The Good Stuff

You have to try out the cardamom pastry, it’s great. I suggest going a bit lighter on the sugar with their coffees. Not a ton of seating space but nice atmosphere.

If you are serious about speciality coffee, this place is a must. We had a single origin espresso (Brazilian natural) that was outstanding, a really tasty iced cardamom latte, and a pricey Ethiopian natural hand brew (filter) that was absolutely delicious and worth the price. The signature cardamom bun was yummy. But we’re disappointed there were no vegan options and no decaf coffee. The design of the cafe is really wonderful and we loved the space and furniture. The shop has high-end coffee gear and La Cabra roasts. Roastery is visible at the rear.

La Cabra offers fun and educational classes on coffee. I attended a pourover class and enjoyed learning about cupping and brewing. The class brewed and tasted about 7 different coffees, and each student enjoyed an excellent cardamom bun to top it off. I had a great experience. La Cabra's coffee is reference-quality for those (like me) who appreciate lighter roasts.

Took an espresso cupping course here. Forrest was fantastic and super knowledgeable. Learned everything I could ever think of when it comes to espresso and what all goes into the process from beginning to end. Would highly recommend and also their cardamom latte is a must try along with the cold brew if you that’s more your speed. Pastries were delish too.

They’re methodical about quality, and take what they do seriously. One of the best coffee shops you’ll ever go to.

Such a beautiful coffee shop. The interior is cool, the people who come here are cool, and I love that you order at the counter and they bring everything to your table. Their matcha latte and americano were amazing. You can really tell they use high quality ingredients. This is officially my new favorite coffee spot.

This is a Danish coffee chain with several locations in Manhattan, and they recently opened this new one in Brooklyn. I’ve visited their Manhattan cafés before, and today I came to this location to enjoy my Sunday. They have designated laptop pods for people who want to work, but laptops are not allowed at the regular tables so others can sit and enjoy the space. If you plan to work, come early — by 10 a.m. on a Sunday, every pod was already taken. As always, their coffee and pastries were excellent. This time I tried the hot cardamom latte (I’ve only had the iced version before). My preference is still the iced one, but the hot latte was good too. The ham and cheese pastry and cardamom bun were both outstanding, and the espresso was rich, smooth, and very high quality. I also love their minimalist Scandinavian aesthetic — clean, calm, and beautifully designed. Highly recommend this location if you’re in Brooklyn.

I love this bakery - unfortunately it’s crowded during the weekend, so not many places to sit down. What’s cool though is that there are different seating areas: to hang out, to work or sitting outside. I can’t get enough of their cardamom buns and viennoiseries. Their coffee is excellent. There is a roastery in the back.

The atmosphere in here is really nice. They offer a variety of coffee products along with their coffee. I had a cortado but there are many drinks with a variety of brewing methods. The baristas were very nice!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 La Cabra is an absolutely stunning café—beautifully designed and a true gem for coffee lovers. Their pastries are house-made and incredibly delicious, and they roast their own beans in-house for top-quality coffee. The front area is perfect for chatting with friends, while the back is reserved for laptop use (though seats are limited). Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a quiet coffee moment or have a cozy brunch meet-up—not ideal for working long hours, but perfect for savoring the experience.

This coffee shop is an experience. The interior design is gorgeous. It has a Japanese zen feel with modern and unique elements, plus a variety of seating (tables, solo desks, outdoor). They also had a really interesting playlist — all instrumental and very ethereal. The design and music just made our time here feel like something more special than just a coffee shop visit. Plus, the coffee and pastries were excellent. Highly recommend.

I attended a cupping and mini barista class at La Cabra in your area. It was a really nice experience. Their coffee was great and the instructor, Forest, was very kind and patient. He answered the million questions we had.

Loved the vibes inside this place. Much larger space than I anticipated, with spots for conversation and reflection, but also an area to work on your laptop or have more focused time. The coffee was delightful! It was more expensive than I anticipated but worth it.

Great coffee. I got iced Cortado with oat milk as always and my husband got a glass of cold brew. They do not have sugar alternatives, only simple syrup. The baked goods are incredible—pairs very well with the coffee. One of the best cortados I’ve gotten in the city and the espresso drinks are cheaper than the soho location. (I think a cup of Cortado at soho location was $7) They provide a calm Japandi interior with shared tables and individual study nooks. Very cute spot to hang out.

Came to find out what all the rave is about — and left thoroughly impressed. La Cabra’s Bushwick location is more than a coffee shop… it’s an intentional sensory experience. From the moment I stepped in, it was clear: every detail has been considered. The design, the ambiance, the pastries, the handmade ceramics — even the bathroom — all spoke the same elegant language of reverence for craft. I had the La Llanada pour over, a washed Colombian origin that unfolded like a slow-blooming flower. The longer it sat, the more its flavor deepened — bright, articulate, and evolving with every sip. Served in a K.H. Würtz ceramic cup, the drink felt elevated — as if the vessel itself was part of the ritual. The space feels like a cathedral to Specialty Coffee — minimal, beautiful, grounded. And the barista Jo added a human warmth that made the whole experience even richer. Friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about the craft. La Cabra didn’t just meet the hype — it transcended it.

In the morning, La Cabra is flooded with natural light from the sun outside. The atmosphere is so warm and tranquil. They have lots of seating and even a study cubby hidden behind the main entrance for working on your laptop. I ordered their ham and cheese croissant and latte. The croissant was cold by the time I got there but it honestly didn’t matter. The flavour was incredible and you could taste the quality of the cheese, herbs and ham! It was crunchy on the outside but the middle layers were just oozing with butter! As for the latte, it was perfect. The coffee was smooth, creamy and warm. Thank you to whoever made it! This was truly an experience I needed this morning!

Amazing espresso done right. You can usually tell if it'll be good or not just by feeling the temperature of the cup! It did not disappoint. The pastries are also on point. Most places you usually have to choose between good coffee and bad pastry or bad coffee and food pastry. This place has got it all.

A beautifully designed café with some of the best coffee in Brooklyn. We stopped by for our morning coffee before heading out on a city trip. Initially, we planned to take away, but the interior was so inviting that we decided to sit down and soak in the atmosphere. The interior design, mellow background music, stylish designer coffee cups (which they also sell), and even the ceiling-mounted speakers all contributed to a great experience. The coffee was smoother and less acidic than what we’ve found at other cafes in Brooklyn/NYC, and the pastries—especially the croissant—were delicious. At the back of the café bar, they have small work pods, thoughtfully placed for people who need to get some work done. While it might feel a bit unsocial, it’s perfect for deep-focus tasks if needed. One small hiccup: they spilled a bit of cappuccino while serving my Italian friend. We weren’t sure if it was an honest mistake or a reaction to him forgetting to tip, given how important tipping is in New York. Regardless, we’ll definitely return to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere again.

I usually come for the matcha and a place to work from for a short period of time. The matcha is excellent in quality but can be quite pricey for the teeny tiny dine-in cup they give you. The interior is completely stunning, as is all La Cabras. I feel like it could be in Tokyo or Copenhagen. There is a designated laptop area, which I completely respect, but can be a little uncomfortable for long visits. If I don’t plan on staying for very long, it’s a nice visit. But I usually go elsewhere if I need to sit down for more than 90 minutes.

Cardamom bun was good but not the best I’ve ever had. All the pastries looked burnt on top so it was a bit hard to justify the price point. Espresso was stunning and best I’ve had in a while. Would definitely come back. Reading the reviews some people clearly don’t know how to work without the internet which is sad. It seems the art of writing and reading for work are dying… Can definitely see why people are complaining about the gentrifier vibes unfortunately. The wave of Instagramable coffee shops has gone too far.

Lê Phin offers a unique Vietnamese coffee experience that stands out from the rest. Their phin-brewed coffee is strong, flavorful, and aromatic, just like in Vietnam. The café has a chill, modern vibe with a focus on minimal design and authentic taste. The staff is polite and clearly passionate about coffee. On the downside, the menu is limited — it’s mostly drinks and light snacks — and the space can get crowded during rush hours. Still, the quality of coffee makes it absolutely worth it. If you love strong brews with character, Lê Phin should be on your NYC coffee list. It’s the perfect spot to slow down and enjoy a truly handcrafted cup.

I came here as a spot to grab some coffee and chat with friends. The interior of the cafe is spacious and there are booths for you to do your work at, tables that are reserved as 'non-laptop' tables (only for chatting), and outdoor seating. Service was quick. I got their Cardamom latte & croissant, and enjoyed it. The cardamom latte was a bit too sweet for my liking, so I would ask for less syrup next time, and the croissant was solid. Cute cafe.

Pros: Good coffee and espresso. Outdoor seating. Love the ceramics they serve drinks in. Cons: Overpriced. All the pastries are stored in the same case as the cardamon buns so they all taste of cardamom. Definitely prefer the friendly vibe of my local shop. This place definitely has pretentious vibes.
