The Brazen Head Albee Square Reviews
Cool spot to drink, prices are reasonable. Bartenders were polite and also recommended the best deli in the area at 1:30am..
Awesome Whiskey/Scotch selection. Free wings on mondays after 5PM. Always have a beer special and it is easily accessible.
Great bar
Great neighborhood bar, friendly and attentive bartenders (one of which has two dogs and constantly brings them with her), great selection of rotating craft beers, a nice patio backyard area
I love the atmosphere here. Friendly, comfortable and cozy. The food is very good. I would definitely come back with my friends. Easy parking.
Great bar tenders who look out for the customers and report that management treats them right. Management has earned their loyalty as employees and mine as a customer
Darts and a great bartender! What more could you want?
A comfortable tavern with many taps and a good liquor selection favored by defense lawyers and locals. There is a pleasant small back yard.
Monday Trivia is so so fun there! Highly recommend- I forget the host's name but he is wonderful !
Lovely, friendly spot for a drink. Watched some sports here, met some friends, killed some time. This place does it all (low-key)
Nice chill place to have a beer. Have always gotten a seat at the bar. They have a patio that is open in the early evening.
Great beer selection. Very friendly patrons and capable, knowledgeable staff.
You will immediately feel at home here. Bartenders and owner are amazing. Great place to cool out
Bartender was great and the atmosphere was fun and laid back. Also great drink prices.
I've been going here for 12 years and It hasn't changed. By the way that's a good thing awesome selection of beers and chill vibe
Great bar, good prices and lovely bartender. Thank you John
Solid draft list of mostly local craft breweries. Bartenders are excellent and space is great.
Relaxing setting, fantastic staff, and some delicious drinks. It was refreshing to be able to talk to friends without yelling over music. The perfect atmosphere for a easy night out. A must recommend!
Neat bar with an enormous selection of beers. Additionally, if you are into scotch, this place will certainly expand your palette, as they have a long list of scotch brands. During this school year you will find a lot of law students resting after exams, while during the summer you will see more local crowd and after-work kids. Very nice happy vibe.
Great beer and whisky selection. Very relaxed atmosphere, great for relaxing after work or school. Outside patio is good place for some quiet. Good location, near lots of late night food places.
Want to personally thank the women i met there yesterday. Thank You So much for the orange juice!!!! You saved my daughters life! You dont know how much I appreciated your kindness and quick response to help me someone you didnt even know. You are Amazing and we need more people like you in this world. I highly recommend this place their kindness and humanity is their way of success! Again Thank You!
I have been going here since 2005. It's a great local bar. Owners and bartenders are friendly. Get a beer or drink at a reasonable price and sit and enjoy!
My neighbors and I come here for trivia on Monday nights. Cheap beer, good vibes.
Brazen Head is an endangered species, a really good local bar. Great beer and whisky selections, low key atmosphere, just right!
My favorite neighborhood bar. The staff is friendly and there’s a great beer selection. I’m not sure why Google has them listed as closed, but they are open 7 days a week.
Great place to go after work; they don't have a kitchen but you can bring your own food and the bartenders are awesome. Emma and Matt are always amazing. Drinks are variant and the prices are doable for a poor man :)
Our bartender was really personable! It was my husband's first time in the city, so the bartender had a great energy listening to his stories of being in "the big city." The toddies were delicious!
I’ve been going to The Brazen, with my wife, for decades and it never disappoints. It’s now run primarily by Emma and Tray and you’ll be hard pressed to find better bar staff aligned with a traditional bar like Brazen. I.e. this isn’t a cocktail bar (although they’ll make you a fine Old Fashioned etc), but it is a very welcoming, warm bar-with reasonable prices and a great line up of beer’s/spirits.
The atmosphere here is pretty dope. TVs all around and sports were playing. It's loud but no louder than the average bar - and that was more so because people were cheering for their winning basketball team. But it's pretty cozy here otherwise. Comfy lounge area, nice ambiance/lighting, and very chill. If you're looking for a spot to chill or hole up in, this is definitely it! My friend had a virgin margaritas 🍹 it was pretty good.
They had a great selection of spirits avaliable. The atmosphere of the bar was pleasant and the bartender was polite and prompt with their service. They require proof of vaccination for indoor seating but to my knowledge that has become mandated for NYC. They had a good selection of sports games on their TVs and were accommodating with changing what was on as there were not too many people in the bar when I was there.
I'm a regular here! Great vibes and awesome drinks. The staff here are great conversationalist and drinks are super cheap! There's bar games and a back patio. Wonderful couches to relax on, directly in the front windows to see the city life. All in all an awesome experience.
Still drunk but my review is genuine: the entire staff are so lovely!! The bartender who’s name I did not catch was a GEM of a human being and the bouncer was the sweetest man. It’s NYE and everyone is a mess but I know my 2023 is off to an amazing start with great friends and a bizarrely great experience at a bar with lovely people. Thanks!!
If you enjoy neighborhood bars or dive bars with a good selection of beers and whiskeys, this is the perfect place. The staff is friendly and generally knowledgeable and the crowd is very casual. Must add: came here for years, then worked here for a few years, still love coming here and love the ppl that work here.
Great place to meet with friends or family for a few beers. There is an extensive variety of beers from around the world. There is a happy hour every day. There is no food but feel free to bring food in. There are a lot of really good restaurants in the area. The decor is a bar and then there is living room style furniture. The bar is very cozy and warm. Service is excellent. Very friendly. Prices are inexpensive.
Great trivia on Monday nights!
Matt the bartender is amazing! Had a bad experience at a bar down the road and choose to come here Instead and it was the best decision we’ve ever made. Will be coming back solely for him, asset to the bar :)
Fantastic local. Wonderful staff... just amazing people. Relaxed, welcoming, and friendly. Year-round backyard. Expansive, rotating beer selection. Lots of whiskeys. And every bartender makes a kickass margarita. Couldn't recommend it more.
Saw Lulu handle a difficult customer with grace and had a great conversation with customers after the fact. Always enjoy coming here for the great deals.
There were only four other people in there, so service was quick, but also very personable and pleasant!
A sports bar like we wanted it. They weren’t diffusing the game we were looking for but still had a great time. The waitress was helpful and the atmosphere pleasant. A good time with friends !
Tammy was an amazing server!! 10/10 service, amazing personality :))
I love coming here for a quiet lunch time beer. Staff is friendly and atmosphere is cozy. My fav bartenders are Carl, Lulu, and Tracy.
Stopped by for a quick beer and ended up staying for a long time. The bartender, lulu, is charasmatic and lovely!
Quality craft beer list. And excellent service from Trey. It’ll feel like a friendly local spot after two minutes.
love this local spot :) very chill bar & i like that you can bring outside food! bartenders are cool & i love the jell-o shots
Brazen Head is a true hidden gem. The cozy, old-school pub vibe makes it perfect for a relaxed night out, and the food consistently delivers. The escargot is rich and flavorful—one of the best around—and the martinis are perfectly made every time. Service is attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere strikes a great balance between upscale and unpretentious. Always a favorite go-to spot!
Stays open til 4am! The bartender John was fun, attentive, and had a great playlist going. Huge selection of local beers and tons of liquor options. They had darts and other board games to play as well as some snacks like chips and popcorn. Exactly what you want in a Brooklyn bar.
Michelle was/is wonderful!!!!! Great hospitality & she was doing her Thang by herself!!! Beast!!! Respect queen; my motivation!!!! I'm a new bartender so I watch and appreciate great service and she provided just that! Great multi-tasker!!!! She's a vibe!!!! If you're ever in Downtown Brooklyn around Atlantic Ave go Check her and tell her David sent ya!!!! Good vibes and great music!!!! Tell Kim David from Roccos Tacos said hey!!!!!!!
Oh my goodness, this bar is such an oasis of joy. I have felt the warmth of true welcome. A place of solace and truth. I was here for a dog’s birthday party. A dog I adore. This was a place where celebrations were abundant. Just breathing the air was being transported to Utopia. The Brazen Head is not to be missed. It’s to be enjoyed.
Drinks are good and strong. Bartender was able to make drinks for a group of about 20 plus other patrons with no problem. They don’t have food but you are able to bring in your own food. Overall good bar to check out. I believe they also have an outdoor space.
Nice cosy bar, great if you're tired of the deafening sports bar scene. So-so craft beer selection. Quirky bar staff, who like beastie boys a _lot_ :)
Excellent beer list, can be a little expensive if you don’t hit it at happy hour. Most of the bar folks are great.
Nice place to have a drink. Been once but would go again. Different days have different specials and activities, free bagels some day (can't remember which).
Nice local bar. I found it while looking for a place to drink a beer. I'm visiting from out of town. I like neighborhood bars and this is a nice one.
Local bar with great selection of local beers.
Solid no frills pub with a good beer selection and plenty of cozy places to sit for groups and dates alike. Weekend evenings are busy and louder but can be a nice and quiet place to chat during the week.
Nice dive type bar. They have a good selection of whiskeys. Prices are decent and there staff is friendly. Once only been there in the daytime though, so nights could be different.
Good local bar with daily specials that bring in a diverse but casual crowd. Reasonably priced/cheap drinks and friendly bartenders. TVs are always playing a game so also good for sports fans as well.
Solid neighborhood bar. Lots of events and happy hour specials. Good beer list and posted prices for whiskey which is nice. The only downside is service can be a little slow sonetimes.
Love this place! Great whiskey and draft beer selection. Deduced a star because people that work there aren't friendly. I still go though, it's my neighborhood joint!
Surprisingly decent prices for drinks. Fantastic local. Dart board and board games to boot.
Chill, cosy pub for drinks & games. The bartender was super lovely & friendly! Recommend for a chill one if you're in the area.
(Nov 2014) A quiet pint on a very cold Sunday arvo. I felt like a real American, sitting up at the bar, sipping away and enjoying the lack of punters. Nice friendly feel. 15 taps, nothing mind blowing but more than good enough. Pricing good ($7 pints) and I love the fact they disclose the keg tap date. As others have noted more emphasis on the hard stuff; 20 single malts, maybe 30 bourbons and 20 ryes. Good setup but won’t be the first stop for geeks.
A couple of TVs to watch sports and it is a local bar. Got a variety of brews for you to choose from.
Great prices on drinks and friendly service. A little warm inside on hot summer days but tolerable.
I was especially happy with both bartenders that I encountered (shift change); professional, kind, and helpful. Discovered a back porch area when heading to the restroom; headed out there to find a wonderful group of patrons and hung out. A really good experience on all counts.
Went on a rainy Saturday night for a cold beer. Lots of choice and friendly staff, but pretty dead, I guess because of the rain. Seems they are dog friendly which is always a plus for me.
This bar is great for hanging out with friends, especially for beer fans. They have a frequently rotating selection of craft beers. One cool feature is that they list the date the kegs were opened so you know they haven't been sitting around. They also have a cool outdoor area in the back. Unfortunately, the seating inside is insufficient. It's not a good place to hang out with a bunch of people for an extended session.
It was cool, except I went in there because they had a highlife + whiskey combo for 7.75 and they charged me almost 15. Feelsbadman
Casual and chill neighborhood bar with a wide beer selection. They even gave me a water bowl for my dog, which I appreciated. I spent $8 per beer, which I found to be a bit higher-priced. Note that they have a $15 minimum for credit cards. Service was just okay, my bartender seemed annoyed when I was trying to get her advice on what to order (I noticed she was being a lot more friendly with the male customers). All in all, this seems like a place for beer lovers but I personally do not plan to be a frequent customer given the lackluster service.
The place feels cozy and inviting, with TVs everywhere to keep people entertained. In the back, there is a courtyard, so if you want to escape the noise from the front, you can head on over to the back for some fresh air. What's good about this place is that even though there is no food menu, you can order outside food and bring it in. Like any pub, this would be a great hangout just to release some stress from work.
A laid back atmosphere. Great place to meet up with friends and co-workers for happy hour. There are benches in the backyard to enjoy the summer days with a nice cold pint. Huge beer selection!
This is a decent place to hang out. Not too crowded and right on Fulton Street means it's convenient for several reasons. There isn't a particular good selection of anything and the prices refect the rent they likely pay. The staff is pleasant.
Nice though small collection of taps and cans. Had a very nice LIC Dub's stout on tap when I went. Bottle selection small. I went between 3 and 4 and it's a nice place to have a quiet conversation.
The place is good for grabbing a quick drink or a pit stop on a bar crawl. Backyard is a definite plus but a musty odor kinda kills the vibe. The service is decent
Very chill spot, friendly staff, not too crowded. Dart board in the back. They're open to letting you bring in your own food. Beer selection a bit limited.
A bar great for after work drinks. Though there isnt a menu to order from, they do allow food to be ordered from outside. Backyard is quite cozy. Will come again for happy hour!
No food ordered, just after work drinks w coworkers. Had not patronized this spot in years. They have a really cool board game (& darts) section w a sofa, and I believe an outdoor back patio. Drinks were, eh ok (measured pours and too much ice), but they have a great variety of middle to top shelf choices.
Bartender was nice enough, but made the worst old fashioned I’ve ever had.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and the mango-peach cider. I did not enjoy the fact that an additional $4 tip was charged to my card the next morning after I had already left a cash tip of 20 percent for my two ciders. Not cool.
No cocktails!!!! Just beer and liquor. We can serve that our selves, at home! They turned the New York Yankees game off as if they were disappointed while yanks were winning 9-0 vs Boston as if we were all in the city of Boston, meanwhile we're in New York city. Come on man!!
racist! now, I've been here before because I work in the area. this particular day I was walking past this establishment and stopped by their outdoor tables for two seconds, in passing, because I needed to resituate my lunch. literally, 2-3 seconds and the dirty blonde that works inside came running out, with an attitude, like can I help you, this is a private establishment you can't be here. again, i just so happened to stop in my path for 2 seconds which so happened to be in front of their bar and I was on the public side walk. lucky for her I had to get back to work and I just didn't have the energy to entertain her. she did that because I'm black because there was no reason whatsoever for her to approach me at all. now if she had any decency she should have afforded me the opportunity (from inside) to wait and see if I was even going to stay at their tables. again, I stopped for 2 seconds she came storming outside. racism at its finest.
I am legally blind. When I asked for a list of beers, the bartender tried to tell me I am not legally blind and that I should just get up so I could see the list behind the bar better. We went back and forth for a bit, me saying "no I'm legally blind" her saying "but you have corrective lenses you can't be blind how do you get around and read signs?" This is honestly the worst bad experience I have ever had I don't think this is a bad bar, but this bartender never needs to have a people job again
Came for my friends 4 year dog adoption anniversary. Despite allowing 8 dogs in the patio which I LOVE, they denied me entry because I had a 10 month old?!? Nonsensical and was very dismissive about the whole thing and wouldn’t even let me see my friends to just say goodbye like a human being. 👎
The bartender actually sucks???? Tried to have his security guard break down the door to the women’s bathroom. We were the only customers in the whole bar. Threatened to “get the key” to the bathroom while I was in the middle of using it.
Bartender took my bill after I tipped, looked at it, and went on to say “there are 6 of you, I’m giving myself 20%” even though I went up for only 3 drinks. My buddy had a similar experience. Good vibes, but bartender was rude
There's a young female bartender with shoulder length curly hair that has a snobby attitude. I dont know what happened to the other ladies that were there before but this one gives of a very bad vibe.. my friends and I went for drinks and she didnt even greet us she just asked what can I get you guys with a bad attitude. One of us ordered a canned beer and my friend had to ask for a glass and instead of handing it to her she slid it to her and it almost fell. Another one asked for a vodka soda and my friend had to ask for straws and a coaster. Honestly we were very disgusted with her attitude and extremely disappointed with her service.
We left this girl a cash tip for the 2 beers we ordered around 8:30 on Tuesday the 22nd. Your bartender ended up writing in an extra 4 dollars on our cc receipt. Did she just totally scribble out the authorized total on our signed receipt?? So basically, she stole from us. I know it's just 4 dollars but that is theft, and we are never coming back.
