Joya Albee Square Reviews
Found this spot after our original reservation fell through and it ended up being the best decision. The wings were made to order and full of flavor. We tried them dry with tamarind sauce on the side and tossed in the sauce, both were so good. I had the fried snapper with salad and white rice. Crispy, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The cucumber mocktail was light and refreshing and paired perfectly with everything. Definitely a spot I would come back to.
Had one of the best meals of my life here just now. Joya brings nothing but joy in every bite. I had the chicken gyoza, chicken skewers, and summer rolls to start and the food was sooooo good I forgot to take pictures as soon as I took my first bite. The ambiance was amazing, the music wasn’t too loud, and the staff was so attentive and kind. Literally will be coming here much more often. Can’t wait to try all the other items!!
The old people came back!!!!!!everything is good as it used to be, same waiters too. I normally get spicy noodles, ribs and mussels. I definitely missed this place. I tried lemongrass and it was disgusting. So happy to have Joya back. They changed the look of the menu but food the same as before.
Top notch Thai restaurant on Court St. in Brooklyn. We have been going there for over 15 years, I think. Consistently good food, the same friendly waiter, friendly chef (old chef is gone, but new one is a clone, equally good ) ... causal atmosphere ... we always order the same dishes, and crack the same jokes ...
my go to thai spot in the neighborhood, great portion sizes! i mostly order take out from them but the space itself is super cute and great to eat in at as well
I've been here sporadically throughout the years. Same tasty food, same ambiance, just an increase in prices (most likely due to inflation). This is definitely a hit and you'll be happy you are here. We ordered their mussels which is very delicious, calamari paired with their dipping sauce was also delicious, and their wide noodles (pad see yue) with beef. You can never go wrong with that order. They also serve $8 drinks: Margaritas, wine, and cocktails during happy hour. It's been a real pleasure Joya
Maybe you’ve seen some of the negative reviews recently, Joya had been a wonderful restaurant I’ve been eating at for 20 years, but something changed. We went last night and I’m happy to report they fixed whatever it was, and the peanut sauce in the chicken Pad Thai is as magical as it ever was. The staff knows us and what we order as regulars and are very friendly. The atmosphere is relaxing, inside and out. They’ve recently added a happy hour and some meal deals such as a 2 noodle dishes for the price of 1 (I think). I did not want to believe that Joya had gone south, but it’s good to know that the restaurant we’ve loved is as good as ever.
What an great spot! This place has hands down the Best Thai food in NYC. I’ve been coming to Joya for over 14 years now, and this place never disappoints. All the food is so flavorful, and the classic Thai dishes are still my favorite, and I’ve been to Hundreds of Thai spots. The pad se Yoo is my favorite, with a perfect blend of soft flat noodles and bean sauce. All the curries are absolutely delicious, and the spare ribs and all the appetizers are still the best. Plus, our server Charlie was absolutely great, so attentive and very friendly and was quick and reliable. I absolutely LOVE this spot in beautiful cobble hill, Brooklyn.
very chill neighborhood thai spot. super fast service, never too busy, huge portions and great food. everything is super affordable and super tasty. give hole in the wall energy with a touch of class. if i lived in brooklyn id come here for a friday night chill dinner. you dont need a res and will almost always leave with half your plate for another meal. pas see ew is a must.
We loved this Thai restaurant. It was my wife and I first time coming. We came with 2 more friends. The food was delicious: Pad Thai, Ribs, wings, appetizers, drinks and tea. The portions were generous. We came on a Monday so it wasn’t too crowded. The place is clean. Nice atmosphere. The waitress was friendly and attentive. You can eat indoors or outside. The bathroom was clean.
This place is cozy and comfortable to spend one of your dinners here. Food is fresh and delicious 🍲😍®️👍Serving time is super fast. After my order even not five minutes past and I got my soup and appetizers. I was surprisingly shocked of such as fast service. 😳😱❤️😍🍅 Menu has different varieties of interesting dishes, I even never heard about. I definitely will visit this place again to explore and try more traditional Thai food 🍲 🍛🥘🍱🍜🥘🌯🍛
This is one of the best Thai places on Court St (there is a lot of competition in that area) AND one of the best in BK. Definitely worth your time and money. Has a cool vibe with an open kitchen so you are immediately hit with all the smells you want in your culinary experience. They also have a very cute yard out back, which is where we decided to sit on a beautiful April day. Tom Ka soup was extremely good, this was actually my first time experiencing it and it’s now in my all time top 5 soups. My friend had Red Curry Noodles - the dish was delicious and the vegetables smelled beautifully fresh. I had the Pad See Ew with Chicken. Amazing. Portions are quite large so I actually took the rest to go. Also noticed that the pour for all the drinks are also very generous so keep that in mind. Really fantastic experience and will highly recommend.
It was a gorgeous day so we decided to have lunch in the outdoor area behind the restaurant. We started with crab bites which I really enjoyed. For our mains I went shrimp pad kee mao & my sister went with a chicken dish with vegetables & white rice on the side. We both enjoyed our mains. I also decided to try one of their signature cocktails: the Joya rockstar. It looked tastier in photo. All in all a pretty good meal, that wasn’t too expensive on a quiet Sunday afternoon.
The food here is excellent. My friend exclaimed that he had never tasted noodles this good. The staff is attentive and nice. This would have been a five star review but I'm pulling one start because of two things. They have only four less than exciting beers on tap, and if you order something at the bar you can't charge it to your table.
The food was great. The waitress needs to be let go. She was terrible rushed us through dinner and was nasty. Usually the wait staff is wonderful but this one has to go! Also they should stay open later than 10:30pm so you’re not rushed out.
Joya Thai had Thai owners and the food was very good. Late 2024 owners sold to Chinese and now Chinese chefs cook Thai food with same menu. They enhanced the decor and ambiance but the food had changed. The dish I had contained much less chicken in the dish than the prior owners. Friends who go there also sensed a change in the food. Maybe they improved but currently not frequenting often as before.
Been eating here for over 20 years. Always had a fabulous meal here but new owners, new chef, new menu are not as tasty as before. Higher price lower quality plus no dinner specials. Only 2 people at the bar on Friday night. It used to be packed. No more beautiful fliers at the bar ! No bartender either. The waters do the bartending.Such a shame. A great Thai restaurant gone mediocre. So sad…….
