Hanco's Brooklyn Reviews
love the beef broth pho with grilled chicken. Delivery is usually on time and the soup is very hot upon delivery. The best on a cold or hot day.
Such a pleasant experience while visiting Brooklyn. Wonderful staff, clean premises, and DELICIOUS tofu banh mi and bubble tea at reasonable NYC prices
I don’t usually give five star reviews, as I am pretty picky. Today I ordered takeout, and was suggested by the cashier to order the grilled chicken Bahn Mi. The flavor did not disappoint! You can choose to get no spicy, mild, or spicy. I decided to get spicy, and although I feel like it could’ve been more spicy, the quality of the sandwich made me look past it. The chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the veggies were fresh and crunchy, and the bread was also fresh and toasted perfectly! Will be coming back to try their boba next! (Excuse the photos these were the best I could get)
Hanco’s is one of those unassuming neighborhood spots I’ve ordered from a few times for delivery and finally decided to visit in person. The space itself isn’t the tidiest, but that honestly fits the laid-back, no-frills vibe. You order at the counter and bring the food to your own table — it tells you exactly what kind of place this is. We ordered two bowls of classic pho, and the flavor was amazing. The broth was rich and satisfying, and the portions of meat were generous. It’s the kind of comforting bowl you crave on a cold day. We also grabbed a matcha latte pick-me-up, and you know it’s legit when they ask you where you want your matcha sourced from (I went with Fukuoka). That attention to detail was a pleasant surprise. Overall, not fancy — but flavorful, comforting, and absolutely a place I’d come back to again.
Not a bad Vietnamese place. There is a weird kind of funk inside, but the sandwich itself was a solid 6.5/10. It was tasty, but I’ve definitely had better. I got the classic bahn mi, but perhaps a different protein would have been better? Pricey for the quality. The bubble tea was tasty. My thai tea was a bit over-steeped so it had a bitter aftertaste. The taro tea was regular as usual. Service was great though! We came before closing time (without knowing they were closing), but they were very kind and gave us our drinks and accommodated to preference for half sweet and light ice :)
the beef pho could be so much better. Love the toppings, love the amount of meat, and love the flavor of the soup but the noodles suck. it is as if they overboil the noodles way ahead of time or just have poor quality noodle. Please get better noodles
Pretty nifty place overall for bubble tea. Food: bubble tea quality comparable to other bubble tea places. The coconut milk tea with mango jelly was delicious and refreshing. Service: typical of a bubble tea spot—pay, wait, called to collect bubble tea. Atmosphere: cozy spot. Looks nice.
Overall very good banh mi sandwiches, and great vegetarian options. Really, really delicious bread. Our sandwiches (the vegetarian chicken and vegetarian pork) could have used more cilantro. Also, they asked spice level, and we requested medium for the veggie pork and "very hot" for the veggie chicken. The latter was a little hotter (maybe a few more jalapeno slices and a little more spicy mayo), but I was hoping for more heat. The vegetarian "pork" itself was really good and well flavored. The vegetarian "chicken" was good too. I'll be back for the tofu banh mi next time!
Quick service and pleasant staff. They accept cards and you can dine in with proof of vax. Masks when ordering! I liked the meat in the classic sandwich but it didn’t stand out. Nothing was bad, I would definitely come here again I just don’t know if I would go out of my way to go back unless I’m walking by.
Server was rude, everytime I asked a question they would stare at me like I was stupid and try to ignore me. I ordered the pho and for 16 dollars I got a whole lot of fatty pieces and tendons in the pho. The pho also had no flavor for the high price. Bubble tea is okay
The food and speed of service is great- I got nothing but great things to say about the place except for this one experience that am now commenting about. Sanitary and hand washing procedures absolutely lacking. While seated in dining room- I’ve observed tea making server literally picking their nose and flicking it around while in conversation with a mate and proceeds to continues to service drinks without having washed their hands. This can be a one off- by no means am I trying to deter service from the place. Rather I hope management can see this review and take proactive measures to redress this disgusting behavior.
The food was alright and the price was deeming for its portion. Moreover, the customer services were absolutely horrendous. I came with my friend, who ordered one pho and a drink. When we received the tray, we did not get a second chopstick or bowl, so we asked for them. When the server provided them, they gave us an attitude and expressed in cantonese, “So annoying. First, the chopstick. Now, a bowl”. The hostile service we received was enough to ruin our meal.
The broth has zero flavor, the pho is mid at best, and the price is not justified. Definitely won’t be coming back.
Not worth the price. I ordered the shrimp rice and it only came with no more than 6 shrimps. They cut it in half to make it looks like they give a lot of shrimps. I paid like 12 dollars not for lots of salads. I ordered shrimp rices, not just salad. The broth of the pho is tasty but could be better.
