Hala Coffee & Kitchen Brooklyn Reviews
Coffee, tea, and food are all top notch. The wifi’s fast, and it’s a prime spot for a meeting or getting work done out of the house.
This place understands what makes meals memorable. The prices are right for the good food served. The workers offered timely attention with respectful and helpful attitudes. Their meals preserve authentic flavor profiles. REALLY SUPERB.
Hala is so much more than just a coffee shop! This place is a haven of community here in Bushwick, where the Baristas know your name and there is always a warmth and welcoming atmosphere. This place is literally a home away from home for me here in the neighborhood, and coming here is always a sweet spot in my day! In times of crisis when i need to sit in a comforting place, and on good days too when i just want to enjoy a moment of happiness, it’s just the place to go! The coffee here is sooo delicious! They’re always changing up the seasonal flavor with a homemade invention, and I highly recommend their food as well! It’s not just coffee shop food! It’s a restaurant that i would say is a destination! Personally i love the veggie bowl with grilled chicken added- there is nothing like it!! Do yourself a favor and take some time for yourself, go enjoy a relaxing moment away from the chaos of the city, cozy up at Hala cafe and you’ll see what i mean ;)
Recommended by a friend who had lived in the neighborhood for a while, and wow—it did not disappoint! First proper breakfast and coffee (at 2 p.m. lol) I've had around here, and I was blown away. The latte was the exact perfect temperature, with impeccable foam. I had the biscuits and gravy and, as a Southerner by birth, I say this plate could hold its own against anything down home. Love at first bite—it will be a challenge not to take up residency here every morning. 10/10!!!
Been here a few times now, and honestly the place is so under-rated. The food tastes like something that could have been prepared at a five-star restaurant -- beautifully presented and *packed* with amazing flavors every single time! Highly recommend the house pancakes, acai bowl, breakfast pita, and chicken sandwich. You won't be disappointed. Aside from that, the baristas are super friendly to just chat with on a lazy weekend afternoon, and there's plenty of space to sit and work. 6/5 stars!
Hala is the cafe experience that anyone would want in the neighborhood. a large space with a good amount of seating serving menu of quality eats and drinks. stumbled in here on a sleepy Saturday and was in need of coffee. the Americano came out piping hot and full of that caffeinated flavor when the day has been too cold and you’re running on fumes and it’s only the early afternoon. the coffee was quite good and did its job. while it was a sleepy Saturday, Hala was full of people working / studying so it was pretty quiet. the vibe was definitely low key. the space is really clean, well-organized, soaked in light, and has a welcoming tone to it all. the service was chipper and the warm. wish i had taken advantage of the food options (they look good) but that’s a good excuse to return. and only in Bushwick would a cafe bathroom key be named “Kevin”—do with that knowledge what you may.
THE FOOD! Let it be known, the food here is entirely underrated. Everything on the menu is delicious. Its fresh, well balanced flavor you'd never expect from a coffee shop. Come in, get a classic cup, and be genuinely excited about whatever you order for your belly. The Farro Bowl and the Breakfast Pita are the favs.
This review is about sustainability! I really appreciate that you offer real mugs, plates, and glassware to your customers. By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. And over 95% of the plastic that we produce and consume, does not actually get recycled, but rather ends up in landfills, incinerators, and in our waterways. It means a lot to me as a customer to support businesses that are mindful of the fact that Brooklyn is a waterfront community. So I am grateful for the more sustainable option! I do wonder if it could be communicated a bit more clearly to those eating in house, perhaps by asking explicitly at the register if they will be staying for their beverage. Just a thought! And could help folks realize that they have this awesome choice to be better to the planet. Thank you for your consideration, and thank you for the delicious cappuccino! I will definitely be back.
We came here on a Saturday morning and were happy to see it wasn’t completely packed like most cafes in the area during the weekend. We ordered at the bar and I decided on the chicken sandwich with a side salad. We sat ourselves close to the front windows and were given order numbers that the servers used to drop of out played when they were ready. The service here was fast and friendly as well. The vibe was very clean and modern, especially for the area!
Surprisingly (to me) great food to me, coffee is decent (hit or miss sometimes), service is ok, but shoutout to Sydney (sorry if I spelled it incorrectly) for being an extra friendly & attentive server. Good place on a regular weekday to sit down and be productive. Can get crowded over the weekend. Limited business hour (but not a huge issue for me)
To make a long story short, I’ve been coming here a while and I always buy stuff and I always buy stuff at the bagel place at the owner Has right next-door. I come in here like I usually do and I just sit down on my phone. Why did the lady asked me three times while I was coming out of the bathroom. Once while I was sitting like came up leaned over the table. Listen, I totally get when people have policies where they have to buy stuff in order to share the space but I’ve been here before like several times like and it’s not that deep to get that passive aggressive with somebody. Ive been here mutiple times is very awkward and confrontational for no reason and really embarrassing to shout the across the cafe. If I was some homeless or a new person I get it. Please by all means tell people directly that we cant have people here unless they are not buying.
