Gong Cha Albee Square Reviews
I came today because I’ve never had any kind of Boba before. I allowed them to recommend a drink for me. I went with a medium Passionfruit Green tea, 50% sugar, light ice, and star jelly. The combination of passionfruit and green tea was amazing, refreshing and delicious. Nothing was overpowering. The level of ice and sugar I chose was the right amount🙌🏽🙌🏽. The star jelly was my favorite. It wasn’t too sweet or anything. Honestly it was the best thing I’ve ever had. I will try again. It was $6 but with taxes it was $7. Not that bad. I recommend 🩷
fantastic bubble tea spot with a wide range of flavors and customizable options. The signature milk foam adds a creamy, unique twist to their drinks. Service is quick, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. A go-to place for boba lovers!
Nice place clean good staff good customer service. The bubble tea is amazing. They always have new flavors. The only bad thing is the location. It's too far away from the shopping area. But I do recommend this place. 🧋🧋
This place used to be at Lawrence St but now they're at Willoughby. They move in January 2023. The place is bigger but still needs some work. It feels like a space in a way. Compare to their previous location they don't even put the posters of their new drinks inside which makes it kind of difficult to even know what's new. The people there are very nice. Great place to get some good bubble tea.
First time here, close to where I am at. Glad was not too busy when I went, quick and courteous service. The tea was great, I ordered passion fruit green tea with bubbles. The bubbles were perfect, high quality and on point. Nice little place to hangout with your tea. Glad there is another option,too much hype for Kungfu bubble tea.
This place is clean, nice, similar to Kungfu tea, but a lot sweeter. Sugar wise. The lowest sugar option they have is 30%, which still comes out decently sweet. I know their flushies and smoothies are almost unbearably sweet. Also, their bubbles are small and very chewy, which is a good thing. You can eat/drink them really fast. Over all, it's a good place
The service isn't friendly, but at least efficient when I have been. And the tea is pretty expensive, even compared to a few local options. I usually order a flavored green tea - the pineapple didn't taste like pineapple at all, but I did get the red star jelly, and I enjoyed that part a lot. But the tea just tasted sweet and with no particular flavor. My husband got the brown sugar tea with bubbles and I thought that one was better than mine. I would return here if really craving tea and this was the most convenient option.
Agreement with previous reviews - this place needs work. It does have a smaller but good menu of bubble tea with seasonal specialities that are fun and they can alter sugar percentages which is great for people like me, who like them far less sweet. The staff works very hard but it needs some interior work before it’s a great place. Their automatic ramen machine hopefully goes into functionality this autumn.
This location is the worst. Gongcha- please do better!! So many times I’ve gotten boba that was hard and not chewy at all, from obviously not cooked properly. I feel like it’s so important to get boba consistency right and other places will always deliver consistent chewy boba. What’s the point of being a boba shop if you can’t get the consistency chewy??
I bought an XL-sized tea at this location in mid-April. After taking a few sips, I noticed the taste was very strange and couldn’t finish it. Later, I smelled the lid and it had a foul odor, like a dirty rag 🫥. The next day, I felt very sick and ended up in the hospital. I wrote you a message about this, but no one ever got back to me, it seems like you “don’t gaf”. it’s not worth risking your health (;
Extremely unprofessional and disappointing experience. I walked in five minutes before closing, just like two other customers. They took both of their orders without issue, but when it was finally my turn, they suddenly decided they weren’t taking any more orders—despite having made me wait in line. If you close at 9, then take orders until 9. Turning away paying customers before closing time is unprofessional and shows a complete lack of respect for customers’ time. Won’t be coming back.
