me, and continually smirked and laughed at me. When I called him out on his unprofessional mannerisms and behavior, I was told to leave. Mind you, I was really there to purchase more gift cards for family for Christmas gifts for my parents. I chose Jeff’s seafood instead for the gift cards, and I will never go to your restaurant again. There are much better options in the area. It’s too bad I was treated so poorly, because we’ve loved your restaurant and have had many family meals and gatherings there over the years. Because I was treated and spoke to so badly, I actually started to record the conversation. Going forward, I will make sure to tell everyone I know to never patronize your restaurant after how I was treated so poorly today by the supposed owner. I have worked retail management my entire life and even owned my own deli for years and I would never talk to a customer like how your owner did to me today. I felt absolutely disgusted by the interaction today, only a couple days before Christmas. I now understand why so many people stopped going to your restaurant. What happened to the super nice owners who were all about love and community kindness?
When I first discover this restaurant 4-5 years ago, the service and food was great all while staying busy. There were familiar faces among majority og the staff. Over the past couple years, service, wait times and staff seem to be deficient and long past. Ive eaten here many times over the years, and whether it was on the “ Twiggs” side or “the Clothier”, the sense of an eager friendly and busy yet attentive restaurant seem to be an old page in a forgotten book.
