Cafe Chili Albee Square Reviews
Amazing food! Calm and nice atmosphere. The raspberry peach lemonade is really good if you want a sweet non alcoholic beverage. For appetizer, we for the fried calamari, it was nice and crispy! First entree was the Drunken noodles and it was great. Not too spicy. We had order the Thai grill pork chops but they ran out of pork chops and replaced it with grilled ribs. The ribs were tenders with a nice sweet and savory mixture.
I visit here at least once a week when I have my day off or after Mass on Saturday’s. I always get the same thing “Drunken Noodles” it’s so darn good I’m obsessed!! The drinks are so good. The atmosphere! The staff are always checking on you & they’re all so kind. Once I tried a new drink & I didn’t like it, they gave me another drink without me having to pay for the one I didn’t like & that was such a sweet gesture.
Took myself out for a solo dinner here per the recommendation of my friend who lives in the neighborhood. Amazing drunken noodles! Super attentive service, very flavorful meal, and fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommend 🤤
My cousin and I came for afternoon tea and everything was so delicious and our waitress was so kind and thoughtful!! Highly recommend stopping in for the afternoon tea service! can’t wait to come back!
Cute thai restaurant run by a friendly couple - the afternoon tea set and the party platter was delicious and beautifully presented.
We ordered the 4 appetizer platter and drunken noodles every dish was absolutely delicious! The sirloin appetizer was so tender. The chicken satay was grilled perfectly. The calamari had a nice crunch without being oily. We went coco for the coconut shrimp and the Thai iced tea was sweet without being too sugary. Will definitely be back!
Love this place! We stopped by for lunch. The service was so welcoming and friendly! I ordered the pad see ew and it was delicious. It comes with a warm soup that fits this type of cold weather. My husband ordered the massaman curry lunch box and I loved the flavor of the curry. Reminds me of when my dad makes it at home. We also had the afternoon tea set and it was beautifully presented. The selections were chosen by the chef and I think it was so thoughtfully mixed of savory and sweet dishes. I can’t believe we finished it all! It pairs well with their hot Thai iced tea with a little addition of a cinnamon stick. The flavor is stronger but so much better. We also tried their mango matcha latte and cinderella drink. You can’t go wrong with either one. We’re definitely coming back again!
Cafe Chili is a hidden gem! It’s been in the neighborhood for a while and it’s loved by everyone I know. It’s authentic, welcoming, and down to earth. We’ve had almost everything over the years and my personal favorites are Red Snapper (basil sauce), Roasted Duck Curry, Andaman Noodles, and of course the classic - drunken noodles with shrimp. The Thai Iced Tea is a bit too sweet for me but the Lychee Iced Tea is perfect (you can tell they use real tea). You can’t get better Chive Pancakes and Coconut Shrimp under $10. Lemongrass nearby may always have long lines but here you can get some staple quality Thai flavors quickly and comfortably. Highly recommended!
I have had afternoon teas across the city, but this is hands down one of the best ones I have ever had. The finger foods were beautifully presented, as delicious as they were surprising, and a good combo of sweet and savory options. One tea set leaves you full, and at under $45 per person, one of the best choices for value anywhere in the city. The tea option also comes with your choice of any non-alcoholic drink--the lychee Thai tea and the mango matcha latte are amazing. The service was also wonderful! We sat indoors but they also have an adorable garden area as well. Don't come here (so I can keep this place to myself)!
Lovely spot run by this sweet couple who have been running this business for two decades! Gorgeous back patio area. Perfect for a co-working lunch. I even took calls here because the patio was empty on a Monday afternoon other than my friend and I. We experienced such fantastic service, and I felt welcomed as if I was eating lunch at someone’s house. The pad see ew was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Slight char on the noodle and chinese broccoli makes such a difference. The chive pancakes were divine and I still think about it, and they are vegan. They have an afternoon tea tasting menu that we did not try, but looked beautiful in the plating and details. Don’t miss out on this gem.
I like this place. We had lunch there. My friend ordered a lunch box, and I had the Masaman curry with chicken. It was very tasty. A salad was also included in the lunch price, with an amazing peanut dressing. I think that many people also order takeaway from this restaurant, as drivers showed up frequently during our stay. I'd be happy to eat here again.
This was such a pleasant experience. The afternoon tea was so beautifully crafted and presented and such a good deal! The food was all delicious, and the service was outstanding. They do serve their afternoon tea all day, but recommend making a reservation and letting them know you would like it ahead of time.
Tried the afternoon tea experience and I felt so taken care of when I dined here. They described all the items in the dishes. We had the hot Thai tea and it was absolutely delicious with the meal. I had the vegetarian version of the course. Everything was very flavourful the savory and sweet dishes. Would definitely do it again.
Craving some Sumptuous Thai Food? Then look no further -Cafe Chilli is your choice and it is located on Court Street easy walk if you live in the neighborhood or short walk from trains. Worth the Trip! I have been going to this place almost 1, maybe 2 years now, time flies so not quite sure which it is. But each time I go I am always satisfied and never disappointed. If you are hungry and not sure what you are in the mood for… the Cafe Chili is the place. You are sure to find a delicious meal that will satisfy your hunger! They have a wide selection of appetizers/starters as well as main course and deserts. We usually select a few options and share…Some of our favorites are the Pretty Package, Satay Chicken and for the main the Ginger or Three Flavor Snapper-all snappers are just yummy! We have tried different items each time and all are really good. Kudos to the chef for being consistent. The owners-Mr.Gary and Ms.Jet are always there unless gone for vacation, but they are so involved as well and make sure you are enjoying yourself.Very Warm People who take great pride in their establishment.Jeffery who I have been seeing lately is a cool server, pleasant and friendly. The ambience is always quite peaceful, some restaurants are always too busy, but this one has the right clientele popping in right throughout the day. We also have our preferred eating spot by the door, but we also switch it up sometimes. In the warmer months they also have outdoor dining available. You also get value for your money! Overall I just LOVE this place… because my hunger for great food is always satisfied! The food is yummy in my tummy. Try it for yourself, you will thank me!
We went to Cafe Chili for dinner and had such a great experience. Service was great as our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The food we had was delicious! For starters, we had the coconut shrimp and the corn fritters (which were my favorite - I would have had another order!). For entrées, we had the pork chops and the green curry with crispy duck. Both portions were very generous and we had enough left over to take home. Even though we were both stuffed, we still ordered dessert and were so glad we did. Definitely order dessert.
The atmosphere is lovely and the food for the most part is delightful. I hade the Chili's appetizer platter (including thai wings, crying tiger, coconut shrimp and dumplings). For entree, I had the Basil Snapper; it was by far my favorite dish. Fair warning, the dumplings were a bit bland and the spicy dishes aren't really spicy. Overall, I enjoyed my meal
We ordered the appetizer platter (4 appetizers for $36) and everything was beautifully presented. The vegetarian dumplings had great texture but were a little lacking in flavor, and the crying tiger plate wasn’t as spicy as we expected. The coconut shrimp and Thai wings were both excellent. For our mains, we had the drunken noodles and the red snapper, and both were fantastic. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of spice, but overall the food was delicious and I would definitely recommend this place.
The Afternoon Tea Set was absolutely beautiful. I loved they have a lot of tea collections, which were refillable, and their service was great. One downfall was that all the foods were too sweet and too salty at the same time. Every bite was sweet and salty in every way. I tried to wash it down with tea, but the tea was also sweet...😂 it would've been better if their savory items were not sweet so that the sweet and savory combo worked right.
Solid 4, great neighborhood spot! Menu highlights: Papaya Salad and the basil red snapper!! saw a lot of people getting take out but the vibe at the restaurant was calm and comforting. The food was quite nice, asked for everything extra spicy and they did not disappoint! Would definitely order from here or visit again!
