Lighthouse Albee Square Reviews
Love this place!!!! I had dinners with friends here (smaller and larger groups for celebrations) and it’s always amazing and pleasantly surprising! Food is very, very good, prepared with love and care. My absolute favorites are ceviche, THE labne (smokey and absolutely delicious), israeli nachos, chicken shawarma and all salads and deserts - pie and chocolate mouse!! Atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed, warm with nice lights…great place to enjoy delicious food and talk over a nice bottle of wine (wine list is also good and offers variety). We always enjoy our time here and will definitely continue to do so…Possibly the best Mediterranean restaurant I’ve been to.
Excellent food, great service and staff with wonderful aura.
We were there on Monday night for a group dinner and we practically ordered the whole menu. I can’t begin to tell you that EVERYTHING on the menu was AMAZING. We loved the dips, the salads, the tuna poke was off the hook, and the salmon skewers and the chicken shawarma made me drool. They also have $1 oysters which were coming back this weekend to have!! Love this place and the vibe is spot on!
Tonight was the first time we had dinner at Lighthouse, and the entire staff exceeded all expectations.
We had a group of 8 and it was perfect. Appetizers were fresh and delicious and so plentiful that by the time our meals came out half of us were to full to eat. We were celebrating and they were awesome. Cannot recommend it enough. They were short staffed and it was still one of the best dining experiences.
Overall atmosphere feels warm and inviting despite the dishes feeling very elevated. I ordered the ceviche, the steak tartare, north TLV hummus and the grilled market fish. Everything was exceptional, but the grilled branzino was amazing. Paired with nectarine and cilantro—the flavor combinations were so unique. Definitely recommend!
Had the oysters (delicious, came right off the shell), and the Vermouth Spritz which was delicious! Best olives ever!!!
The oysters are so fresh. The cocktail of the day was yummy and refreshing. Our bartender; Erin, was great and a total pro. We will be coming back often.
Great atmosphere and the perfect spot for a fun date night or dinner with friends. The food is delicious and the cocktails are great, too-- try something with the homemade ginger ale! We have so many favorite dishes, but can't go wrong with some oysters, the big salad, and the burger. Highly recommend!
Fantastic food as always! Great selection of wines of all kinds. Most charming hosts!
Wow! The best place in the city! The food is amazing! The service is excellent! Love it
This is a special place. The entire team at Lighthouse always make me feel welcome and the menu is seasonal with fresh flavors and intentional sourcing. The music is on point and I appreciate seeing the entire team working together and enjoying each others' company as well as mine. Thank you. I am always surprised by new items while continuing to order the faves- fries, tahini, and smoked labne.
The food just gets better and better as you eat. It’s never dry nor bad. All the servers are extremely nice and careful. The vibe is always delightful and pleasant. This is a must try. The owner also has a restaurant called Messy which is another great spot.
Our NYC trips always include a visit to Lighthouse ! We are from Seattle and each time is a warm, wonderful experience with friendly staff. The food is always spot on … extra points for sourcing locally. Keep it up… great experience!
Wonderful place. Great food and the music was nice and not too loud. We had the ceviche, hummus, chicken shawarma. All were great! Service was attentive and helpful. Sorry we ate before taking photos.
The service was phenomenal. Both waiters were exceptional and supper accommodating. Great place!
Love this place - burger excellent! Staff, amazing
Absolute delicious food. Loved the grilled fish with peach snap pea and cilantro salad - will be looking to copy that! If you love delicious produce prepared simply but really well come here! Cocktails were also really tasty
Wonderful dinner for a friend's birthday on 8/3/24. Shared a wide variety of delicious, mezze, salads, vegetables, steak, fish and chicken. Spectacular service. Love the communal atmosphere. Noise level is a little loud(for me personally), but contributes to the lively atmosphere. Exceptional dinner and experience all around.
This place is wonderful, highly recommend. We went for a catchup dinner with some friends from out of town, and one of our group has an allergy to onion and garlic. They were so helpful and accommodating. Our server and the chef worked with us to find which items were safe, and which could be amended. They ended up significantly altering a handful of dishes. On top of being very kind, they all came out amazing which is impressive since I love garlic and onion. Everything we had (lots of food and a few cocktails) was fresh, interesting, and delicious, and the environment was perfect for a casual but nice dinner. Do yourself a favor and check out Lighthouse.
I love it here - great food, great vibe. Always busy but always has space for you. Perfect menu and wonderful service!
This is THE BEST spot in the city!! Staff are so so friendly and the food is so delicious. Love the vibe, best spot for people watching or a nice meal with friends! HIGHLY recommend.
There’s just no beating lighthouse. They’ve been consistently amazing for over 10 years, and around here, that’s no easy feat. What’s more is they do it with an ethical stance towards everything they do. Sustainable, organic, local, and always friendly. Food trends can be infuriating, but lighthouse doesn’t need to be trendy. It has a timeless, effortless vibe that never fails to put a smile on my face.
Absolutely fantastic dining experience. From the pleasant greeting to the available seating I was at peace for a change in NYC. It was a cold evening and nothing but good company, cold whiskey and hot soup could comfort me. We arrived during happy hour so there was no avoiding the benefit. We took advantage if the $1 oysters and $10 cocktails. The oysters are absolutely fantastic, fresh and flavorful. Cocktails are delicately prepared by professional staff with care. My main course was the mushroom soup. The bowl was filled to the brim with delicious ingredients and perfectly blended altogether. I had nothing but an excellent experience this evening and will definitely be returning to try more dishes. My wife had the chicken shawarma. I have to say, the combination of fermented pepper, fresh chick peas and fresh greens really intrigues the palate. The dish is served with fresh, soft and delicious pita bread and I'll be honest if you're a bread lover like me, you'll be pleased. In total we've had a wonderful experience here and we are already looking for an opening in our schedule to visit again.
First of all, they have the most welcoming vibes and the staffs are sooooo friendly! The burrata, beef tartare, and chicken shawarma are MUST!! Esp the chicken shawarma was so juicy and tender I could have that dish every day. Definitely coming back with more friends so that we can order everything on the menu 😂
Delicious oysters and great flavors all around. I had the chicken shawarma which was clean and filling.
My favorite restaurant in BK. Naama, the owner, is a shining light in the NYC Slow Food scene. Such a wonderful food entrepreneur and community builder. Please support her and her amazing staff. The food is incredible. I recommend the Israeli nachos on the Happy Hour menu featuring seasonally appropriate veggies and ingredients. See you there!
3rd time in less than six months and it was perfect tonight again for Christmas Eve Thank you for the sharp tastes and almond treats !
We liked this place so much we hired their catering for our baby shower. Our guests said it was the best mezze they ever had. It’s a kind and authentic family business. Highly recommend.
We used Lighthouse to cater a 25-person event and they were fantastic. The food was delicious and affordable and came in very nice compostable boxes that went right onto the tables. For a modest fee, Lighthouse also delivered and set up the food, which was so helpful as we were busy with other event activities. Highly recommend their catering services and we’d use them again in a heartbeat!
I’ve been to lighthouse on multiple occasions and it’s become my favorite restaurant in NYC. The food is truly phenomenal. I highly recommend for any occasion
The food at this place was GREAT. A very gourmet American taste means that the meals are not for the closed-minded or picky eater, but for a mature pallet, the tastes and scents of a Lighthouse meal are incredible. Watch out for a bit of bitterness on some of the fire roasted entrees and vegetable plates, but otherwise just enjoy!
Had “the pickled things” platter at home, so hungover, and the jammy egg brought a tear to my eye and a spark back to my life.
Happy hour was amazing and the drinks even better. The burrata burger and bread were absolutely incredible, will definitely be returning
The food here is life altering. The service is amazing and the atmosphere is laid back and friendly. Some STAND out dishes that are must try. The Labne. I mean WHAT?!? It’s a yogurt dip that has this unbelievable smoked aspect to it. INCREDIBLE. The Ceviche is so fresh and perfectly prepared. We also ordered the big salad, hummus, shawarma and burrata not one thing was a miss. Everything was taken to go and was still unreal. Magical experience will be back OFTEN. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Casual, no pressure to turn the table. Food was good. We sat at the bar and ordered dinner there. The homemade sourdough was amazing. Started w the hummus, which was deconstructed, but good, all of it was fresh, but I was not expecting to have to mash it up myself. Wish I had a blender. I got the chicken sandwich which was excellent. My friends got the fish of the day and a cheese burger. Both enjoyed immensely. I would go back and would recommend to friends.
We love this place!! Amazing drinks and food, but our favorite part is Emil - he has made us feel so welcome every time we come. Always remembering us and our orders. He has such incredible energy - really makes us come back time and time again. Highly recommend!!
Not only is the happy hour incredible (daily 5-6 pm) but the vibe is stellar. We had $1 oysters (limit 1.5 dz), the cerveza + shot, and the sparkling cava (perfectly dry). The daily sandwich was $10 and was chicken shawarma. Maybe the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Olivia was a wonderful server and the guy behind the bar was super friendly. Def recommend and I’d be here everyday if I lived here.
Had the best time here. Our server Margaret took such good care of us, had the best energy the entire night and was so sweet! Also was celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday and they treated us so specially and printed personalized menus for us saying happy birthday to him. The little touches really felt so special and they did an amazing job. Will be back here!!
I walk past this spot all the time and always notice the laughter and good vibes coming from inside. I'm happy to say, it’s just as pleasant as it looks. The doors were open on this nice day, and we enjoyed a great breeze flowing through. I had the drink of the day, a blood orange spritz, and it was solid. The food? Also, a win. The chicken shawarma was layered with flavor, so so good. I’ll definitely be coming back for it again. The pita? Fresh, fluffy and just right. Bonus points for accepting InKind and Blackbird. That alone sealed the deal for a return visit.
I would def come back to this resto 🫶 Oysters were super fresh and the happy hour burger was bomb 💣 Olivia and the staff members were very welcoming and accommodating. Had a wonderful experience dining here. They also make their sour dough bread, they sell them for $10. It’s a huge bread and tasty too.
An all-around incredible dining experience from start to finish. We initially struggled to get a table at 6pm on a Saturday, but after a quick call, the hostess managed to seat us promptly when we arrived at 6:15pm—an impressive feat of hospitality right off the bat. Service was stellar throughout: water appeared before we even asked, and our server visited frequently to ensure we were well taken care of, without ever feeling intrusive. We lucked out just minutes before happy hour ended and ordered a dozen $1 oysters (normally $3 each), and they were flawless—no grit, expertly shucked so the delicate meats were intact and easy to savor. Paired with fresh lemon and a clever mignonette served in a dropper, the oysters set a high bar. Cocktails were spot-on, and the dinner that followed kept pace. The paccheri pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente, with fresh vegetables and a sauce that hit every note. The portion was just right, leaving room for sides like the roots—a beautifully balanced plate of roasted beet, kohlrabi, celeriac, sheep’s milk cheese, basil, and hazelnuts. Everything tasted vibrant and thoughtfully composed. The grass-fed steak, served medium rare, was prepared perfectly, and the accompanying fries remained crisp throughout the meal—an often-overlooked detail that speaks volumes about their kitchen’s standards. For dessert, we opted for the dark chocolate mousse to go, and though the hostess warned it might not travel well, it arrived home in top form: richly chocolatey, not overly sweet, and crowned by truly luxurious cream. Every staff member seemed deeply engaged in ensuring a positive experience—water bottles were continuously cooled and refreshed, dishes arrived hot and precisely timed, and the entire team worked in harmony, never standing idle. Their attention to detail and genuine warmth made it clear that they care about creating something special. I’d come back without hesitation. Lighthouse BK shines in ambiance, quality, service, and heart.
I came alone for happy hour and my server was a super sweet cutie pie who recommended the dark and stormy and he did not steer me wrong. It was so good I opted for another. I ordered 2 dozen oysters which were fresh and delicious. The mignonette sauce was excellent- I’ve tried other places which were not nearly as good. The music and atmosphere was very pleasant and welcoming and I appreciated the open airy environment which falls between classy and rustic. Definitely a great spot for a date or larger party given they also have benches for family style seating. I would certainly recommend Lighthouse and come again with friends.
What a wonderful place! The food is somehow both gorgeous and homey, like being hugged by your most fabulous friend. Had the Big Salad with Grilled Chicken, the Hummus, and a Ginger Lemon spritzer: delicious. And if you are lucky enough to get into conversation wih the owners Naama and Assaf- highly recommend!
Lighthouse BK is a Mediterranean restaurant in Brooklyn. They have a few tables outside and maybe 20 or so inside. The staff here are amazing, so friendly and helpful but also always around to get you what you need. They have a decent sized menu and prices arefair for the portions you get. The taste though is amazing. If you got a group, the mezze platter is perfect to try everything. Their steak is cooked extremely well, and their fish is fresh and delicious. Overall an amazing experience and the service couldn't have been better. Highly recommend making reservations at least a few days ahead of time.
Overall a lovely dining experience, we tried the steak salad and grilled market fish. Both were delicious, though I wish there hadn’t been so much sauce on the fish because the fish on its own was already beautifully cooked and seasoned without needing all the extra sauce. Fries were impeccable (the ketchup was a slay). Service staff were also amazing and attentive throughout!
Amazing brunch at lighthouse! East-going vibes inside with AC and good fans for summer. Everybody who works there is so kind, and you don’t need reservations weeks in advance to get in. I’m excited to try it for dinner! I highly recommend the Bloody Mary. I always get a Bloody Mary at brunch and can confidently say this was one of my favorites ever. So high quality. The iced coffee was delish too. For food, we started with some oysters, which were all SO fresh. Extra points for a smart approach to mignonette sauce: they put it in a dropper bottle! I also loved the eggplant labneh and olives from the mezze part of the menu. The heirloom tomato starter with feta is so perfectly seasoned with spices and olive oil - loved this! For entrees, we split the chilaquiles and the green omelette. Both were fantastic. The chilaquiles were especially good for sharing given how many chips it’s served with. The omelette was so simple and yet one of the most flavorful omelettes I’ve ever had. The Smokey tahini that comes with the omelette is an especially great touch!
Went with a group of 9 and did the prix fixe menu, drinks and atmosphere is great but the space was a cramped for our numbers and the food quantity/portions were a little off for a party our size leaving many people unable to try certain dishes. We still left full and happy and would go back!
It's a great bite to eat very friendly and warm service. Beware of the false advertising happy hour limits 30 oysters per table. Definitely should let people know, but otherwise oysters were fresh.
Great vibes, good service and the most delicious food! I loved that my friends and I were attended to but also left to catch up and enjoy the yummy food. I just wish they gave more pita with the mezze plates. Would def come back again!
We delightfully stumbled into this place across the street from the bike shop we had our bikes in. Needed a place to “get one drink”. Service was great. Had a great conversation with the bartender. Had some food. This place is definitely my speed. Decor, bathroom (I love a wash up sink accessible outside the bathroom doors in a restaurant), big open windows and food was great. And, as always, thanks to the staff for the holiday weekend hospitality. My singular complaint is naming an Arab dish, Israeli Salad. I find that politically in your face and disrespectful to indigenous cultures everywhere. You can be Israeli and not rewrite regional food and colonize that. Call it a Mediterranean salad, if need be. But, that salad was not invented in 1948. It won’t stop ME from coming back, necessarily. But, constructive criticism, I know many people would not step through the threshold because of it. In fact, as we sat there over a couple hours, I watched several (POC) folks look at the menu and turn around and walk away.
The bar chairs are the worst. It is uncomfortable and they need to adjust the bartop height with the bar chair height. The shorter you are, the more uncomfortable it is. Came for happy hour and the bartender was great. Everything was decent, nothing special. The pita bread and sourdough are wonderful, do not pass on those. The oysters were not the freshest and they were super watery/fishy.
Visited this spot in Williamsburg recently — loved the focus on fermented ingredients and bold flavors like tahini and harissa. We had two market fish dishes and a few mezze, and the quality was definitely high. Everything tasted super fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and unique. That said, portions were on the small side for the price (we spent around $90–$100), so just keep that in mind. When we asked if the mezze came with sourdough, the waitress said yes, but then the owner(I assume) asked us to order it separately ($5). Not a big deal, but small gestures like that could go a long way in making guests feel more welcome. The biggest downside was the noise — it was really loud inside, which made it hard to relax or have a proper conversation. Overall, we loved the food but probably wouldn’t come back just because of the atmosphere.
Simple but good food. All wines seem to be natural wines and most of them are "Funky" . Why??? Ultimately wine should not distract the food. More is something that elevates expectations . Why not have choices of both traditional and natural. A shame to drink natural white wine with oysters. Kind of destroys the exclusivity. I know natural wines are easy to drink for people not into wine. But still... At least give us the choice. When going out it is not about a restaurant educating people. Rather to make sure people get a great experience.
Food has lacked flavor for years. The shwarma pita was the last straw though, tasted truly awful. Service was so bad, had to go inside to get checked on.
Solid spot for a neighborhood favorite. With a combination of communal tables and four tops you feel the energy. We were there on a Friday night but sat right down. Pickles were wonderful the egg as the hero. Homemade sourdough was delicious (first time I’ve paid for bread). The carrots were nice though we had asked for non-dairy options and these were sitting in a bath of yogurt. (Whoops). We ate around it. Kabobs had wonderful flavor though required more chewing than I was expecting. My wife’s burger was “OK”, so net-net. If you are nearby you will find the choice items and likely return frequently to have them. Not sure you should go out of your way if you need to take a train to get here.
DON'T FALL FOR IT: HAPPY HOUR BEERS NOT WHAT IT SEEMS Look at this menu, and tell me if there is any indication that ONLY Narragansett beer is available for happy hour prices. My group was in for a surprise when we ordered other beers during happy hour expecting the special price and later received the bill with full price drinks. The staff explained to us that the beers we ordered were not included in the happy hour beer special. Go figure. At least with the cocktails it's clear that ONLY the "daily cocktail" is on special. The food that we had (happy hour Israeli Nachos) was really good, and the atmosphere was good too (until the miscommunication was discovered). Not giving lower than 3 stars because although we paid more, we did get pints of good beers, and we enjoyed the food. I wish I wanted to come back, but can't get the "bait and switch" taste out of my mouth. If you're looking for a better place to have a few drinks and a snack at happy hour, try Butcher's Daughter.
Great atmosphere and service. Came for dinner on a Monday night, pretty empty with just a few tables. We had the beef tartare, cauliflower, and shawarma. The food wasn’t as good as I’d hoped. The beef tartare was way too salty while the other dishes were just mediocre. We really wanted to try their burger but they didn’t have it. It was kinda disappointing
Tahini caesar was awesome. Ceviche was ok. Steak was bad. Cocktails were ok. Definitely a happy hour spot. Good vibes. Food, not so much.
This place needs more staff! We came in a Sunday, it was busy, there was only one server for the whole place. We weren’t really checked on, but the food was yummy. Also be prepared if you go here to be sitting on a picnic bench with no back support.
Came early for dinner, was empty on a Saturday during happy hour but quickly filled up decently and the decor and service were excellent. The food overall was very good and the cocktails were excellent, the only issue was the oysters were a bit rough (sadly among the worst I’ve ever had). Updated: hate to do it but don’t get the oysters - everyone in my dining party got food poisoning so that’s today for me
This place was so cute. I like to think we just hit it on an odd day. Service was pretty slow and we had to often request items a few times before they were delivered. I was also really pumped about the Caesar salad concept but much was left to be desired
If you’re gonna charge $25 for shawarma you could at least fill up the container and make it a meals worth… Used to be a regular here but they keep raising prices and skimping on portion sizes - sad.
Since I am determinedly fulfilling my mission as a d--n hipster, I ordered the green omlette. I really liked it. The omlette is fluffy with crispy edge, the inside veggies are flavorful. Y'all hipsters gotta try this just for this super Instagramable color lol. So I came back again. However this time I ordered their egg sandwich which is surprisingly disappointing. Not sure if I ordered the wrong dish or the chef wasn't doing a good job, the sandwich was literally nothing more than just bun an egg and watery burrata spread. The bun was cold and hard. Can't believe it costs 12 bucks! Like, any deli can make a better sandwich honestly. 😰
The food and atmosphere here are fantastic—seriously, 10/10 oysters, drinks, and burgers. The quality was outstanding, and we were really excited to enjoy a great night out. Unfortunately, the service didn’t come close to matching the food. Our group of 7 was essentially *cut off* from ordering more oysters and burgers because it was “too hard on the kitchen,” despite there being only four tables in the entire restaurant. We had been ordering oysters (24 at a time) over the course of an hour and a half, totaling 72—a completely reasonable amount for a party of our size. If there’s a limit on how much food can be ordered, that should be communicated upfront, not imposed arbitrarily when the waitress starts getting annoyed. They also were “out” of everything else we wanted to order such as Mediterranean nachos or the daily sandwich. It’s such a shame because the food and setting were incredible, but the service and communication could be improved upon. It’s been a long time I’ve experienced attitude from a waitress. She refused to speak to us after her comment about not ordering more food and did not visit the table to say goodbye or check in after that.
I really wanted to love this place because the experience was amazing and the food was good. However, my friend and I had oysters from here and got SEVERE food poisoning. I was sick for 2 weeks and so traumatized by it 😂 I see few other reviews where they say they got food poisoning, so be aware of oysters from this place! Other than the oysters, the food and service was good!
Went for happy hour today. I’ve been wanting to go for a while since we live so close and 1$ oysters sounded awesome. To be honest, the oysters tasted pretty decent. The happy hour spritz had way too much aperol at first, but the server kindly topped our drinks off with more Prosecco when we asked. The reason for the lower rating for service is: 1. Pretty difficult to grab attention of staff 2. Had some oyster water/ juice from the tray spill on my pants when they grabbed it from the table, and instead of apologizing they said “just missed ya” and walked off. However, the real issue with the 1 star food - about 30 minutes later I became violently ill from the oysters. I mean, so much pain. Not sure if I just got unlucky with a batch of bad oysters or what. Every table around us also got the happy hour oysters, and everyone else was vibing… Luckily I live a block over so I was able to make it home fast to finish the rest of my being sick over the next few hours. I was hoping this would become a regular spot, but perhaps $1 oysters are too good to be true :/ also, won’t be having aperol spritz or oysters for a looooonnnnnggggg time after this experience.
My birthday reservation was cancelled less than 2 hours before the reservation. Unbelievable
Just left after having dinner . Service was terrible . We waited 10 min before our server came up to our table , I had to ask about missing orders repeatedly, and ended up walking up to the bar myself to get items that was supposed to be served to us . Mind you the restaurant was empty. The bar tender was a sweetheart , but our waitress couldn’t be bothered. Food was also just ok . And the bench seating is not ideal for this slow of service . Our backs were killing us at the end of the meal . Would not return again .
My partner and I really wanted to try this place, as the food looked delicious, but we never got to because of the horrible service. I've been working in the industry for 10+ years so I have a lot of patience and understanding towards my fellow brethren, but the staff at lighthouse BK dropped the ball tonight on multiple occasions. We came at 4:20 and got sat quickly as the restaurant was not too busy, but we were not given the menu nor any water. Whatever, we pulled up the menu on our phones. The issue started when another party walks in 5 minutes after us; at this point we still haven't been acknowledged after being sat and still don't have menus or water. The same girl proceeds to seat the new party at a table right behind ours, so I see everything happening in real time, and gives them menus and water right away... She finally come to our table and drops off menus and water. I ask her a quick question about the HH while I have her attention. She leaves and I'm thinking she's gonna take our order soon. Nope. She goes to the party she sat after us and takes their order...how does that make any sense? It's not like it was a different server who might've not known who got sat first. It was the exact same person who sat both of our tables. At this point I'm irritated, but still trying to be understanding. The last straw was when the girl finishes taking the other party's order, she looks at us, and then continues to walk past us. Then she goes and pays out another table and starts clearing their plates while they get up to leave, all the while we have been patiently waiting for 20 minutes. So we just decide to leave. The final straw was when on the way out I bump into another server, blond girl with tats, and let her know we're leaving because of the complete lack of service for 20 minutes. She proceeds to give me a sarcastic smile and says "okay thanks, have a nice day". It's one thing to give bad service, it's another to not give a damn about it and dismiss your guests. It's been a while since I've experienced such a genuine lack of hospitality. Do better.
Went here last night for a birthday dinner. We were told it was $70 a person for “prix fixe” menu with family style but came out to $85 with wine For 18 People. There was NOT ENOUGH FOOD for family style. The Prix fixe menu included 3 apps, 2 main dishes, and dessert. It was NOWHERE NEAR family style at all. All they did was bring out a normal one person portion and expect 6 of us to share it. Swear to god, 6 of us shared (1) 10oz. Steak so we had ONE SLICE each. We were still very hungry when we left. Family style should be more portions than just the normal portion. We completely overpaid! I understand this is a new restaurant but there needs to be some accountability of portions for a large group of people.
I ordered the grass-fed steak (medium), listed as a 16oz steak for two ($53). Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Cook level: Ordered medium, but the steak arrived well-done, which ruined both tenderness and flavor. Portion size: The serving looked noticeably smaller than the advertised 16oz, especially considering it was billed as “for two.” Cut quality: The steak was a tri-tip, which is a leaner, less expensive cut — not what I’d expect for a $53 steak. Most restaurants at this price point serve ribeye, strip, or filet. Price/value: After tax and tip, the bill came to nearly $70 for a tri-tip steak, French fries, and a water. For that price, the quality, portion, and preparation simply didn’t match expectations — extremely overpriced. Tip calculation: The system auto-calculated a 20% tip on the subtotal + tax, which came to $11.54. If it had been 20% on just the $53 subtotal, it would have been $10.60. Not a huge difference, but it feels misleading since tax shouldn’t be tipped on. Menu: The menu itself is extremely limited, with vague wording like “spicy things” instead of clear descriptions. For a high-priced restaurant, I expected more variety and professionalism. Atmosphere: The dining room did not seem to have proper air conditioning, and it was uncomfortably warm inside. The waitstaff were sweating heavily, which made the environment feel unpleasant and unprofessional. Overall, the dish did not meet expectations in flavor, size, cut, or preparation — and the dining conditions only added to the poor experience. The menu was vague and unappealing, and the pricing felt excessive for what was delivered.
