Ost Cafe Albee Square Reviews
Lovely place that’s far from the hustle, I really enjoyed the customers there as much as the staff, everyone is friendly and chatty and it’s a perfect place to send a weekend morning
Great little place out in south of Manhattan. Very dog friendly and most people don’t mind sharing a table. The baristas are very knowledgeable and affable and talked with me about television. It’s also warm inside and they let you use the bathroom if you get coffee.
A nice neighborhood nook for those looking to get some work done for a few hours. The setting is like a living room, with benches, chairs, a high top and tables to work from or share in conversation. I like that one could take a meeting from here if needed as there is enough room to hav private conversations and the music is not too loud. Speaking of music, def enjoyed the jazz being played. Space gets a lot of light. I did notice there seemed to be a lack of outlets so bring the computer fully charged or your phone. The coffee was solid and tasty, no fancy design but that’s chill. The food was good and flavorful.
Good cold brew. Decently strong and not overly bitter. Lot of seating here and a clean bathroom.
First time in New York and found this cute little cafe!! the coffee and service was amazing, can't wait to come back!! 100% recommend.
Friendly cafe, with a few chairs and counter seats. Nice windows for watching Grand St. OST has good batch brew and espresso drinks made with PTs coffee, from Kansas City; they offer a range of tea and pastry as well.
Love this little cafe! It’s so local & the coffee is always on point. Great vibes & awesome baristas. It’s a must-go for coffee addicts! Bring a book & enjoy 😊
Had the most incredible experience at OST Cafe this week. The barista, David was energetic, warm, and technically skilled. Will definitely come back again!
Ost Café is such a gift to this neighborhood. Great coffee and excellent pastries. (Try the scones and cookies, yum) But what truly makes the experience is the casual and friendly atmosphere. It’s a gathering place for neighbors and a place for us to meet and make new friends. A gem. Take a breath and be patient, it’s not Starbucks, there are only 1 or 2 employees, relax and enjoy the old-school vibe and the music. The culture here is to smile and say “hi.”

Walked in for a bit while waiting for my kid to get done close by. Super cute place and friendly barista. David was welcoming and friendly with all the customers. Had a flat white. Went back for another. People were having a nice time and leaving with a smile. Would make this my usual hangout if I lived closer.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! The coffee and pastries are great, the atmosphere is perfect for chatting with a friend or working quietly, and the best thing for me is the staff. No matter which barista I get, they all have a great energy and really make the place feel like a community. Shout out to David on the afternoon shift for always being super friendly and to my favorite crooner in the AM, Nick, who always makes me smile when he’s wailing on a Prince song first thing in the morning. Truly makes my day :D
This is one of the most welcoming and relaxed cafes in the city. The coffee is excellent, and the pastries are made fresh daily. What I think really makes Ost special though is the friendly staff, the sense of community, the calming atmosphere and the endless parade of dogs that come through on a daily basis. Grab a cup of coffee and sit out front on a nice day, you won't regret it.
It's the perfect Cafe to enjoy a latte, cappuccino, or beverage of your choice along with a variety of delicious pastries. I've enjoyed their chocolate crescent, chocolate almond crescent and ham and cheese crescent, all delicious with a cup of coffee. The atmosphere is chill with a fun Playlist in the background. This is my Saturday go to spot for a delicious light breakfast and a little me time.
This is a great little coffee shop with excellent coffee and an excellent atmosphere. The interior is small but cozy and it's not uncommon to see neighbors meeting together over a cup of joe. If the scones are available be sure and get one, they're delicious!

Good coffee and cool spot for hanging out. Service with dated “just to waste my time” attitude

Decided to come here while waiting for my dog’s grooming to be done. Place is cozy with lovely interiors however, the vibe was not cozy at all. Could’ve been more welcoming but ever felt like you enter a clique’s territory and you’re there as an outsider ‘in a sarcastic Are you lost?’ kind of way? I thought it was just me but having read the comments, there seems to be a pattern lately. I appreciate community and neighborhood closeness but what about those who just walk in?
This place is very cute and cozy. I like the old and rustic style. They had limited chairs and tables. My friend and ordered got chocolate and it was disappointing. The sweetness was perfect but it can tell they used a cheap kind of cocoa. My friend didnt finish her muffin because it was crumbly😐. There are so many bakery around nyc that has amazing muffins and pastries, this place should offer that as well. Items in their menu are all priced right.

The cozy brick design, wood floor and seemingly delicious looking pastries give one the impression this place would be a great Coffee Shop. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I ordered a cappuccino. It was made with a blend of at least two or three different coffees, failed to have any froth, and was served moderately hot. Sorry, but I would never recommend this place to anyone who knows anything about coffee and wants to enjoy a good one.
Let me remind you that tipping is voluntary and is decided by the customer. One of your employees did not understand that and made a disgusting and rude remark under his breath when he didn't receive the tip he thought he was guaranteed.
Everyone except for the friendly twink that works here is so rude for no reason. At this point it's starting to feel like I'm paying money to be served OK coffee and a bad start to my day. It's almost sadistic deciding to walk in here knowing that the angry guy in hat will somehow make me feel like I did something wrong when all I asked for was a cold brew and wish him a nice day on the way out.
